I can't wait to finally see a trailer or two to see what look the show will have. Will it resemble the soaps of years past or will it look like some primetime show? Maybe even the cinematic look of a movie?

So the bottom line, based on these responses, is that this show is doomed to failure before it even receives five minutes worth of airtime? I will absolutely hate for all of the enthusiasm garnered to have been for naught.

Our girl VANESSA MCBRIDE This gal is the mother of twins and a high-luxury real estate business owner in a loveless marriage. But I remember when she was being called "Stacy". She was no longer in love or intimate with her husband (her husband was described as feeling the same way about her), but she was still getting her "jollies" elsewhere. Sounds kind of "loosey goosey" to me but miss Vanessa might prove to be quite an interesting character more than we know. I also assume her husband will be on recurring status.

You know, I've heard this as well. Despite his many flaws, I've heard that he's very good about employing black actors and paying them handsomely. Go figure!

Our boy ANDRE HAMILTON. I really want to know about his last name though. Is he related to Bill and his daughters, which would be the most reasonable guess, or is he a different family of Hamilton altogether, which would make things rather awkward? Early plot twist (given the show has yet to debut): Bill is Andre's real father who ran out on his mother because he couldn't handle fatherhood at an early age.

Two characters on this show are former Tyler Perry employees, interestingly. They are the gal who plays Bill's new fiancee and the Vanessa McBride character. I'm somewhat surprised that there aren't even more of TP's "minions" on this show, but there's always tomorrow. 😆

Lol. You're probably not going to feel like you're watching either of these. I discovered a couple of other message boards and one Youtube video already sizing it up as The Haves and The Have Nots. I suppose it'll be interesting to see if they end up being right.

Lawd! I hope these writers don't mess this up. We cannot have this show looking bad and being ruined before it even has an actual chance.

You'll have to forgive me for asking a very basic and simple question. I just wondered beyond that if they had some kind of a lucrative family business, like several wealthy soap families have and had in the past.

Anyone else curious about the source of the Dupree's wealth?

1. Generations was half-hour rather than hour. 2. Yes, in a sense, BTG is "blacker" so to speak. Those pics of the actors certainly display more black faces than anyone else. There's only like four white actors and one Hispanic if I've observed correctly.

Hmmm.......I suppose all we can do is wait until it debuts to find out. If it has an awful debut (a la Generations) and remains that way for roughly the first two weeks then we'll probably know why. It typically doesn't take very long to get an actual feel of any new show.

Just curious. What's the concern, in specifics, about how you think Carlivati might handle the Smitty character?

It's all coming together well but because I'm selfish and greedy, I have one more character/actor wish. The Dupree's have two daughters but are missing that one sneaky/manipulative son IMO (perhaps he shows up later?) I really liked this guy when he was on a primetime soap called "Saints and Sinners. His name is Keith D. Robinson. "Levi Dupree" perhaps? Just a thought.

Something else I've noticed. Andre Hamilton, the photographer plays the nephew of Ted Richardson, but Andre has the same last name as Dani's ex-husband Bill. Is Bill Andre's uncle also? It's been stated that both Andre's parents were killed in an accident, so Ted is the brother of Andre's mother and Bill is the brother of Andre's father? Or did I miss something.

Also characters who work at and own private practice businesses such as plastic surgery and real estate. These are going to be actively busy people it seems, so yes, some recurring characters should definitely be showcased.

Looks like our girl "Stacy" has been cast under the actual name of Vanessa McBride. AND THIS IS Naomi's police officer husband Jacob Hawthorne.

I honestly don't know who Mike Manning is but he's playing Martin's husband for sure.

Well, so much for Real Andrews. This has proven to be a surprising journey. Clifton Davis? Never thought of him being in this but I like it. Best known from those two sitcoms "That's My Mama" and "Amen" he's a proven stellar actor.

Miss Val Jean always seems to post these vague and almost cryptic posts. I do wonder what her vision is as it relates to this show. What vibe has she cooked up for what she wants this show to be? I just hope it's good and not stale.

Since taping begins next month I'm going to reiterate this tidbit of advisable information to TPTB just in case they read message boards (and I believe they do). You've got to start this off with some kind of an interesting draw AND seek to maintain a steady momentum. I feel this is even more important now since we're dealing with a bunch of unknowns. I'm probably going to reiterate this one more time AFTER the show has debuted.
