not since the awful pre-olympic episodes. Home and Away has really fallen apart. They did at one point have a very strong younger cast, with people that could actually act. The already mentioned Chris Egan, Bec Hewitt, Beau Brady, Tammin Sursok, Ben Unwin. Then we had the people who played Tom, Vinnie (True Blood's Jason Stackhouse), Shauna, Tasha, Robbie, Lucas, Kit, Scott, Drew, Rocco and Cassie who were also great. And the amazing Kimberley Cooper and her portryal of bad girl with the tortured soul, Gypsy Nash. The only young people worth watching were Belle and Aiden. Jaqui took the baby because at one point she was supposed to be Max's mother. Tina was supposed to give her and Tony the child, but then she changed her mind after letting him live with them for a few weeks. So she's taking him back.

I hope its not Jacqui, she's probably the most complex and well acted of the current McQueen sibblings. They wont kill Mercedes without revealing her HIV status. Tina's boring, and Michaela's so annoying. Carmel doesnt do anything for me either, though she looks like she's got the potential to be a hillarious character. I'd be fine with any of these three dying, but i'd prefer that cow Michaela to kick it. Isnt John-Paul coming back? Is it for one of their funerals, or is he a part of whatever this drama is that leads one of them to die? Since the actor's already left, it'd be easy for them to off him.

and I wouldnt say Sally's really missed either. At best, she was a supporting character the last few years to the teen characters, the way Alf and Irene and even Leah have been. I dont think she really had her own story, where she was the focus, since the Leah/Sally/Flynn baby story. Even Flynn's death seemed to focus more on Belle, Ric and Cassie than it did his wife.

I downloaded the last two weeks of episodes, having not watched regularly also since early 2007. Um, wow. 80% newbies is an understatement. In the span of a year: Beth, Sally, Lucas, Cassie, Drew, Dan, Amanda, Brad, Kim, Kit, Peter, Macca and prolly others i'm forgetting are all gone. And i dont know if Ric or Matilda are still on this show, they havent been on any of the show's i've downloaded, while being in the cast list at the official site. Holy cast purging! It's pretty bad when a cast member from 2000 is 4th in tenure on the show. Jai is probably the most annoying thing on the show, along with that stupid Annie. Though that Miles/Kirsty underwear flurtation was embarassingly bad. And I see Irene has continued her tradition of somehow fostering every young person in the Bay. The cliffhanger was a .... average. Especially with all the hype they tried building with their end of episode previews. They gave it away two weeks ahead of it airing! And then the next episode preview at the end spoiled it all. They didnt even come close to the awesomness that was the Sarah Lewis cliffhanger.

We just got Sarah and Jason's wedding on today's omnibus on CBC -- fantastic drama! David is such a creepy character, he's great. Loved his suicide attempt and unfolding drama. aww, I like Doreen. I loved her calling Emily so she would wave at Sarah & Jason on their way to the church, and their throwing flower pedals over them when they got back. So cute! I love Carla

Hostel Part 2. Still nothing spectacular, neither was the first one. Though that was slightly better just because of the mystery elements about the hostel and the murder club. The cast in part 2 wasn't as good. The ending was pretty good though.
