It's funny, I'd never heard the original. One of Madonna's major writing partners of the 80s, Stephen Bray wrote it for her, but she passed on it, and I guess Regina (who?) had a minor hit with it. 8 or so years later, Dannii Minogue had a big Aussie hit with it (though I think it's pretty awful)

Yes, it was Regina who sang the song. I remember when the song first came out and everyone thought it was Madonna singing the song. I would have liked to hear Madonna's take on the song. I didn't know Minogue had redone the song.

Minogue's version is awful...lol. It's just to slow for me. I prefer Regina's uptempo version. I actually got the CD off of ebay.

On the women's side... its going to be so boring now I think (even more so than the men).... I mean barring some total collapse, I'd say Serena has this in the bag. Cinderella stories are nice, but they can most of the time make for a very boring playoff. Although anything is better than ANOTHER Williams/Williams final. I wonder if Venus may be trending downward... even though she is still ranked #2.... she has now not won a slam in 2 years.

Three of the four top men seeds made it to the semis at Wimbledon. That hasn't been done in a while. So that is very good. Berdych will definetly be in the top 10 after Wimbledon. So technically he is top 10 player...

Martina was surprised by Roger's interview. She said he came off as very aggressive(not very polite....not Roger). There was even a replay of an interview he gave a few days ago where Roger said he was healthy. So its odd that now he says he was playing injured.

IMO I think he is coming off as a bad sport.

Roddick out Sometimes reporters ask SUCH stupid questions.... I am glad there are people like Roddick who call them out on it. One reporter asked after the game if he will feel pissed off tomorrow when he wakes up? Roddick just looked at him, shook his head and asked if he would feel pissed off the day after he was fired. He then went on to say I think we are better than those type of questions.

On the women's side, I'd say its shaping up to be another Williams final.... although I am rooting for Kim Clijsters. I think that would be a nice story considering she hasn't played this tourny since 2006 due to all those injuries and retiring.

Oh I am so glad that pompous ass arrogant Roddick lost!! He'll never win another major again. He needs to work on his awful backhand and his volleys.
