  1. "Leslie" Thomas is daytime poor version Veronica Harrington. Calling it now. She's a waitress/bartender and no doubt tired of the continued poverty she's likely living. She'll try to infiltrate the Dupree's fortune and use her daughter to do it.
  2. The ones that I'll be paying attention to immediately is that mother/daughter duo with the last name Thomas. They, and especially the mother, sound like trouble over the long-term. The mother being referred to as "not wrapped tight" is a very defining description, and certainly not in a good way.
  3. Right! I much preferred Marcus over Martin, but anyway....
  4. Yes. I remember the name Daniel being mentioned as husband to Marcus, and David as a police officer husband to one of Marcus ' female cousins. Which makes me wonder how is this supposed to work. Too many people being related makes this dicey, so there has to be more characters coming.
  5. Yes. For me, it was a lot of fun even making up names and faces I wanted to appear on this show. I wanted a Demarco/Demetrius twin character utilizing this guy, even though I didn't know who the hell he was. Lol.
  6. I thought that was "Joseph" as Dani's two-timing district attorney ex-husband.
  7. I think I remember "David" as a police officer husband to one of the daughters of either Nicole or Dani.
  8. I have plenty of patience. TRUST! 😏 But I still enjoy asking questions.
  9. The character "Stacy" is missing so far. Described as a successful real estate gal in a loveless marriage. She no longer loves or shares intimacy with her husband but she has lots of fun with other people, so to speak. Ahem! Where is she? Interestingly, the original character description stàted that her husband felt the same way. I remember sizing them up as Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
  10. Yes. I may question a few things here and there but I think this is going to be an interesting ensemble overall. A chance to see some we know mixing with some we don't, or at least we're less familiar with. And yep, I still think Real Andrews is "Patrick". COME ON NOW!!!! 😂 And he's Patrick's and Anita's grandson IF I'm connecting the dots correctly.
  11. So this is "Marcus", or what was perceived as the name for him. I wonder who his husband is or did they decide to eliminate that? And where's Patrick in this ensemble?
  12. I don't lean heavily towards this being a reputable source for confirmation. That being said, I'm feeling like it's noticeably possible just by the timing of it. The actor's real life age helps with the possibility of him being cast as the senator patriarch Patrick.
  13. I'm certainly waiting for more. If those earlier character descriptions had some degree of accuracy, then there are still more female characters to be announced. And none of the male characters have been given a name or face. Let's get on with it, shall we?
  14. It actually kind of does and it would be a very good outcome if true. Him playing a hotheaded bad boy on GH makes him very formidable. As Patrick Dupree, he could be the black Victor Newman, Roger Thorpe, or Adam Chandler. Oh, and I already think he would look great working alongside Miss Tamara Tunie.
  15. I'd say bravo to this if it comes to fruition. He was really good as Taggert on GH. ETA: I've lurked around and discovered that the actor is 61 years old. If he lands on BTG, he's going to be Patrick almost for certain.
  16. A scene in the opening credits of gates closing in a gated community would be the symbol. It would also be cool if they ended each episode with that same gate-closing scene. I remember that supernatural show on ABC doing this.
  17. Oh how I remember this, and how it was just so freakin plain. Lol. That being said, I don't stand opposed to faceless openings but make it interesting somehow. In BTG's case, show some interesting outdoor footage for the theme opening perhaps. And I stand firmly by jazzy/bluesy for the tune.
  18. This works. This also reminds me of how primetime soap Knots Landing used to do it especially in its earlier years. Scenes of the show's actual episodes moving across the screen with the characters contained in the scenes. I would love the opening being something similar to either Guiding Light or Knots Landing with a posh jazzy/bluesy tune to go with it.
  19. Something that's a combination of jazzy and bluesy is what I would spring for in terms of theme song. Or maybe even use an actual song from the 60s or 70s for the opening.
  20. Patrick should definitely be the next character we hear about in terms of casting.
  21. Lol. I'm glad that someone posted this particular question and that Miss Val Jean is paying attention with a response.
  22. You do understand that Miss Val Jean had a hand in Generations as a writer?
  23. But I would say that Generations is probably the best example as to why BTG must produce interest sooner rather than later. Generations was very poorly written from the start so by the time it found a bit of footing, it was way too late. This is not what needs to happen to BTG.
  24. Looking forward to the tone/vibe that this show gives off. Old-fashioned soap? Something refreshingly new? Or both? In any event, I must reiterate a couple of things. Beyond The Gates is going to have come out swinging quickly if not immediately. It's also going to have to move at a generous pace at best. What worked in the past in terms of daytime soaps is not going to work now. I just don't believe it will. Today's audience isn't built for it. With that being said, VIVA LA BTG.
