  1. Thanks for that, DRW50. A visit from Inland Revenue for Ian? When he was, like, 21?

Some of my show bizzy friends in the UK told me horror stories about the "presenter" of Blue Peter, Andi Peters. He was apparently an all-round nightmare who got into constant fights with John Barrowman (who was a "roving reporter" on it) over who'd get to date this or that boy band member/actor/chorus boy!

  2. I agree 100%, Ben. It was absolutely ludicrous that Marcus and Sharon conducted their secret meetings in The Albert. London is a big city. Surely they could have met in a pub in Shoreditch?

There's a "huge surprise" on tonight's episode, apparently. I'd love for it to be Michelle putting in a phone call to Sharon.

  3. Ah, OK, found proof via YT. Of course they were on at the same time. I would have loved it if Cecile slept with Iris' fiance the night before the wedding day and played a video of it at Iris and her hubby's reception.

  4. On another board someone claims that Iris, when played by Carmen Duncan, never had scenes with Nancy Frangione's Cecile. This can't be true. I remember being disappointed that Cecile never tried to get revenge on Iris for bringing Philip Lyons to Bay City to woo her and then dump her. Anybody got any YT links?

  5. She's an extremely pretty girl and a good actress. I wonder how long her contract is on EE. I think she definitely has a promising career on television and even feature films.

How stupid was it that Ian happened to have a framed photograph of just Cindy in pride of place on a shelf alongside photographs of Ian and Lou and Mark and Michelle? Absolutely ludicrous.

Oh, damn. I was probably the first on the soap boards to see a Dean/Aunty Linda pairing coming up but was hoping it wouldn't be this sort of twist:

  6. I loved watching Carol Lamonte during that Golden Age of AW. She worked as an architect at Frame Construction alongside Willis Frame (at that time he was played by John Fitzpatrick) and Neil Johnson, who was played by John Getz. He had been a fellow understudy of mine in an ill-fated production of Macbeth at Lincoln Center. He understudied Christopher Walken, who played the title role. John was handsome and likeable and I wasn't surprised he landed on AW about a year later. I think he only stayed for the length of his initial contract and moved on to a fairly good career in film and TV. The last thing I've seen him in was The Social Network-he has an excellent role in it as an attorney. According to imdb he's worked constantly.

  7. slick jones, I can't find the pic you mentioned. Could you post a direct link to it?

I'm pretty sure my ex bf Brian Murray played Professor Thompson, though! He was in the Tanquir storyline with Quint and Silas. I posted here earlier that they would jokingly pronounce the fictional Middle Eastern country as "Tan-Queer."

  8. Only playing devil's advocate, here, BetterForgotten, but isn't it possible that Tom and his family had moved away before February 1985 which is when the residents of Walford were introduced? I did feel sad we missed the first time Ian's head had been pushed into a toilet bowl.
