  1. Disappointing finale from such an otherwise solid season. We didn't even hear Taylor's sentence. Is it truly official Season 3 won't be about that story?
I don't think they should have gone the shooting and killing another student route, it just changed the tone of the show and took it in another direction. And are we supposed to make up our own mind whether Eric raped him or not?
I was confused at the ending with Eric, who was it? Just another one of his random hook-ups?

  2. Thank you. I miss her so much. She added so much heart to EE. Hopefully Rakhee finds another role soon. There's rumors about her going to Doctor Who but I no longer watch that, it became too convoluted and overwrought.

Low-key exit for Theresa this week. Just two days before she was near death. Well I suppose they can't kill off every character. No doubt she'll be back sooner rather than later.

  3. What a ham that Claudette actress is. Yelling her lines all the time. Her son isn't much better. Some of it was painful to watch. I don't know who I hate more, Babe or Claudette. Well I guess Claudette is somewhat entertaining with the overacting, Babe is just rotten.
Then you have Mick throwing a tantrum over his kids.
One thing I'll say is that the Jordan actor seems like a fine addition so far.
I personally find the Stacey storyline to be the best part of the show at the moment so I hope it's returning this week. The nurses and the doctor have all been well portrayed. I wish they'd show us more of Stacey's stay in psychiatric units and her getting better which could make for a good story but they focus on Arthur and Martin (whom I really like now that being said).

  4. The cancer story is alright although I don't like Jack nicking the fundraising money.
I can't at Nico plotting to kill Theresa to get her kidney. One of Hollyoaks' main flaw with continuity was visible this week with Ben asking Myra to see if she's a match for Nico. Well what about the rest of the 100 MacQueen's in town? If Nico kills Theresa then I can't say I'd miss her, she feels like her purpose has run out. I much preferred Carmel. I wish Jacqui would return. Out of the new MacQueen's Cleo is the best, really sweet. I hope when Reenie returns they do more with her.
I don't know how I feel about the Sienna/Trevor affair. It seems to me it won't lead anywhere and will be forgotten fast enough (a la Grace/Darren). Did we find out what happened with Dylan? He was working well then they kill him off. Can't help but wonder whether the actor had issues with the role? I think he could have worked as the Johnny recast on EastEnders (I say that not having seen that character when he was on, but anyway they've chosen an actor already I've just seen).
I think they messed up with the Nightingales. They should have swapped roles for the Ellie and Rachel actresses. Rachel looks like she could be Nathan and Alfie's sister, and Ellie doesn't look like Marnie or her brothers at all.
I no longer mind Scott, but I feel sorry for James if it's his only option. I guess John-Paul might be another option but we've rarely seen him recently. Then again Scott was off the show for a good 3 months. The James actor is a find.

  5. 2015 was such a good year I thought. I came back in December 2014 and I'm honestly surprised I'm still watching. I watched all but a few episodes in the past year, thanks to a YT channel. I was completely done with US soaps after GL's cancellation but the soap loving blood and need never goes away I guess. I watch all 4 British soaps now (Corrie by far my least favorite, Emmerdale and EE are great, and Hollyoaks is the most consistently entertaining one). Last time I watched a US soap was three months in early 2013, it was GH, I reckon I stopped watching at the right time.
On Hollyoaks, I love recent-ish additions like Grace and Sienna. I loved the latter from the get go and the former took some time but then I realized I had come to love her! Right now, I couldn't care less about Holly & Robbie. So soon after Joe & Freddie and Tegan & Leela shared partners? Holly & Jason didn't set the show on fire but why breaking them up. Robbie isn't interesting, one good thing they did with him was when he interacted with Nancy (whom we don't see enough of), what happened to that? I've noticed they always drop stuff on this show. The Lisa/Zack thing is a bit gross, I hope that's one thing they do drop, and the Joanne actress isn't very good, is she? I really like what we've seen of Marnie so far, and her gay son.
The French soap we have here (which I loathe) is doing a murders-at-the-hospital story and I can't help but wonder whether they're copying Hollyoaks.
Anyway, I first watched in 2011 and it was a mess. I couldn't stand Brendan and his stupid sister. Right now I like pretty much all the characters, they all bring something to the table, I've noticed here Tegan isn't very popular but I don't mind her. I just wish they weren't so quick to kill off people. Ziggy on Christmas, then Patrick by January 5. But I guess that helps make the show unpredictable. I agree on Cameron. They've written him into a corner, I can't see him last long, same for Nico (whom I liked but come on!) and Lindsey.

  6. I started watching this show last year with 2010 episodes. I didn't expect a hospital drama to work for me but I instantly grew fond of it! I chose this one over Aussie soaps because my big obsession over a decade ago was the NZ teen soap The Tribe which starred Beth Allen and others such as Ari Boyland (Brodie). It's obvious they have a very tight budget but they make the best of it. Right now I'm watching episodes from when Bella arrives (already like her, nice she's still on unlike most others) and Libby returns to get married with Gerald. I loved Damon Andrews on The Tribe so it's cool he's writing the episodes I'm watching. Is he still with the show nowadays?

  7. There was speculation Cyrus could be Rita's son if I remember correctly. That would have been an interesting way to tie him into the show's history. But then again after the way Sebastian bombed, I'm not sure they would have done another long-lost son of classic characters. I wonder whether they would have brought him back had the show gone on another few years. Jamey's ideas for a reboot are fine enough (outside the BJ, really?), but as other people have said, there's too many characters and personally I found all of it too business stories-driven. My personal wish would be to see P&G do something for the 80th anniversary, some sort of a 13 episode reunion, they have the budget don't they but I doubt they'll bother doing anything. Also the demand is likely not big enough. Something written by Pam Long could be good.

  8. I never understood why on earth they killed off Hart when it was clear Michael Zaslow was never coming back (I believe he hadn't passed away yet?). Why kill off Roger's son under these circumstances? It just never made sense. It would have been really easy to recast him down the line (I found Grillo quite mediocre and uninteresting), thing you couldn't do with Roger. That just made the Thorpe's disappear. It would have saved us from another long-lost son story eventually (Sebastian). I would have killed off Dinah instead although that would have meant we wouldn't have gotten the awesome Gina Tognoni.

  9. A thing that's always bugged me about the cancellation of GL was that they had an easy, relatively cheap way for the show to go on. They should have continued as an audio podcast as it used to be, on the radio before going to TV. They wouldn't have had the hassle of sets/etc. and actors would be paid a lot less and could just record their lines from home while pursuing other acting opportunities. They would have rented studio space for a few days every month to record and could literally do a month's worth of episodes in a few days. That way the show would have gone on, the focus would be back on the story, and maybe once in a while they'd have done a full-on "TV" episode to show online. I think there'd have been interest in experiencing the show this way, GL was the first soap to do podcasts in 2005 and it was successful. You don't always need the visuals. The sound is strong and compelling enough. This would have been easy to make happen in 2009 but it'd have been better with a new regime, now it's probably too late. What do you think, would this have been feasible and would you have been down for an audio-only GL?

  10. I have a question about the Reva clone storyline. I watched it for the first time back in '08/'09 when an Icelandic fan posted the '98 episodes on YouTube. Anyway, I don't remember such detail being brought up so I'll ask it here. Was it explained how the clone came to be, how it was born, was the mention of a surrogate mother ever made? It's irked me for a while.

As for the "reboot", I'm sorry but the likes of Frank Dicopoulos or Caitlin Van Zandt won't exactly entice me to watch. Seems like a poor man's GL more than anything. Actually a poor man's Peapack GL. Always had a soft spot for Michelle Ray Smith I must say so I'm happy about her, and yay for Liz Keifer and Beth Chamberlin but this cast doesn't look particularly exciting. And Ellen Wheeler as if she's still convinced her vision of GL was so right. I wish them well that being said.
