  1. Just wanted to respond to this, because I missed it earlier (although, HOW, I do not know). Because Monica insinuated that Tracy is using Lulu as a wedge to get closer to Luke, and Tracy is reacting to that. By pulling the Wicked Stepmonster routine and threatening to send her away, she proves to herself that this isn't about kissing up to Luke at all. I think Monica hit a nerve, and that it was a combination of her comment and Tracy's annoyance with Lulu for being so nosy that caused her to make that comment. No way in heck she'd ever go through with it, becase on some levels, Monica is right. Lulu is a connection to Luke, and Tracy loves Luke. Also, Tracy identifies with Lulu, and would not do that to her. I think it was nothing to take too seriously.
  2. FINALLY saw the TQ scenes from Tuesday. I don't think she knows anything about Monica and Alan, and I don't think she's covering up any more than in that ambient way Tracy always protects Qmaine interests. Little Lulu is snooping, and while Tracy may not have any idea what she might find, she knows in her gut that nothing good can come of too much snooping around in Quartermaine affairs. After reading the transcript from last night's chat, I was ready for her hair to be a wreck. Ya'll, it didn't look bad to me at all. And I don't think Jane's lost more than maybe a pound or two, though short as she is, a pound or two either way is all it would take to make a difference. I think the REAL reason she looks like she's lost weight is that the shirt and pants she had on actually fit her, as opposed to floating on her. And her face--wow, she is gorgeous, isn't she? I hate to admit it, but I'm grateful to this g-dawful storyline for giving us more Tracy....
  3. haven't seen Tuesday's ep yet, but wow! 4 times in one week. Yeah, they're at the beginning of a budget cycle, and TPTB are feeling generous. As much as I love me some LuNacy, I have to agree with ILTQ that Tracy should and must come down 200% on Alan's side. This is murder we're talking about, and family. You know Tracy--she doesn't judge when it comes to the family, and she is willing to completely disregard the law to protect Qmaine interests. Luke is temporary in her eyes--something she wants terribly, but when push comes to shove, I believe she'd bury him to protect her family. I hate that they have to villify Alan and/or Monica to finally have a viable storyline for the Qs, and I really hate what lurks at the end of this particular SL, but I am really grateful that the gang is getting screen time. How pathetic is that? Oh, and the zine? Here's a picture of it--bad lighting and all. Trust me, it looks better in person.
  4. I just saw a mention of Tracy on SZ--something about whether or not she'll side with the kids. Is she on?
  5. I'm going to try for the whole zine thing again tonight--thanks to those who PMd their permissions so quickly. I don't think it'll be a problem with the stories so much, but knh's artwork was a definite sticking point. So, anybody think we might...you know...get some Tracy today? Maybe? Oh, and I have officially removed "To Be A Quartermaine" from the 100 Situations. At the suggestion of several people, I'm seriously considering changing the names and places and trying to market this as an original novel when it's done. I'll still hang on to the Tracy version, so that my friends can read it, but at this point, it's no longer even close to fanfic. Oy. OTOH, I have a great bunny for the next prompt, which is "Neutral," so 100 Situations will not languish. Now I must go. Lunch hour is ovah.
  6. Diedre Hall as Marlena Evans. I would LOVE to see Tracy in therapy. Otherwise, I'd love for Tracy to get a mini-me--some young thing she could shape and mold and eventually destroy when the ungrateful monster tries to pull an All About Eve on her.
  7. Thanks to all who got the PMs to me so quickly. I'm going to try again tonight at Kinko's, hoping against hope they won't say a word about the stories themselves. It's a whole different world from when I used to do zines back in the 90s. As for Tracy's appearance yesterday--she looked gorgeous, her (tiny) screen time was perfect Tracy. Yes, she's not the Queen of Mean anymore, and I for one am glad of it. I don't like villians for the sake of villains. There has to be substance there, and Tracy is just chock full o'substance. They are definitately setting up LuNacy, and I'm pretty sure they're laying the groundwork for another GF return. I'm taking the Zen approach to this whole thing. I believe we will get excellent LuNacy scenes in the next few months, up to and including a "get-together" around May (their 2nd anniversary). We'll probably get about a month of connubial bliss before TG takes his summer vacation, and then Laura will return to muck things up. Whether LuNacy is endgame or not is anybody's guess. But I'm certain we're going to have a real relationship before this is all over.
  8. *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* Okay, apparently Kinko's has gotten much stricter since my last foray into fanzines. knh, they will NOT make a copy of your drawing on cardstock for the cover unless I provide WRITTEN permission from you stating that you have allowed me to reprint your work in the zine. *rolleyes* Would you please PM me with a short note stating something to the effect of "I, ____, authorize Deborah Baudoin to reprint my original portrait of Jane Elliot as the cover of her publication, The Best of The Tracy Quartermaine Ficathon. " The lady at Kinko's didn't seem to notice the fact that the book was an anthology, but just in case, would the following people PM/email with permission to use their stories as well? Please use the same format, but put your name and your pen name, so that I can have it on hand if they ask. Thanks. MsQ Angel2Devil (Tiffany) Regency Keith *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* FWIW, the zine (unbound) looks really great. *headdesk*
  9. MsQ, I am TOTALLY wibbling over your new video. It's bottom-line, my favorite of your so far, with the possible exception of Full of Grace, which still holds a special place in my heart. I'm going to be in the Break Room for an hour or two, if anybody wants to chat. Trying to stealthily print out the birthday zine in the computer lab without drawing too much attention to myself. BTW, Tracy is in the spoilers for Thursday and Friday this week. Too bad they're Sam spoilers....let's just not revisit that, okay? The ZINE is printed out, except for the cover, which I will print at Kinkos on the good machines.
  10. knh, I just downloaded the picture. I am...dumbfounded...amazed...blown away. It is just so amazing. Thank you--we've got our cover.
  11. Birthday Zine Update. I'm putting the master file in order. Went to Kinko's yesterday and did a price check on binding and copying. Should be...*gulp*...printed by end of day tomorrow and dropped off at Kinko's for copying/binding tomorrow night. It's going to be really good. Sorry I missed the chat last night. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. ETA: Well, the zine is now officially formatted and coming in at just over 100 pages. Here is a copy of the letter I will be including in lieu of a Foreward. January 7, 2006 Dear Jane: A small group of fans got together hoping to send you something unique for your birthday. The book you’re holding, The Best of The Tracy Quartermaine Ficathon, is a small token of appreciation from your fans. This collection, which is the only one of its kind anywhere, contains short stories written by your fans. Most of the stories are collected at The Tracy Quartermaine Ficathon, a LiveJournal community where members share their fan fiction. These stories are written for fun, not profit, and result mainly from the frustration fans feel with the lack of screen time Tracy gets on General Hospital. The stories in this book are the best of what we have to offer, ranging in tone from romance to drama to humor. Some are efforts to capture scenes we would have liked to have seen on the show, while others are completely original stories featuring Tracy Quartermaine in the lead role. Our writers represent a mixed bag of ages, backgrounds, and locations. Our youngest writers are in high school, and our oldest is in her forties. Ficathon members come together from as diverse locations as New York, California, Florida, Illinois, Texas, Massachusetts, and Kentucky. We are students, professionals, artists, musicians, web designers, teachers, and more. We are all drawn together by one common denominator—our love for the character of Tracy Quartermaine. Ms. Elliot, for years you have been entertaining your fans. We hope, by sending you this small volume of our work, that we will be able to return the favor. Happy Birthday from the members of the TQ Ficathon, along with our hopes for many, many happy returns.
  12. Thanks for the amazing feedback, ILTQ. And no, you can't have Marco. I'm saving him as a back-up in case I ever lose my mind and go straight. As for Mitch, he's not as bad as Edward, but well, yeah. Yeah....Mitch Williams. Sorry about the no Larry & Ned, but there was no way I could make it happen. I'm not going to have Paul Hornsby, either, except maybe as an unfortunate liaison. And, yeah, Tracy and Marco are definitely endgame, unless the story changes again. Re: Today's episode. I'm assuming from SZ that there's no Tracy. Why is it we get 20 days/month of Spumoni, but not feckin' Tracy Quartermaine? I assume she's out there staging hostile takeovers and having pedicures.
  13. I. Hate. Real. Life. More Tracy, please?
  14. Break Room? http://pub13.bravenet.com/chat/show.php/1049349012
  15. Tracy was at least mentioned today. Grrr.... Jane, I hope you're enjoying your vacation--or time off--or whatever it is. And I hope you're ready to kick BUTT when you get back. TracyLuv, just use Tracey's email address. That's what she told me to do with Paypal. ETA: Totally OT, but Fey and I have an appointment tonight at 5:30 to look at an apartment!!!!! It's right near the college, rent's good, and it has a washer and dryer. Let's just hope it's a fit, because I'm already starting to waffle about moving out--the maternal unit and her boyfriend are starting with the guilt-trips about money and how they won't be able to make it when we leave. Oh, man....
  16. New page count on the AU--99 pages. And I'm not nearly done.
  17. Break Room, anyone? http://pub13.bravenet.com/chat/show.php/1049349012 ILTQ, no treats necessary. PM me with a valid email address, and I'll send you what I have. It's in two huge Word files, so I'll have to send it as attachments.
  18. SPOILER SPECULATION Oooooohhhhh!!!!! Deception!!! With the return of Scott Baldwin, pleasepleasepleaseplease tell me that Lucy Coe is not far behind! *sigh* I really love her. I'm also remembering why I hate Edward so much. In the time I've been watching, heck in all the clips I've seen, Edward has shown Tracy two moments of tenderness. When Lila died, and when he told her she deserved better than Luke. What kind of father can actually be so cruel to his own daughter? Yeah, she lies, she steals, she cheats, blahblahblah--it's a Q thang, and they all do it. What singles Tracy out for special (mis)treatment? I think it's a combination of mysogyny and jealousy. Fear. I really think Edward knew long ago that if any of his children could replace him--seriously dethrone him--it would be Tracy. So he systematically began cutting her down, destroying her confidence, sabotaging her every move. He knew if she reached her true potential, she could destroy him, and being Edward, it never occurred to him that she might reach her potential and love him. I just freaking hate Edward. I hate him, hate him, hate him. (Can you tell who's been working on the AU plot today in her head?) Did I mention I hate Edward?
  19. Did anyone watch today? Was TQ on? I saw that Dillon and Edward were both on, and someone on SZ mentioned Sparkybutt. But it may have been a poster they were talking about. *misses me some SparkyButt big time*
  20. Regency, re your banner. Fey is gonna LOVE you!!!!!!! A Dorian sandwich on Tracy bread! Now, if you only had a side of Alexis and Carly, I think she'd faint. knh, I'll be working seriously on the zine Monday when I have the day off. The cover is the last thing I'll do, so if you have it to me no later than the 10th, I should be okay. I plan on mailing it the 12th, to coincide with the day Tracey is sending the gift from the JE.com group. (That way, she should get them both around the same time.) Let's all post REALLY interesting stuff so that when MsQ gets off her unfortunate exile from the computer, she has lots to read. :evil grin: Feeding addictions is sooooo fun.
  21. *waves madly to LaineyBev who...just...vanishes.....* SPOILER SPECULATION Dudes, they're not going to make TQ Sam's mother. They're going to make her Sam's grandmother, because SHE'S SO OLLLLLDDDD. *kicks imaginary IIC, just for emphasis* As much as I'd love TQ to have more screen time, I have to say it honestly...not like this! Making her Sam's mother would be bad enough. Honestly, we suffered through it once with Alexis. But making her Sam's grandmother (ya'll KNOW they'd do that before making her Sam's mother) would be horrendous. I'm serious, the first time Sam called her "Granny," a la Brook Lynn, I'd have to smash my hand through the TV screen. Seriously, it's just too repulsive to think about. And I actually liked Sam, for about ten minutes. OT: Ya'll, my wife loves me so, so, so, so, soooooo much! She bought me a 256 meg USB memory stick tonight!!!!! I saved the Birthday Zine and the entire 100 Situations (including the MaryLee West/Marco MegaAU0 on it, and there was still 257 megs of available space on it! Techno-Swoon! I'm so happy. I will be taking this baby to the computer lab on my DAY OFF (Monday) and finishing up the zine for Jane. Thanks to everybody who is letting me use their stories. It should be great.
  22. Please don't take this the wrong way, MsQ, but your SPOILERS SUCK! I got the rewrites. Will edit it into the other Missing Scenes I nabbed and email you what I'm using. Do you still want to use the Anniversary and the Jason stories in addition? I think we may need to cut one of them for space....
  23. AARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!! Will they NEVER let go of the stupid Enduro Condom storyline????????? For gawd sake, the cannery was producing toxic waste that made people crazy back in the 80s, and it didn't get much notice as this stupid condom thing.
  24. You guys, I scare myself. My Tracy obsession is a scary thing. Please remember I'd never seen an episode of GH until January of 2006. And I'm not including my AU story in this list. I just posted my 2006: Fanfiction Year in Review to my LiveJournal. Dudes, this is why I have no life. I probably won't be able to participate in the chat tonight. I have to be at work tomorrow, which means laundry, and we still have movies left. Sending chocolate mousse on without me--enjoy, all. ETA: Waves to Keith! Hey, stranger! I got my sound back! w00t!
  25. MsQ, I've been wondering about the length of using both stories, and it might be better to use some of the Missing Scenes anyway, instead of both the Jason story and the anniversary story. Email me with what you want to do, and we'll discuss. BTW, Regency has posted another story to the Ficathon (Boy, You Were A Fool) and I expanded the instafic into a full-fledged story. Happy New Year's to all.
