  1. I just wanted Nick and Althea to give in to their feelings and fall into each others' arms, and to also discuss the fact they both have seen The Kooky Kraut in action after Matt! By the way, how about when Althea chided Maggie about her stubborness? Look in the mirror, Dr. Davis- aren't you stubborn about your lingering feelings for Nick? My God- I was so worried Polly was going to kick the bucket during Bonnie's visit. She could go any minute. :(

I also noticed there was no announcement of Ms. Murray taking over for Bethel Leslie. Lydia Bruce becomes Maggie in the summer, so we should see Ms. Leslie back after a few weeks. It's amazing how primitive surgery was in 1968 compared to today- technology has made a lot of changes in 46 years!

  2. Looking forward to seeing her- there's practically nothing archived regarding the early years of OLTL. Maybe Bonnie will be the one to capture John's heart- the guy needs a break and a shoulder to cry on after Polly goes.

  3. From "Afternoon TV"- December 1969

    Jim Pritchett's Fish Saute Meuniere

Trout or sole 6 to 8 oz. each

    Salt and Pepper

    Milk

    Flour

    1/2 cup butter

    juice of 1/2 cup lemon

    1 1/2 tablespoons chopped parsley

    8 thin slices of lemon

Season the cleaned trout (or filet of sole) with salt and pepper, dip in milk, and roll in flour.  Heat 4 tablespoons of butter in a skillet, arrange fish in it, and fry them slowly, uncovered, about three minutes or until brown.  Turn them over and fry another three minutes.  Arrange them on a hot serving platter and sprinkle with lemon juice and parsley.  Put remaining butter in a pan, heat until golden brown, and pour over fish.  Place a slice of lemon on each fish. (Serves 8).

  4. I saw the Liz Hubbard interview, and she looked great! How many 81-year-old ladies do you know can get away with wearing a Billy Idol T-shirt? It's a damn shame there aren't any soaps being made in NY now, with so many fine people like her around!

  5. Looks like 'Little Boy Doctor' pulled off a miracle- I won't say more, but it was great!  Steve, you rat- how on earth can you be kin to Joh Rice?  Carolee sees herself as an 'old maid', but she is anything but!  I wish she had told Steve off.  Liz, don't you remember when you were the third wheel with Nick and Althea?  You should know better......

  6. Jam, you were quite observant- that is Hector Elizondo! Of course, we all know who he's been married to since 1969!!!!!! (is that how he got on the show?)

I remember Ms. Saunders from DAYS, and I was saddened by her passing a few years ago- I know she had MS for years, she was survived by her husband Lawrence Pressman.

Excellent resolution of the Bunker situation- done in a mature, believable manner. What a shame Rita Lakin never wrote for daytime again- in time she would have been heralded like other 'indies' (that is, writers who weren't part of the tradition of Irna Phillips and her brilliant disciples Agnes Nixon and Bill Bell) like Claire Labine and Paul Avila Mayer, Henry Slesar, Harding Lemay, the Hursley-Dobson family, and Doug Marland.

I hope Nick and/or Althea will finally tell Matt about the Kooky Kraut!

  7. It looks like there is a ray of hope for Ruth- was it a coincidence that Danny showed up just as she was about to take a drink? Slowly but surely Danny is working his way into the Winters home. Well, we got to Althea and Nick together- wow! The passion was right there, and one can see why that pair was so popular. Karen has met someone even worse than Nathan Bunker- this Philip seems like a real jerk! He even manages to scare her!

  8. How the hell did Bill Winters become a doctor, anyway? What a cold fish! I want Ruth to go completely bonkers at him in public, and call him out as the selfish coward he is! She wants to have a child with him? LEAVE HIM!!! Maybe he can pair up with his ideal woman: Karen Werner!!
