  1. I get that killing Frank's wife was done for story purpose (the "If you're gonna do something, do it RIGHT! SCENE with Julie alone almost makes it worth it imho) but I know it was done with the sole purpose of making Julie and frank possible murder suspect in yet another tale of Gary and Valene face yet another whackjob who ends up dying. After that story beat I dont remmeber frank having a storyline (except dating Hallee Berry for two episodes) and Julie was left to linger even though there was a nice story that could have built with her dating Mack's foster kid.

I dont even remember how they explained Frank's exit.

I know Olivia left because Tonya Crowe had little interest in behind the scenes politics and never really pushed for more storylines as opposed to her other castmembers and I dont fault her for that. She was however tragically overlooked once Abby left but I always liked her with Harold even if they were kind of on the boring side at times.

But she had so many connections still on the show and the writers should have explored them.

  2. Did she ask to exit or was she fired? Because i can understand not wanting to work alongside someone you were intimely involved with (this is why RS never came back to GH presumably) but firing her would be short-sighted. She could have moved into a different part of the canvas possibly with Greg sumner (gary and sumner barely interacted for years) or she could have gone after Mack (they introduced Jill Bennett via Mack initially and his storyline with Paula Vertozick was a dud imho).

I guess at this point this would be considered nitpicking but I definitely think that the show often cut short on some character's potential (i.e what theyve done with Linda fairgate which in my mind is practically criminal since she coudl have easily been there up til the end or Olivia or Lynne Moody's character which i am sorry to say i cant remember at the moment).

I still have the urge to fanwank some Gary/Frank's wife fanfiction sometime

  3. I wish Jill had been moved to another story after she divorced Gary. Sure the Jill tries to kill Valene was a good story but I hate the way she was written out with locking herself in the back of Gary's car.

Sure she was a far more redeemable character than some other bad girl the show has but i liked her lol

Thanks for the answers DRW :)

  4. I was wondering if anyone could clear a few things for me about the show.

Was Peter Hollister really Greg's half brother or was that a scham? I remember Peter killing his loose-lips mother by making her overdose on her heart medicine or something but it was never clear if it was all a scheam in my mind.

And was Jill Bennett really related to these two? The whole storyline, which i remember liking btw, was kind of confusing to say the least.

And If jill was Peter's sister wouldnt that make her Sumner's half sister as well?

Also did Peter and Abby ever have an affair? I seem to remeber that they did but i wonder if Paige was messing up with Olivia when she said they were.

Knots will forever be my all-time favorite show. But some of its storylines were craY-cray lol

  5. I just hate that they got rid of Linda Fairgate. I really liked Lar Park Lincoln and i would have taken her over Paige Matheson anyday.

I think they missed the boat not pairing Gary and Anne at some point and i will never understand how Claudia could give birth to such a non entity as Kate (i couldnt remember her name for a second).

Oh and one last thing i will forever hold against KL is trapping My hottie Tom Ryan with Kate's british whore friend.

  6. im probably the only SB fan who couldnt stand Cruz and Eden. I think i systematically rooted for anyone that came between them (including Elena Nikolas who was a total whack job). The only exception would have to be Kirk Cranston. Even as a Cruz/Eden hater i couldnt root for Kirk lol

  7. I can only assume that the first two seasons werent much a hit with potential buyers. I admit i wasnt much a fan of the stand alone episode seasons. I think KL started rocking when it became serialized. Ciji's murder mystery, Valene's twins being kidnapped, Greg marrying Laura etc.

I will always see KL as the best primetime soap that ever was bar none.

  8. CTS has a likability that plays very well on screen. Thats a major asset for any performer as we all know knowing your craft is never enough in TV land.

I dont remember much about Jake & Alison but on paper they made sense. The problem was sticking them in the Shooters storyline and never getting them out of there.

They were two popular original castmembers, playing characters the audience mostly liked but apparently GS and CTS gave their departing notice too soon into the season and the writers decided not to use them much.

Think of how helpful Jake and Alison could have been at "welcoming" new castmembers.

But Jake & Jo and Billy & Alison should have ended up together.

Did they play with Jane/Kyle/Amanda/Michael quad? It feels like it writes itself. Michael and Amanda team up to break up and win back Jane and Kyle but fall in love in the process. For like two or three episodes then they go back to scheaming against each other.

I cant believe the revamped version of MP was such a mess. Seems to me that it would be the EASIEST primetime soap to recreate. Such a waste.

  9. The show could have kept Anne Marie Jonson instead of killing her off and make her a scheaming AA vilainess with some vulnerability that could ensure her longetivity on the show. She was no worse at backstabbing and throwing people under the bus than pretty much the rest of the existing cast at the time so I never felt that she had gone too far to be redeemed.

I never understood the appeal of Peter Burns. Making him the love of Amanda's life all over sudden after he tried to kill her (i think he tried twice) always left me scratching my head. JW had some sort of charisma and i liked the Peter vs Michael frienemy relationship but they should have focus on that instead of making him Amanda's love interest.

Every single character that came pass season 4 was a bust except maybe Lexi and Eve and both were handed horrible material.

Taylor had some potential but tying her with BoringKyle for an entire season was a huge mistake.

  10. I still say that Doug Savant's idea of Matt being in love with Michael is the greatest storyline that never happened.

If Melrose happened today you just know Michael would've been a sleazy bisexual manwhore.

He would have at least tried to play on Matts obvious attraction. I think that could have been an amazing storyline though.

  11. For some reason it escaped my mind that Brooke became broke at one point. Was it after Hayley died or did her father cut her trust fund because she was marrying Billy?

I agree that Kimberly should have gotten some sort of break during season 4 instead of justifying her actions via some personality disorder (i was under the impression it was due to a brain tumour though but apparently me memory of the show is hazy)

Brooke could have carried the flame as a bitch causing trouboe for everybody and Amanda's past with Jack Parizi (feel free to correct me) was a total bust. Brooke being second in command at D&D next to Amanda only for her to usurp the power and become the big cheese would have been interesting. She could have gone after Jake or aligned herself with Michael.

Sometime MP made some dumbass move in terms of characters. I mean Megan was a ok character and last til the end and Samantha was a bore that shouldnt have continue pass her initial storyline (wwhich i am thankfully unable to rememebr)

Another problem i felt was that the show didnt prepare for the upcoming mass exodus of season number 5.

The show should have let characters introduced after season 2 to expand organically and add a new one as regular every year so that when the purge began enough "long-term" characters were around to carry on for the original castmembers exiting. And I think Rhonda should have brought back at some point to maintain a bridge between the old and the new. A total revamp of the character might have been needed but she couldnt have been worst than samantha or megan imho.

  12. Yeah the Pricilla Presley as a psycho nurse came across as a lame attempt to top the previous season's cliffhanger and it was too gimmicky even for MP.

Then again how can you get crazier than blowing up the entire building anyway?

  13. Brooke could have gone after jake after billy dumped her and since he had a thing for playing hero to damsel in distress Brooke could have hired someone to pretend to be stalking her only for the creep to turn out to be a complete whackjob. JAKE would kill the guy and Brooke would help him to cover his track struggling with her guilt that her actions led Jake to do the unthinkable and take another man's life.

I think her storyline didnt have to end just because Billy had dumped her. I also think her mother's death could have been a short mystery that would have led her to break away from the daddy's girl she always was. Alison finding out that Hayley killed Brooke's mom would have been interesting.

  14. Maybe its just me but I was sad when Brooke left.

Obviously the show had no interest in showing brooke as more than some spoiler to the "grand romance" that was Billy and Alison (eyeroll) but i think kristin davis (hope I got her name right) was one of the few strong actors the show ever had.

Too bad she was islanded and didnt get to interact more with other people on the show

  15. Her OLTL character was named Lana McClain.

I wasnt sure but thats who i heard she played on OLTL which is why i kiind of find it odd that she was listed as a weird mix of her OLTL character and her real name.

Thanks for clearing that up :)

  16. RecastBrian didnt speak much either. I remember a scene where Brian2.0 explains to his mom about a videogame (which got Abby an idea for her latest scheam du jour) and a scene where he sobbed cuz big sister Olivia was snorting coke but other than that he was basically an extra.

But he was a cut above ORBrian who was so genereic i dont even remember a single thing about.

So i agree that they shouldnt have been afraid to recast the original kids with stronger actors as they aged.

I think they should have had Laura's kids return at some point and build a relationship with their half sister Meg.

  17. Alison walking away fron D&D could have been a perfect way to re-introduce Rhonda (i know i know) and have them join together in a new business venture. From there Rhonda could have woven her way back into the canvas as the lone voice of reason and could have helped bridge the gap between the original cast and the new additions that came later on.

With so many original castmembers dropping like flies during season5 having an original castmember brought back (even a lesser popular one) could have helped the series to keep a sense of what it used to be i dont know.

  18. I think it was a bad idea to keep her at Shooters (wow i just realized that w/o the furst S it makes Hooters) with jake and she should have been given a new storyline involving different castmembes (never bought billy & alison as soulmates).

Jake was also one of the main castmembers that got lost during season 5 he could have met with his long lost son earlier in the season and reunited with Jo.

  19. Thank u Huntress. Its all coming back to me now (didnt mean to quote celine dion sorry for that)

Wish Rob Youngblood had stuck longer i really liked him on GH. He might have been a decent long term love interest for Matt and he wouldnt have had to be dragged out of the closet the way all other relationship Matt was in were.
