  1. Vincent Irizarry just posted on Facebook that he is officially IN for AMC 2.0!!!

"Happy to share that I just signed on with Prospect Park for the “All My Children” reboot! Excited to bring dastardly Dr. David back to life, as he did for so many others, and to see my dear friends in Pine Valley once again. A great, big thank you to all the fans for your tenacity in keeping the hope alive. You’re awesome!!! Let’s all keep our fingers crossed together that it becomes a reality."

:D Looks like it may happen after all. He was supposedly one of the actors PP was trying to nail down last year, so him being one of the first to announce is a good sign IMHO.

  2. ^ Hahahaha. I guess Opal didn't have lasting love with Sam then?

It looked like KWAKerJack was the way TPTB were headed at the finale. I was vehemently opposed to that pairing until I saw them kiss during Erica's kidnapping. ohmy.png It was a hell of a lot hotter than I thought it would be. I am still undecided about that pairing because in general I just really hate KWAK, but IDK what else Walt Willey would do. The poor man generally doesn't have a storyline unless he's with Erica in some fashion.

  3. If Susan Lucci signs on to a rebooted AMC, I'll watch. Even without her, I'll still watch if there are other characters on there I like. Right now the big one for me, aside from La Lucci, is Vincent Irizarry as David Hayward. I'd even consider watching sans David if they had other really good cast members like David Canary and Julia Barr.

I will not, however, watch a reboot that is all about a teenaged Emma Lavery, Ian Slater, and AJ Chandler. That has no interest for me.

  4. The Victorian definitely more resembled Susan Lucci's tastes. It didn't look like a bordello to me - just overly feminine and fairly in keeping with the style of a Victorian home.

IIRC, the original painting Jeremy did of Erica was NOT the one that was in Enchantment and in the stairwell at Linden for years. IIRC, Jeremy's painting was of Erica lounging, and it DID hang in the stairwell of Linden when it was painted gray. HamiltonBernique has those scenes posted on YouTube where he reveals the painting and she hangs it up.

The painting that hung in Linden and later at Enchantment is a copy of a real painting of Susan Lucci that was painted by one of her friends, Christine Conniff Sheahan:

    Susan%20hp.jpg

The real painting is in Susan's home, along with a painting the artist did of Susan's children when they were younger.

The painting of Erica in the Crystal Ball gown that hung above the mantle at Linden was a framed gallery-wrapped canvas print that stood 5 feet tall - it was literally life-sized - and it was later sold off at a fan event or something because about a year or two ago, I saw the canvas, minus the frame but with Susan Lucci's autograph on it show up on ebay. IDK if it sold or where it is now.

  5. What was the point of Erica moving into that house? Yeah, I know they wrote that she always wanted to live there as a little girl...but it never made much sense to me.

Honestly? IDK. I think someone at ABC decided it was time for a change, and it did coincide with Erica realizing that she was over Jack and was ready to move on with her life.

  6. No, you have it wrong. David did NOT buy her the Victorian house. Erica bought that after she and Jack broke up post-Mike Roy. But yes, she did love that house and always wanted to live in one like it. She lived there during the duration of her relationship with David, and that's where Bianca moved in when she came home in 2000.

Chris Stamp built her the Penthouse above Enchantment after the Victorian house burned down. She moved into Jack's apartment when they got married, and then into the house that Jack bought them at Christmas 2005. Then she lived in the Valley Inn for a long time, in a suite at Zach's casino hotel, at the Yacht Club, and eventually the modern penthouse we saw by the show's end.

Alex Hunter did NOT own Linden - Adam Chandler did. Erica and Jeremy were living in a smaller house that burned down in 1986 or 1987 when Natalie and Alex were staying with them. Adam, in an attempt to get back on Erica's good side, offered to sell her Linden. When she bought the property, it was initially in shades of gray, but Erica redid it in 80s mauve and pinks. The extensive remodels happened in between Erica's marriages to Dimitri. She still owned Linden as late as 1999 or so because she let Ryan and Gillian hide out there when Ryan was falsely accused of raping Jack's back-from-the-dead sister Kit. I guess she sold it at some point because if she did still own it, it would have made sense to move back in after the Victorian house burned.

  7. No wonder Kendall had a damn complex. LOL, Erica made me jump at the 3:00 mark ("JUST enough!"). I'm [!@#$%^&*] stirring, but that sure felt real. tongue.png

That scene with the ink on the dress and the scenes where Kendall tells Erica who she really is and Erica refuses to believe her and nearly takes her head off... Susan Lucci SCARES me in those scenes! unsure.png You know from watching it that she has given more than her share of "evil mom" stares when her kids were screaming and beating each other up. ohmy.png

  8. Gina Gallagher was my favorite Bianca. Would have been interesting to see her return to the role. What is she up to these days? Havent heared anything about her in ages

After AMC, she was "focusing on her schooling" but then was in "Analyze That" as one of Robert De Niro's relatives. According to one website, she's married, works as a teacher and lives in Long Island.

  9. Remember when Bianca was a major bitch when Gina Gallagher played her? No wonder Kendall hated her. I was just watching the episode when Bianca ruins Kendall's bridesmaid dress by pouring black ink all over it. Little bitch.

To me though GG's Bianca was just a continuation of the Bianca we saw at age 4 - spoiled, self-centered, determined to have her way and be the center of Erica and Travis' universe. I hated Lacy Chabert as Bianca because I thought she was too innocent and sweet. Remember, this is the same child who engaged in every bit of manipulation she could to keep her parents together, and then set her dollhouse on fire because she saw her mother kiss her uncle. And granted, a divorce and witnessing a kiss like that would scar any child, but still, to me, GG's Bianca was very in-character.

Unfortunately, Gina Gallagher was WAY old to be playing Bianca at the age Bianca was supposed to be. I think she was something like 16 by the time Erica had her wedding-day miscarriage with Dimitri. They really had no choice but to recast for the anorexia storyline because Gina was just too grown up looking.

I know everyone thinks of Eden Riegel as THE Bianca Montgomery, but to me, she spun the character off in a totally different direction with her being the sweet, nice, anti-Erica. I know it was done to make her more acceptable - Agnes reportedly thought that an openly lesbian character could be accepted if she was Erica Kane's daughter and if she was a genuinely likeable character. Apparently in 2000, one could not be a lesbian AND a bitch. :/

I would have preferred to see Bianca, lesbian or not, as a snotty, selfish, bitchy young woman.

  10. The story was so unbearably depressing. I think the show did this to explain why she kidnapped Maddie, but none of this, this or the kidnapping, was ever needed. There was a lot of backlash at the time, but I've always wondered how much was fan anger at Erica and how much was just distaste over the storyline and the regression (if you can even call it a regression, as Erica didn't do anything like this in her wilder years).

Yes, it was depressing, and the whole role Skye played in it infuriated me. Erica had known Skye for YEARS, and they'd been friends during the Jonathan Kinder storyline, so her sabotaging the paternity test, just to try to get closer to Edmund was such crap. She knew she was going to wreck Erica's marriage, but she did it anyway.

I would have much preferred that Erica get knocked up in 1994 or so when she was back and forth between Dimitri and Jack and not know who the father was. That would have had far more dramatic potential, and it was something that would have been actually in character for Erica. In that sort of scenario, I could see her being unsure of who or what she wanted, but knowing that she wanted the baby no matter what. I could see both men actively pursuing her and even more possessive around her because of the pregnancy. I could see Bianca throwing a hissy fit over her mother being pregnant, and Travis being furious that she might be having Jack's baby given the history. Plus SMG's Kendall was still on the canvas at the time, and it would have been interesting to watch bitter angry Kendall see Erica rejoicing in a pregnancy and doting on her new baby. Oh, and if Dimitri thought the baby was his, I could see him trying to woo Erica back to Wildwind, where a bitter infertile Maria is pissed that Erica just up and got pregnant and doesn't know who the father is. That is a story I would have loved to see.

  11. ^ I still can't believe they had her lose that baby. Erica wanted that baby so much. :( And what did we get out of it? A crap-tastic storyline of Erica kidnapping Maria and Edmund's baby. Such a waste! I would have loved to see Erica raise a little boy!

  12. I know Deadline is reporting that PP is supposedly STILL trying to get AMC and OLTL on the air. That surpised me, tbh, because I thought the rights to the show reverted back to ABC earlier this fall.

As we all know, AMC ended with the assumption that JR was opening fire into a crowded party. In light of what just happened in Connecticut, would you WANT to see AMC come back, knowing that's how it ended? Obviously any return of AMC would be months from now, but debating who JR shot seems kind of morbid right now. I realize these are fictional characters and not real people, but debating who should be on a revamped AMC and who should be declared killed off by JR seems wrong to me at the moment.

  13. I was reading a January 1993 Digest which said AMC would be playing up Lucci's flair for comedy...what comedy stories did she have at that time? I don't know the dates. I know by mid-1993 they started Erica's years of hell, bar some stuff like her reunion with Jackson while she and Dimitri were split.

She certainly didn't get much comedy in the 90s. She had that infamous food fight at the Plaza hotel with Adam in late 1991, and her whole second marriage to Adam was pretty funny but that was over by mid 1992.

She really didn't get anything I'd consider truly funny until 1998 when Mike Roy came back.

  14. Wow, she has the beauty of a She-Ra cast member.

You have such a way with words. wub.png

I thought Kate Collins looked great when she was with Alex Hunter and during the storyline with Jeremy. Once she chopped off her hair and put on weight, she lost that great bitchy ice princess look she had going, and it really was a shame.

You gotta love the tabloids! laugh.png This was their cover story back in 2000. The story was actually about Erica's daughter being gay.

Commentary from Liza Huber: "Liza Huber is used to seeing mother Susan Lucci (Erica, ALL MY CHILDREN) in the press. But Huber will never forget the Star headline: "Susan Lucci's Gay Shocker." She chuckles, "It was the funniest thing. My friends were calling me, laughing." Still, Huber loves the storyline of Erica's lesbian daughter. "It's great because that is certainly something people deal with, and it's not addressed that much in daytime television." Huber adores her mom's on-screen daughter. "I have been able to spend some time with Eden [Riegel, Bianca]. She's a great girl. Whenever I'm in New Tork and we're at functions together, we always hang out. She's a really genuine girl. She's always been supportive on my mother, which is nice to see."
