  1. I tend to policy/issue based voter. I voted for Bush. Didn't vote for Obama (not because I don't like the guy, just because I KNEW he'd end in this situation). I would have, had I been old voted for Bill Clinton. And if I had the chance probably Hillary, too. So I don't consider myself a member of any party. When I vote, if you look at my record I tend to be more fiscally, economically and in terms of things like self defense...pretty hard line Republican. Most social issues, I tend to be a pretty liberal on (however my stance on immigration is VERY Republican), abortion, same sex marriage, etc. I tend to be very much a Democrat. So I have no problem voting for whoever is the better candidate. I like Romney. I don't care what his religious views are. Religion and state SHOULD be separate. I'm interested to see where this election goes.

  2. This Erica/Greenlee scene in the aftermath of Leo's death is one of my favorite scenes ever.

The show had some really beautiful musical scores under Jean Dadario Burke.

This is one of my favorites too. That's when the Erica/Greenlee dynamic still had great, complex layers. People forget that Leo lived with Erica, as well, so she loved him too. Even though AMC always downplayed that. This was just a good scene.

Not a fan of Erica's hair during the Stamp era. Her David hair was much better. LOL

  3. Well officially Agnes wasn't co-headwriting until June of 1999, but there has long been discussion she was uncredited for months prior.

I wonder how long. Was it MMT before June of that year? I hate giving her credit for the David/Erica basement stuff...but I believe she's the one in the credits.

  4. Anyone who watched while they were in school, did any of your friends? If not, did you tell them? I always kept it to myself LOL but I did have one teacher in 4th grade who watched and we discussed it sometimes (on the down low, of course). Thinking back, it's so hilarious what we used to talk about...

I always wore my soap loving colors loud and proud. I didn't care what people though. Actually, at that time (mid-late 90's) in middle and high school, soaps were "in", so there was no reason to hide it. College, and the 2000's is when it became "uncool". It's always been something I've welcomed and wanted in my life. Those closest to me, know that it comes with me knowing and caring about me.

I was born during an Erica Kane scene. LOL My mom had the show on in the delivery room, and she says that La Kane came on and out I came. LOL I can remember watching at eight years old, but I can't tell you what happened then. My first memory of the show...Erica in the Betty Ford Center. I remember thinking, "Who the h*ll is this b*tch?" Haha. That same year, I got hit by a car, and had to miss three months of school. My mom had just had my baby brother, so her "shower" time used to be during AMC. I'd take care of him while and keep tabs on the show so she could decide if she wanted to make time of the show that day. LOL I never stopped watching, she did.

  5. I'm still not sure what the controversy actually is. I've read some of the links, I've Googled some stuff, and most importantly I've watched the scenes on You Tube. And I just, well, I don't get it. Is it really just the sensitivity of James dying or is the swap that's the problem? A combo of both?

  6. Oh wow, I just watched those scenes, and that was POWERFUL stuff. I really got chills when Ronnie realized what she did and was going to take James back. Then the ambulance was there, and Jack came back (is that a different actor playing Jack?)and Kat got there. I felt bad for both of them.

Now that I've seen it, I'm really wondering what the big deal is. I just don't get it. It's dramatic. It's soapy. It's emotional, and it doesn't really seem like a plot point. Ronnie clearly was out of her mind with grief and reacted, but she realized her mistake only to be slapped in the face by the reality of what she did, before she could fix it.

  7. Just for the sake of argument: If EastEnders ratings are in the millions (I believe I saw 10 million here?) is 6000 complaints really worth pulling the storyline? Why not just let those 6000 viewers leave?

It kind sounds like a minority of upset people, who took their case up with powerful people to make it seem worse than it actually is. But I'm not in the UK anymore, so I'm not seeing the actual reaction to it.

Man, I wish I had EastEnders here to watch this. LOL

  8. Is Cot Death (SIDS here) more common in the UK? I ask, because I don't really think something like this would cause that kind of emotional upheaval. American shows kill kids/babies all different kinds of ways, and it's horrible, but I don't know the last time one really shook up the critics/audience.

  9. Is this really that much different then AMC's Babe/Bianca baby swap? I guess I'm not understanding why there's so much hoopla. If people took everything they saw on a soap to heart, life would much more entertaining conflicted and troublesome. Soap watchers are not mindless droves, that act based on what they see.

That said, I left England in July, and was only able to catch up a few days of EastEnders when I was back last month, but saw nothing about Ronnie or her baby. Is this a biological child she had? If so, is Jack the father? And if not, how long ago did she adopt the child?

  10. Schedule for next week:

The show will only be on for Wednesday and Thursday.

    Wednesday, June 30

    8pm - EastEnders (1 hour)

    Thursday, July 1

    7.30pm - EastEnders (30 mins)

[!@#$%^&*], I'm going to have to bust my ass to get from Kings Cross to my hotel near Heathrow on Wednesday or I'm going to miss it. Bah. I've waited all year for someone to dig up Owen. LOL

  11. I am going to be SO PISSED if I leave on July 1st and Owen is still buried under that tree with NO one having a clue. He's been there since before Christmas (I think). It's time to get this moving. Ah. I'm hoping that since Lucas' story is picking up it'll happen, but damn...get a move on already.

  12. Last nights episode was...interesting, I guess. I felt so bad for Stacey. At the end when she freaked out, you knew that would happen at some point, but man.

That Becca girl needs to be slapped. She is so cold.

There was a bit to much with Bradley's body. But the Stacey stuff was totally needed, I think. I really liked that she was relating to her mother over her father's death.

Zainab makes me want to scream. I almost felt her being stuck in the Unit was karma. I hope someone gets to her before she has the baby, but she's so damn stubborn about the whole Syed thing. I wonder how Mashood would handle it if he knew?

  13. I've only been watching steadily since October, but the Ronnie stuff didn't surprise me. I knew there had to be *something* else to it all. It was deeper then all the stuff we knew about. I kinda like that twist.

I still think Stacey as the murderer was a cop out. I never would have thought her, and now I dislike her for lying to Bradley like that. I'd be willing to bet that Bradley takes the fall as the murderer, and Stacey doesn't have to deal with any charges.

Bradley's fall was campy and totally soapy, but I think the reactions afterward were good. When they turned him over and we saw the side of his head all squished in...eek.

  14. So all this time, Stacey knew not only that she killed Archie, but that her baby wasn't his? (Who is the father, btw?) I mean, [!@#$%^&*]. What kind of woman lies LIKE that to the man she loves? She never even broke a sweat about the whole thing, and poor Bradley was coming unspooled the whole time. I want to slap the bitch. Ugh. And now she literally has Bradley's blood on her hands too. I wouldn't be surprised if they just let Bradley take the fall (haha literally) as Archie's murderer and Stacey and the baby get to live happily ever after. As sick as it all was, I still think that's what Bradley would want.

Was not at all surprised to learn that Archie had sexually abused Ronnie. That was bubbling under the surface with her the whole time.

Roxy was being a cow. It's about time she realizes who her dad was stops trying to paint him as some "misguided" bad guy.

The acting was pretty good for it being a live show.
