E4's episode has Mercedes alive. The bitch is back.

They're trying too hard to make the tone similar to EastEnders/Emmerdale with the older characters/family-oriented stories.

I don't know why BK even tries it with

adding more to the McQueen clan. With the exception of Mercedes (who at least brings good comedy), the whole family has been boring trash. They had their heyday 7 years ago and it's time to focus on Jack & Frankie's family...which is much more likable and realistic.

*Sienna's one of the best villains this show has ever had. Wish there was a comparable character on American soaps. She's so twisted, yet, I can't help but pity her and Nico. Patrick can die a long & painful death, though. He set all of this in motion.

*I ship Leela and Cameron. So much resentment and past heartache goin' on.

*When was the last time Esther had this much screentime? She needs a love interest. Perhaps

Blessing can find herself to like the ladies when Dennis is gone?

*Not enough good teen characters on this show. George and Phoebe are both played out. I miss Maddie and Tilly.

I agree, Bright Eyes, Blessing is just...uh.

I'd like to hear more of everybody's thoughts on Fraser's killer.

I'm starting to forget a time when Freddie wasn't in an episode.

I would argue that Kirkwood's first stint was the first turn toward the dark as well. We had anorexia with Hannah, whatever it was with Warren/Clare/etc, Niall and that mess, etc. Before Kirkwood, Holloaks might as well had been the English answer to 90210.

JP has always been an idiot even before the rape. It's not gonna suddenly change now. He carried on with a married man, used poor judgment using classified school resources to track Finn down, and the less said about his absolute stupidity in how he handled the Craig situation years ago, the better.

It's like you demand he turns into a saint.

Sienna is sorry about what she did. What else does she have to do to prove that? Besides, she's going to find her daughter (hopefully) soon.

DW50, you're always bashing the show, so I was wondering...How do you suggest it improve?

Why can't American soaps have these kinds of storylines, makes me wonder how they would be if one of the EPs from this or the other British soaps were hired

First of all, the Peapack GL model would be used more with English soaps using huge outdoor "sets".

Second, expect a reduction to a half an hour to happen next with massive cast culls. The stories won't slow down, though...as the English pace tends to be quicker than American serials.

Third, a bunch of people added that aren't related to the core families. A lot of American soaps always see the need to connect someone to everyone else. As much as I like DAYS, everyone's related to each other and it gets annoying at times.

A long time ago, with Luke Morgan...but the current story is under much differing circumstances.

This show is on a roll right now with all the fun things going and I can't wait to see where they take JP/Finn, Sienna, the Roscoes, as well as the Lomax family story. Cartini should take a hint from Kirkwood on how to do camp brilliance.

JP will be raped by Finn. It has been confirmed. The bullying from Finn and Robbie will get worse and culminate in that.

Though, Rhys' s character was tainted long before his death during the rape story and the break down of his friendship with Gilly. I still hated how they ret-conned what happened to make Jacqui (as much as I love her) look like a saint.

Kieron Richardson is one of the most unfortunate "actors" that has ever crossed this show's path. I really could care less for Ste.


The rest of the show is going well (sans Vincent). I wish HO would get more attention for what it manages to do:

*Good-looking people.

*Fast moving storylines.

*Surprise twists. (The Clare reveal was superb.)
