If Amanda isn't working, Tell me what or who is working right now on Josh Griffith's Y&R? I personally happen to like Amanda. She works for me. But again, I've taken the character alone without expectation of wanting her to be Hilary or like Hilary.

Precisely. Considering how big of a mess it was when she left, I'm surprised the show brought her back anyway. She was way too popular for CBS Daytimes liking. I'm assuming KSJs death and the possible loss of Black viewers that could come with that prompted Sony and CBS to move her way.

You're doing way too much guessing here on what happened. Mishael is obviously putting a nice spin on her departure attempting to absolve her employer since she was brought back. Secondly, it's common knowledge that she didn't want to leave. But she felt she had no choice. This wasnt her just deciding she didn't want to do Y&r anymore the way you've described. As for her not wanting to play Hilary...again, spin. She didn't want her character killed but she also wasn't about to badmouth the writers and the show. Chelsea had left several times and nobody thought to kill her off. If you can't see the raggedy treatment this populat actress received then I can't help you. Thank you! I'm trying to figure out where this amnesia from fans is coming from. We all knew the score when this happened in 2018. Mishael was approached by the show with this new character. She accepted. Probably because he never actually wanted to leave anyway. Now we've got fans resenting her presence because she's no longer Hilary.

Her choice to leave? That's relative I suppose. She left over a contract dispute like others have before her. But, the show didn't kill their very popular characters out of spite.

Mishael is spinning. We all know she left over a contract dispute. It had nothing to do with her wanting to move on from Hilary. Had Sony paid her, she'd be playing Hilary right now and happy to do so.

When did Mishael say she didn't want to come back as Hilary? I'm fairly certain who she is playing isn't her choice. Everything is a dud right now. The writing is not exciting cause nothing is happening. Even when something does occur, it's written in the least dramatic way. What I'm finding surprising is how fans have turned on Mishael because the show chose not to resurrect Hilary when bringing her back. It seems there's nothing Mishael can do acting wise to win fans over now. I truly feel bad for her.

I'm not sure the show wants a full affair or their intimacy to be real. Kinda like Elena dreamed and day dreamed about Devon to get it, chelsea is dreaming and fantasizing about Sharon and Adam.

For the same reason Elena has dream after dream of kissing or sexing Devon and just had a random sex scenes. TPTB are taking advantage of the actors real life romance to get more intimacy on the show. SC and MG can touch and kiss while MG abd MCE can't due to covid.

Devon really wasn't cheating on Amanda because they weren't together and she couldn't even committ to a kiss. However, it's set up for her to be upset and walk from him anyway. That Nate is now working with her makes me think something will happen with them. But honestly, considering the spoilers

I guess it depends on why fans watch. Some do for fantasy and sex can definitely be apart of that fantasy. However, sex scenes can be unnecessary when their are other intimacies such as kissing, hugging, and touching. I've noticed fans on FB complaining about the lack of that than sex scenes.

Fall in love? No. I'd rather see Sally intentionally gold dig Jack and him fine with that because he wants companionship. So an arrangement of sorts.

Billy doesn't even interact with Abbots or Jill in a meaningful way. He and lily are mostly isolated together at ChanceComm. I can't imagine it's be different for Amanda if she was paired with Billy. That's a good route for writers to take. It remains to be seen whether viewers will but it or not.

Seems to me the show is as committed to Amanda as a lead as they were Hilary though. I get that existing in Hilary's shadow hampers her. But I believe that overtime, Amanda will overtake Hilary. If I can get over Hilary isn't coming back then I'm sure others can. I see a big difference in how viewers feel about the character after this current story. I wish the show would continue it. I'm hoping that TPTB saw that and picks up the thread.

Amanda is as viable as hilary long term though. At least I think so. You don't? We don't know very much about Sharon's family either and yet she's been around for 20 something years. I don't think Amanda's family needs to be on the show to make her viable. It'd be nice though. But it's not make or break. Hilary's family wasn't on the canvas either.

They have. Her family story was the best recieved story this show had had in at least a year. Proven wrong about what? And why is the show possibly not having any immediate plans for her family a bad sign for it? Granted, I think the show has something with Amanda and Imani as rivals with Naya I'm the middle mediating. I hope that's where we are heading. I won't hold my breath though. Still, there are plenty stories to tell for blank slate Amanda.

As much as I loved Hilary, I actually prefer Mishael to have a fresh start with a new character that viewers can actually get behind and root for.

Most people refused to give Mishael a chance as Amanda. Some are intending on hating regardless. When you throw in her fans talking negatively on top of those that despised Hilary, the distaste for the character seemed overwhelming. I'm just glad the show stuck with her during the transition instead of dropping her. Whatever love, connection, and history we had with Hilary took time to develop. Amanda can develop the same just like any other character.

I like MO and her Abby too. However, I don't see her as a lead character and I'm amazed at how she's given story after story and pairing after pairing while Loren Lott is gone without one story or pairing. That's my main problem with MO being on the show. Nothing to do with her but how the show operates

It amazes me how so many of her fans are disappointed that she's no longer Hilary and hate on Amanda and by product Mishael for it.

I recall Neil and Dru's first date. He and Brad were roommates then. He came home and as he was preparing for bed, he looked in the mirror and said "that's one fine little lady.". Small things like that have stuck with me over almost 30 years. Ryan and Neil became friends working together at Newman. At least that's how I recall it. But early on, Brad and Neil were roommates.
