It will come as a big shock to those who know the BLOG's headwriter best, but writer-favorites, Austin Reed (Austin Peck) and Carrie Brady (Christie Clark), will be leaving the DAYS BLOG this winter. "It was a really difficult decision. It tore at me, and it breaks my heart to do it, but it has to be done! It's really sad knowing the blog must go on after my favorite couple is gone."...says the writer. If it is so gut-wrenching for the writer, then, why is this happening? "The reason the blog was created was to take what the show was doing and take the current state of the show and make it better. Do different and better things with the same opportunies and cast. In that light, I have always tried to keep the blog as close to the real show, cast-wise, as possible. Having this couple stay on after the show has written them off is a big incongruency. As much as I'd love to keep them on the canvas and write for them forever, it really would be a big departure from the blog's original intention." The couple's last airdate is set for sometime in January. Although the writer confirms that Roark Critchlow's return was only supposed to last until February anyway, his return has been cut short because of this, as well. "There wasn't a triangle planned, but he was going to propel them into their new storyline. But as a result of this casting decision, he will be leaving town not long after Christmas. And Austin and Carrie will be leaving not long after."
