As I've said before, Ron had a really good opportunity with Challie. But, he wasted it both by not showing them timely & consistently & with some really poor writing. Allie seemed to get the brunt of the bad writing. So, yes, it's fair to say that Ron had it in for her.

Initially Allie had more spirit & then they watered her down, so she began as a good inheritor of her mother's spirit & fire but ended up not nearly so.

I have long wished to have a teen Sydney on the show.

Ron brought adult Allie onto the show lol

The storyline in the Dial commercial that @Wendy posted upthread plays almost exactly like something you might've seen on Bill Bell's DAYS: the bridesmaid is upset because she's not the bride (who is likely marrying the man that the bridesmaid has been in love with forever), but thanks to a bouquet toss and a piece of cake handed to her across a crowded table (not to mention, a little Dial soap), she just might be embarking on a romance of a lifetime with a tall, handsome stranger who is literally sweeping her off her feet.

How do you know what would have been seen on Bell’s Days? Just how old are you?

Only to play Thomas. No reason to think she is interested in more. Reason to think she is NOT.

If she didn’t wanna do it, she wouldn’t do it.

She did four episodes of Beyond Salem and jumped at the chance to do it.

She also did five episodes of the main show in 2021.

I’m certain she’d be up for filming 1-3 episodes a month. Kristen, Susan, and her other characters don’t need to appear any more frequently than that.

They will be invested she is linked the Horton. Just as they did Nathan when he was introduced.  She is suppose to be a random newbie, for she will be a newly created character.

I think you have overestimated how many viewers care about the Hortons. No one who started watching in the past 30 years is a hardcore Horton stan. We watched in the 90s and 2000s and we know Marlena’s family has earned its place at the centre of Days of our Lives.

    🤣 right!

Ooohhhh….your name tells me everything I need to know about you.

    Nevermind!

  5. I bought Playgirl when Jett Carver went full frontal and I’d buy it again if any of these others do as well.

For ED & Sweeney it's not about having money. It's about them not wanting to be here. Why can't you get this?!

Eileen has returned as recently as last April so it’s weird that you think she doesn’t want to be here.

  6. Days is budget-conscious so toss the dead weight. Rogers, Taylor, Koslow, Harry, Nichols, and Evans all need to be demoted to recurring.

Klein, Godfrey, Telfer, Vaughan, Wilson, Martsolf, and Gering can all take a hike too.

Use that money to bring back fan faves like Eileen Davidson, Alison Sweeney, Jason Cook, Jay Kenneth Johnson, Louise Sorel, Missy Reeves, Matt Ashford, Casey Moss, Charles Shaughnessy, Patsy Pease, Charlotte Ross, Christie Clark, Patrick Muldoon, Kirsten Storms, Farah Fath, Brody Hutzler, Andrea Hall, Peter Reckell, Kristian Alfonso, Lisa Rinna, etc, etc.

I thought she was quite good, too.

This could be a good time to age up Arianna Horton...and maybe NOT cast a blonde actress since the character is supposed to be half Latina.

I think we already know how much you dislike the Hortons.

Just the old crones Maggie and Julie and random Hortons or Hortons who haven’t appeared in 30+ years. The Hortons I love are Jennifer (Missy) and her family, Hope and her family, and Lucas and his family.

Bring back Jennifer (Missy), Jack, JJ, Abby, Hope, Bo, Shawn, Ciara, Claire, Will, Sonny, Arianna, Allie, and Henry.

LMAO I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh at the idea of Suzanne Rogers' Maggie bothering someone that much.

She can’t act. Go back and watch the scenes where Maggie tried to kill herself. Soooo bad!

Lol!  Also if you vaguely read the TLDR of the court documents between Dee and her ex-husband.  He's the ass.  If SR is part of it that's on her, but DH is lucky to be rid of him.

I don't even like Maggie and I don't know why anyone would want her off the show.  She's been on the show for years and years.  She's part of the history of the Hortons.

She’s eating up a contract that could go to someone else, probably even two actors. She adds nothing to the show and hasn’t since the 80s. She’s a waste of space and money. If Days won’t outright get rid of her, drop her to recurring and show her once a month.

Given that Sally was older and plus sized, she could easily have been either a one dimensional villainess or strictly comic relief but it was the combination of Bill Bell's writing and Darlene Conley's acting that made Sally a complex and layered character. We saw Sally as a businesswoman and a mother, plus she even had a romantic life.

On the male side of the equation, there's got to be that happy medium between six pack and dad bod.

Why in the [!@#$%^&*] would we care what a bunch of old people do in their real life that has nothing to do with what goes on onscreen?

Why would anyone look at Roger's differently cause she slept with a single man some damn 30 yrs ago just cause he happened to be Dee ex husband? I promise you don't know one give a damn about that old pot belly bat. I promise this an'it the hill too die on.

I want Rogers’ fans to step back and I want her off the show entirely. I’ve felt this way for twenty years.

21 minutes ago, Dr Neil Curtis said:

Not at all. Reason why I want him gone

Days need to be smart and use the young Alice actress to introduce a new Horton, Grayson Horton, MD, daughter of Sandy Horton

That’s just a random newbie with a last name slapped on her. I promise you people will not care about this character the way they do Sami, Eric, Belle, Johnny, Will, etc.

Yes, I'm quite suspicious that Lindsay Arnold was one of the people who left because of Alarr's treatment of her. And, also I thought she was quite good. I'd love to have her back *if they would write for her*!!

I also thought her exit was suspicious. They should try to get her back, if only to shut up the Horton fans.

So far, the guys mentioned in the shoot are Robert Scott Wilson, Christopher Sean, Eric Martsolf, Bryan Dattilo, and Paul Telfer.

Sure hope Bryan got his hair cut...

I sure hope this means Christopher Sean is returning full time.

Uh...I don't think you know how any of this works. No one's running things from home and getting paid under the table. LOL You're acting as if Alarr is the only one capable of running this soap.

And "with contempt"? You don't even know what happened or when. You know absolutely nothing, and yet you want us to treat an actor with contempt. Jesus.

Rogers was on the backburner for decades because she no longer had anything to offer the show. Tomlin started using her more in the early 2010s to replace Deidre. She needs to return to appearing once a month or less.

There is no chance NBC, Sony or Corday is letting these dudes go dick out, nor would most of them be willing to lol.

Days filmed and cut a scene with Martsolf’s bare ass.

  12. 35 minutes ago, ranger1rg said:

Where are you getting this? There's no way Corday and Company would keep Alarr on in any way after all that happened, let alone with this kind of subterfuge.

Huh? Suzanne Rogers is 80. How would you like us to look at her?

I’m talking about running things from home by proxy (Janet) and being paid for it under the table.

Whatever it is that's keeping Deidre and Suzanne apart on-screen and off-, I wish the two would find a way to overcome it.  There have been so many times when it didn't make sense for Maggie and Marlena not to be in the same scene.

Why drag Marlena down like that?

One of my all-time favourite episodes was from 2003 when Maggie was brutally murdered by Marlena. She should have never been brought back.

  14. There’s no need to bring back old Hortons who haven’t been seen in decades or create brand-new ones.

There are plenty of Hortons to bring back who the audience already cares about: Jennifer (Missy), Jack, Abby, JJ, Hope, Bo, Shawn, Belle, Ciara, Ben, Claire, Allie, Henry, Will, Sonny, Arianna, Eli, Lani, Jules, and Carver.

I wonder if they would bring in Dougs son Dougie... It would be a character with a lot of back story they could explore and it would give hope a sibling on the canvas.

He’s a character with zero backstory who hasn’t appeared in 50 years. Days doesn’t need another 50+ man on the show, especially one with no connections.

Hope already has a sibling on the canvas.

Hope has no relationship with Dougie or Steven. How about Hope’s relationship with her children and grandchildren?

Lovely episode!  The young woman playing Alice really channeled Frances Reid.

Regardless of why SR and DH fell out, they are obviously capable of working together professionally and the scenes were nice.

I loved the show brought up that Roman/RoJohn/Marlena lived next door.

You know, I never really ever thought GR was the problem with Leo.  He's just rolling with the writing.

All in all I enjoyed today.

The reason why they fell out matters. Hopefully it’ll make people look at Rogers in a different light.

I long for the days when Maggie only appeared once every couple of months and when Julie was on one of her many cruises.

Yeah, good resemblance lookswise at least - I'm happy to hear that she did well actingwise too apparently. Maybe they should introduce her as a character from a Horton branch (Sandy should surely have kids?).

Sandy hasn’t been heard from in 40+ years.

Days is not trying to appeal to senior citizens who still remember long-ago characters. It would make much more sense to use this actress as an Allie recast or Sydney or a Claire recast.

    Before anything, I have to say… A Marlena/Maggie scene!!!!!!! 😮😃😃

It was brief but I honestly never thought we’d see one of those again.

As unnecessary as the fire was and always will be, today was absolutely beautiful. One of those episodes that really shows you and tells you what soap opera is. And despite Chad saying that the house was gone, I love that it’s still standing and that Tom and Alice’s chair… and the Christmas ornaments both survived!!!!!!! 😃😃😃😃

Even Leo was good in today’s episode. I was worried he was gonna ruin everything but the scenes of him learning the history of the Hortons and the ending narration with him were really nice. This is the first time I’ve actually liked him in years. Goes to show you what writing can do lol as obsessed as Ron is with him, I think we can add Greg Rikaart to the list of people that he owes an apology to.

Didn’t expect to see Lucas either but I’m glad that he was a part of today. As one of the few remaining Hortons on the canvas, he deserved to be there. Hopefully, we get some more visits as part of this storyline and that

      Reveal hidden contents

And I really enjoyed the flashbacks of young Tom and Alice, starting their family and moving into the house. They got the history of the Christmas ornaments wrong lol but all of those scenes were written and staged really well. The actress that played young Alice really stood out to me. Idk if she watched old episodes of Frances Reid or something but she really did seem to capture the spirit of Alice.

Just a great episode all around.

And I admit, I teared up when we found out that the Christmas ornaments survived. And when Doug and Julie sang ‘Always’ 😂😂😂

It’s tacky to put Marlena and Maggie in scenes together given that Rogers slept with Deidre’s ex-husband.
