James de Paiva auditioned to play Jamie on AW in 1986.
A SOM from April 1996 talks about rumors of Emma Samms being cast as Morgan Fairchild's sister on The City.
That was probably before Jane Elliot signed on to bring Tracy Q over.

Emma On The City Interesting
There was also Talk of The City Bringing Back Noelle Beck as Trisha Alden who got her memory back and brought her son with her. It be a building of a young scene with Trisha's Kid, Alex's son & Ally's son
I think this was right before the cancellation announcement. They had been building up the problems that Alex's son was having living with Ava in Florida and he was supposed to move to NYC with Alex. Would have been interesting having Trisha on CITY. I wrote some fanfic about it once.

Towards the end of CITY's run, Alex was having conversations with Ava regarding Sandy coming to live with him for a while. I always thought that they were planning on an Ava return, but the show was cancelled and that whole story was scrapped.

Raidue, those Eye-talians and their 30 min. U.S. soap operas.
The word "fired" never crossed my mind either, though I sensed it was more of a mutual decision, like Lisa wanted to take a break as well. Two years later, she was playing Lila on AW (which looked even more fun for her than Ava). I like Lisa, but in my heart I'll always think of that exotic beauty, the late Roya Megnot as Ava, she was like Erica and Tina rolled into one. Gone fart oo young. I guess whoever edited this clip wasn't that much of a fan as he/she seems to have edited her scenes out.
well towards the end of CITY's run, there was a lot of talk about Sandy (alex and ava's) son moving to NYC. I always felt that Ava was going to come along and cause problems for Alex and Jocelyn since they had hit a point in their relationship where they were "happy". Then the cancellation came and no Sandy, no Ava, and Alex was left with the hooker.

it was such a bad move. Ava would have fit in perfectly in NYC.

I've never heard/read anything of the Dolly Jones character/storyline.
I'd kill for tapes of early Loving if anyone has them...

I just watched the episode when Tracy hired the prostitute. Gino called in the middle of it. One of my good friends actually asked me to put on an episode for him finally because I speak so highly of the show.

that scene's on YouTube, the sound's pretty poor though. I have some eps on tape, I gotta figure this YouTube thing out. I have a scene where Uncle Gino meets Tracy and calls her "Ms. Quarterhorse".
Love it!

Did you pull out your tapes for that? :-P All this CITY talk made me put a tape on.

I love whenever we get a random reference to Tracy Quartermaine being married to a mob leader like we got on GH yesterday. With that and people name droping Jacob a few times last year on AMC the City lives! (well sort of)
Word! I love when there are small CITY references.

With Alex there she would have had some sort of past connection, and it would have added a lot more options for past Loving characters (Trucker for instance) to make appearances
