  1. Knowing EastEnders it will probably be the character with the most potential. They like killing off good characters.
  2. Phil is nothing like he is in the 1992 episodes currently airing in the UK.
  3. Hi @Aback, I'm glad you're impressed by what you see. From what I understand the show has been under financial constraints, however after its deal with Channel 5 in the UK in 2017, the Australian government started paying money towards the production of Neighbours (via Film Victoria) given it creates many jobs for writers, directors, actors etc so they see it as important for the country. This money from Film Victoria coincided with the show upgrading its cameras and post-production software, which might have something to do with what you're seeing on Twitter. If you do start watching the show, make sure to post here about what you think I'd love to see these one day too!
  4. I think it was predictable but I enjoyed seeing it play out nevertheless. I'm just glad I'm enjoying the show again. For a long time it was becoming a 'talking heads' show. But yeah everyone enjoys different things and it's still far from perfect. The Christmas day episode was rubbish. What does that mean? Thanks in advance.
  5. Why? I thought it was great.
  6. That's why I liked it. Because it focused on one character. These days everything is spread around too much, not much exploration of the characters but this episode was above average in that regard.
  7. What didn't you like about it? I've seen alcoholics praising it.
  8. I think it's been Sharon's best year in ages. I've enjoyed Kathy opening the gay bar. But it would be nice to see more of that. The NYE episode was brilliant. Probably the best episode I've seen in years. Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it. Kellie Bright is really playing a blinder.
  9. Some characterisation has been good. She's brought back Kirsty who's shaping up to be interesting. Linda's improved. Bobby's a good character and Kathy finally feels like she has more purpose. Was CS in as bad a mess as EE was when she took over though? EE was falling apart at the seams this time last year.
  10. It's still a thousand times better than this time last year under John. It was really in the gutter when he was running it so Kate and Jon really had a massive uphill battle. 2020 is likely to be better than 2019.
  11. They should have kept Melissa Suffield and not killed her off. They shouldn't have killed off Steven either. But I'll happily have re-cast Bobby and Peter. I like Bobby. I also like the new Dotty. I'm glad Kate Oates is re-casting all the essential characters.
  12. I'm glad Peter beale has been re-cast.
  13. Transgender actress Georgie Stone has been promoted to the regular cast. And 10 returnees have been announced for the 35th anniversary; Sky, Dylan, Lana, Jane, Lucy, Mark Gottlieb, Mark Brennan, Jack and Paige.
  14. I don't really blame them for killing off Mel. Tamzin seemed to only come back for some hard cash and then couldn't be bothered in the long haul so they squeezed some drama out of Mel. It was good to see Sharon get something big to do. I just really wish there were some must-watch moments because it still feels like it's coasting. Max/Ruby...perlease.
  15. RIP Reg Watson, creator of my favourite TV show of all time, Neighbours.
  16. Amazing actress. Chrissie was brilliant. I'm really behind with current EE so I can't comment on it but I'm enjoying 1990 in the classic airings.
  17. I hope Lee's return is fleeting, he was no good.
  18. Loved the siege ep but didn't like the slo mo effects. I really hope this Ben actor decides to leave eventually and a future producer restores Ben to some semblance of who he actually was rather than this imposter.
  19. It's also a real shame how they stuffed up Mel's return.
  20. The Honey/Adam thing has been drawn out to ridiculous levels too. It's just annoying.
  21. I still feel like it's not quite right but I think it's better than it has been for years. I wish they wouldn't do a lot of silly things. Max/Ruby as a pairing is silly. Rainie and Max adopting Abi is silly too.
  22. I enjoyed 1989. I liked those short-lived characters too. I really like Bobby, Tiffany and Ruby. Ruby's probably my favourite but I'd like them to introduce some family for her and set her up with Kush. I've gone off Ben again, I'm a little sick of the constant Phil/Ben battle.
  23. Yeah, don't know if we're allowed to mention it on here publicly so I'll PM you.
  24. I loved the other Ben, but I love this new Ben too now. I'm glad you're enjoying Ballum! Has anyone been watching Classic EastEnders? It's been playing on UK channel Drama. They started in August 2018 and they've been playing 2 eps each weekday so I've already seen all of 1985-1989 now. They're onto 1990 already.
