The last Hart mended his relationship with Roger. How the show did it made no sense, but they mended their differences. Holly, Vanessa and Blake all said Roger loved his grandchildren. The show did show Roger dotting over them and giving them priority over work. Vanessa used Peter and manipulated Bridget to go after Roger. That wasn't out of love of Peter. IMO, Hart and Bridget should have had 50/50 custody and Vanessa just get to have him every once in a while when Hart and Bridget ok'd it.

I don't feel sympathy for the Dinah fans at all. Now they know how it feels when a character you like is used to look like an idiot to prop up another (Roger for me). What is even funnier is that Roger stayed with Amanda longer than any woman he's ever been with and they didn't even bother with a love story with them after Michael Zaslow was fired. It also was pathetic how the healthy New Roger spent barely any time with his Grandchildren after Michael Zaslow was fired. That's something I really liked with Roger...he truly loved his Grandchildren and they showed it. The show wasted an opportunity for a better relationship between him and Bridget. I think bringing Nola back was a mistake as it took away from Bridget. BTW, for a rich woman, Amanda wore the same outfits so many times, it was sad. Amanda was such a wasted character and it didn't get any better when they brought in Victoria. I didn't watch it, but I read how well GH did their farewell to Monica and it shows how a show should do a farewell to an actor that was so part of the show's history.

Beth lasted way longer than her original stint though. I always thought the fake marriage between her and Rick should have went on longer. Did they ever have them be friends again? I looked up about Drew and saw her storyline. It was kind of a shoehorned role and all over the place. The actress who played her was gorgeous though!

Now this is a soap opera! The fight between Roger and Ed is dramatic, but grounded in reality. Not the stupid over the top stuff the late 90s until it's end, IMO. @Stevel Yes, he was. I think all the actors in this storyline did an excellent job. Too bad they didn't have the pull Kim Zimmers did.

She was?! I never knew that about Fiona! So interesting how it's never really mentioned. I got to find her scenes. Although, I doubt they are easily found. Perhaps the German ones on YouTube has her scenes. BTW, I finally found there are 3rd party sites that do translate but only give you the first 10 mins free and then you have to pay big money to watch the rest. Which sucks. I finally found out what they were talking about in a 1990 episode with a board meeting that had Roger, Henry, Holly and surprise guest Mindy. It was over some 200th celebration of the founding of Springfield and an episode where Mindy was on the Love Bug saying what she wanted in man. ETA I found Fiona in a 1985 GL episode with Jhonny and Rick!? @prefab1 The reason I didn't care for the late 90s version is because Beth's character had a strong core when she was dealing with regaining her memory, the death of Neil, the whole Phillip trial, etc. She also had a strong relationship with her mom. There is NO way I buy a Beth that would fall apart over Phillip. Phillip was the one obsessed with her.

This is the old forum I found Search Conversations There are so few places to find old posts to really get a feel of how viewers thought of things. Plus, this was like the very beginning of online forums. Michael passed away before we really got a feel of viewers thoughts on storylines! @kalbir You are welcome! BTW, has anyone used a third party website to translate a YouTube video that doesn't have closed captioning? I am thinking of trying it. There have been so many times the show tries to make a character work and it fall flat like with the lady that worked for Ross, Suzanne Deveraux. I never bought her shoehorned storyline working for Roger (as well as being his lover). Talk about NO chemistry with either Roger or Ross.

I never bought into the friendship of Lillian and Alexandra. Not that the actresses weren't good, but I just never bought into it. @kalbir Michael passed away in Dec 1998. They did the tribute in 1999. I read a forum that time that was underwhelmed by it. It's interesting to read things that happened in the time the showed originally aired.

Tina Sloan and Beth Chamberlin clicked really well. I really bought into their Mother/Daughter relationship. I loved how Beth was an artist & how her Mom bragged about it to Roger. How were Tina and Judi together? That is why I was mad when the show got rid of Phillip, Beth and Rick all at the same time. I really liked Beth and Mindy's friendship and Beth wasn't around for Mindy's wedding...just horrible to me.

I thought it clumsy at best. It was between Mindy and Alexandra. Why either of them would be at the wedding is beyond me. They got into a so called fight and ended up in the fountain. Which was very shallow. Anyone recall where they held the wedding? Of course, there is no way to post the video as I can't find it. Blake got pushed into a pool by Holly in 92 and Dinah in 95. I recall seeing some YouTube video of Reva and one of her sons being pushed into a fountain. Again, I don't get what it was all about or where it started. Correction...Reva's son Jonathan jumped into the fountain.
