  1. Bernie fans will just say they're in the tank for Hillary...

I read the original interview and there was no manipulation by the Daily News journalist.  Bernie did that to himself by his astounding display of total lack of depth on the issues.  Anyone with a sense of logic who read the original interview realizes this unless they're in denial.

There is a large segment of people who identify as Bernie Sanders supporters who lack logic but let me not generalize... Lol

  2. Black people are still more socially conservative than the public as a whole when it comes to homosexuality.

    No.

Most of the North Carolina and Mississippi politicians who just passed draconian laws against LGBT people are NOT Black.

Which President enacted Don't Ask, Don't Tell & DOMA and under which President were they rendered unconstitutional?

So the assertion that Black people are more "socially conservative" about homosexuality than the public as a whole is baseless at best.

White gay men do not have the same issues as black gay men.

White gay men don't have issues about what it means to be a man and being masculine?

    You've got to be kidding.

The context of the issues may be different but the problems are the same.

If anything, Jamal's fluidity story was the show runners using the character to teach/educate about sexuality. After all, the show did have very high HH share for black viewers last season when Jamal was ONLY into men and having sex onscreen. If anything, they'd stop watching over the anti-God/religion themes running through the show versus Jamal kissing boys

Right? The most joyful moment of the first season was Jamal's coming out at the white party!

If anything critics and viewers have had more issues with Empire's handling of mental health issues than gayness or religion.

Ma'am. You purposely left out when I said there was a stigma from racist stereotypes about black masculinity that shape the way black gay men are viewed by others in society black, white, or otherwise. If you're going to quote or comment what I said quote all of it. I didn't say white gay men don't have issues with being considered masculine. I just presented the fact that there is intersectionality and a host of stereotypes that white gay men do not have to deal with. Period.

  3. I thought the episode took time to explore the more. The scene where Hakeem was ostracized from his family in a moment of grief was terrific.

As for Jamal's sexuality, there probably is always going to be fluidity there to placate viewers who are not as forward thinking. Theblack community is still not too accepting.

the black community? Are we still trying to perpetuate the idea that black people hold some special antipathy for gayness that other people don't?  Give me a break.

There is a different type of homophobia in the black community that is rooted in racist stereotypes in what it means to be a black man and masculine. White gay men do not have the same issues as black gay men.

This show is not that good anymore, it's watchable but I was in the corner shaking like a junkie waiting for every Wednesday night.

The ratings are still huge though. The mid season premiere got a 4.8 Adult 18-49 ratings, towering over everything on broadcast television.

  4.

first off please stop with the conspiracy theories. The DNC is not officially supporting Hillary Clinton nor have they done anything to overtly tip the scales in her favor. She's an excellent debater and more debates would have only helped her. So really Williams can kiss my black a$$.

I don't agree with this and I don't see it as a conspiracy theory. Bernie is not a Democrat, and he has not built up the camaraderie and connections in the DNC that Hillary has. Many people in the DNC owe Hillary their endorsements because she has contributed to their campaigns, and have endorsed them. I'm not a Bernie voter either, it's just the plain truth. The DNC have every reason to want Hillary to win the election over  Bernie and I'm not even upset about it. He wasn't a Democrat until last year, and if he loses will go back to being an Independent. The DNC is not worried about him.

  5. @Nothin But Attitude --- Obama's loss in the 2012 general election in Georgia was by single digits. Blacks are the majority in the top 5 cities in the state and the surrounding counties, and there is a pocket of heavily black (Also poor and suffering from neglect smh) areas in middle and South Georgia that could make the difference. If Democrats paid attention to us the way they do Ohio and Florida, Georgia could be a light blue state or purple state at the LEAST. Georgia (blacks) and Texas (Hispanics) are the only "Deep South" state that could be turned. Hillary better pick Castro and attack Texas HARD. Especially if Trump's racist behind wins the GOP nom.

I agree very much. I feel like Democrats don't pay attention to us at all until it is too late. One thing I'll give Donald is that he's been working on the GOP constituents here in GA a lot. He's visited here twice since announcing his bid for the White House and I am sure he'll do it a couple of more times before Nov. If I am not mistaken, HRC and Bernie have only been here once a piece. Bernie's was sometime back in late 2015 and Hillary was just at Morehouse. I have no clue why they haven't reached out to Jimmy Carter to help direct them to other areas in GA besides Atlanta to encourage and lock down our votes.

They also said Georgia was a potential senate pick up two years ago for Miss Nunn and it ended up being lost. I saw Clinton focus on turnout in the typical battle ground states including NC and make sure Florida or Ohio isn't in play because of Kasich...

Michelle Nunn blew her chance at winning when she sat her ass in an interview (or rally) and skirted around a question as to whether or not she voted for Obama (in '08) and whether she agreed with his policies. She tried her best to separate herself from him and it backfired big time. Hardly no one turned up for the mid-term elections and voted for her. I think her actions somewhat ricocheted and screwed over Jason Carter for Governor b/c no one went out to vote.

The Donald is going to be at Valdosta State University tomorrow night. If it wasn't so far away I would go and cause a ruckus so I could do the talk show rounds with the political pundits.

  6. I think it will be Julian Castro. Maybe Cory Booker, but I think she will have African Americans on lock if she continues to hang onto Obama and an Obama endorsement will send her over the top. She may even have a chance in states like North Carolina and Virginia.

  7. I can't wait for Super Tuesday. I made sure I had the day off and everything. I'm excited for the Texas GOP Primary and the Dem primaries in Oklahoma and Massachusetts.

Hillary murdrered Bernie in South Carolina last night. What many fail to understand is blacks are for the most part center-moderates. Name recognition had a lot to do with it but at the end of the day black Southerners are not as liberal and free thinking as Bernie's constituents in New England. Hillary even won among black millennials. I expect him to do slightly better in Georgia (it is much more diverse than SC) and he will be killed in Alabama.

  8. Thinking about it now, I don't even think Tre can vote. Isn't she considered a felon now?

RHOD looks like RHOC with a Southern drawl. I hope they can keep my attention.

I just looked it up. Felons who have served the term of their sentence can register to vote.  I thought felons lost it forever, but I see that it varies from state to state.

  9. Real Housewives of Dallas

    rs_1024x759-160210145338-1024.real-house

The Real Housewives of Dallas is here to prove that even the drama is bigger in Texas. Giddy up, RHOD is coming your way on Monday, April 11 at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
Cary DeuberTiffany HendraStephanie HollmanLeeAnne Locken,Brandi Redmond and their friend Marie Reyes take Real Housewives to the Lone Star State with big egos, big hats and even bigger attitude.
Like all Real Housewives shows, there's a pecking order in place with pedigree and status involved. You know what happens when old-money meets new-money meets no-money. Get a sneak peek at the drama in the exclusive preview below. Don't let the sweet Southern accents fool you, these ladies don't mince words.
Here's what you need to know about the ladies:

Cary Deuber is an East Coast girl, hailing from Connecticut before spending her childhood in Ohio and making her way to Texas. A certified registered nurse's first assistant, Cary has gone on medical mission trips in third world countries. She lives and works in Dallas with her plastic surgeon husband Dr. Mark Deuber and maintains her own aesthetic injectable practice. She's also a mom to a baby daughter and step-mom to two kids.
Tiffany Hendra, a veteran actress, host and model, moved back to Texas to be closer to her family. Now she's reconnecting with best friend LeeAnne Locken and working with philanthropic organizations including Angels of East Africa, a group dedicated to the rescue of orphaned children in need. She's been married to Australian rocker Aaron for 12 years and Bravo notes she has a "troubling past" from her time in the limelight. Classic Real Housewives.
LeeAnne Locken, a former Miss USA Pageant competitor, has had several parts in TV and movies and now leads efforts for several charitable organizations in Dallas.

Stephanie Hollman hails from Oklahoma. Described as "the girl next door," Stephanie is the mom to two boys. According to Bravo, for Stephanie to make her own money, her husband, Travis, writes up a list of chores for her to do while he's away on business.
Brandi Redmond, a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, is a dedicated Texan. She married her high-school sweetheart Bryan and is the full-time mom to two young girls. Her husband is away on business, so Brandi focuses a lot on charity work and spends time with BFF Stephanie.
Marie Reyes, a friend to the Housewives, is also involved in the Dallas charity scene. She's an RN who owns and operates SkinSpaMED.
Be sure to come back to E! News for more from The Real Housewives of Dallas. The show premieres Monday, April 11 at 10 p.m. on Bravo.

IDK how to embed but there's a mini trailer in the link

I am here for it. I am bored to tears with all of the franchises, so I will be tuned into this.

Well damn. Glad that Lipsa called YoLyme out b/c her ass is lying at the end of the day. It's about time someone calls her out.

    In other news:

    @Cheap21, come get your girl....

Has she not forgotten that Joe is an immigrant & if Donald was to win, he'd be long gone too?

    This b-tch can still vote?

  10. Yall are TURNT in this thread! LMAO.

Can we get into how good Sheree looked in the scenes she went to catch up with NeNe and played runtelldat to Kenya. Her body, outfit, and head piece were everything. I wonder why she's back with Bob's big ass.

Cynthia is a damn mess. "Are you done? Peter's calling me right now." Chile.... the rest of this season will be pretty interesting.

And not Sheree telling Tootie that the girls think her man likes men. They know they should have given her a peach.

  11. I feel bad for Lisa Vanderpump (and Rinna) because I truly believe they're right, but Yolanda is so shifty that she won't be as easy as Brooks to figure out. Even Lisa letting it slip that Mohammed told her those kids weren't sick, I believe her, but even though he told her that, he's obviously going to be upset since it was told on confidence. Even his statement about it didn't say those kids were sick, it simply said family affairs are private. I can't wait to see how the reunion goes. I feel like the Lisa's will go down in flames and if Yolanda even shows up she will play brain dead (literally) and then dip out like last season. I wish they had written her off until she got "better." This story isn't even interesting and she isn't on enough to have earned that diamond. She should've been a friend popping in and out like Brandi and Kim later in the season.

    LMAOOOO.

  12. I love Netflix Degrassi. Shay is giving me Season 1 Emma teas. If this sticks around I hope to see more of her.

Frankie doesn't annoy me like she did on the previous seasons.

Esme is a freaking psycho and I'm not here for her,

Maya is much more tolerable here as well.

Im not understanding why Zoe "hooked up" with Zig.

And I was totally preparing myself for Time Stands Still 2.0 when Tristan ushered everyone into the Student Council office.

  13. ^

I enjoyed Kandi and Demetria shading Andy. His ass stays doing it to them, so why not return the favor?

    I agree. F-ck Andy's messy ass!

Kenya needs to gon somewhere talking about what's on her list. She is 45 and talking about what she wants to start a family but is picky as hell. That man was fine and was into her. I wasn't here for that.

Don Juan SAID WHAT HE SAID! Lol! I am not surprised Phaedra ran away from that discussion because she knows she owes that man money. She is so fraudulent. What Don Juan said about Porsha was unnecessary and invalidated his entire argument.

  14. Another thing that irked me was Phaedra talking about Black Lives Matter and acting like it's just men. Black women can be terrorized by police as well, as well as physical abuse by men. She's so patriarchal but I already knew that by how she went on a slut smear campaign against Kenya. Phaedra went to law school she is not dumb she basically was taught how to lie, manipulate, misconstrue, and (falsify) evidence in her favor. Her lying about seeing Apollo's text messages with Kenya and that line about Kenya being like a white woman in suburbia were textbook examples of her using the platform to make the audience who take things at face value hate Kenya even more. I see right through Frog and I'm over her.

  15. I thought it was very relevant....

Kenmora as usual was overreacting and doing the most acting she's probably ever done in 15 years.

but of course Kenya is innocent in all things so this guy must be the worlds greatest criminal ever

How? Was Mike Brown a violent thug that lunged to attempt to beat a woman down?

Overacting? So its okay for a man to call women all types of hoes and bitches? Thats not supposed to make a person feel uncomfortable? Or how about snapping at a pregnant woman, intimidating and making her feel threatened? Are you for real?

Wow. The hate is real....the hate is real.....

Yes I'm totally "for real". Kenya instigated and set the tone for that entire incident. She has no one to blame but herself. Once again Kenya does something but has a case of amensia and acts like these things just happened out of a vacuum..just mysteriously out of thin air...lol.

And we all know what Phaedra was referencing. A young black man can be completely innocent or just minding his own business and because some hysterical clown/"woman" like Kenya Moore starts screaming rape or this or that, the black man is suddenly in trouble.

Phaedra was thinking about her young Ayden and young Dillon and got emotional which I completely empathasize with. We've all watched Ayden grow up over the last few years and he's so innocent and so adorable....the thought of someone unfairly targeting either of them breaks my heart and I don't even know the brat like that. SO I can totally understand Phaedra's fear and just becing overwhelmed by emotion and concern for her own flesh and blood.

That's really all I have to say on it. I know Saint Kenmora felt "threatened" and so of course she's justified in her actions. But Porsha feeling threatened by Kenya's stupid wand and bullhorn two years ago doesn't count for anything....right?

All these mental gymnastics to absolve that grown ass man of his behavior. And what are you talking about in regards to  compare Kenya to a woman accusing a black man of rape and he gets in trouble? HE is the reason that situation ended the way he did. I see how you conveniently ignored that he made Kandi uncomfortable and pushed Tammy to the floor.  Kenya was not doing the most. She tried to be nice to his hateful ass even after he popped off on her and didn't say anything about him leaving until a PREGNANT Kandi said she felt threatened. Anything in the name of realtor TV stanning I guess.... Smh.

Did is yall notice how Phaedra with her bull frog body and Porsha with her horse chiclets were foaming at the mouth to put all blame on Kenya? Their faces were cracked when Kandi took Kenya's side. Hateful chicks were so mad that their plan to have everyone hate on Kenya failed. I can't wait until this is addressed on the reunion.

Kim Fields is a f-cling idiot by the way. Doing the most to excuse Glen but her blonde Brillo pad looking ass said she left because she felt unsafe. Which is it boo?

These re women are very hateful. They don't have to like Kenya but I can't believe them as women took that monsters side, it's quite pathetic. Phaedra reached new lows for me.

  16. Don't get too attached to ManHo, I hear she's not around much this season.

RHOA debuted to 2.968 million viewers. Down almost a million from last years premiere, which drew 3.83 million viewers.

    But Nene isn't missed. :)

No she is not. RHOA premiere last year centered around Apollo and Phaedra which was a major mainstream news story last year. This is on par with the premieres for the other seasons.

Season 4 opened with 2.8 million, 5 with 3.2 million, 6 with 3.1 million. The premieres are usually on the low end of the ratings for the season, as ratings rise as storylines come together and as the ladies have confrontations.

Not to mention RHOA is Bravo's highest rated season by a wide margin and it isn't even close. The second highest rated show last  week was Vanderpump Rules with 1.2 million. RHOA is perched in the ratings penthouse, for the other Bravo shows trying to come for its place...

    tumblr_nxkqrxlNOV1ql5yr7o1_500.gif

Mr. Vixen, don't be a hater. Last season premiered big, but the entire season hovored around the 3 million mark, including the season finale and all three parts of the heavily promoted reunion (with your girl Nene) which were all lower rated than this season premiere. This is why all unbiased articles clearly state that the show premiered well. It's ratings are on par or better compared to when the show went off the air. Stop hating. Nene will be back soon enough and you have To Tell The Truth if you really miss her.

The last part of the reunion which centered on NeNe only did 2.6 million...... The show is doing fine. With the amount of money they paid Bethenny, THESE are the type of numbers she should be getting for NYC.

    tumblr_nxizk0qVea1ql5yr7o1_500.gif

  17.

(Catching up on RHoA later. I'll post here when I do. And both Kandi and Cynthia deserve a center peach. I'd be interested to know who got center peach in all the seasons right up to now).

    Season 1- Lisa Wu

    Season 2- Sheree

Season 3 and 4- Really wasn't anyone holding a center peach. I think it was just arranged by height because they had tall girls on the outside and the shorter girls in the middle. The line up was Cynthia-Kim-Sheree-Kandi-Phaedra-NeNe

    Season 5, 6, and 7- NeNe

Season 8- Cynthia.... Kandi once Kim Fields joins.

Kim Zolciak would have never gotten a center peach. It would have been too easy to draw racist undertones from that  She was always on the outside to not draw any suspicions.

That was a good episode. I did not miss NeNe at all.

All the women were slaying in the looks department! Even Phaedra!

Kenya vs. Sheree was HILARIOUS. "She's screaming at me like I sliced open the air mattress she's been sleeping on for four years" DEAD!

I really wish Sheree got her peach back and I wonder why they didnt give it to her. Kenya was so shady and messy! I loved that the show looks to be going back to the formula of season 6 which worked and that was having a good cast of friends. We got to see Marlo, Sheree and Mallory this episode and the supporting players really help round out the cast by giving the housewives more material to work with. I didnt like how season 7 dialed back on that

LOL... "I'll be in that ditch in 3 months and you will still be in the tent outside your house because your bitch ass can't move in" LMFAO! People are dragging Kenya for coming for Sheree but it's no different than the sh-t folks have been saying online since 2011. It is what it is. Sheree can give as good as she gets. She actually called Kenya a bitch first if we want to get technical.
