I just watched part 1 of the prime time premiere episode and I'm definitely going to watch the rest, but my question is, did the daytime version pick up right after the events of the prime time premiere?? And why a nighttime premiere??

This is Britney's hottest video in years imo the song is good not great but kicks "make me"s ass! I'd much prefer "if I'm dancing" as her second single but this is ok, she's actually moving and dancing along the lines of her much older videos instead of just standing there and walking back and forth like she's been doing for awhile now. wasn't the role of ben warren on guiding light created and offered to james depaiva without an audition and he turned it down? it always struck me odd since rauch and depaiva adored one another!!  then phillip brown won the part and backed out at the last minute!!  anybody have insight to this??

what stories did pam long leave GL with after Reva "died" and after she was "fired"? I recall some like josh and Harley and a few others but I cant remember why alan was sent to prison under her?

im confused by the credits in season 7?? wasn't frank south out by the end of season 5 and Charles pratt jr. and carol mendholson the shows runners the last two seasons, which I enjoyed and felt more like Melrose???

were the Shapiro's dynasty's show runner's throughout the entire run and does anyone know if they liked the direction and the shows overall tone what it became over what they originally visioned? it's pretty much what happened at MP although im most certain Starr was pleased with the way the show turned out. i just wonder why he left and never came back after CPW was cancelled?

see thats where i disagree, as much as i love Locklear, she came in at a great time when the show was trasitioning! she came in and stirred the alison/billy romance but it was also the time the jane/michael/kimberly and sydney's scemes storylines were heating up with the shows tone shifting to pure soapy goodness that made the last half of the first season enjoyable! i believe spelling was giving her credit from her dynasty days but she was not the lone savior..... it was all of the above!! anyone going back and watching the second season can tell it was a cast effort and darren starr going all the hell out with all the characters, can simply see this!! YES, locklear helped but, she wasnt the only reason to watch!! the third season says it all!! i was much more into kimberly and sydney than anyother characters and kimberly gave us one of the best season finale cliffhangers EVER with her getting to blow the residents of melrose place away! no season finale in the series run beats season 3 imo!!!

i really liked sandy and thought she would have fit in perfectly with what MP turned into! i remember being upset when the character was written off and thinking that rhonda and matt should be the ones. billy def should have been written off after the alison/billy/amanda and alison/billy/brooke triangles ended!!!!

i think i might be the only one who liked Alban as michelle! and i remember at the time liking michelle and franks flirtation and who can forget the episode with her in that tiny black leather skirt flirting with frank? as much as i love paul rauch, i would have loved to seen labine's material played out with a different producer cause imo, she was a perfect match for GL!!!! it was just a perfect example for right writer mixed with wrong producer and it all played out on screen!!

thanks carl, i figured GL was doing pretty good ratings wise cause GL was on fire around the time Long was let go! do we know if the show suffered a rating's drop after Reva was "killed" off?

does anyone know for sure why Long was pushed out as HW in 1990? she was holding the show together just fine without reva(who many thought she would not be able to do) and her second tenure was much more solid than her first.

thats what i say, phelps took over a already stable show and rode on the writers coat tails for two yrs! i really hate to say this but once rieley and brodrick left the writing imo took a nosedive! to me 93 was kinda a snoozefest from about july on and then when curlee left in early 94, it all went to hell!! does anyone know why calhoun was fired in the first place?

i wonder if Garrett was talking about the 70's or when she returned in 88? i thought calhoun's production values were just fine before phelps came in! not that her's were bad but it wasnt like the show looked a mess when she took over! calhoun did the flashing lighthouse opening didn't he?

being a huge fan of both KKL and KW i wonder what they were trying for on Models Inc. i was a HUGE fan of the show and was sorry to see it canned after one season but what role were they going for? surely not Kylie Travis's role, which she rocked!! maybe the roles that went to CAM or Stephanie Romanov? i always thought that show would have benefited to a season two makeover, kinda like DYNASTY keeping Samms, Grey, Travis, Hill and a tiny few others!!!

i would have loved to seen hickland as GL's mindy lewis! leave it to jfp to think she was all wrong for the role but instead gave us ann hamilton and barbara crampton who were BOTH 'wrong' for the role! the only recast role JFP ever got right on GL was liz kiefer as blake imo!!
