Robert takes a sip from his beer. He's at Luke's Club and enjoying an evening talking with Luke. He said to Luke, "Yes your sister did a number on my brother. Kind of like one of those intervention things. He's in a rehab center now and got settled in."

"I am glad to that he is there Scorpio. He has just been a wreck since Flea and Maxie died. Sometimes life deals you a raw hand." Luke commented, popping a peanut in his mouth.

"Tell me about it. I will be lucky if Robin invites me to her housewarming. Can you believe that my little girl is all grown up and is living with a guy." Robert shook his head, "I don't think I like this."

Luke gave him another beer, "What Scorpio, you don't like the young Dr. Drake?"

Robert smiled, "He's too much like me. I don't want to think of my innocent little girl cohabitating with another man. It's just too much."

"I hate to break it to you pal," Luke smiled and pushed off the bar, "Robin gave up her innocence a long time ago."

Robert reached in the peanut bowl and threw a handful in Luke's direction, "Oh you bastard! Watch out for that young filly of yours. I can't wait for the day you come crying to me about her lost innocence. If it isn't already lost."

"Look pal, my Lulu is virtue personified. She is perfect." Luke started.

"She is a Spencer through and through." Robert interupted spiritedly. Just then the door opened and Alexis and Scott walked in together.

"Evening Baldwin. I see you ran into Natasha here. Natasha are you meeting Nikolas here or someone." Luke smiled at Alexis. "I know you have better taste than to be here with Baldwin."

Alexis hung up her coat, "Actually Luke, I am here with Scott."

Luke's jaw fell to the floor, "Are you kidding? Did you lose a bet or something? Sell your soul to the devil?"

Scott looked at Luke with contempt, "Oh shove it Spencer where the sun don't shine. I knew we shouldn't have come here Alexis. This man only knows how to bring grief. Let's go somewhere else."

Luke held up his hands, "I promise, I will be good." He indicated a table in the corner, "Why don't you two sit there so Robert and I can spy on your, I guess we can call it a date? Is that right Baldwin?"

Alexis looked pained, "Oh dear God."

"That's right Spencer. Alexis and I have common interests and you know, when two people have common interests they tend to do things like have dinner or drinks." Scott's hands waved expansively through the air.

Luke looked at Alexis in amusment, "Natasha, what do you have to say about this?"

Alexis walked over and grabbed the menus, "Shut up Luke. And bring me a gin and tonic."She paused, "No better make that a whiskey sour." Again she paused. "No,I don't want to be dancing on the tables so you better bring me a vodka on the rocks. Yes that's what I will have."

Scott looked at Luke, "I will have the same." Scott led Alexis to her table and pulled out her chair. "May I say you look lovely tonight?"

Alexis looked at Scott shrewdly, "I have to wonder Scott, what is your agenda? What do you want with me?

"I have to have a reason to take out a beautiful, intelligent woman like yourself? I didn't know there was a reason I couldn't." He leaned forward, "Look counselor, I happen to like your company. You are interesting and I am glad you came here to have drinks with me. It's a start."

"I was hesitant to come out tonight." Alexis confessed.

    "Why?"

"Look what my last relationship brought me. It certainly made me more neurotic which I don't need to be." Alexis said as Luke brought over the drinks. "Thanks Luke."

    "My pleasure Natasha."

Scott leaned back and grinned, sipping his drink, "Counselor, I just want to go to dinner with you some times. Maybe catch a movie or something. You know, what two normal consenting adults do. No strings attached. I like you. I think you like me. We will just go from there."

Alexis said in an exasperated tone, "Why am I going to regret this?" Her attention was diverted by Tracy Quartermaine who had just entered Luke's club.

Tracy walked purposefully up to the bar. Taking off her cashmere scarf and gloves, then her fur coat she asked Luke, "Have you seen my son Ned? I am supposed to meet him here and I think I am a little late."

Robert turned around and faced her, his familiar smirk on his face, "I sent him home Tracy because I have been here waiting for you to arrive. Once he said he was waiting for you I told him you left to go back to the mansion." He took a gulp from his beer and with a twinkle in his eye he said, "Hope you don't mind Tracy."

Tracy turned on him like a tiger going after it's prey, "You did what?" Anger was pouring out of her, "How could you do that Scorpio? I should have you reported to the mayor for how you treated me the other night."

Robert turned to Luke, "Oh yes, I forgot to tell you how everywhere I turn, this one is throwing herself at my feet. Literally. I walk into the Quartermaines and she is on the ground in front of me."

Luke was amused, "You don't say Scorpio."

Tracy brought herself up with all the dignity that she could muster, "I fell down the stairs."

"Common thing in your house. Good thing no one is pregnant in the ole mansion." Luke commented.

"Oh do shut up." Tracy said. "Did you really tell Ned to go home. I really wanted to spend some time with him."

With a wicked grin Robert said, "That I did. Because I really wanted to spend time with you."

Tracy slapped her gloves on the bar, an amused Luke looking on, "That's it! I am calling the mayor and having you thrown off the force, You do not deserve to be protecting the citizens of Port Charles..."

The door opened and Ned breezed in, "Mother I am so sorry I am late. I tried calling you but your phone is off." Ned kissed Tracy on the cheek, "Let's go sit down." Ned led her to a table near Alexis and Scott and the two sat down.

Luke burst out laughing, "Scorpio, what kind of game are you playing?"

"Oh Ms. Quartermaine is attracted to me. You will see. I will have her mate."

Luke leaned forward, "Care to make a wager on that?"

"You are on. If I get the fair Ms Quartermaine to date me, then you give me one thousand dollars. If I fail by March 1st, I give you the thousand.." Robert grinned.

Luke contemplated him, "You are serious pal. You are on."

Liz was at the Nurse's Station when Emily came up and handed her a chart. She ignored Elizabeth but Elizabeth asked, "Emily, do you think you and I could talk? I really think we need too."

Emily sighed and said cautiously ,"I have a few minutes before Nikolas gets here. Let's go over to the couch." She led the way and waited for a slow moving Elizabeth to catch up. With hostility in her voice, she asked, "What do you want?"

"I want us to get past this. Can you please just let this go and let Lucky and I deal with this? I need all the friends I can get and you are my best friend." Elizabeth asked.

"Well I can't get past this." Emily stated, "I am supposed to be your best friend and yet you don't confide in me? I don't think so Elizabeth. Why didn't you tell me about you and Jason. I do believe that it was only one time."

    "Thank you." Elizabeth said

"Not so fast." Emily held up her hand, "Only because Jason told me that it was only one time. He never lies. I can't trust you anymore."

Elizabeth turned her face away from Emily and shot back, "Trust me? What have I done to you specifically that caused you to distrust me?"

Emily looked at Elizabeth in disgust, "I came over last week and you were in Nikolas' arms and laughing and crying. So now you don't have a man because Lucky doesn't want you back. Jason has moved on with Alison. So you need a man and you thought you would go after mine. I mean Nikolas has a lot of money and you can't even pay your bills. I can imagine you have set him in your sights."

Elizabeth looked at Emily in astonishment, "Are you insane?"

"No I am not and I want you to move out of Wyndemere. If you do that, I will help you get Lucky back." Emily responded angrily.

"I can get Lucky back on my own, thank you very much." Elizabeth snapped, "You are irrational Emily, I have no idea what has gotten into you."

Nikolas walked up to them, sensing the anger and tension between the two of them. "Emily, Elizabeth, what's going on?"

Emily whipped around and faced Nikolas, "I want Elizabeth to move out of Wyndemere. It's way past time that she move out. I don't understand why she can't move into Kelly's or someplace like that."

Nikolas calmly said, "Emily, Kelly's is too small for Elizabeth and Cameron, plus a new child on the way. Elizabeth is going to stay where she is as long as she wants. Elizabeth do you want to stay?"

"Just until my grandmother is better, than I will move in with her." Elizabeth explained.

"In fact, I have hired a nanny. You both know her well. Alison Barrington is a certified child care specialist and has nannied before. I want her to care for Spencer and I thought since Elizabeth is staying with me, Alison could help with Cameron as well. Until you get on your feet Elizabeth." Nikolas told them.

Emily was outraged, "You did this without consulting me? I am your fiancee Nikolas. When did you stop realizing this, was it when you had Elizabeth in your arms the other day?"

"What are you talking about Emily?" Nikolas said.

"If you don't know what I am talking about, then I don't think you know me very well." With that, Emily stormed off.

Alexis and Robert met each other at the police station entrance at the same time. They had both been called by the mayor to come down to meet him. Robert held open the door for Alexis, "Hello Alexis, how are you today?"

"OK Commissioner. Do you know what this is about?" Alexis asked, glancing at her watch. "I jsut got out of court and I have to get back. I have no idea how long this will be, do you?"

Robert led the way into the detectives area, "Your guess is as good as mine."

Exasperated, Alexis shook her hair, "I just hope that whatever it is it will be quick. I don't want to keep the judge waiting." She looked around the room. "Wonderful, he isn't even here."

Robert perched himself on Lucky Spencer's desk, "Young Spencer, do you know where the fine mayor is?"

Lucky looked around the room, irritated. "No Commissioner, I don't. Taggert! Do you know where the mayor is?"

Taggert looked up from the file he was working on. "I saw him go into the bathroom a couple minutes ago." He said nonchalantly.

Robert's cell phone rang. He unfolded it and barked a hello. He listened intently and his shoulders slumped. "Ok, thanks for calling." Alexis walked over. "Robert, what's going on?"

"It's Mac. He left rehab. No one knows where he is. The police are looking for him. I am going up there after this meeting and helping out, probably grab Luke as well to come help me find him. I have to call Robin and tell her." Robert said dejecetedly. "I just can't believe that Mac is behaving like this. Twenty years ago I would see this, but not now." He walked away from Alexis to call Robin.

Alexis glanced at her watch and walked up to Taggert, "Taggert, can you check the men's room for the mayor? Make sure he's ok?"

Taggert got up and shuffled across the room. When he reached the men's room, he pushed the door open. "Oh my God." He said. He fell to his knees and screamed, "Someone call the paramedics, the mayor isn't breathing!" Taggert started preforming CPR on the mayor.

Alexis and Robert came running and stood behind Taggert. "Oh dear God, he's dead." Alexis said.

Ned walked into Metro Court and walked across the lobby towards the elevators. He was whistling as he approached Lucy's penthouse. She had called him earlier and had invited him over for dinner. She said she was cooking but Ned found that hard to believe. He knocked on her door. He could hear her drop something and squeal and rush to the door. She opened the door and behind her he saw a smoldering roast. "Hi Lucy."

"Um Hi Ned. I was trying to cook a roast but well it didn't end so well." Lucy stood back, "Come in." She said. "Sorry I am a little frazzled."

"Lucy you have no reason to be frazzled. We have known each other forever. Why don't I order Chinese?" Ned said, loosening his tie and sitting down. He picked up his cell and ordered from a nearby restaurant.

"Ok. Do you want a drink?" Ned told Lucy what he wanted and she brought him his drink. " Thanks for ordering. How has your day been?"

Ned stretched his arm back over the couch, "Tiring. Grandfather has been after me about an ELQ deal that he wants completed and Tracy is after me about Brenda and James staying at the mansion. She wants them to leave and I keep saying no."

Lucy sat down and regarded him with narrowed eyes. "Why do you keep saying no? She's been back for a while and can certainly afford to live on her own. I used to pay her salary and I know her well. There is no way even Brenda could have gone through all the money I paid her."

"It's complicated Lucy." Ned sighed and scooted closer, "I appreciate you cooking dinner tonight." He said in an effort to change the subject. He looked deep in her eyes, "You have no idea what it feels like to have a beautiful, sexy, intelligent woman want to cook you dinner." He leaned in and kissed her. He put his hand in her hair and made love to her mouth, thouroughly kissing her over and over. His tongue carressed hers and he gently bit her lower lip. "Hmm, you taste good Lucy. Intoxicating."

The doorbell rang. The Chinese food was there. Lucy got up to get the food and Ned followed. After the delivery person left, Ned whispered, "Forget the food." He kissed her passionately and quickly pulled her panties down. Lucy's nimble fingers attacked the zipper of his pants and she moved to free him. He quickly entered her as they stood against the door. She moaned deeply and bit his neck as she came seconds before he did.

Lucy purred, "Well , I think we should go to the bedroom for a bit., don't you."

Ned picked up the food, "All right Lucy..."

Brenda looked up from the table into Sonny's eyes. "Yes, Ned is James' father." Brenda sighed. "Robin is the only other person that knows besides Ned. No one in his family knows."

Stunned to his core, Sonny stammered, "But how, when? I mean, are you and Ned?'

Brenda quickly shook her head, "No, no. We aren't involved. Never have been." Brenda took a gulp of her wine, "Look Sonny, can we go in the living room? I will tell you everything on the promise that you won't tell anyone! And I mean Jason as well."

Sonny held up his hand and stood up, grabbing his glass of wine in the process, "You have my word. I want you to know that you can trust me and I know that I have to earn your trust."

Brenda sat Indian style on the couch and started to speak. "Ned came over to visit me in Paris. He was lonely and so was I. He was having some problems with Lois and Brook Lynn and they had just left Port Charles again. He said that Lois was like a brand new person to him and he didn't even recognize her. Things at ELQ weren't going well and Tracy was driving him crazy. I had just broken up with a man named Phillipe a couple months earlier. I met Ned at the airport the first night he arrived and we went to dinner."

"Over many drinks and tears and commiserating, Ned ended up back at my apartment. We were two best friends who fell into bed together. it just happened. It was a few times and after a week he came back to Port Charles. A few weeks later, I realized I was late and called Ned. He immediately flew over and we discussed everything. Right from the start we both wanted this baby. Ned was adamant that his family not know that James is a Quartermaine. He cites himself, AJ, Jason, and Dillion and their rotten childhoods. He wants to be involved in James' life but he doesn't want everyone else to know. I agreed to that. I take no money from him. Ned was there when James was born and for a month straight afterward. We are not involved though since that one week."

Sonny sat back, stunned into silence. He just stared at Brenda for a few minutes and said quietly, "Thank you for telling me this and trusting me with this. You know I will not tell anyone." He took a drink, "You and Ned have no custody agreement?" When Brenda shook her head, he asked, "Why?"

"Ned is my best friend. He has always been there for me so we agreed that I would come back to live in the States and he would help raise him. If Ric finds out about this, I don't want him using it against me to hurt James."

"Brenda, do you really think that will happen? Honestly? You and Ned can work things out, I know you can. Ned isn't an ogre." Sonny paused, "But you should talk to a lawyer about the custody."

Brenda let her head fall forward and her hair fell over her face, "No I don't think it will come to that." She whipped her head back and her hair fell into place, "You know Sonny, it felt good confiding in you. I am at a place in my life where I know I can trust you. If this was ten years ago, things would be much different."

"I know." Sonny opened his arms and said, "Come here Brenda." Brenda slowly got up and walked over to stand in front of Sonny's chair. Sonny leaned back so that he was almost laying in the chair. He reached up behind Brenda and wedged her between his legs. She stood, locked between his legs as his eyes stared into hers. He slowly, sensually brought his hands to her sides and started to carress her. He reached under her shirt and teased her belly with his skilled fingers. Brenda's eyes closed as she gave into his touch. He released her breasts from the restraints of her bra and molded them in his hands, teasing her nipples so that they hardened in his hands. He released her breasts and his fingers trailed down her belly and to her panties. "Do you want me Brenda?" He lightly dragged his fingers over her pubis and whispered, "Tell me, do you want me?"

Brenda was shaking with desire and nodded. She positioned herself on top of him and kissed him deeply. Over and over she kissed him as desire for Sonny spread through her. She reached down and unbuttoned his shirt, kissing and nipping his chest. Unconsciously she had already started to ride him. "Don't rush this Brenda. I've been waiting forever to make love to you." Sonny breathed. Brenda moaned and greedily kissed him and felt his chest. She could feel his rock hard shaft digging into her thigh. "Sonny, I need you, I want you."

Sonny groaned and stood up, Brenda's legs wrapped around him. He brought her to the couch and he quickly stripped. She quickly disposed of her clothes and lay naked below him. She licked her fingers and reached for his shaft, feeling it harden even more in her hand. He leaned down and kissed her until she was breathless, then devoured her breasts with his mouth. She started to move under him with her need, "Come on Sonny, please." She demanded, "Make love to me."

Sonny didn't need to be asked again. He entered her swiftly and her hips rose up to meet him. They fell into the familiar rythm for the past. Brenda grasped his ass and arched her back, moaning as he thrust into her. Both broke into a sweat as they continued to make love. Sonny grabbed her and rolled her over so that she was on top. Never breaking her stride she continued to ride him hard. Sonny rolled her over on her back again and with three final thrusts, they came together with muffled screams.

Sonny reached over and gathered her in his arms. Still breathing heavy he said, "This is it Brenda. I want you in my life. I said it to you once before. You are like my drug, I can't get enough of you. I want us to try again."

Brenda snuggled against him, completely satisified, "I think we can work something out."

"Oh you think we can work something out do you?" Sonny said playfully, as he reached out to tickle her "I think we just did."

"Hmmmm, maybe I need a bit more convincing." Brenda smiled into his chest.

Sonny leaned down and kissed her soundly on the mouth, "I will give you paradise Brenda. Anything you want."

"Hmmm, that sounds good." Brenda stretched and kissed Sonny. "I have to go home though, it's getting late. Do you think we can see each other tomorrow?"

Sonny pulled Brenda closer, "Don't go just yet, I want to hold you some more. We will see each other tomorrow and the day after that and after that. I have some meetings but after that we can meet. I'll call you." He leaned over and kissed her as she snuggled closer. Soon they drifted off in a light sleep.

It was well after midnight when Brenda and Ned met at the door at the Quartermaines. Both were startled to see the other there. They looked at each other, opened their mouths and closed them quickly when Dillion approached. "Hey, what's going on?"

Ned answered, "Um, just coming home."

Brenda clammed up as well. "I was out as well. What about you Dillion? Isn't it kind of late for you?"

Ned turned to Dillion, "Yeah Dillion, it is rather late. Where were you?"

"Out with a friend." came Dillion's quick reply.

"Ahhhh, with a friend." said Brenda knowingly. "Well your secret is safe with us Dillion."

Jason and Alison were having breakfast, talking about her conversation with Emily at Wyndemere when the phone rang. Jason picked it up and was surprised to hear Brenda's voice. "Brenda? Is everything all right with Sonny? What's going on?"

"It's not Sonny, he's fine. It's Alan." Brenda said in a low voice. "He's having some serious pains. I know you have problems with the Quartermaines, but you probably should get down to the hospital." Brenda paused, "Jason, it's very serious. Put away any animosity and go see the man that raised you even though you can't recall it, he can. From what I was told, it may be very serious."

Jason sighed heavily. "Ok, I know. Let me get dressed and I will be right there." Jason hung up the phone and looked at Alison. "It's Alan. He's very sick and I need to go to the hospital. Brenda wouldn't call me if it wasn't true."

"I know Jason. I have to get to Nikolas' anyway to take care of Cameron and Spencer. Let me know if you need me." Alison kissed him briefly.

"I will." He said as he headed out the door.

Patrick had just finished with his first surgery and was cleaning up when a nurse came in and told him about Alan. Immediately he went over to a phone and called Robin. She answered the phone, sounding out of breath. "Hello."

"Robin it's me. I have to tell you something." Patrick said in a very serious voice.

Robin sat down in a chair and whispered, "It's not my father or Mac is it?" From the tone of his voice she knew something was wrong. "What's going on Patrick?"

"It's Alan Quartermaine. He was brought to the ER with possible chest pains. I am going down there to see what I can do before my next surgery. One of the nurses told me that my father is already there." Patrick relayed.

Robin got up and grabbed her keys, "I'll be right there."

Alan had fallen into a light sleep. Noah and Monica were looking at the EKG and CAT scan and had concluded that he didn't have a heart attack. "Monica, you did the right thing getting him down here as fast as possible. The cold foot was the tip off. It is an aortic aneuryism. We will have to perform surgery in the next few hours, maybe even wait until tomorrow since it was caught so fast. I will need a cardiologist in there with me and I will not have you."

Patrick had walked in and was looking at the scans. "I agree that it is an aneuryism. I would assist but I have another surgery that will take me at least six hours. I will be too tired to do this surgery."

Monica looked at both men and spoke strongly. "I will assist. He is my husband and I want to be there."

"No you won't." Noah said. "You need to be there for your family and for Alan. You know the risks involved here. You should also get in touch with any family members that aren't here because the next 48 hours are critical. Monica, you know this." Noah looked at Patrick. "I know a doctor in Pine Valley who is very good, in fact Robin knows him. Dr David Hayward is world reowned and has saved many lives. He is the doctor we need here to help us with Alan."

"How does Robin know him?" Monica asked.

"He was her stepfather for a short time. He was married to Anna a few years back. I am positive if Robin called him he would come." Patrick said.

"Monica, why don't you tell Alan what is going on and we will tell the rest of your family. I believe that they are in the private waiting room. We will keep them separated from everyone else." Noah said.

Patrick said to Monica, "I have to go back upstairs. I have another surgery that I have to prep for. Dad, let me know how it comes out."

"Ok." Monica went into Alan's room and held his hand while he slept and the Dr Drake went in the waiting room to see Edward, Tracy, Emily, Ned, Dillion and even Jason there.

"Noah, what do you know about my son?" Edward blustered. "What's going on?"

Noah and Patrick sat down. "He has an aortic aneurysm in the main blood vessel to his heart. He will need surgery, hopefully today if possible. He needs to be stabilized first."

Tracy broke in, "Oh dear God, not Alan!" Tears started to roll down her face.

Edward's eyes filled with tears, "How serious is this?"

"The next 48 hours are critical. I would suggest if there is any family not present that you contact them and have them here as soon as possible. This is a life threatening procedure. We have to make sure that the aneurysm doesn't burst. There is a doctor out of Pine Valley named Dr David Hayward that I would like to contact to come assist me with this procedure. Dr Scorpio knows him well." Noah paused to let this sink in. "I am sure that if Dr Scorpio contacts him, that he will come."

Edward looked at Noah, "I need to make a couple phone calls to check out this Dr Hayward. This is my son that we are putting in this stranger's hand and I want to make sure that he is a good doctor. Where can I use a phone?" Edward stood up and blustered.

"I will bring you to an office where you will have some privacy." Noah said.

Edward turned to Ned, "Call that ne'er do well son of Alan's home. He needs to be here. I will contact Skye."

Ned nodded as Edward followed Noah into a small office. He picked up his phone and dialed information for Chandler Industries. He told the secretary who he was and that it was an emergency and that he needed to speak to his old friend Adam Chandler.

"Edward my friend!" Adam's gruff voice came over the phone line. "What can I do for you?"

"Adam I need you to tell me about David Hayward. Is he a good doctor?"

Adam's voice turned angry. "What has that scoundrel done to you Edward? I swear I could kill him with my own two hands if..

"Adam, I need to know if he is a good doctor!" Edward's voice broke as he yelled into the phone. "It's my son and he needs surgery. If JR or Little A needed lifesaving surgery, would you trust Dr Hayward to do it."

Adam's voice softened, "Oh God Edward. Alan is such a good man. Yes, David is many things but he is a good, dedicated doctor who will save his patients. Does Skye know?"

"Can you tell her? I'm going to have Robin Scorpio call David then and ask him to come up here." Edward said, his head hanging.

"Edward, I will fly them up to Port Charles on my plane. They can be here within the hour." Adam said. "Let me know how it goes."

"Thank you Adam." Edward hung up the phone and stared out the window. He shouldn't have to be in this position. Parents shouldn't outlive their children. He stood up and walked to the door and said to Noah. "Have Robin call him in." Edward walked back to his family, sat down and cried.

Robin walked into the waiting room where the Quartermaines were assembled. Everyone looked up, fear on their faces as she stood at the door. "I just wanted to let you know that I have contacted Dr Hayward. He has agreed to come up here to help with the surgery. Adam Chandler's plane will be lifting off shortly and Skye has been notified. She will be arriving with Dr Hayward." Robin paused. "I am so sorry that this is happening. I admire Alan so. Please let me know if I can do anything."

Ned spoke up, "Robin, can you do me a favor? Can you call Brenda and have her come here with James?" Robin nodded and left the room to make the phone call.

"Now why are you calling Brenda here?" Tracy demanded. "This is for family only and quite frankly I am in no mood for her little brat to be here. We already have AJ coming soon, thank God he was able to charter a plane. I can only take so many brats in one place."

"Can it Tracy." Jason spoke quietly, the first time he had spoken since he had gotten there.

Tracy whipped around, "What did you say to me?"

"You heard me. I think it might be a good distraction. Plus Brenda will be able to help us out if need be." Jason stated, eyes forward. "Monica will be coming out soon and please, no fighting. She doesn't need World War Three going on in here."

"Jason's right, Mother." Dillion said. "Just let it go. Brenda can at least contact people if need be."

"Edward, what do you think?" Tracy asked her father.

Edward was sitting in a corner. He waved his hand and said quietly, "I don't care about anything right now except that my son survives. The PCU marching band could be in here if it will guarentee my son's survival."

Monica opened the door, tears coming down her face. "Oh my God No!" Tracy screeched.

Monica looked like she had aged twenty years in the last few hours. "No, he's ok for now. Alan is stabilized and he will have the surgery today. Robin told me that AJ and Skye are on their way home, right?" Ned told her yes, "Alan wants to see you all before the surgery. Only a couple minutes though. I don't want to tire him out so do you mind going in together? Ned and Dillion, will you go first?"

Dillion and Ned followed Monica to where Alan lay hooked up to many machines and IV's. They tried not to show their shock at how pale he was. One of the machines showed the aneuryism, which looked like the size of a tennis ball. "Alan?" Ned whispered. "Are you awake?"

Alan reached out his hand and grasped Ned's. "Ned, if I don't make it through this, please watch out for my father. He is going to need a strong person behind him. I would ask you to watch out for Monica, but I don't want you near her. That will be Dillion's job, ok? That and watching out for Tracy. I love you both very much, even if I don't show it very often."

Dillion choked back tears, "Of course Alan."

"You will make it through this Alan, you have the best team behind you." Ned said in a calm, strong voice. "Dillion will you give me a minute with Alan?"

"Sure. Be strong Alan." Dillion backed out of the room and Ned looked into Alan's eyes. "I want to tell you something but I want you to keep it a secret. I know you will come out of this but I want to give you something more to live for. AJ is on his way back in case you didn't know. Hopefully you will see him before surgery. What I am about to tell you, my mother doesn't even know and I don't want her to know. James, Brenda's son is also mine."

Alan smiled weakly. "Ned, thank you for trusting me enough to tell me that. I can see why you wouldn't want everyone to know. I won't tell anyone, even Monica. Can you please send Emily and Jason in here?"

Ned walked out and moitioned for Jason and Emily to go see Alan. When they reached his room, Emily burst into tears. Alan held out his hand and Emily leaned over and kissed him. "Thank you Dad for welcoming me into your family and loving me so much. I learned so much from you and love you very much." She backed away and let Jason sit down.

"Jason, there is so much you don't remember. I was a bad father to you at times but I love you very much." Alan said in a strained voice, "I have so many regrets with you and I wish I could fix so much. Whatever you have become, I am proud that you are my son and I vow to always stand behind you."

Jason squeezed Alan's hand, "I know you do Alan. What's past is past. We can only move forward."

"Thank you so much for being here. Your mother will appreciate your strength as will Emily. They will need you Jason."

Emily and Jason exited the room. "Jason I can't go back in there quite yet. I will be back in a minute." Emily walked towards to ladies room where she ran into Elizabeth and Brenda.

"Emily, I am so sorry for Alan. How is he doing?" Elizabeth asked, concerned.

Emily wiped her eyes, "He's ok. Brenda, you can go through those doors. Ned is waiting for you." She paused as Brenda made her way into the waiting room. "It is very serious Elizabeth."

"I know. I called Nikolas as soon as I heard and he will be here soon. I thought you might want him here." Elizabeth said.

"Well, you thought wrong." Emily stated. "Stop butting into my life and don't let him into the room, got it? Or I will have you fired from this hospital."

Elizabeth was taken aback. "Ok Emily, I am sorry. I was just trying to help."

"You are not helping in the least. Just stay away from and my family and that includes my fiance." Emily turned on her heels and walked away. She left a stunned Elizabeth and Nikolas, who had just walked up.

"Well Alan, are you trying to take all the attention from me again?" Tracy smiled through her tears as she sat down across from Alan. "Alan, this isn't suppossed to happen to you."

"Thank God there are no pills around." Alan tried to joke.

    Tracy grimaced, "Low blow Alan."

"I had to get one in before I go." Alan said.

Tracy grabbed his hand and said in a determined voice, "Listen here Alan, you will not be "going" anywhere. You will have this surgery and you will be fine. Then you and I will be back to normal and insulting each other as usual, with your wife threatening to throw me out of the house. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal. Tracy I am getting really tired. Can you send Father in here?" Alan said quietly. "And Tracy, you know that even though you and I fight a lot, I do love you a lot. You certainly make life interesting."

Tracy leaned over and kissed him. "He will be right in." Tracy walked out and into the waiting room. She walked up to her father and threw her arms around him, crying. Ned extricated her so that Edward could go see Alan.

"Oh Father, you probably look worse than me." Alan said when Edward walked into the room.

Edward settled himself in the chair next to Alan's bed. "Oh Son. This shouldn't be happening. It should be me here, not you. The parent is supposed to go before the child. This can't be happening Alan, it can't be." Edward's eyes began to tear up.

Alan reached over and brushed his father's hair back. "Father, I am a stubborn old mule, just like you. I will make it through this and then I will start the treatments to get better. Everything will work out Father."

"Alan, I feel like I have screwed up your life so many times. I screwed up all the grandkids. Look at Jason's. God forbid AJ. I am sorry you won't be able to see Michael." Edward said ashe grasped Alan's hand.

"I wouldn't want Michael to see me like this. I am not going to be my suave, debonair self when I come out of this. Oh Father, please know that whatever has happened, I love you very much."

Edward choked back his tears, "I love you too son. Look, I will let you rest. If AJ or Skye get here soon, we will send them in to see you. Remember, we all love you."

Edward walked out and leaned against the wall. It was then that he gave into his tears and cried.

Skye rushed into the waiting room and ran to Ned. "Is he ok? Can I see him?"

Ned sat Skye down next to him and Brenda, "Monica is in with him right now. Now that Dr Hayward is here, he will go under anesthesia very shortly. Dr Hayward has to meet with Dr Drake and they will go over everything and brief Monica, who will tell us everything. But the surgery will start shortly I assume. He looked very weak when I saw him."

"David told me all about these aneuryisms. He has treated them many times before and has been successful with them. I don't care for David on a personal level, but he is a good doctor." Skye told everyone after she said hello to everyone. "Brenda, is that your child?"

"Yes. His name is James Edward. I hear you have a child as well. Where is she?" Brenda responded.

"I left him with Leticia, I hope you don't mind. I didn't think this was the place for a child." Skye said.

Tracy interjected, "At least someone, even if it is Skye has some common sense."

    "Mother." Ned warned.

There was a commotion at the door and it flung open. "Where is my father?" AJ demanded, Sarah Webber at his side.

    4 p.m.
“Good afternoon, this is Tiffany Hill reporting live from the campaign headquarters of Ric Lansing. How are you today Mr Lansing? How do you think your chances are in this historic three person race?” Tiffany, clad in a navy blue suit, smoothly asked.

Ric, dressed in an Armani suit, answered with a polished smile, “Well Ms. Hill, I am feeling very confident in my chances today. I know the voters will pick the best candidate.”

Tiffany stuck her microphone in Ric’s face, “What about the grassroots campaign for Laura Spencer? Exit polls are saying that she is right up there with you and Mr. Baldwin. This could be a very tight race Mr. Lansing.”

“This is why, Ms Hill.” Ric smoothed down his suit and smiled, “I urge all the voters to go out and vote today. Vote for the best candidate, myself Ric Lansing.”

“Thank you Mr Lansing, and good luck today.” Tiffany said as Ric walked away. “Clear.” Tiffany said. “Let’s go see if we can find Scott Baldwin and get a few words from him.”

An hour later, Tiffany and her crew pulled up to Scott Baldwin’s campaign headquarters. She jumped out of her van and walked in. Up ahead, she saw Scott and approached him. “Mr Baldwin, may I have a few words with you?”

Scott turned around and faced Tiffany, “Hello Tiffany, I would be happy to talk to you.” He flirted, “How are you today?”

“I am well Mr Baldwin. Now, Mr Baldwin, how do you feel about your chances in the election tonight?” Tiffany coolly responded.

With a grin on his face, Scott replied, “Well Tiff, I feel that we all have an equal chance with the voters tonight. The voters will vote according to who they feel is the best for the job. I hope they see that with my background and experience, I will serve the people of Port Charles to the best of my ability.”

“Very good Mr Baldwin. What do you think are the chances of Laura Spencer? She has mounted an impressive campaign.” Tiffany asked.

“Indeed she has.” Scott smiled, “But I have to wonder, does she have what it takes in the cutthroat world of politics that make up Port Charles? Yes she runs a non profit organization and runs it well. But to run the large organization that is our city government is a large undertaking. I don’t think she can handle it.”

Tiffany asked, “And you think you are qualified?”

“As a former district attorney, I do. I know how this city runs. I ask all the voters to vote for Baldwin. You won’t be disappointed. If you will excuse me Ms. Hill.” Scott walked away.

“Great soundbites Tiffany.” Her producer said. “When do you want to go to the Spencer headquarters?”

“Let’s go when the polls close at seven. We may have a true underdog story here.” Tiffany brushed her hair back. “Let’s go get something to eat, it may be a long night.”

    7pm

    MetroCourt ~ The Spencer Headquarters

In the ballroom at MetroCourt, a large stage was assembled. On the stage, Carly turned on one of the large screen TVs that she had rented for the event. Hundreds of volunteers and friends were gathered there in hopes of a Spencer win.

Laura arrived and made her way through the crowd, shaking hands as she went. Luke followed behind, the proud husband. Tiffany stopped Laura. “Laura Spencer! How are you tonight?” Tiffany’s microphone was catching every word.

Laura beamed, “I am so happy by the turnout tonight. I can’t believe all the support that we have received! Thank you to everyone!” She shouted. The crowd shouted back their approval.

Sonny and Brenda, hands clasped, came up next to Luke. “Congratulations buddy. I hope she wins.” Sonny commented.

Luke couldn’t stop smiling, “Just look at her. Isn’t she amazing.” Luke asked rhetorically.

Tiffany stuck the microphone in Laura’s face. “Mrs Spencer, the polls coming back show that you have a slight lead over Scott Baldwin with only 5% of the precincts returning. What do you have to say about that?”

“Well, the night is still young. Scott Baldwin and Ric Lansing are formidable opponents. It could go anyway at this point.” Laura said as she turned to wish Robin and Patrick well and thank them for their support.

“This is Tiffany Hill, here at the Spencer Headquarters. We will be back when we have more results in this Mayoral Race.” Tiffany waited until she was clear and turned to Laura. “I know I am not supposed to say this, but I hope you win. In fact, I think you will.”

“Thanks Tiff.” Laura said as Monica came up to her. “Monica, how is Alan?” Laura asked, immediately concerned.

Looking very tired, Monica replied, “He’s had his set backs. But he is doing ok. Carly brought Michael by today to visit and that brightened his spirits. Jason has also brought Ava to visit, oh she is just precious.”

Laura clasped her hands, “I have been thinking of both of you.”

Robert sidled up to Luke, “Hey there Spencer. I hope she wins.”

“Look at her. She is incandescent.” Luke said proudly.

Carly and Bobbie were on top of the stage. Bobbie turned on the microphone and called for the Spencers and Nikolas to come to the stage. When Laura, Luke, Lucky, Nikolas and Lulu reached the stage, Bobbie announced, “Laura, there is a phone call for you.” Laura picked up the phone and listened.

Laura hung up the phone and turned to the microphone. “50% of the precincts are in and we have 48% of the vote. Scott Baldwin has 30% and Ric Lansing has 22% of the vote. That phone call was Ric Lansing, calling to concede the election!” Cheers erupted through the crowd.

Brenda turned to Sonny and said, “I am just going to run outside for a minute to call Leticia. I want to check on James.”

Sonny kissed Brenda, “Don’t be long.” Brenda threaded her way through the crowd and made her way outside. Once outside she opened up her cell phone and heard a noise. Looking up, she said, “Hey you look...” She was then hit on the head with the butt of a gun. Falling unconscious, Brenda slid to the ground as the person kept right on walking without breaking stride.

The TV behind Laura changed with 75% of the precincts coming back and Laura having a 50% lead. The phone rang and she answered. Again she hung up and hugged and kissed Luke. Luke announced, “That was Scott Baldwin, conceding the race for Mayor! Laura Spencer has won! Thank you everyone!”

Laura stepped to the podium and stated, “I want to thank first and foremost, my family. Luke, my husband. Oh, I don’t know what I would do without you urging me on. You are my reason for being. My two sons, Nikolas and Lucky, you bring such joy into my life. Lulu, with all my heart I love you.

“Thank you to all the volunteers who helped get my word out there. I want you to know that I appreciate all that you have done, this win would not have happened without you. I will work hard for the people of Port Charles. I am making this promise to the voters and I intend to keep it!” Laura, Luke, Lucky, Nikolas and Lulu grabbed hands and raised them high.

No one saw the person silently slip into the ballroom and stand at the back watching the Spencers. The person raised a gun and squeezed off four shots, one at Luke, one at Laura, one at Lucky and one at Lulu. Bodies fell, and the person slipped into the night.

Lucky is standing in the door of the living room surveying the scene in front of him. He is at Wyndemere and sees Elizabeth holding Ava. Cameron is at her feet playing with Spencer. Nikolas is sitting close to her and they are sharing a secret smile. Lucky can’t believe it when it looks like Nikolas is leaning in for a kiss.

Lucky loudly clears his throat. “Good morning. Mom asked me to come talk to you. She is going to talk to the media today and she is worried about Lulu.” Lucky completely ignores Elizabeth.

Nikolas jumps up like someone lit a fire under him. Elizabeth blushes, but continues to sit down. “Is Lulu all right? How is Laura?”

“Laura is doing fine. She will be out of the hospital in a couple days. Why aren’t you there anyway?” Without waiting for an answer he continued, “As for Lulu she is very shaken up Nikolas. What do you expect?” He said scornfully. “Or are you too busy trying to get into my wife’s pants to even notice your sister?” Lucky throws a demeaning glance in Liz’s direction, “God Elizabeth, Emily was so right about you.”

Ava started to cry and Elizabeth stood up to walk around with her, cooing as she went. “Lucky, I just had a baby. Please, let me be. And leave Emily out of this”

“Emily has been my friend for a long time. You always came after me for betraying you when all this time you betrayed me as well. What gave you the right to judge me Elizabeth?” Lucky demanded.

“Ok, enough.” Nikolas said sternly. “The important thing is Lulu. Where is she?”

Lucky sighed, “You are right. Lulu is the priority here. She won’t leave the hospital. I have tried to get her out, but….”

Nikolas turned to Elizabeth, “Alison will be here soon. Will you be all right until then?”

Elizabeth nodded as Lucky shook his head at her. Nikolas and Lucky left together, leaving Elizabeth with the three children.

Brenda rolls over and kisses Sonny’s forearm. She was still a little stiff from her fall and stayed at Sonny’s that night. James was still asleep and she relished the quiet time with Sonny. She began to trail her fingers up and down his naked body. His body started to stir. Sonny was not yet fully awake but that didn’t stop Brenda. She gracefully straddled his body and eased herself slowly down onto his hard shaft. She slowly moved up and down, tightening her muscles around him. He started to respond by moving with her, still not fully awake. She raked her fingernails over his chest and followed them with her tongue. His eyes opened as he spontaneously came inside her.

“Damn Brenda, this is how I want to wake up every day!” Sonny mumbled. “Are you ok? You sleep ok? I know yesterday was rough on you.”

Brenda rolled off and he clasped his arms around her. “I am good. I am worried about the DNA test though. I know I shouldn’t be, but I am just afraid Ned is going to use something against me.”

“Like what?” Sonny kissed her shoulder.

“Like the time I was institutionalized because I thought everyone was after me because of you.” Brenda sighed. “He helped me get through that and I am afraid he will try to use that to prove that I am an unfit mother.”

Sonny tightened his arms around her, “Scott will use everything in his power to make sure that doesn’t happen. I pay him a lot of money to protect me and that includes you.”

James started to cry and Brenda stood up. Sonny admired her body as she put her bathrobe on. Brenda picked up James and sat on the bed. She reached into her bag for some food for him and started to feed him.

“Sonny!” Carly pushed open the door, “I hope you are dressed. Michael and Morgan are here so you can take them to the zoo today!” Carly stopped dead in her tracks as she caught sight of a post coital Sonny and Brenda. Waves of jealousy hit Carly like never before. “What the hell is going on here?”

Scott walked up the steps to the courthouse in search for Alexis. He knew she was in court today. He was hoping to catch her on a break. He slipped inside Courtroom 3 and waited for the Judge to call for a recess. After a half hour, the Judge recessed and Scott made his way up to Alexis’ table.

    “Counselor.”

“Oh Scott.” Alexis took her glasses off, “What’s going on? Is everything ok?”

Scott looked at a frazzled Alexis, “Everything is fine Alexis. I haven’t heard anything. Why are you even here?”

Alexis sat in her chair, “I have a job I have to do. I know my daughter is out there and I don’t know what I can do. I have to focus on this or I will go crazy.”

“Understandable.” Scott remarked, looking around. “I was wondering Alexis if you, uh, needed any help with anything.”

    “Like what?” Alexis said suspiciously.

Scott stepped closer, “Look Alexis I know you are under a lot of stress and I want to make sure you are taking care of yourself. I will look for Sam if you want me too. I will cook dinner for you.” Scott paused, “Ok, I will order dinner for you since I can’t cook. What I am trying to say is that I am here for you. Just say the word.”

Alexis softened and reached her hand out to grasp his, “I know and thanks.”

Luke stood next to Laura’s hospital bed. Laura was pale, but determined. “Luke, I am going to do this. I am going to prove to Helena that she cannot and will not take us Spencers down. Now Tiffany, I am ready.”

Luke stepped away as Tiffany stepped forward with her camera crew. Laura looked straight into the camera and spoke with a clear, calm and controlled voice.

“Good Afternoon Port Charles. This is your Mayor, Laura Spencer. I want to address some things that have happened in the last couple of days. On Election Night, my family was shot at. I was hit, my husband Luke was hit and my son Lucky was hit twice. I want to assure all of you that my family is fine. I also want to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers. My family appreciates your good thoughts.

“The police force has formed a task force to get the woman who is behind the attempted murders of my family. The Task Force will be led by Former WSB Agent and Police Commissioner Robert Scorpio, a dear friend of my family. The woman who is the mastermind behind this is Helena Cassadine. I ask all of you if you see Helena Cassadine or Samantha McCall to please contact the Task Force. Call them at the number at the bottom of your screen. It will be completely anonymous.

“This message is for you Helena.” Laura’s eyes narrowed, “Whatever curse you think you have put on our family, think again. My husband, my daughter and my TWO sons are my family and you will never break us apart try as you may. We Spencers will always come out on top. Helena, you will NEVER get us down.”

“Patrick!” Robin ran into the living room to see Patrick sitting on the couch watching NASCAR. “Patrick, our guests are going to be arriving soon and I need your help. Can you help me with the hor d’oerves?”

Patrick eases himself off the couch and follows Robin into the kitchen. “We did a great job cleaning.”

Robin throws him a sidelong glance, “No, I did a great job cleaning. You were at the hospital while I polished and dusted and washed the floor.” Robin leaned up and kissed him. “Will you take these out to the living room and put them on tables please?”

“Sure thing.” Patrick took some plates of shrimp and stuffed mushrooms into the large living room. He came back into the kitchen and looked at all the food. There was a plate filled with sandwiches, a veggie plate, various cheeses, a green salad, a rotini salad, scallops wrapped in bacon, crème puffs, chocolate mints, a fruit tart and various cheesecakes. “Wow Robin, this is a lot of food.”

Robin looked up absently, “Brenda said Sonny is going to bring lasagna too, both veggie and meat lasagna. He is so particular about his lasagna. Do you think we have enough? I have coolers of drinks throughout the house so I think we have enough wine, beer and soft drinks.”

The doorbell rang and Patrick kissed her, “We have enough. You look hot but take that apron off and I will go get the door. It is probably Brenda anyway.” Patrick walked through the house and opened the door, greeting Sonny, Brenda, James and Jason. He told them to make themselves at home and Robin would be right out.

Soon all their guests started to arrive. Nikolas, Elizabeth and Lulu arrived together as had Emily and Lucky. Robert and Mac came together with Luke who promised Robin that he could only stay a few minutes before getting back to the hospital. Noah came with Bobbie and an uninvited Carly. The last to arrive were Lainey, Justus, Edward, Tracy, Ned and Lucy.

Brenda sidled up to Robin and whispered, “You will not believe what happened yesterday. Sonny and I were, you know, done and Carly comes barging in like she owned the place. Thank God I had my bathrobe on, but Sonny didn’t.”

Robin gave a horrified laugh, “Oh my God Brenda, what did you do?” She took a sip of her wine.

“The only thing I could do, I just sat there with a smile on my face while Sonny yelled at her to get the hell out. She was early bringing Michael and Morgan over and I was going to be gone by then.” Brenda popped a shrimp in her mouth, “I shouldn’t be eating these but I am going to anyways. So she called me a tramp like always and I asked her how it was like to always have my seconds. She really didn’t like that. I even mentioned that I had Jax on speed dial and I wondered how he would like it if he knew she was barging into Sonny’s bedroom like she was queen of the mansion. James then started to cry and Sonny kicked her out. It was a lovely scene. Keep me far away from her. Promise me that?”

“I will. Bobbie brought her I think, I can’t exactly say go home you aren’t welcome. I have to go mingle though. I want to go see Robert and Luke.” Robin walked away, laughing.

In a corner, Mac was sitting with Bobbie. “Bobbie, I don’t know how you do it sometimes. I still have trouble getting up in the morning. The last thing I see before I go to bed is Maxie and Felicia..”

Bobbie reached out and grasped his hand. “I know. The last thing I will ever see for the rest of my life when I close my eyes at night is my precious BJ. It’s tough and you have to get through it. There are other people in your life who count on you.”

    “That’s true.”

“Look at what you did with Robin. You took her in and she is an amazing doctor. Yes Robert is her biological father, but you raised her.” Bobbie squeezed his hand, “You have a lot to be proud of Mac Scorpio.”

Mac looked down at the soda in his hands, “It gets hard sometimes.”

“Well that settles it, you are coming to dinner at the Brownstone this week and I am not taking no for an answer.” Bobbie said smartly.

Jason was talking to Elizabeth when Carly strode across the room and interrupted. “Jason, I need to talk to you right now. It’s important.” She completely ignored Elizabeth.

Jason crossed his arms and turned to Carly, “Carly with you it is always an emergency. I am trying to have a conversation here. Can it wait? We can talk later.”

Carly threw a disdainful look at Elizabeth, “No it can’t. It’s important.”

Elizabeth laid her hand on Jason’s arm, “It’s ok. Just come over to Wyndemere after the party and you can see Ava.” With that Elizabeth walked away.

“God Jason, what ever possessed you to sleep with her?” Carly demanded. “I can’t believe you are even here with Sam on the loose.”

“Carrrllllyyyy. This better be good.” Jason said coolly.

Carly raked her fingers through her hair, “It is. What is going on with Sonny? I walked into the Penthouse and he obviously just had sex with that tramp Brenda. You have to convince him she is not right for him.” Carly said angrily, nostrils flaring, “You are the only one he will listen too. She will hurt him again. The father of that child will come forward and Brenda will go running back to him.”

Jason attempted to walk away but Carly grabbed his arm, “Look Carly, this is none of your business. You married Jax. Are you upset that Sonny has moved on or that he has moved on with Brenda?”

“Stop it Jason.” Carly hissed. “I just don’t want to see Sonny get hurt.”

Jason shrugged off Carly’s arm and walked away, “Right Carly.”

It was an hour into the party and the doorbell rang again. Laughing at something her father said, Robin went to answer the door. The latecomers were AJ and Sarah.

“I hope you don’t mind that we are late. My shift just got over at the hospital and we went to see Alan.” Sarah explained.

Robin ushered them in. “No, no, I am glad you were able to make it. Please come in.” Robin hugged AJ, “I am so glad you are back in town. Now have some food, have some drink.”

Sarah held up a plant. “We brought you a gift.” She was holding flowers.

“Oh Sarah, you didn’t have too. Thank you very much. I am so glad you are back and that you are happy with AJ. AJ is a wonderful guy.”

    “Thanks Robin.” AJ said.

“Have you seen my sister?” Sarah asked, “I was wondering if she brought our niece with her.”

Robin pointed towards the living room, “Elizabeth is in there with Nikolas I think. Go make yourselves at home!”

Sarah’s eyes narrowed as she walked into the living room. Today, her revenge against Patrick would begin.

Alan is sitting up in his bed at the hospital. He is anxious to be leaving soon but the doctors won’t allow him. He is still very weak and needs a lot more rehabilitation. Alan sighs and grabs a glass of water. When the water dribbles out of his mouth, he tries to throw the cup across the room. However, it falls to the floor and doesn’t break. He tries to yell in frustration when Emily walks in “Dad, what’s going on?” Emily asks anxiously.

“I want to get out of here. Hate it here.” Alan speaks slowly nad has to make an effort to ennunciate.

Emily pulls up a chair and sits down next to him. “Dad, you know we have to do this. You have to get better. You are the glue that holds all us Quartermaines together.” Emily smiles and kisses his cheek, “I myself need you to get better.”

Alan tries to smile but tears shine in his eyes, “Good daughter. Always.”

“You are the best father. All of us need you right now. I can’t imagine how frustrating this must be. You are getting poked and prodded endlessly. But it’s a means to an end. It will make you better.” Emily pushes back his hair and tries to hug him. She smiles at him softly. “I know you hate this, but we have to do this. Did your speech therapist come by today?” Alan nodded. “Good. Let’s work on some leg exercises. I would like to see if we can get you to take a short walk down the hall and then back. How does that sound? Would you like that?”

Alan nodded. Emily started his leg exercises. A half hour later, Emily had gotten Alan out of bed and had him up with a walker. They were moving slowly down the hall when ALan turned his head towards Emily. "Love you Em."

    “I love you too Dad."

Lucky and Lulu are at the Spencer House cleaning things up for Laura’s return home from the hospital tomorrow. They had gone to the store to get food. Luke was not one to think of things like that. Now they were dusting, vacuuming, and doing laundry. They wanted Laura to come home and not have to worry about cleaning the house.

Lulu put down her dust rag, “I have to ask you Lucky. This has been bugging me now for a while. What is going on with you and Emily?”

Lucky stopped folding clothes, “Nothing is going on between me and Emily.”

Lulu snorted and folded her arms across her chest, “Coulda fooled me. It didn’t look like nothing when I saw you two in bed together.”

“It was a mistake.” Lucky mumbled, his eyes intent on the laundry.

“Oh don’t give me that crap.” Lulu said, “I saw you two with my own eyes. Lucky, Emily is Nikolas’ fiancée!”

Lucky looked up, “Ex.” He said succinctly.

“Whatever.” Lulu said scornfully. “You are still married to Elizabeth and Nikolas just ended a relationship with Emily. Have you even told Nikolas that you slept with Emily? Are you planning on telling your brother?” When Lucky didn’t answer she replied, “I didn’t think so. So why are you continually going after Elizabeth and blaming her for her mistakes? Or are you sticking to your Spencer roots and just won’t forgive her now. Because before you know, she will have moved on.”

Lucky threw the laundry down, “Lulu, you have no idea what you are talking about. She lied to me and made me believe we were having a child together. There aren't many more lies that are worse than that. Frankly Lulu, I just don't want to talk about this with you. This conversation is over." He went back to folding laundry when the doorbell rang. "Are you expecting anyone?"

    "No." Lulu said.

Lucky stalked over to the door and angrily pulled it open. "Yeah, what do you want?"

“Are you Lucas Lorenzo Spencer, JR?”

    “That’s me.”

“You’ve been served.” The man slammed some papers into Lucky’s hands. Lulu came up behind Lucky as he scanned the papers. He threw the papers down and swore. Lulu picked them up and read them.

“Oh my God Lucky, Elizabeth filed for divorce!” Lulu said, shocked.

Tracy woke up and looked around her. She moaned loudly, “Oh my head! It is killing me!” She noticed the peeling wallpaper that was stained yellow by years of nicotine. The green, brown and orange bedspread that she was under. She heard the shower running which just hurt her head more. However, she had no clue who she was with and how she got there. “Hey whoever you are get out here!” Tracy shouted.

Tracy heard the shower turn off and was shocked to see Robert step into the room in a towel. “Dear God, get some clothes on Scorpio. What are we doing here?”

“We are in a hotel Tracy. What do you think we did here?” Robert smirked. “Want me to spell it out for you?”

“You can’t be serious.” Tracy started to sit up but the bedspread started to slip down.

“Careful there Tracy. I believe you are as naked as a jaybird under there.” Robert informed her.

Tracy screeched, “What??? Are you suggesting what I think you are suggesting?”

“That the two of us had sex, made love, got horizontal…Whatever you want to call it Tracy. Yes I reckon we did.”

Tracy pulled her hair forward, “I do not believe you.”

Robert continued on like she hadn’t interrupted him, “Not once, not twice, but three times, my lady. You could not get enough of me. You even asked me if I brought handcuffs with me, which alas, I did not.” Robert sat down on the bed, “Next time I will though.”

With as much dignity as she could she half shouted, “There will never be another time Mr Scorpio. In fact, I am not sure there was even a first time. If we did, you must have forced yourself on me.”

“I am a man of the world Tracy and have never once had to force myself on a woman,” Robert said indiginedly. "Once we left my daughter's party, we went to MetroCourt and you down several drinks. I was going to bring you home but you started kissing me. In fact,Tracy you were the one who suggested we come to this hotel. You bought the condoms and the wine on your debit card. The receipts, I would imagine, are in your purse. All of this was your idea.”

“Give me my purse!” When Robert handed Tracy her purse, he also showed her the condom wrappers. She looked at the receipts and the realization of the night before began to sink in. She leaned back into the pillows as some of the memories came back. Robert was telling the truth, she had thrown herself at him. Again she moaned, “Oh I have such a hangover.”

Robert smirked, “I know just the cure….”

Tracy hit him with her purse, “Go to hell! You better not breath a word to this to anyone!”

“Nikolas! Nikolas! Where are you?” Alexis came stomping into Wyndemere yelling for her nephew. “Nikolas!”

Nikolas came out of his study and met Alexis in the living room, “Alexis what is it? Are you ok? Is it the kids?”

“Oh my God Nikolas. This was on my kitchen table this morning after I took the girls for a walk.” Alexis handed Nikolas a note and two pictures. "Look at this, I don't know what to do."

Nikolas looked at the pictures first. We see that they are pictures taken the day before of Alison holding Spencer in the very room they were standing in and another picture of Kristina and Molly at the park with their nanny. Nikolas looked at Alexis in horror, “Oh dear Lord, Helena.”

“Read the note Nikolas.” Alexis said frantically.

Nikolas read out loud, “Better watch the children. Because we are.” FREEZE FRAME

Brenda hands over James to Edward. She smiles at Edward and kisses James. “Ned, can you and I talk for a minute?” Brenda smiles to everyone and walks out into the foyer, Ned following her. “Ok, the DNA test came back and of course you are the father. I had no doubt about that but Scott wanted that done. Do you want James today and tomorrow? I know its short notice, but you haven’t seen him for a while.”

Ned nodded quickly and said briskly, “Yes Brenda I do want to see him. I have missed him. How are things?”

“Fine. Scott will be getting in touch with you about a custody schedule.” Brenda said shortly, unsure of how she should act.

“I don’t want my son raised around Sonny.” Ned walked around the foyer, Brenda watching him. “When Sonny is out of your life and not an influence on you, then I will gladly allow you to have custody. Until then, I will instruct my lawyer to file an emergency custody hearing.”

Angry, Brenda said, “I am not an unfit mother and you know it Ned.”

    “Those are my terms Brenda.”

Brenda picked up her coat and walked towards the door. “Well, please remember that I came here in good faith. I knew you would react like this and was advised not to even allow you to see James. I didn’t think that was fair to James. I will see you in two days. Call me if you need anything.” Brenda closed the door firmly behind her.

Knowing that he had to face his family again, Ned opened the door to the living room. Emily, Monica, Dillion and Justus were on their way out. Ned watched as AJ and Sarah cooed over James, Edward beaming from ear to ear.

    “Where’s Brenda?” AJ asked.

Ned sat down on the couch, “She left. She and I don’t quite see eye to eye.”

Edward drew his brows together, “You and Brenda can work anything out. I trust you will for this precious little boy.”

“I am afraid that James will be growing up under the influence of one Sonny Corinthos.” Ned confided. “AJ I am sure you can relate.”

“Oh yes.” AJ scowled. “What can I do to help? I don’t want another Quartermaine child raised by that man.”

Ned sat back in the couch, “Brenda and I are going to court. I am fighting for custody. In fact, Carly came to me and wants to, I guess you could say, join forces with her. She says she doesn’t want Michael and Morgan near Brenda.” Ned rubbed the back of his neck, “I don’t know what to do here.”

Edward spoke up angrily, “We need to ensure that miscreant doesn’t raise that child! Maybe we can use Carly to get Michael back in here as well.”

AJ piped up, “If there is one thing I know about Carly, she has always been a jealous person. And has always been the most jealous of Brenda.”

“Why don’t I see what I can do?” Sarah asked. “I mean, I want AJ to spend time with his son. I definitely think that both these goals can be accomplished. From what my sister has told me, Carly’s only friend is Jason right?”

    “True….” Ned said slowly.

“I can befriend her. Play on her jealousy. Have her tell me information about her and Sonny from when they were together which you could possibly use Ned. I don’t know, maybe it would help.” Sarah asked.

Edward walked around the room and pointed at AJ, “AJ, the smartest thing you ever did was marry this girl. I like it and I like her.”

Ned said uncomfortably, “I don’t want to get too dirty. I just want my son.”

“And I want my son too Ned. Sonny shouldn’t be allowed to raise both our children. Does that seem fair?” AJ asked rhetorically. “If Sarah wants to try it, let her. She is a Quartermaine now.”

    “Ok.” Ned finally agreed.

Edward smiled in joy, “Finally a chance for the Quartermaine heirs to be raised properly and not by that good for nothing reprobate!”

Robert’s phone rang and he squawked, “Scorpio”

“It’s Taggert. I got something in a Walmart in the next town over.” Taggert drawled. “One of the clerks positively identified Sam McCall as a woman who dropped some pictures off. I showed him her picture and he immediately identified her.”

    “Excellent work Taggert.” Robert started

Taggert broke in, “He actually wrote down her name and number off the slip. He calls her a goddess. I have put out an APB on her, this time with the alias, get this, Laurie Spence. That’s what she called herself.”

Robert snarked, “Oh Dear God. Luke will flip out. Are you bringing him down to the station?”

    “Already on the way boss.”

“We’ll meet you there. What’s this kid’s name?”

Taggert laughed, “Spinneli. And boss, he’s a weird one.”

Patrick stood at the Nurse’s Station and waited for Robin to come down the hallway. When she approached, she coolly said, “Dr Drake, I understand you need a consult? How can I help you?”

Very cordially and professionally, he handed her a chart. “Please take a look. Should I go with the first drug cocktail? That seems to be the best route for my patient.”

Robin scanned the chart for several moments and then handed it back, “I concur. Is there anything else Dr Drake? I am rather busy.”

“Actually there is.” Patrick looked around and grabbed her elbow. He guided her towards the elevators. “I want to talk about the other day and Sarah.”

“There is nothing to say Patrick.” Robin said coldly. “You lied to me. You played me for a fool. Now Sarah can’t have children because you were too busy moving on to your next conquest to even think about her. What if that was me Patrick?”

Patrick lowered his voice, “I didn’t love her Robin.”

“That’s not what she said. Makes me wonder if you really do love me Patrick or if when you get bored, you will move on.”

“I mean, I thought I did, but you taught me how to love. I didn’t know what love was until I met you Robin. You have to believe me.” Patrick pleaded. “I love you Robin, you know that.

“I don’t have to do anything Patrick and I don’t believe a word out of your mouth. I will be at the Brownstone.” Robin stormed past Patrick, leaving him staring after her.

Carly was sitting at a table in MetroCourt, going over the books. So many thoughts were going through her head about Jax and Sonny and her kids, she could hardly think. It was times like this that she missed Courtney.

Carly was startled when a Raspberry Iced Tea was set in front of her. “Hi, you must be Carly. I don’t think we have met. My name is Sarah. Sarah Quartermaine. Mind if I sit down?” Sarah didn’t wait for an answer as she sat down.

Bemused, Carly said, “Now, how can I help the wife of my ex husband.”

“Well we have a couple things in common.” Sarah said confidently. She paused and took a sip of her drink, “We both dislike the most sanctimonious women in Port Charles.”

“I would assume that you like your sister.” Carly replied.

Sarah smiled, “I was talking about Robin Scorpio and Brenda Barrett. They have done things against us and need to pay. Interested?”

Carly was very interested, but didn’t let on. “I might be. Go on….”

    The Next Day

Sonny opens his penthouse door, expecting Brenda. He was surprised to see AJ standing there. “What do you want AJ?” Sonny asked bluntly.

Confidently, AJ asked. “We have some things to discuss. Can I come in?”

“What for? I can’t think of a damn thing you and I have to discuss.”

“Oh you will want to hear what I have to say.” AJ states, “It concerns Michael.”

Sonny shrugs and steps aside. He closes the door firmly and turns to face AJ. He rubs his chin and asks, “So uh, what do you need to see me for?’

“I want my son back Sonny.”

Sonny shook his head automatically. “No way. Not going to happen. Quit wasting my time and get out!”

AJ folded his arms and smirked, “Well Sonny, I think it will happen. See I have in my possession a recording of your ex wife spewing all the rotten things that you did when you two were married.” AJ pulled out of his jacket pocket the tape. “That Carly always had a mouth on her, but we both know that don’t we?”

Sonny stood there and shot back, “I don’t believe you. You think that by showing me a tape I am going to give you my son?”

AJ flipped him the tape. “You can have this. I have the original. In fact, I suggest you listen to it. Carly sure knew a lot about Brenda.” AJ taunted. “Oh, by the way Sonny. Remember that Brenda is going up against Ned. Ned can use this tape to take James. Do you want James taken away from her as well?." AJ paused and let that sink in before walking towards the door. "Think long and hard about what you will want to do in regards to my son. I want you to sign over your rights to me. I will be back and you better have an answer for me.” AJ opened the door and closed it behind him. Sonny picked up a glass and threw it at the fireplace.

“Emily, have you seen the patient in 305s chart?” Patrick asked.

Emily looked up from the Station. “Sarah has it. I saw her go in there a few minutes ago with his results. Why?”

“Oh. Thanks Emily.” Patrick stormed into the patients room and said to Sarah, “Dr., may I have a word with you?”

Sarah looked up and nodded. “Of course.” She turned to the patient and said. “Let me know if you need anything.” She followed Patrick out of the room and asked. “Yes Dr Drake? How can I help you?”

“What were you doing with my patient?” Patrick asked, trying to contain his anger. “I was looking for his chart and you had it. I had to ask Emily Quartermaine where it was.”

Sarah twirled a piece of her hair, “I apologize Dr Drake, I wasn’t aware you were looking for it. I was asked by my mother in law to check in on him” She said innocently. “It won’t happen again.”

“See that you do that Sarah. You already ruined my personal life.” He pointed a finger at her. “Stay away from my professional life!”

“No Patrick,” Sarah’s eyes narrowed, “You ruined my life. Payback is a !@#$%^&*], isn’t it?”

Monica settled herself down in a chair across from Alan’s hospital bed. She was making her lunch hour visit to her husband. Alan opened his eyes, “Hi Monica.”

Monica grabbed his hand and stood up. She leaned over and kissed him on the lips. “How was your night honey? I am sorry I didn’t get a chance to get in here earlier but I had surgery early this morning.”

    “Ok.”

“Your speech seems to be coming around. Emily tells me that you are walking around more. That’s great Alan. You are making excellent progress.” Monica chatted. It was still difficult for Alan to talk but all his visitors were aware of that. “Your father is so ecstatic that he won the baby bet.”

Alan’s mouth opened and he slurred, “Figures. Fath, Father loves monmoney.”

Monica squeezed his hand, “That he does Alan.” Monica closed her eyes. “Oh Alan I miss you so much. I miss you at night in our big bed. It’s so cold there.” Monica wiped tears from her eyes. “God I am so selfish. Here you are in a hospital and I am feeling sorry for myself.”

“Don’t cry Mon. S’ok. Miss you too.” Alan replied. “Getting better. I feel better.”

“I am just happy you are ok Alan. That you are still here. Something funny happened this morning.” Monica quickly changed subjects. “I was getting ready for work and I overheard Tracy on the phone. I think she is seeing someone.”

    “Tracy?”

“She said, I will see you later at the same place. Then when she saw me, she grilled me on what I had heard. I told her nothing. But she has been out late a lot.” Monica confided. “It’s about time your sister met a man. Maybe she will move out of my house!” Monica laughed

Alan laughed with Monica and his eyes started to close. Monica watched him as he fell asleep, happy that he was still alive and getting better.

Laura and Lulu were in Nikolas’ hospital room. He was asleep from the morphine he was given for the pain. He had suffered some burns from the small explosive that went off on the Spencer’s porch. The doctor’s admitted him for observation and he would be released later that day.

Lulu stood up and started walking around the room. “Mom, I wish there was something I could do to help. Why won’t Dad let me help?”

“You are helping me Lulu, by staying out of the way. I know you want to be in the middle of things,” Laura softened her tone, “but with your father you never know what will happen.”

Lulu sat down. “How do you do it Mom? Through all the adventures and the Triple L and the whole on the run stuff, how did you do it?”

Laura smiled at the memories, “It was scary Lulu and it was hard. I love your father with every inch of my soul. I wouldn’t trade him for anything. But I get scared. I know your father will protect us always. I have faith in him and our love.”

Emily walked in then and cleared her throat. “Mrs. Spencer, Lulu. I just need to take some vitals on Nikolas.”

Lulu looked coldly at Emily and said to her mother, “I am going to the bathroom and getting a drink. Do you want anything Mom?”

    “I’m fine honey.”

Emily efficiently took Nikolas’ blood pressure and took his pulse. She wrote them down on his chart and said to Laura, “I want to wake him up and see how he responds to some stimuli. It may be too soon because he was just given some morphine not too long ago so he may be too tired. If everything checks out, we will take the IV out and you can take him home soon.” Laura nodded as Emily said softly, “Nikolas. Nikolas, it’s Emily and you are at the hospital. You need to wake up. Then you will be able to go home soon.”

Nikolas’ eyes fluttered and he licked his lips. He had a hard time focusing and he coughed a few times, trying to get out of his slumber. After a minute, he said, “Elizabeth! Where are you Liz? Come back to me Liz, I need you.” Nikolas then fell back into his drug induced sleep.

Emily and Laura stared at each other in stunned silence.

    CASTING ROUNDUP

EXTENSION: Stephanie Gatschet's (Serena Baldwin) short-term contract has been extended. Though the actress has lingered since her arrival, her character has some new found direction, as fans have seen as of late. Though she hasn't been upgraded to contract status, she is expected to begin taping more over the next couple of weeks.

GOINGs: JACKIE ZEMAN (Bobbie Spencer-Drake): Due to storyline reasons, the character of Bobbie will be off the canvas for a few months. Zeman, who has worked tremendously over the past two years is going to take a long needed vacation. "She will be back." says Tishy Smith. "Port Charles will have changed a bit since her departure."

ASHLEY JONES (Sarah Webber): In what will be a storyline dictated exit, Ashley has been released from her contract. Ashley's Sarah was brought on to break up Patrick and Robin. Since the Patrick and Robin storyline went in another direction, there has been no story for Ashley. "We have appreciated everything Ashley has done in the year she has been with us. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of bringing her back with no real direction. She has been a true professional. We wish her well in all her endeavors." Ryan Chandler has to say about Ashley Jones on her exit. Looks like those rumors of an AJ/Sarah pairing officially can be squashed. We can confirm the actress will return later next year.

    BLIND ITEMS:

UNHAPPY DIVA?: There is a rumor going around the studio that one actress doesn't like her surroundings. Sources say she was under the impression her storyline was going to be bigger than it has been. Rumor has it that she may be looking for a way out of her contract. TPTB are actively looking for her replacement if she gets out of her contract.

TO RE-SIGN OR NOT TO RE-SIGN?: We hear that the contracts of two actors are coming up. One has enjoyed a pretty good run in a front burner story and is heading for a new romance. Though he's enjoying his story, he only signed on for a year and 3 short term extensions have already happened. If he does leave, expect the role to be recast right away.

The other actor signed a short term contract and is ready to leave. Setsiders say he feels his character has run it's course with the writers, and doesn't want to re-sign if he's not going to have a prominent story.

EXIT RIGHT?: There's talk of a dramatic change in the look of the canvas coming up. A few actors could find themselves receiving their walking papers

    QUESTIONS:

Each week, Ryan & Tishy will field questions from the viewers. Hopefully you'll gain a bit more insight into the show.

Q: Emily has been written in a very different way and is far more aggressive. Why is that?

We want to make Emily a true Quartermaine in every sense of the word. One complaint we've read about the character of Emily in the past is that she is very weak. Well our Emily has gone through a lot in the year she's been off canvas. We'll eventually a little more of her growth in the future.

For now, she is very angry at Monica. It's because of Alan & Monica that Emily wanted to become a doctor. Emily sees Monica's actions as just another betrayal to Alan and the family. She is going to channel that anger in a very unique way.

Q: Robin is now pregnant. With her HIV status, how could she not pass it to Patrick and her unborn child?

We've done a lot of research on this story. With the type of HIV that Robin has, she has a very small chance of passing the HIV to either Patrick or her child. Both Robin and the baby will take a protocol to make passing HIV a smaller chance. So it is possible that she doesn't pass the HIV to either Patrick or their baby."

Q: What is the mystery involving Sam and does she have feelings for Lucky?

Sam is proving to be a Cassadine through and through. As readers know, she is being controlled by Helena. Helena's hatred for the Spencers has flowed through her veins for decades. She finally has an opportunity to hurt Luke where it counts.

As far as Sam's feelings for Lucky....she does have feelings for him, but how much of that is legitimate and how much is a ruse? Thanks to Helena's influence, you have to question if they are real or not. This will be a huge story for us coming up.

Q: The story between Lorenzo and Sonny is heating up. What is going to happen in this mafia story? What can we look forward to?

The Mob War will play through November. Without giving too much away there will be a lot of drama. Some will be unresolved, some will end. There will be causalities. The fact of the matter is, the mob just doesn't fit into our vision for the blog and it hasn't since it was created back in January 06. Anna was brought on to rid Port Charles of it's criminal essence and there's a chance she could succeed next month.

Q: What is the state, in your opinions, of the mySON TV blogs, and how do you compare them to real daytime dramas right now?

We feel as if everyone is putting forth their best effort right now. Gone is the feeling of "competition". We're all supporting each other by providing constructive feedback and showing the writers that what their doing isn't being wasted. One thing that's different than it was maybe earlier in year is that showing of support.

As far as the real daytime dramas go, I get more enjoyment from reading some of the blogs than I do with their real life counterparts. Many of us blog writers follow the "Single Vision Theory" and that's why the blogs are doing as good as they are.

    CLOSING

We just want to thank everyone for continuing to support not only our blog, but the other mySON TV blogs as well. We also want to give a special thanks to Salem Lives writers PhoenixRising & Roman for giving us the inspiration to do this kind of entry. If it wasn't for them, we probably wouldn't have done the Chronicles. Their Salem Lives Insider has been a great feature at mySON TV and we hope the PC Chronicles will as well.

"Welcome back everyone, wasn't that hunky Dr Drake just wonderful starting the show off?" Lucy said, walking out onto the stage, "Does everyone like my dress?" She twirled in her multicolored layered dress and curtsied to the crowd. "I want you all to know that all the dresses that I will be wearing will be auctioned off as well. Now our next act features some of our favorite couples. Please welcome Dr Lainey Winters and Justus Ward, one of my favorite ex husbands, Alan Quartermaine with his lovely wife Monica and Luke and Laura Spencer. They will be dancing a tango for us followed by a samba! Give it up for our dancing couples!" She walked off the stage as the music began.

Alexis Davis was enjoying a drink with Sonny when her ex husband, Ric stopped by. "Alexis, Sonny. What are you doing here together?"

"Well tonight is for a good cause and I thought it would be nice to come with the father of my daughter. We had some things to discuss. Not that it is any of your business," Alexis retorted.

Ric snorted, "It is my business when a known felon is hanging around my daughter. I told you Alexis, I do not want Sonny around Molly."

Sonny smirks, "Well brother, I don't see Molly here. Alexis and I are just having a nice evening together for a good cause."

"Oh please Sonny. There must be a hidden agenda here. Alexis is the DA. Sonny you or that thug Morgan must have commited some crime and you need Alexis to get you off."

"Now that's enough Ric. Please, just leave us alone." Alexis said, exasperated.

Sonny stood up and put his hand on his back, "I would advise you to do what the lady says, Ric."

"Alexis, you will be hearing from my attorney regarding the custody issues regarding Molly. Do you even have a lawyer yet?" Ric snapped.

"As a matter of fact Ric, I do. Sonny has gotten a lawyer for me. In fact he is one of the best in the state. He will be in touch." Alexis said, "Now please Ric, leave us alone."

Astonished, Ric's mouth dropped open, "Sonny got you a lawyer? Are you kidding me? Not one of your better ideas counselor. But it will certainly benefit me. Have a good evening." With that, Ric walked away, chuckling.

Alexis turned to Sonny, "This better work Sonny."

Sonny held up his hands and smiled, "Trust me! Now if you excuse me, I will be right back."

Felicia and Maxie went outside and took a walk. "What's going on Maxie? Want to tell me what's bothering you?"

"Oh Mom, I really messed things up with Lucky." Maxie kicked at a rock, "After Jesse was killed things were so messed up for me. I wanted someone to love me and I thought Lucky was it. I really do love him, but he won't take me back."

Felicia put her arm around her daughter, "Maxie, you got him hooked on drugs and almost ruined his marriage. You have to accept responsibility for that."

Maxie shrugged Felicia's arm off her, "You know, Elizabeth is no saint. I wish people would stop acting like she is one."

"Maxie they are married. Married people go through troubled times. You and I don't know what is going on in their marriage. You will find someone to love. Isn't their someone at the hospital that you could go out with?" Felicia counseled.

"Please Mom," Maxie stopped and wiped the tears from her eyes, "Everyone knows what I did to Elizabeth. I am the local pariah around here. No one will go out with me."

Felicia hugged her daughter again, "You are a beautiful, intelligent young woman. Why don't you enroll at PCU and meet people there, outside of the realm of people you know now. This will give you a chance to get over Lucky and will lead you to new exciting things."

"I don't know Mom." Maxie cast her eyes down and sighed, "Let's go back inside. I'm getting cold."

Felicia put her hand under Maxie's chin and raised it up, "I love you Maxie."

"I love you too Mom." Maxie mumbled.

Carly, dressed in a tight gold lame dress, leaned over and kissed Jax passionately, "I love you Jax"

"I love you too Carly." Jax smiled.

"Having a good time?" She asked, nuzzling up against his neck.

Jax moved away and laughed, "Carly, every moment spent with you is an adventure. I would give you the world if I could."

Carly leaned back and gazed deeply into his eyes, "Would you?"

    "Would I what?"

"Give me anything I want?" Carly cooed seductively.

Jax pushed some strands of her hair back, "Within reason."

"Jax." Carly started but stopped when Sonny came over and said hello, "Sonny, how are you?"

"Oh I am fine. Jax." Sonny nodded at his rival, "How are the boys?"

"Sonny they are fine. Actually Jason has them tonight and we will be picking them up after the ball." Carly replied cooly.

Sonny shifted from one foot to the other, "Well I just wanted to say hi. I'll pick up the kids tomorrow."

"Bye Sonny" Carly said, "You know, he always knows exactly when to interupt, it's like he has a knack." She put her chin in her hands, "So where were we?"

Jax smiled his patented seductive smile, "You wanted me to give you something. So tell me Carly, is it jewels, a trip, or a plane? What do you want?"

Carly smiled, "I want to have your baby."

    ~Next time....
    A proposal is made
Carly and Jax continue their conversation
A blast from the past returns to shake things up

Carly looks at Jax, "Did you know anything about this?"

"No I didn't. I want to go say hello. It's been years since I spoke to her." Jax stood up ans walked towards the growing crowd around Brenda.

Carly brushed by him, "Like hell you will." She strode through the room, where a small crowd was gathering around Brenda. Ned was hugging her and wishing her well. "Hey I will talk to you later Brenda, but I have to get on stage. Is your stuff at the mansion?"

"Yes Ned. I will see you later." Brenda kissed him on the cheek and wished him well.

Robin hugs her best friend again, "I can't believe you didn't tell me you were coming. I am so happy. I have so much to tell you."

"Well I wanted to meet this hot doctor you have been raving about." Brenda points through the crowd towards Patrick, "That must be him, I have never seen him before and let's face it, if he's hot and living in Port Charles, well I have met him. Oh I am so glad to be home" Brenda said hugging her best friend again.

Robin nods, " I know. We so have to get together soon and talk. So much has happened since I last saw you. I want to tell you all about Patrick, He makes me so happy and I know you will like him. Hey Patrick! Come meet Brenda," She beckons. "Patrick is talking to his father, Noah Drake. You'll meet him later, we'll all got out."

Carly pushs her way past Robin, "What the hell are you doing here and more importantly, when are you going back?" She asks Brenda.

Brenda turns, sees Carly with Jax and smirks, "Carly. Picking up my leftovers again? I would ask you how you are but that would mean that I care. Jax, how are you? I've missed you" Brenda leans forward and kisses him on the cheek.

"Keep your hands off of him," Carly said, nostrils flaring, "And you didn't answer my question. When are you going home?"

Jax unsuccessfullytries to shut Carly up, "Brenda you look phenomenal. It's good to have you back."

" Thanks Jax. And Carly, I'm not going back to Paris. This is home and I am here to stay." Brenda smiled. Brenda didn't notice but Sonny was edging his way on the outside of the crowd.

"Like hell this is. Why are you here?" Carly persisted.

    "I need a reason to be here? I didn't think I did."

Robin interupted, "Actually for the first time in my life Brenda, I agree with Carly. Not that I am not happy to see you, but why are you here?"

Sonny pushed his way into the crowd and listened intently, "Brenda."

Brenda swallowed noticeably, something that Carly immediately caught on, "Hi Sonny. Nice to see you."

"So what are you doing here." Sonny asked.

"I was offered a modeling contract in New York and will live here. I don't have to travel much and it doesn't take much time. I talked to Ned and he said I could live at the mansion." Brenda explained.

Carly snorted, "You are a has been."

Jax led Carly away, "Let's go Carly. Let's not make a scene."

"Very true. I want you as far away from her as possible." Carly turned back towards Brenda, "I would say I was happy you were back, but I would be lying."

Brenda threw her hair back, "Oh Carly, jealous much?" she said as Jax dragged Carly away.

Robin leaned in and whispered to Brenda, "What about James?"

Brenda whispered back, "He's here, but I didn't want to bring him here tonight. It's not the time or the place. The Quartermaines know about him and are cool with it."

"Well, now that Ned is done, Patrick and I are going to talk about how AIDS affects our lives. Go see Ned, I am sure he will want to see you." Robin said.

    "Brenda..." Sonny started forward

Brenda turned towards him, "Not now Sonny. I want to go see Edward. If you want to see me, I am at the Quartermaines."

Luke turned to Robert and Mac, "You know what we have to do tonight? It's tradition."

Mac laughed, "Oh yes, Most definetly."

Robert looked from Luke to Mac, "What are you talking about?"

Mac glanced at Felicia, "We have to find some way to get Lucy naked. Every Nurse's Ball, she always ends up naked. Whether she is changing and someone pushes her out into the crowd or the curtain accidently goes up, she is naked. Every year."

"No way," Robert brings his beer to his mouth and takes a drink, "Now she is a fine looking woman."

"You are totally out of her league Scorpio." Luke laughed. "But our goal tonight is to get her out of her drawers. For the benefit of all the men here, we have too. Trust me, Alan and Ned will join us."

Robert got up, "I'll go tell them."

    "Journey on mate." laughed Mac.

Lulu came out of the bathroom to see Dillion there, "Hey Lulu, you look nice."

"Hi Dillion. Are you having a good time?" Lulu leaned back against the wall.

    "Yeah, are you?"

"It's ok. I liked watching my parents dance. I had no idea my parents could dance like that."

Dillion leaned closer, "Listen Lulu, I am sorry about the other day. I shouldn't have kissed you like that. Especially since I am with Georgie."

Lulu looked down, "It's ok, I mean, I like that you kissed me. I don't know Dillion."

    "What?"

"Georgie isn't the only one that likes you. I do too Dillion." Lulu said, staring at him.

Dillon stepped closer, "Lulu I didn't know that. I like you too." Dillion leaned over and put his hands on her face. He gently kisses Lulu over and over again, gradually getting more intense.. Neither one noticing that Maxie is at the end of the hallway.

"Christ, that's Felicia! Someone help her!" Mac screamed. Mac turned and saw some of the doctors, "Patrick! Noah! That's Felicia in the car!" Robert and Luke had to restrain him with all their might from running foward.

"Mac, let them do their work! If you go over there, you will make it harder for them!" Luke screams in his ear.

Patrick, Noah and Robin were already running to the car which is maybe 100 yards down the road. The car was hit on the driver side and the other car kept driving. The windsheild was smashed and when the doctors' get there, Felicia is unresponsive. Elizabeth, Bobbie and Emily followed behind, "What can we do?" Bobbie asked.

"We need to get her out of the car and get her neck stabilized." Patrick said, "Can you also get some clothes, some towels or something? She is bleeding pretty badly. Robin, in my car I have some first aid things. I might have something to stabilize her neck. Elizabeth, call 911 and tell them what's going on, keep them on the line. Tell them we need police as well."

"Gotcha" When Robin came back with it, he fastened a neck collar around Felicia's neck. He, Noah, Emily and Elizabeth gently remove Felicia from the car and lay her down on the street. "Jesus" Noah said, glancing at his son, "Elizabeth how long will the ambulance be?"

"Three minutes. Taggert is on his way as well." Elizabeth replied, glancing over at the growing crowd.

Patrick mumbled to his father, "I don't think we have three minutes. Her neck is supported, I am going to start CPR."

Bobbie comes back with the towels and presses them against her head where the blood seems to be coming from. She is in full nurse mode. Alan comes up behind her to get an understanding of the situation. She relays what is going on. Alan then asks Emily, "Emily will you go tell Mac that the ambulance will be here shortly and Taggert is on his way. Have Robert bring him to the hospital. I don't see Georgie or Maxie, they may have already left. Someone needs to find them. Will you call Dillion and have him take Georgie to the hospital. I think she left with Dillion. Can you try calling Maxie as well?"

"Dad, is Felicia going to be all right?" Emily asked, worry in her voice.

"I am not going to lie to you, it doesn't look good. The EMTs are just getting here and I want to help the doctors. I will see you at the hospital." Alan kisses Emily, "I love you Em"

"I love you too." Emily hurried over to Mac and relayed the information to him and Robert. Mac and Robert left for the hospital just as Taggert arrived Because it was a crime scene, Taggert and Lucky started questioning people if the had seen anything and if they had, let them know. Then they were free to go. The doctors and nurses had scrambled into their cars and hurried to the hospital to perform the inevitable surgery, while Patrick and Noah jumped into the ambulance to continue working.

    The Hospital...

Georgie runs into the emergency room at the same time that Felicia is being rolled in. "Uncle Mac, What happened?"

"Hit and run." Despair in his voice

"Are you ok? Were you in the car?" Georgie asked, worry seeping into her voice.

Mac hugged her tightly, "No, I wasn't. Robert and I were going to Luke's. Felicia was going to head home alone. I don't know what's going on yet. No one has been out yet. Do you know where Maxie is? We can't locate her."

Georgie shook her head, "She was upset because Lucky told her again that he was staying with Elizabeth. I have tried her cell but I bet she turned it off. She must be at Kelly's."

Mac looked over at Robert and beckoned him over, "Can you do us a favor?"

    "Anything brother."

"Maxie is not answering her phone. Can you check out her room at Kelly's?" Mac asked.

Robert was about to answer when Alan came out and called Mac, Georgie and Robert to a side room. "Look, I am being honest with you. Her lungs have collapsed, her ribs are shattered and some of her vertebrae in her back are broken. She also has a massive head injury and massive internal bleeding. Dr. Drake is operating, but it doesn't look good. She may not make it through the operation. I would suggest you call everywhere you can think of and locate Maxie. Please let me know if I can do anything. Monica is in there, we have our best surgeons in there. Robin is in there as well. I wouldn't go far and stay in here."

Robert wrapped a consoling arm around his brother, "Just keep us informed Alan."

Alan walked back into the operating room when Maxie came flying in. "Lucky stopped by Kelly's. Is Mom all right? Can I see her?" When she noticed the tears on Georgie's and Mac's eyes, she moaned, "Noooooo. Is she?"

Mac opened up his arms and she fell into them, "She's alive but Maxie, it doesn't look good. You have to prepare yourself Maxie, she might not make it."

Maxie pounded on his chest, "You are lying to me! Not our mother! Georgie, tell me the truth."

Georgie sobbed, "Maxie, Alan was just here. Alan wouldn't lie. She has massive bleeding internally and collapsed lungs" Georgie sniffed, "I guess someone just hit her and took off. Dr. Drake is operating, and Monica and Robin are in there too." Georgie wrapped her arms around Maxie and the two sisters cried together.

Robert got up and slipped out of the room. He saw Luke and Laura in the corner and apprised them of the situation. He asked them to call their friends, especially Lucy and anyone else they could think of. In Robert's opinion, he didn't think Felicia would last through the night. Robert walked back into the private waiting room.

Hours passed before Robin pushed open the door with tears streaming down her face. She ran in yelling, "Uncle Mac, come quick!"

Mac, Maxie and Georgie scrambled over each other but Alan stopped them in their tracks. "Oh Mac, girls, I am so sorry. She's gone. She passed away a few minutes ago."

Maxie flew at Alan and pushed him, trying to get by him and into the ER room, "You are lying to us! You are just trying to hurt us! I want to see her."

Robin and Georgie start to sob as Mac stood stoically. Alan shook his head and said softly, "I don't think that's a good idea."

"Bring her back! Bring her back!" Maxie yelled. "Tell them to bring my mother back!"

Robin tried to pull herself together. "Maxie, everything was done that could be done. We tried everything we could. There were just too many injuries."

Mac sat down and started to cry. Georgie sat down next to him and sobbed on his shoulder. Defensively Maxie stood there and kept demanding to see her mother. Finally, after about ten minutes, Robert pulled everyone together. "Let's go home. There is nothing more we can do here."

Maxie turned around and slapped Robert across the face, "Don't you get it! I am NOT leaving my mother here alone."

Mac stood up and hugged Maxie, "We need to go. It's best for all of us. But Robert, can you get everyone out of here first? I don't want everyone swarming on the girls tonight. We'll meet you at your car."

Robert nodded. He led Robin out of the room and into the waiting room. He caught Luke's eye and nodded. He spoke quickly to Luke and the swiftly led Robin outside. Laura turned into Luke's arms and started to cry. Luke wrapped his arms around Laura. He always had an affection for Felicia. Lucy came rushing in and Luke broke the news to her. She sank into a chair and just cried. She didn't look up until she felt a hand on her shoulder, "Lucy,"

"I'm sorry Bobbie, it's just, this is so awful....Felicia was my very best friend in the world. I miss her so much." Lucy blew her nose.

"Lucy I don't want you to be alone tonight. Come stay with us at the brownhouse." Bobbie offered.

Lucy squeezed Bobbie's hand, "I would like that."

"Me too Lucy. This is the worst night Port Charles has seen in a long time."

Alexis walks in, determined into the police station to locate Taggert. "Ok Taggert. Felicia Scorpio was killed last night. This is a vehichular homicide we are looking at. What were you and Lucky able to recover from the crime scene?"

Taggert perches on his desk, "Well, not to many people recall seeing anything and half the people there were half in the bag. The other half were the doctors and the nurses who were too busy trying to save her life to look for clues. A couple people think it was a dark blue or green, possibly black sporty car that hit Felicia. Also, the other car went over the center line. We confirmed it by the tire tracks. Speed may have been a factor, but not from Felicia's end, she had barely started."

"Great, a dark night with no moon and a dark sports car. Not a lot to go on. Follow up with people."

"Another problem is that a lot of people were trying to talk to Brenda Barrett and didn't notice anything until it was over." Taggert remarked, throwing a file down, "Lucky is out following up with people as we speak. I am going to head out myself and tackle the other half of the list."

"Thanks Taggert, I want to get this solved for Mac as quickly as possible."

Taggert agreed and picked up his jacket. "We are also checking garages to make sure any dark cars with damage to the front, that they contact us. We also want to wrap this up quickly for Mac."

"Keep me informed Taggert." Alexis said as Taggert left the police station.

Lucy, Laura and Bobbie were gathered in the living room in the Spencer house. Mac and the family were making arrangements for the funeral and the women were making phone calls to notify people. Even though Lucy was no longer with Kevin, she called his answering service who informed her that he was away and would check his messages. Bobbie called Tiffany Hill, who now worked for CNN. Tiffany promised that she and Sean Donely, head of the WSB would be there for the funeral. Tiffany also promised to have Sean locate Frisco as well. Laura called Anna Devane who promised to grab the first flight to Port Charles. The three women, diverse in many ways but united in grief, were there to make a photo album for the funeral.

Lucy hands Bobbie a picture of Felicia with Mac and the girls, "I can't believe this. I feel so empty inside."

"I know. I just wanted Luke to hold me all night." Laura said.

Bobbie looked up, "Where is he now?"

"At the Scorpios. There is a lot of press because she was the wife of the commissioner. He's just trying to do the best that he can." Laura responded.

Bobbie laughed, "A bottle of Scotch with Robert will do."

The women laughed. Lucy put a picture down, "It doesn't feel right to laugh."

Laura hugged her, "Felicia will want us to move on. I am just worried about Maxie and Georgie, especially Maxie. She is so emotional right now. I hope Sean can get in touch with Frisco. Not that he is available much, but they lost Tony, now Felicia. They need him. Not that Mac isn't enough, he is, but." She hurried to finish.

"We know what you mean Laura," Bobbie said.

"Look at this picture. It's of Felicia and Frisco when they got married. They looked so young. I like this picture of her and Tony. Let's include that." Laura said. "Hey Bobbie, were you able to get in touch with Lucas and let him know what happened?"

Bobbie sighed, "I still can't believe that after he came out he enlisted. I called his commanding officer and they are getting word to him in Afghanistan. It's unfortunate that he can't come home, but that's the Army. He will probably call home tonight or tomorrow when he gets home."

Lucy looked at Bobbie sympathetically, "It must be hard to have him over there, especially right now. But he is fighting for our country."

Bobbie handed Laura a picture of Tony, Bobbie, Mac and Felicia. "It is. Look at this picture. I always loved this one."

"We all looked so much younger." Lucy said.

There was a knock on the door and Laura went to go get it. "Is Lucy here? I was told she might be."

Lucy whipped around, scattering pictures everywhere. "What are you doing here?" Lucy gasped.

"Why do you think I am here. Hello Lucy, I have missed you a great deal." Scott Baldwin said.

The doorbell rang at the Quartermaines and Alice went to go get it. Seated in the living room were Ned and Brenda. Alice came back and announced, "Miss Brenda, you have a guest. Mr Corinithos is here to see you."

Ned looked at Brenda, "You don't have to talk to him. I will gladly tell him to go away."

Brenda stood up, "No, just stay here. I will deal with this." Brenda walked into the foyer and saw her former lover, "Hello Sonny."

"Brenda. How are you this morning? Did you hear about Felicia?"

Brenda nodded. "Alan told us before he left for the hospital this morning. What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing."

Brenda pushed her hair back, "I was tired of Paris so I came back. I was offered a modeling contract in New York and took it. That won't be a problem will it?" She asked, amused.

    "Can I come in?"

    "Why?"

"Brenda, we have a lot to talk about."

"Sonnnny, no we don't. Go back to Carly." Brenda turned and walked towards the living room, glanced in and closed the door. "Ohhh waiiit. Ned told me she is with Jax. Is that true?"

Sonny rubbed his chin, "Yes, yes she is Brenda. But thats not important."

Brenda cut him off, "Oh I get it. You would love it if you and I got back together and we could rub it in her face. Since she is with Jax and all. Not gonna happen Sonny. Don't even think about it."

"How do you know what I am thinking?"

Brenda laughed, "I know exactly how you operate Sonny Corinthos. Don't even begin to think that I don't. This is me you are talking about. I know you better than anyone, even Carly and Jason."

A noise caught Sonny's attention. "Brenda, what is that?"

Brenda whipped around and headed for the living room, Sonny following close behind. She opened the door and saw Ned holding James. "I'll take him. James, what's the matter?" She cooed. She walked around the room and rocked him up and down "Are you hungry? Are you tired? I know that flight was really long yesterday and we are in a strange place. But there are lots of toys here. Shhhh, Mommy loves you."

"Brenda, this is your son?" Sonny sais incredously

Luke's Club....late. Mac was at the bar, drunk. He had been drinking everyday since Maxie had shot herself at Felicia's memorial service. Friends and family had been by to visit everyday and he had been drunk every time. Even Robert was concerned. Bobbie had stopped by one afternoon to see how he was and he was passed out. Robin came by to check on him and bring him breakfast. It was nine am and he was already drinking. Everyone was worried for him.

Luke went over and sits down next to Mac. "Hey Mac. I think you have had enough. Let me get you a ride home. You need to ease up on the liquor."

Mac looks at Luke scornfully, " Luke give it up. I came to a realization in the last few days. Maxie was right. I let her down in so many ways and now she is gone. I was a worse father to her than Frisco ever was. I couldn't control her. I couldn't see what was in front of me. I made her do the things that she did. All of this happening is my fault."

"You know that isn't true Mac." Luke said softly, "Maxie was very troubled and she hid it well."

"Spare me the platitudes Luke. They are beneath you." Mac spit out angrily, "Now I would appreciate it if you got me another drink. It's a bar, it's why I am here. To drink my troubles away."

Luke looks over his shoulder and beckons to Laura, who is eating dinner with Bobbie. Laura comes over, "Hi Mac. How are you tonight? What's going on?"

"Let's see, my wife is dead and my daughter is too. Not too good." Mac replied sarcastically.

"Mac, I think you need to go home. You have had a lot to drink." Laura said soothingly.

Mac laughs, "It dulls the pain."

"It won't bring Felicia or Maxie back." Laura said. "You have to know that."

Mac turned to her, "Let me ask you this Laura, what would you do if you lost Luke in a tragic accident and one of your kids killed themselves at his memorial service? How would you react?"

Laura looked at him sadly and replied, "Mac, I am like you. I have other children. You have Georgie that you have raised and Robin also. I would be strong for them. They need you. You are the parent. You cannot keep drowning your sorrows like this".

"Spare me the politically correct answer. Now Luke, are you going to get me another drink or what?" Mac said, turning his back on Luke and Laura.

Luke walks over to Bobbie and sits down, "Barbara Jean, how is my favorite sister tonight?" He grabs a french fry and pops it in his mouth, "I have a favor to ask."

"You want me to drive Mac home." Bobbie said.

"Look at him. He's a wreck. Plus you both have a lot in common so I thought it would be nice. You lost BJ and he lost Maxie and you both love Flea."

Bobbie stood up and grabbed her purse. "Luke are you going soft on me?"

    Luke smiled devilishly, "Never!"

    Metro Court...late

Alexis and Sonny were dining together with Kristina and Molly and discussing her case for custody of Molly. She wanted to take Ric down for all he had down to her and to Sam. Sonny just wanted to do it because, well he was Sonny. "Alexis, I said it was going to work, it will work. Trust me."

"You know I hate it when you say trust me." Alexis said, looking over at Molly and helping her with her food, "That's like asking the devil if it's warm in hell."

    "Mommy what's hell." Kristina inquired.

Sonny looked at Kristina and answered, "It's a place in the middle of the Earth where it's really hot and you don't ever want to go there."

    "Sonny!"

"What?" Sonny smiled, "Come on Alexis, you know I want you to have custody of Molly. No way should Ric even have any type of access to her. He is not a fit parent. I have done many things wrong, but I know how to parent. Ric doesn't. He's selfish and greedy and evil. Look what he did to you when you were having chemo and tried to get custody. That's just wrong."

Alexis took a bite of her salad, "Sonny you get no argument from me, I agree with you. Everyone is going along with this?"

"Alexis you are well liked and I called in a couple favors. Carly is all over it, as is Jax. Carly wants revenge against him and will do anything to get it. I hated asking Jax for help but he is one of your best friends. You know Ric is watching your every move. I said I would do the dirty work. I even contacted Elizabeth." Sonny took a bite of his lasagna. "You know Alexis, my lasagna is better. Much better. I should tell Carly."

"Of course it is Sonny," Alexis said condesceningly, "But Elizabeth? I will believe it when I see it. She has always had a soft spot for you."

"You should believe me more Alexis." Sonny turned to Kristina as Carly walked by and headed towards the bar, "Kristina, Daddy loves you." Sonny stood up and kissed Kristina, "Alexis, I will see you later. Trust me!"

Carly stopped at the bar and asked for a drink. "Have you seen Jax tonight?" She asked the bartender. When he shook his head she surveryed the crowd. Inwardly she groaned when she saw that Robin and Brenda were across the room from Alexis and Sonny. Of course, Sonny was facing Brenda. Jealousy rose in Carly and she was growing irritated. She had a feeling that Brenda was back in town to either take Jax away from her or get Sonny once and for all. Carly didn't want Sonny, but she didn't want Brenda to have him either. Plus, Carly was not convinced that Sonny or Jax was the father of Brenda's baby. She glanced over at their table again. She would kill to be able to hear their conversation.

"So Robin, how are things going? Tell me what's going on." Brenda asked, concerned.

"Well Uncle Mac is a wreck and I don't think my father is helping much. Everything about that house reminds him of Felicia and Maxie." Robin sighed and took a sip of her margarita. "Plus he also thinks he's a failure as a father. I just don't know what to do. I don't know what to tell him. I tell him all the time he did a great job with me and then he tells me that he's not because if he was a good father, I never would have gotten involved with Stone and have HIV.""

"Oh God Robin, that's awful. He is just being irrational. The only thing you can do is just listen to him when he needs you. Are you staying at the house?" Brenda counseled.

Robin shook her head, "Not anymore. I was for a while, but he finally told me to go home. Patrick agreed with him. Patrick has been wonderful through all of this, completely supportive of my needs."

Brenda sipped her margarita, "I wish he wasn't on call tonight so he could have come out with us. He's a nice guy, totally perfect for you. It is nice to get out." Brenda looked up, "Oh Robin, Sonny is here and he is staring."

Robin laughed, "That's funny because Carly is at the bar and she is watching him watch you I guess. She is so jealous."

Brenda laughed, "She hates us and I don't care. I have no idea what Jax sees in her. I can see what Sonny did, but not Jax. She still thinks that Jax is the father of James. Of course I won't give her a straight answer either. Can you imagine if I hooked up with Sonny again? She would have a heart attack." Brenda said cattily.

    "You aren't thinking..."

"Nope, not going to happen. He's tried to see me a couple times and we have talked. He is so out of my system." Brenda stated firmly.

"Brenda, has there been anyone since" Robin stopped abruptly, "Hi Sonny. How are you?"

Brenda whipped around in her chair, "Hi Sonny want to join us?" Brenda asked wickedly.

Sonny pulled up a chair, "I think I will."

Elizabeth walked past the Nurse's Station and sat down on one of the couches. This was her first appointment that Jason was attending with her. She was nervous as she hadn't really spoken to him. There was an awkwardness that existed there that wasn't there before, now that she was aware of his relationship with Alison. She picked up a magazine and idly flipped through it. She didn't notice when Patrick sat down across from her. "Hey Liz. What's going on."

Carelessly, she threw the magazine down and sighed, "Hi Patrick. I have a doctor's appointment. I am meeting Jason here, I am a little early. How are you and Robin?"

"Were doing great, all things considered. She's moving on." Patrick confided.

"I am sure you are doing a great job helping her. You must be a great support system for her." Liz said.

Patrick leaned back in his seat, "I try to be. Let me know if you ever need a friend." He glanced at his watch, "Well, Liz, I have to get going. I will see you tomorrow, right? You are working, correct?" When she nodded he left.

Elizabeth picked up the magazine again and glanced at her watch. Jason should be there shortly. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Emily bearing down on her. Elizabeth didn't need another confrontation from her, but she was going to get one. "Hello Emily."

"Is it true? Is what Nikolas told me true? You are staying at Wyndamere with him until you patch things up with Lucky?" demanded Emily, hands on her hips.

"I had no place to go Emily." Elizabeth explained.

    "How about your grandmother's?"

"My grandmother is still recovering from her surgery," explained Elizabeth, "I can't bring Cameron and all my stuff there. It would just worry her and I don't want to do that. I would hope that you would understand that."

Emily tapped her foot, "So you chose to move in with my fiance? Don't you realize that this will just push Lucky and Nikolas further apart? God Elizabeth, do you have a conscience?"

Jason stepped out of the elevator and walked over to the two of them. Instantly picking up on the tension he said, "Hey Em, Liz, what's going on?"

Emily whirled around at the sound of Jason's voice. "Jason I am glad you are here. I am upset that Liz lied to everyone about this baby. Why aren't you more upset Jason? She hurt you the most."

"No she didn't Emily." explained Jason, "She has given me something to look forward too. Sure she made some mistakes but everyone has. Including you Emily. You have no right to judge Elizabeth. In fact, you should have asked me how I feel before you told everyone else."

"Jason, that's not what I meant." a properly chastised Emily said.

"Emily, we have to go. We will see you later." Jason said as he guided Elizabeth down the hall, away from an open mouthed Emily.

Bobbie was at the Nurse's station in the emergency room when an ambulance came in. She rushed forward and grabbed Noah. The EMT's unloaded the stretcher, explaining to Bobbie that someone had called 911 reporting that a person was slumped over the wheel of the car. His body temperature was low and he was drunk. Bobbie looked down and realized it was Mac. "Noah! It's Mac Scorpio."

"We have to get Robin down here." Noah said, following the EMTs to a room. "She'll want to know about this. Grab someone and have her paged Bobbie.

"Emily! Page Dr Scorpio to the ER stat!" Bobbie demanded, "And get me some warm towels. We are going to need to warm him up."

Noah helped take him off the stretcher and looked into Mac's eyes. "He is unconscious and not responding to any stimuli. We need to take blood and I think we need to pump his stomach. Help me turn him on his side, in case he vomits." Bobbie helped maneuver Mac to his side as Robin came rushing in.

"Oh dear God. Uncle Mac! What happened?" asked Robin.

Bobbie took the warm towels from Emily and told her to stay and help. She explained to Robin what had happened to Mac. Mac then started to vomit all over the floor, but didn't wake up. Noah wiped his mouth out in case he vomited again. Noah also tried to wake him up but Mac wouldn't awaken. "Bobbie, we definetly have to pump his stomach."

"Ok, Dr. Drake." Bobbie responded efficiently.

"I am going to go call Robert." Robin said. She stepped out of the room as Noah and Bobbie continued working on him. She called him and explained what was going on. He arrived at the hospital a short time later. Shortly after he arrived, Noah came out. "Robert, Dr Scorpio. Mac is conscious now and no longer vomiting. We inserted an IV in him to get fluids in him. We had to pump his stomach. He is sleeping now." Noah paused and wiped his brow, "We are sending some blood down to get his blood alcohol level. I would say it was pretty high. He was vomiting a lot. I am going to level with the two of you. He needs some help. I want to admit him for observation and I am going to arrange for Dr Winters to come speak to him before I release him."

Robert nodded, "We'll do anything we can to help."

Lucky opened the door to his parents house and let himself in. "Mom! Are you home? Mom!" He walked through the living room and called up the stairs, "Mom!"

"Lucky, I will be right down!" called back Laura. She came down the stairs and embraced her son, "This is a pleasant surprise. What's up Lucky?"

Lucky threw himself into a kitchen chair and grabbed a piece of banana bread. He broke it in pieces and shoved one in his mouth. "What makes you think something is wrong?"

"Because you never come over unless there is something wrong." smiled Laura, "Am I right?"

"You're right." Lucky said, frustrated. He looked around the room and focused on the picture of he and Liz on their wedding day. "Look at that picture, we were so happy that day."

Laura patted his hand. "Lucky, tell me." she urged.

"Well, Maxie was right. Liz confessed that the baby is Jason's. Mom, she was never going to tell me. She claims she was trying to spare me, that I was just getting over the addiction and she didn't want me to relapse." Lucky spit out angrily. "I just can't get over this anger I feel. I feel that everything is a lie."

"Have you had a chance to really talk things out?"

"No I told her to get out. I was so mad I couldn't see straight. She came back and I told her to get out. Nikolas went to go find her but I imagine that she is at Jason's." Lucky sputtered.

"Let me get this straight," Laura leaned back and regarded her son, "You kicked your pregnant wife out in December without really talking to her, without giving her the benefit of the doubt? I will tell you she hasn't come here. God Lucky, I thought I raised you better than that." she reprimanded.

Lucky looked at his mother cooly, "What do you mean?"

Laura looked at him angrily, "You have no idea where she is, is that what you are telling me? You better go find her." She softened her voice, "Hear her out Lucky. I raised you better than that. She is your wife and you love her. Listen to her. Go find her."

Lucky stood up, "Thanks Mom. I knew talking to you would help. I love you."

    "I love you too,"

The Winter will bring lots of changes to Port Charles. Some storylines are wrapping up while other storylines are just beginning. Here is what is in store for the next couple months. Feedback is asking fo rmore veterans, so more veterans it is.

Carly/Jax They will get married in a beautiful ceremony surronded by family and friends. Lady Jane takes sick and Carly and Jax move to be with her. It will not be the last we see of them. But they will get the happily ever after.

Elizabeth/Lucky/Emily/Nikolas/Jason. Elizabeth will give birth in early February. The next month has a lot of impact on both Elizabeth and Lucky's relationship and with Nikolas and Emily's. Emily doesn't like that Elizabeth is staying at Wyndemere. Lucky thinks that Jason will horn in on Elizabeth, but Jason may not be the factor.

Robin/Patrick. They are moving in together and are domestic bliss. They will face the problems that every new couple moving in will face.

Lulu/Dillion/Georgie. Lulu and Dillion can't hide their feelings anymore and make love. Georgie chooses to ignore it. Everyone is tiptoeing around her and there are a lot of hiding and lies.

Lucy/Ned/Brenda/Sonny. Brenda can't help it, she will continue to fall under the spell that Sonny weaves. Now that it has been revealed that Ned is James' father, we know why Ned is even more protective of her. If he has too, he will go to all possible lengths that he can so that his son won't get hurt. Including involving Lucy and revealing that James is a Quartermaine.

Scott/Ric/Alexis. The mayor passes away and both Scott and Ric decide to run for mayor. Scott decides that this is a perfect oppurtunity to get to know Alexis better and he knows just how much it will get Ric angry. It spills into the mayoral race. Look for a third party candidate to jump in at the last minute.

Mac/Robert. Mac will go to rehab and will be off the canvas for a short time, but will be back. In the meantime, Robert will be commisioner. Robert finds himself in hot water a lot and needs to be bailed out a few times. Don't be surprised to see some old friends of his turn up.

The Quartermaines. One of the Quartermaines will face a serious health crisis and it will be touch and go. Several people from Pine Valley, PA will be making crossovers. The crisis will be enough to finally bring AJ home, with his new wife, Sarah Webber. Sarah is not the same girl she was when she left, she clearly has an agenda.

Luke and Laura. They will be in a lot of storylines. Right now, they are more in a supporting role and later in the year will have their own storyline which I am currently researching.

2007 will be a good year for "The Citizens of Port Charles" and I hope you will continue to be entertained. PM me anytime and tell me what you would like to see or what you are disliking. Any feedback is welcome.

Lucky pounded on Jason's door. He was trying to track down Elizabeth and her cell phone went straight to voice mail. "Jason, are you there?" Lucky paced in front of Jason's door and pounded again, "Jason!" Lucky's face registered surprise when Alison Barrington opened the door, "Alison. What are you doing here?"

Alison flipped her hair off her face, "Just visiting Jason. Is there anything I can do for you?"

    "Is Jason here?"

Alison stepped back, "No he's not. Come in though Lucky. He should be back in a little bit." She closed the door as Lucky hesitantly walked in, nervously looking around.

"Are you and Jason," Lucky looked at the pretty, rich blonde, "are you two a couple?"

Alison laughed sweetly, "Not really. We like having fun with each oher, you know? It's nothing serious. What can I help you with Lucky?"

"I was wondering if Liz was here." Lucky looked around the penthouse.

Alison shook her head, "She was here the other night and she and Jason talked." Alison glanced at her watch, "In fact Jason went to meet Liz at the hospital for her appointment."

Lucky looked at Alison in shock, "What?"

"Yeah, she had a doctor's appointment and Jason went to meet her." Alison explained. "Is there a problem with that? I know that things are, how can I say it, strained between you two?"

"You could say that Alison," Lucky stated. He walked around the room, looking for evidence that Liz was staying there. He figured that Liz must be there. "Look Alison, I don't mean to be rude, but is Liz staying here?"

Alison looked at him with surprise. "No Lucky. Jason told me that she is staying with Nikolas."

Mac was asleep in his bed at the hospital when Dr Winters walked in. She glanced at his chart and woke him up, "Commisioner Scorpio, I am Dr Winters, a psychiatrist on staff here at the hospital. I hear you had quite the night and morning."

Mac tried to orient himself in the hospital room. He had a massive headache and his mouth felt dry. His stomach also hurt, a result of his stomach being pumped, "What happened to me? What's going on?"

Dr Winters sat down next to the bed, "You were found in your car slumped over the wheel drunk. Your blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit. You had to have your stomach pumped." She paused and continued, "Commisioner, several people have come forward and told me that you are often drunk, including some of the staff here. Why are you doing this to yourself?"

Mac groaned, "Look Doctor, I don't want to talk about this. Why are you here?"

"Your family asked that I come speak to you."

"My family wouldn't do that to me."

"Well Mr Scorpio they have." Dr Williams crossed her legs and said softly, "Look, I know what has happened to you recently. Why don't you make an appointment with me for later this week and we can talk about this more in depth. I would advise it."

Mac closed his eyes, "Not in this lifetime." He turned his head away from her and waited until she left. He didn't want her to see the tears streaming from his eyes.

Lucy walked out of her apartment and headed to the elevator. She was now doing fundraising work for the hospital. She had made more than enough money and didn't even take a salary. She loved her work. She jumped when a hand grasped her arm and twirled her around, "Scott! Oh you scared me!"

"Lucy," Scott said slowly, "You are looking lovely this morning."

"Thank you Scott, but I do need to be going. Ta ta!" Lucy attempted to get past him. He stepped in front of her.

"Not so fast Lucy," Scott said, "Why don't we grab some coffee or something. We have some things to discuss."

Lucy closed her eyes and said in a rush, "Scott, we don't have anything to discuss. What happened between us was just one of those things."

    "I agree"

"So I am sorry if my not wanting to be with you will hurt you, but that's the what? You agree?" Lucy looked at him with surprise, "What do you mean you agree? You can't agree."

    "Why not?" Scott grinned lazily."

Lucy's brows came together as she said, "Because, because you're you and I'm me, that's why!"

Scott crossed his arms and cockily leaned against the wall, "I happen to agree with you that it won't work. You and I were over a long time ago. We hurt each other more than anything. I think it's better that we not try again."

Lucy looked at Scott with confusion. She opened her mouth and closed it again. "Ok....I agree."

"Ok great." Scott said and pushed himself off the wall. "That night was a one night thing. We are old good friends and I hope you know you can count on me for anything. So I will see you later." With that, he pushed the button for the elevator and went in it.

Lucy looked down and realized she had a run in her stocking. She stamped her feet in frustration, "Damnit!"

Brenda and Ned were laying on the floor in the foyer of the living room. James was laying on his blanket and happily playing with his toys. Brenda was explaining to Ned about the other night with Sonny and her feelings for Sonny. Ned was justifabily concerned for his closest friend. He had seen her hurt too many times by the mobster. In the middle of their talk, her cell phone rang, "I better take this, it may be my agent. You don't mind, do you?" Brenda stood up and grabbed her cell phone and walked into the foyer, "Hello"

It was Sonny, "Hi Brenda, it's me."

"Sonny." Brenda sighed audibly, "What can I do for you?"

"I was wondering if we could have dinner soon. Maybe tomorrow."

Brenda bit her lip, not sure what to so. She was silent. "Come on Brenda, I won't bite. I know a great restaurant in the next town that we could go too. No pressure, I swear."

Brenda was interrupted by Tracy, "Hold on Sonny." She turned to Tracy, "I'm sorry, did you say something Tracy?"

"I was looking for Ned. Do you know where he is?" Tracy asked, coat in hand and ready to leave for the day.

Brenda pointed to the living room. "He's in there." She watched as Tracy poked her head in and asked Ned a question. She soon left him and went out the front door. "I'm back Sonny." She said, doubt in her voice.

Sonny's confident voice rang through the line, "What do you say Brenda? For old time's sake? How about it. You have my word I won't do anything, unless you want me too of course."

"Sonny, it's not that." She sighed, confused on what she should do. She ached to see him, but she knew she shouldn't. "Ok, Sonny tomorrow night is good. If I can't get a babysitter, I will let you know. Pick me up at the Quartermaines at seven. I gotta go." Brenda hung up the phone and swallowed audibly. She hoped she knew what she was doing. She walked back into the living room.

Ned had picked up James and was tickling him. James was laughing with pleasure. "Who was that?"

"Sonny. I am going to dinner with him. Do you mind watching James?" Brenda smiled at James. "I know you like to spend time with him and I would appreciate it."

Ned blew a raspberry on James' stomach. "James, do you mind, if Daddy watches you while your Mommy goes out?" Ned looked over at Brenda. "See, James doesn't mind. I do have to go out at nine tomorrow, but Monica and Alan will be here. I am sure there will be someone here."

Brenda leaned over and ruffled James black hair, "As long as it's not his evil grandmother."

Ned laughed, "My mother will not watch my son. No way. I don't want anyone knowing he is a Quartermaine. I want James to have a normal childhood."

Brenda kissed James' forehead, "He will Ned, he will."

A very reliable source is stating that within the next week or two a beloved veteran will be back on a recurring basis. Sources say that she has already appeared on CPC and will be seen throughout the winter. She will be without her husband at this time. Who could it be? I MAE tell you, if I feel like it.....

Carly pounds on Jason's door, eager to speak to him. She hasn't been able to track him down for a while now and she really needed to talk to him. He opened the door and she pushed her way in, "Jeez Jason, what the hell have you been doing in the last few weeks? You are never around. I was going to bring the kids over to see you but I wasn't sure you would be here."

Jason sighed, "Sorry Carly, been busy."

Carly throws her purse down, "Been busy he says. Like the rest of us haven't been busy. How are you? What's been going on?" She chided.

"Well, you are going to find out anyway." Jason started.

"Oh I know, you're the daddy of Liz's baby. I hoped you told her to take a flying leap into hell for not telling you." Carly said, sitting down.

"Actually Carly, that wasn't what I was going to tell you. And I will be helping Elizabeth." Jason glanced over at her and confided, "I have been seeing someone."

Carly's mouth dropped open, "No way! Who?"

"Alison Barrington." Jason quickly shot a glance at her to shut her up before she said anything and continued, "It isn't anything serious. We are just enjoying each other's company right now. More like a friendship, but a little more than that."

Surprised, Carly said, "Wow, Alison Barrington. Wow."

"Is that all you have to say?" Jason said cautiously. He knew how Carly was and eventually she would have an opinion, "If you have anything to say about it, tell me now."

Innocently Carly looked at him, "What makes you say that Jason?" She said sweetly.

"Because you have an opinion on everything."

Carly shrugged her shoulders, "I barely know the girl. If she makes you happy, thats good enough for me." Carly stood up and walked around his penthouse, Jason warily watching her. "I have a favor to ask of you."

Jason knew she wanted something, "What is it Carly?"

She smiled up at him, "Jax and I are getting married and I want you to be my best man. I want you to stand up next to me. Were getting married in two weeks." Carly paused, "Please say you'll do it Jason, please. You're my best friend and I can't get married without you."

    Jason sighed, "OK."

Brenda was putting the finishing touches on her makeup. James was with Emily and Nikolas and Sonny was picking her up shortly. She scrutinized herself in the mirror. She had decided on black leather pants and a red cowl neck sweater and threatened to expose her shoulder. She had pulled some of her hair back, and curled the rest. Despite herself, she wanted to look her best tonight.

She heard the doorbell ring and the butterflies fluttered in her stomach. "You can do this Brenda." She whispered to her image. She walked down the staircase to where Sonny was waiting. She felt like this was her very first date ever. "Hi Sonny " she said brightly as she reached the bottom of the stairs. "You look nice." He was dressed in a black Armani suit with a midnight blue shirt underneath.

"Thank you, you look gorgeous as well. You ready?" Sonny indicated the door. She followed him out to his Mercedes. He opened the door for her, "What, you're driving? No driver tonight?"

Sonny got in the driver's seat, "Naawww. Thought it would be more fun just you and me. Can't make my move with Max here." Sonny glanced over at Brenda with a half smile on his face.

Brenda laughed, "Oh whatever." She looked out the window and asked, "Where are we going anyway?"

"There's a restaurant about a half hour outside of Port Charles that I thought you would enjoy. It serves French food and is very elegant."Sonny replied.

"Sounds good." She lapsed into silence as his car smoothly drove through the snow. "I can't believe that we are finally getting snow. I hope it doesn't amount to much." Brenda commented idly.

Sonny pulled into the restaurant's parking lot, "Ahhh, I am sure it won't be bad." Soon they were seated in the elegant, candlelit restaurant. After they ordered and got their drinks he sat back and contemplated Brenda, "I never thought you would come out with me."

Brenda shrugged, "I never thought I would either Sonny."

    "So why did you?"

"I don't know." she answered honestly.

Sonny rubbed the rim of his wine glass with his finger, "Are you back for good Brenda? Please, be honest with me. This is me you are talking too. I really want to know."

Brenda's eyes were luminous, "Yes Sonny, I am staying. For good."

"I would like to think that some part, well, some part is for me." Sonny's eyes bored into hers.

Brenda visibally swallowed, "Sonny, I came back for my son. You have children. Everything is about the children now." She was saved from saying anything more when there food arrived. "Tell me about Michael and Morgan."

On safer ground, Sonny and Brenda lapsed into conversation about their children. They shared stories and they made each other laugh. She told him how scared she was the first time James fell and bumped his head the first time. He told her about the joy he felt seeing Morgan walk the first time. All in all, Brenda and Sonny enjoyed their dinner.

Once outside, the snow and wind had picked up dramatically. The rushed to the car and Sonny started it up. He looked over at Brenda who was rubbing her hands together. Sonny grabbed them and put them between his. She slowly raised her eyes to his. He leaned over and kissed her thouroughly. He leaned back and whispered against her mouth, "God Brenda, I want you."

"Sonny, I think we should go." breathed Brenda. She was breathing heavily and her heart was pounding. She could feel Sonny's heart racing. "In fact Sonny, I know we should go."

Sonny with his lips inches from hers pleaded, "Brenda, please." He put his hands on both sides of her face, framing it. He looked deeply into her eyes and held her stare. He leaned in closer and she responded. Her lips touched his and they began passionately kissing. Sonny couldn't get enough of her. He was exactly where he wanted to be, kissing Brenda. Her soft lips molded perfectly to his like they always had. Her tongue tasted like the fine wine that she drank at dinner. His breathing was ragged when she manuevered her hand up his chest and pushed him gently away.

"Sonny," she said softly, "Please stop."

Reluctantly Sonny pulled himself together and put the car in gear. Brenda was staring out the window. A heavy silence fell between them which turned the mood awkward. "Sonny, I am sorry."

"Brenda, it's ok. I understand." Sonny reassured.

"Thank you." She said simply and continued watching the snow fall.

Lucy walked into Metro Court dressed in a tight velour red dress. Her confidence was low since Scott rejected her. She was suppossed to reject him and he go after her. Not him agreeing with her that their relationship should end. There was a Christmas party/benefit being held at Metro Court to help raise money for the hospital. She got a drink and glanced around the room. She couldn't believe what she saw, Scott and Alexis! Lucy put her drink down and went over to say hello. "Hi Scott, hi Alexis, are you two having a good time? I wasn't aware that either one of you liked classical music." A local string quartet was playing that night.

Alexis smiled at her and responded, "Actually I do. I love classical music. I didn't realize that you did too Scott."

Scott smiled lazily at her, "Of course I do. I have been listening to it all my life."

"You have?" Lucy asked incrediously. "How come you never told me that?"

"You never asked Lucy. Now if you don't mind, Alexis and I were going to go sit down and talk some more. I'm sure we will see you later Lucy." Scott grinned and cockily guided Alexis away.

"Ta ta!" Lucy waved them off, although furious. She watched the two of them and didn't notice Ned come up to her.

"Hi Lucy." Ned said, picking up a glass of wine from a nearby waiter. "You are looking lovely tonight. Of course, you always do."

Lucy appraised him and cocked an eyebrow. She looked over at Scott and looked back at Ned, "Thank you Ned. You like classical music? I suppose you do, you being a Quartermaine and all."

Ned shrugged, "It's ok. I just needed to get out of the house." He looked around the room and saw Scott and Alexis. He chuckled, "I can't believe it."

    "What?"

"Scott and Alexis. Look at him." Ned used his glass to point to the two of them, "You can tell that Scott has one thing on his mind by how he is leaning into her and talking with his hands. Classic Scott Baldwin moves. You should know."

Lucy sighed, "Tell me about it." Lucy looked around, "Ned, want to get out of here? This really isn't my sort of thing and I have put in my apperance. Let's go upstairs."

Halfway home, Sonny's car slipped on black ice and went into a snowbank. Neither Sonny nor Brenda were hurt, but Sonny couldn't get the car in gear. He called AAA and Max to come pick them up. Max had the Range Rover and would be there in no time. Although Sonny didn't mind if he took all night. He looked over at Brenda, who was shivering. "Cold?" When she nodded, he gave her his coat and wrapped it around her.

"Thanks Sonny." She sat and contemplated him, "You are not mad are you?"

He smiled indulgently at her, "Brenda no. I know you need time. I am willing to give you that time. From the moment I saw you at the Nurse's Ball, it was like the first time I saw you at the pier. Remember that? You took my breath away then too. You still do. I know you are thinking of the bad times, but we also had good times too. I remember dancing together on our second date and how wonderful it felt to hold you in my arms. The trips to Puerto Rico."

Brenda interrupted him, "I remember getting shot at in the shower and you throwing me out on my hands and knees. I remember watching you get shot in front of me. I will not subject my child to that. I love James far too much for that kind of life."

"Brenda I have three children. I am out of the mob." Sonny explained.

    "I don't believe you."

"Believe this." He leaned over and kissed her again and again. She gave in to the moment and wrapped her arms around him pulling him closer. He pulled her against his chest and started rubbing his hands all over her. She contemplated making love to him when a car pulled up. Max was behind them. Sonny swore under his breath.

"Were just getting started Brenda" Sonny said.

Lucy walked into her penthouse and faced Ned. Not having a care in the world, she closed the door and walked to Ned. He cocked an eyebrow at her as she raised her mouth for a kiss. Ned kissed her thouroughly and hungrily. He pressed her close so she could feel his growing arousal. Without a word, she led him to the bedroom and flipped on the light. She stripped and got into bed. Ned followed her quickly, kissing her passionately. He entered her quickly as she wrapped her legs around his. They moved in time together. She gasped for breath as she scratched her nails down his back, drawing blood. The came together and both screamed. Ned rolled off her and they faced the ceiling.

"Next time, you are on top. I will be ready when you are." Ned said.

Lucy grabbed him and said, "I'm ready."

    Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the Quartermaine manse
    Everyone was dreaming
    including one Ms Brenda Barrett.....

"Brenda!" Sonny yelled, "Are you almost ready? What is taking you so long?" Sonny came stomping through the penthouse with the twins, Michael 1 and Michael 2 following close behind. "We have guests arriving shortly and Michael 1 and Michael 2 are following me around the kitchen and I can't cook. Can you please help me out here?"

Brenda looked up from her dressing table. Her black hair was all teased out and she was dressed in lounging pajamas. It was Christmas Day and they were having the Christmas meal for all their friends and family. And some enemies that Sonny had insisted on inviting. She had just applied her makeup and was getting up. She looked down at her burgeoning belly, she was eight months pregnant with her fourth child. She and Sonny had been married ten years. "Come with Mama boys. Where is your sister Michalea?"

Sonny strode out of the room and Michael 1 jumped on the bed. The twins were eight years old and were identical. They were the spitting image of Sonny. "Mama, Michaela is with Lily. Lily is dressing her and making sure she eats her breakfast."

Brenda grabbed Michael 1's hand and guided him off the bed, "Let's go find Lily then, ok?" She and the twins went off in search of Lily, their maid of several years now and Michaela, aged four and a half. They found the two of them in the playroom. "Lily, how is my little girl today?"

"Mama!" Michaela raced forward and soundly kissed her mother on the cheek. "Lily and I have been reading a story."

"Excellent" Brenda kissed Michaela and pushed back her blonde hair. "Lily, is the living room all set up for our guests? Are the hor doeurves ready? I expect people to be arriving shortly and want to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch. Do you understand that? Where is Jasper, do you know?

"Jasper is doing some last minute dusting. The house is immaculate and the children will stay up here with me while you and the guests dine. Jasper will be serving the meal and making sure everything runs smoothly. Can I do anything for you Mrs Corinthos?" Lily asked.

Brenda kissed her children and walked out of the room, "That will be all Lily." She walked down the stairs and ran into Jasper Jax, former tycoon who lost all his money in bad investments. Sonny hired him to be his butler and personal driver. "Jasper, how does the house look?"

"Mrs Corinthos, everything is immaculate. I even took a white glove to it. What else can I do for you?" Jax asked.

Brenda surveyed the rooms in front of her and walked slowly around. She eyed Jax up and down. It was no coincidence that Michaela was a blonde. "Nothing at this time. Just stand at the door and escort our guests in when they arrive." Brenda then headed towards the kitchen where she found her husband of ten years leaning over the stove inspecting everything. Brenda wrapped her arms around him and kissed him, "Honey, everything will go off without a hitch. You never did tell me what we were having."

Sonny walked her out of the kitchen and kissed her passionately, "We have a spiral ham" He kissed her again, "A turkey," He kissed her again, "Mashed potatoes," kissing her again, "stuffing of course, " he kissed her neck this time causing Brenda to giggle, "salad" he kissed her forehead, "corn and a green bean casserole," he kissed each eye, "homemade cranberry sauce," he kissed her nose, "gravy" he lightly kissed her lips, "sweet potatoes," kissing her again, "homemade rolls" and kissed her soundly.

Brenda looked deeply into his eyes, "What's for dessert?" she whispered.

"You." They were interrupted by a discreet clearing of the throat by Jax. "Mr and Mrs Corinthos, Mr and Mrs Ashton are here." Brenda waddled forward as fast as she could to hug Lois. "Lois, it has been way too long, how have you been?"

"Oh my Gawd Brenda you are so big! I can't believe you are pregnant again. Sonny kept his promise to keep you barefoot and pregnant!" Lois shreiked, hugging Brenda.

Brenda looked her best friend up and down. Only Lois could pull off a red leather jumpsuit on Christmas. "True! How is L&B?"

"L&B has been doing just fabulous. We have been touring with Miguel. He is just so hot these days. Now where are Michael 1 and 2 and Michaela? Are they upstairs?" Lois said, talking animately, her long Santa Claus nails catching the light.

"Yes they are. Ned it is so good to see you back in Port Charles." Brenda leaned forward and kissed his cheek.

"It's good to be here. Thank you Sonny for having us. God knows what we will be having at the Quartermaines later." Ned answered. "Usually we do end up eating turkey on Christmas, it's just Thanksgiving we have pizza."

"Oh Nedly," Lois laid her hand on his arm, "You know, I never figured out how Michaela turned out so blond when you and Sonny are so dark."

Brenda was saved by saying anything by the arrival of Jax, "Mrs Corinthos, Mr Morgan and Ms Benson are here."

Brenda quickly turned to Lois, "My sister was a blonde." Jason walked over to Sonny and the two of them began talking about business. They sat down as Jax brought out some hor doeurves for everyone. Brenda hugged Carly and said, "I am so glad you and Jason could make it. I am glad you two made up. You two are perfect for each other."

Carly hugged Brenda back, "He is my soulmate, just like Sonny is yours. Now, how far along are you?"

Brenda rubbed her stomach and turned to their guests, "Sonny and I have an announcement. Sonny, I hope you don't mind me saying anything, but Carly just asked and my best friends are here."

Sonny waved his hand and said, "Go ahead, tell them sweetie." Brenda was going to speak when Jax came in and said, "Mr Morez and Miss Scorpio are here."

Carly and Brenda looked at each other, their contempt for Robin Scorpio well known. Ever since she told AJ Quartermaine that he was the father of Carly's baby, not Jason she was not their friend. She was only there because she and Miguel Morez were now an item. He was the top act for L&B Records and Miguel was touring. Robin was touring with him along with Lois and Ned. "Hi Miguel." Brenda said sweetly, "Robin." Brenda swept past her and sat down next to Sonny. "As I was about to say, we found out we are going to have twins!"

Lois and Carly jumped up and hugged Brenda, "Oh. My. Gawd. When did you find out?" Lois asked, waving her hands in excitement.

"A week ago. One of the babies is behind the other so they couldn't see him or her and they couldn't detect the heartbeat. But they are definetly two heartbeats." Brenda announced.

Jax walked in, "Excuse me Mr Corinthos. Dinner is served." The group followed Sonny into the dining room and sat down.

Sonny was at the head of the table and started the conversation, "So Miguel, how is the tour going?"

"It is going very well thank you. I love seeing all of the country. Especially with Robin coming with me." He leaned over and grasped her hand. "She makes everything more beautifu

"Oh please." muttered Carly. She grabbed a roll and glanced at Brenda. "Miguel, where are you off to next?"

"Miami for a New Year's Eve concert." Miguel said politely.

Carly broke open the roll and said, "Watch your back around Robin. She may stab it in your sleep. You do know Miguel that she is the reason that I lost my child. She had to go and open her big mouth and tell AJ that he was the father when it was none of her damn business."

Jason leaned over and patted Carly's hand, "Carly, that's enough."

Lois broke in and waved her fork around, "Gawd, it is going to be the biggest concert with the most exposure for Miguel. His album is selling millions and he is so awesome on the stage." Lois said in her heavy New York accent. "I wish you alls could come down for it."

Sonny looked at Brenda with amusement, "Honey could you see us with our brood in Miami? Miguel, when Michael 1 and 2 are a little older, I will take them to one of your concerts."

Robin looked over at Lois, "Where's Brook Lynn?"

"She decided to stay in New York with her grandparents for the holidays then she will join us for New Years." Answered Ned.

"So Robin, ruin any lives lately?" Carly broke in. "Or was it just mine and Jason's that you decided to ruin since you can't have any kids, you decided that you needed to make someone else as miserable as you."

    "Carly, stop it." warned Jason.

"If it wasn't for Robin you and I would be raising our son. Now AJ has full custody of him and I barely see him. Thanks Robin. Thanks a lot." Carly snapped.

Robin glared at Carly and at Brenda, "That's not true and you know it. You are always lying about something Carly. My God, how many years did you lie to Bobbie about not being her daughter? How can you live with yourself?"

Miguel put his arm around Robin, "Carly, Robin had to do what she thought was right."

Brenda spoke up, "And ruin the life of a little boy and Carly and Jason's as well. Nice work. She does that and then takes off and doesn't face the consequences." Brenda threw down her fork and turned to Sonny, "I told you Sonny that we shouldn't have invited her. I didn't want to upset Carly and she is. Robin is a constant reminder that she can't spend the day with her son."

"Exactly Brenda. I have to look at Robin's face and see my beautiful boy and know I can't see him on Christmas. Thanks you b!tch!" With that Carly threw her roll at Robin. Robin retaliated by throwing a forkful of mashed potatoes at Carly, missing and hit Jason. Carly got angrier and dug her hands into the cranberry sauce and threw it at Robin, hitting Robin, Miguel and Lois.

"STOP IT!" yelled Sonny. "You two are acting like children. My twins act better than you at times Carly. This is Christmas and we are all adults. Can't we all get along? Don't you agree with me Brenda? Brenda?"

"Um, Sonny, my water broke. I'm in labor." Brenda clutched her back as Ned and Sonny raced to get her up. Sonny was screaming to Jax to get the car and soon thereafter, Brenda was at the hospital. In the delivery room, Sonny clutched her hand while the cranberry clad group of Robin, Miguel and Lois were on one side, Jason, Carly and Ned on the other. They all were there when Micheal 3 and Michael 4 were born an hour after she got there.

Brenda looked up at Sonny who leaned down and kissed her, "This is the best Christmas ever." she cried out.

Tossing and turning in her bed at the mansion, Brenda woke up and screamed.

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas....

All around Port Charles, families and friends gathered to celebrate Christmas.

~Patrick picked up Robin and took her for a ride. He stopped in front of a new house with a sold sign in front of it. She looked at him questioningly. He informed her that this was her Christmas gift, provided he accept him with it. Filled with joy, she hugged and kissed him. Patrick had a key and the two of them walked through the white clapboard house with the farmer's porch. There were black shutters and a white picket fence. The house had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room and kitchen. There was a dining room and den. Robin raised her lips and sweetly kissed Patrick, swearing her love for him.

~Ric was with Molly at Metro Court for Christmas brunch. He looked across the room at the families dining together and wondered where he went wrong. At least he had Molly for the day.

~Nikolas, Emily and Elizabeth were having an uncomfortable Christmas together. For the children, they were trying to keep their spirits up and Emily and Elizabeth were trying not to let their animosity show. The living room was filled with toys and unwrapped paper as Cameron went from toy to toy.

~Jason and Alison were in Jason's king size bed, lazily passing the morning. Having already made love twice, they were now wrestling and laughing together. Jason hadn't been this happy since Sam died. Alison was bringing a new light for him and she actually made him laugh.

~At the Corinthos household, Sonny, Alexis, Carly and Jax had gathered so that their collective brood of children could be together. They opened up their gifts and the adults had mimosas and cheese. They were going to have a large dinner later, when Molly came home. Sonny and Jax had tried to outdo the other in the best gift department and the children were reaping the benefits. Michael, Morgan and Kristina had more gifts than imaginable. Jax stole Carly away for a moment and gave her a five carat princess cut sapphire ring surronded by diamonds. Alexis went into the bathroom and cried over the loss of Sam. Sonny went into the kitchen and called Brenda. When Brenda saw who it was on her cell phone, she let her voice mail pick it up.

~Bobbie, Noah, Lucy, and even Scott descended on the Scorpio household. They knew that Mac and Robert weren't much on the cooking. They brought with them a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, corn, a green bean casserole, fresh rolls and gravy. Robin and Patrick came over and Georgie joined them too. A prayer was said for Felicia and Maxie and tears flowed. Mac stepped away and glanced at a family photograph of him, Felicia, Maxie and Georgie. He didn't notice Bobbie behind him until she sat down and hugged him.

~At the Quartermaine's Edward was holding court at the head of the table. Alan, Tracy, Monica, Ned, Dillion, Brenda, Justus and Lainey were all there for Christmas dinner. The usual sniping was going on between Tracy, who had fortified herself with some Manhattans, and Monica. Edward calmed everyone down by leading a prayer and remembering Lila, Mary Mae and Bradley Ward. He was also saddened that Jason and AJ couldn't be there. But he was thankful that Brenda had returned home with James and so happy that she named him after him.

~At the Spencer's, laughter filled the air. Laura and Lulu were cooking and Luke and Lucky were telling stories of past holidays. It was just going to be the four of them this year, a fact that Laura was trying to overcome. She wished that Nikolas would come over, but that would mean bringing Elizabeth. The brothers were now at war. She had pleaded with Lucky to let things go for the day. She had already called and spoke to both Nikolas and Elizabeth and pleaded that they come over. She wanted to see her grandson. When the doorbell rang, she was overjoyed when Liz, Nikolas and Emily came in. This truly made the day complete. Lucky tried to be civil yet he also avoided Liz as well. Catching onto the tension, Luke told the story of him and Laura being caught in Wyndham's and how they danced the night away. Lulu jumped up and down, wanting them to dance.

"Mrs. Spencer, may I have this dance?" Luke held out his hand to his wife.

Nikolas and Lucky moved the furniture so that Luke and Laura could dance in the living room. Luke swept Laura around the room as everyone was caught up in the magical moment. For that brief moment, all their troubles were forgotten....

    Merry Christmas!
