Very curious as to how Ron’s gonna handle Janet being promoted to co-EP.

Is this gonna be the first time he’s ever worked for a woman?

Yes, Janet will be the first woman EP that Ron will work with (unless he's fired and doesn't come back after the strike).  Only Alarr and Valentini have been his EPs.

Finn has opened a door into their lives for the lunatic who almost killed both him and Steffy just over a year ago. A lunatic who shot and almost killed both Steffy's mother and her grandmother, almost killed the woman Finn has called mother his whole life and held Steffy's grandparents and father (alongside others) hostage at gunpoint and threatened to kill all of them. And that's just a sample of her misdeeds.

No, Steffy is not being harsh to Finn. And any mistakes she has made pales in comparison with this. I see people bringing up the fact that Steffy hasn't told Finn about Liam kissing her twice recently. But there are some major differences. First, Steffy did not initiate, nor encourage Liam's kisses, and she has made it clear to him that she's not interested in him that way. Second, however annoying Liam might be, he is not a murderous, psychopathic killer. He poses no threat to the lives and/or well-being of anyone, quite unlike Sheila, who has a list of victims that is into double digits, and still growing.

Agreed.  I don't think Steffy is being too harsh on Finn.  Her actions/reactions are justified.  Having Finn want Sheila in his life, after all she's done to him and his family, should've been explored on a deeper level, but of course this is B&B and Bradley is incapable of doing that.   I still enjoyed this week, but it could've been so much better.

JANET SPELLMAN-DRUCKER NAMED CO-EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF "DAYS OF OUR LIVES"...

    d92f4f7e03f58fac714fff09632c3198f136f608

Janet Spellman-Drucker, whose first job at "Days of Our Lives" in March 1984 was to answer the phone, is now the new Co-Executive Producer! Spellman-Drucker has steadily risen in the ranks at "Days" over the last 39 years. She first joined "Days" in March 1984 as a production associate. The next year, in 1985, she started splitting her roles, as both a Production Associate and Associate Director. She was promoted to an Assistant to the Producers in August 1988. Spellman-Drucker was named an Associate Producer in December 1989. She was promoted to Coordinating Producer in October 1993. She then became the show's Senior Coordinating Producer from November 1997 until August 2015, when she was named Producer. Spellman-Drucker was again promoted, this time to Senior Producer, in September 2020, the role she held until being named Co-Executive Producer tonight. She directed her first episode of "Days" on June 27, 2022, and has since directed a total of 15 episodes, her most recent directed-episode airing on July 24 Spellman-Drucker was born September 3, 1960. She becomes just the fourth woman in the history of "Days of Our Lives" to be an Executive Producer, joining Betty Corday (1966-1987), Shelley Curtis (1989) and Lisa De Cazotte (2012-2015). In a 2015 interview, she stated that "Days became such a wonderful place, it became my family...I've grown up here." Congratulations, Janet!

Thanks for posting Janet's history at DAYS.  What stood out to me is that she didn't get a promotion for almost 20 years.  I'm happy she will be getting the chance to run the show now.

Albert getting fired at the end of the week was an easy prediction to make. And Janet being promoted as the most logical choice. :)

FINALLY! Some BTS changes are said to be coming to one soap, but not the one making headlines.

    P.S. Don't ask me questions as I won't answer.

Errol with the cliffhanger! LOL. So it's not DAYS.....definitely not B&B.  That leaves GH and Y&R.   Did Josh Griffith have another breakdown?  🧐

    Finn is being character assassinated.

Is he though?  What part of his character tells us that he would never turn his back on a kid at the beach?   It's almost like Finn fans can't accept that he is capable of doing something really stupid.  You want him to be perfect?  That's boring.   I've been enjoying these last couple of episodes because this is the most interesting Finn/Steffy have been.  I really like this conflict.  This is the type of family drama that's fun to watch, IMO.

Corday should probably go with both of them as it sounds like he's handling only the business side with Sony and NBC/Peacock and not day to day involvement at the show.

Both are well liked and would succeed.

I don't believe Greg Meng is a production-producer though.  I believe he was money-producer on the business side of things.  When Greg was a Co-EP, Noel Maxam, Lisa De Cazotte and Albert Alarr were also Co-EPs.  I'd say just promote Janet and let her be Co-EP to run the day-to-day operations.   Then promote Randy Dugan from Producer to Supervising Producer, Sara McCormick from Associate Producer to Producer, and someone from the production staff to Associate Producer.  No need to bring any from the outside.

  7. Thank you, K-Pop fans! LOL  Nice to see two POCs block Aldean.  Hopefully he falls out of the top 10 next week.   Cruel Summer still in the top 10....come on Taylor, you can easily get a #1 here if you drop a remix.

  8. Some more records for Taylor, most notably being the first female, and solo artist, to have 3 top 10 songs on the Hot 100 from 3 different albums.

    From Billboard:

Plus, as Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, the set’s “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” debuts at No. 5 on the Hot 100. The song joins Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” from 2019’s Lover, and “Karma,” from 2022’s Midnights, in the Hot 100’s top 10 – making Swift the first woman ever with simultaneous top 10s from three of her own albums. Among all acts, only The Beatles previously achieved such a triple from three of their albums.  Meanwhile, “I Can See You” opens as Swift’s 42nd Hot 100 top 10, extending her record for the most among women.

    ------

As Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) soars in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart – marking her 12th leader, the most among women, as she surpasses Barbra Streisand’s 11 – the re-recorded LP’s “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” debuts at No. 5 on the Hot 100. The song starts with 24.7 million streams, 361,000 in airplay audience and 4,000 sold.

The track arrives as Swift’s 42nd Hot 100 top 10, extending her record for the most among women.

Most Billboard Hot 100 Top 10s:

    • 68, Drake
    • 42, Taylor Swift
    • 38, Madonna
    • 34, The Beatles
    • 32, Rihanna
    • 30, Michael Jackson
    • 29, Elton John
    • 28, Mariah Carey
    • 28, Stevie Wonder
    • 27, Janet Jackson
    • 26, Justin Bieber
    • 25, Lil Wayne
    • 25, Elvis Presley (whose career start predated the Hot 100’s inception)

    ---------

“I Can See You” is also Swift’s 26th top five Hot 100 hit, the chart’s fifth-best total. Drake leads with 35 top five entries, followed by The Beatles (29), Madonna (28) and Mariah Carey (27).

Meanwhile, “I Can See You” joins Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” down to No. 9 on the Hot 100 from its No. 7 high, and “Karma” (featuring Ice Spice), which dips 9-10 after reaching No. 2, in the top 10. With the tracks from three Swift albums – Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), 2019’s Lover and 2022’s Midnights, respectively – she becomes the first woman with simultaneous top 10s from three of her own albums.

Among all acts, only The Beatles have also charted three simultaneous Hot 100 top 10s from three different albums of theirs: On the Feb. 29, 1964, chart, “I Want To Hold Your Hand” ranked at No. 1, “She Loves You” placed at No. 2 and “Please Please Me” entered the top 10 at No. 6; the songs were released on, respectively, the Fab Four’s U.S. albums Meet The Beatles, The Beatles’ Second Album and Introducing… The Beatles.

    Billboard News

12 No. 1s: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) marks Swift’s 12th No. 1 on the Billboard 200, pushing her past Streisand (with 11 No. 1s) for the most chart-toppers among women since the chart began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in March of 1956. Swift ties Drake for the third-most No. 1s among all acts, with only The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14) ahead of them.

Swift Has Four of the Top Five Biggest Weeks Since 2019: Since January 2019, four of the top-five biggest weeks, by units earned, have been tallied by the debut frame of a Swift release: Midnights (1.578 million; 2022), Lover (867,000; 2019), Folklore (846,000; 2020) and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) (716,000; 2023). The only non-Swift week among the top five largest frames since January 2019 is the opening week of Adele’s 30, with 839,000 units in 2021.

2023’s Second-Biggest Selling Album After One Week on Sale: After only one week on sale, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is 2023’s second-largest selling album. The year’s top-seller remains Swift’s own Midnights, with 636,000 sold in 2023. Midnights was the top-selling album of 2022, with 1.818 million sold that year.

  10. Even if they're not #1 or #2, if one of them falls to #3 or #4 for example, the tournament organizers shouldn't put them in the same side of the draw.  The organizers need to setup the best possible finals match.   Now, I don't know the rules. Do the organizers need to follow the ATP rankings for seeding, or can they make judgment calls when it comes to seeding?
