As someone who kind of liked the original Jason/Britt pairing, I don't know why since her return, they have chosen to write her as nasty as she during her original run in the Patrick/Sabrina storyline. By the time she was killed off, she was close with Spencer (she hasn't even said anything about learning about his death since she came back), was starting to become close to Doctor Randolph and didn't act like a 7 year old.

The Sophia storyline is interesting to me because usually in a story like this, the Sophia character would be at least semi-competent at lying.
