  1. It's literally insane. Not one day of his presidency was normal. He was either throwing hurricane victims paper towels, banning Muslims or stoking division and hate. He succeeded in defeating Roe V Wade and packing the courts with far right wing nuts. He's weakened the very checks and balances that slowed him down last time.
  2. Yes, I can. We don't have time for bullshit. There are a lot of people in this country who are not afraid enough of another Trump presidency (I don't mean you Khan, I know you see it). He was just out there praising Xi for controlling a billion+ people with an iron fist.
  3. Sometimes you just have to grab the chance you get. We have no idea if she would have been the nominee in 2028. If Trump beat Biden we don't even know if there would be an election in 2028 for her to run in.
  4. He's not a convicted rapist. He has a civil judgement against him for rape. He should be a convicted rapist and pedophile as far as I'm concerned.
  5. This is the only answer. Maybe the possibility of having a black woman president will motivate people to come out and vote. Kamala beating Trump would be so satisfying.
  6. Yes. Pete Buttigieg was great in that clip. He's completely right about all of these Republicans who have sold out for personal ambition. Vance disgusts me. He knows exactly what Trump is and what he capable of. What a traitor to the American people.
  7. I sure don't. Right now I have no sense at all of the facts and I have no idea who to trust in public life or the media. I agree that it's morally wrong to replace the ticket the party base (obviously black women) voted for in the primary. The only reason it should be done is if Biden is unfit assuming we don't want to win at any cost that is. We could settle this with a medical exam, but I think the people in Biden's don't want to ask a question they don't already know the answer to. If they are sure he's fine, why wouldn't they simply prove it? Barring a medical exam, I'm not sure what or who to believe. The question is are we willing to do whatever it takes to win this time given the stakes. Is this the one time we should truly be ruthless as a party? Even if we were willing to get down in the mud to win I'm not sure anyone in charge is certain how to make that happen. Pelosi doesn't believe Biden can win and wants another chance to roll the dice, but that comes with an ugly price and an uncertain outcome.
  8. Thank God it was a poorly received speech. I never listen to him speak because I consider his words poisonous, but so many people are saying it was boring and awful.
  9. I've had this thought many times. He didn't have to run in 2020. He could have spent the last four years on Rehobeth Beach with his grandkids. Now here he is in 2024 trying to save us again. I really can't believe Pelosi and Schumer were so open with their opinions. They obvious allowed the news to leak in order to create more pressure.
  10. Yeah, the things this virus can do to people is wild. Then you have people who get it and it's nothing more than a cold or even asymptomatic. With any luck Biden will be one of those. We're lucky researchers were able to come up with a vaccine so quickly.
  11. I see Biden was Covid. I hope it's not a serious case.
  12. @ErrolI'm not the least bit confused between reel life and real life. I said what I meant and meant what I said. This being real life, wishes have no actual impact on reality. Of course, I won't post a similar sentiment in the future out of my respect for you and the rules.
  13. This CNN article is priceless. Vance going from saying Trump might be America's Hitler and is guilty of multiple instances of sexual assault to being his VP. The complete lack of integrity from the Republicans never ceases to amaze me. CNN — Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick Ohio Sen. JD Vance was once a fervent critic of the former president. In private messages, he wondered ahead of Trump’s election whether he was “America’s Hitler” and in 2017 said the then-president was a “moral disaster.” In public, he agreed Trump was a “total fraud” who didn’t care about regular people and called him “reprehensible.” “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical [!@#$%^&*] like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,” Vance wrote in a message to a friend in 2016. “How’s that for discouraging?” In 2016 and 2017, Vance, then best-known for penning the best-selling book “Hillbilly Elegy” said Trump was “cultural heroin” and “just another opioid” for Middle America. He told CNN ahead of the 2016 election that he was “definitely not” voting for Trump and he also contemplated voting for Hillary Clinton (he ultimately said he planned to vote for independent candidate Evan McMullin.) “Fellow Christians, everyone is watching us when we apologize for this man. Lord help us,” he tweeted after the “Access Hollywood” tape was published in 2016. https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/15/politics/kfile-jd-vance-comments-trump/index.html
  14. AOC is right in this case, but wasn't it some of her squad cronies who were calling for people to vote against Biden just a couple of months ago? JD Vance as VP. Just what we need, another politician who scorns the poor and is against a social safety net.
  15. I hear that. The first reports are always riddled with misinformation. I can't wait to hear how the SS let some sniper get the high ground, if that's really what happened. There might be a cursory discussion about gun control, but nothing will come of it. I already see Republicans saying this is why we need more guns.
  16. Yes, but I think one innocent man was killed and another woman shot in the arm.
  17. Yes, I was sorry to see someone else was killed. Now they are saying it was a sniper with a rifle from a couple hundred yards. That makes more sense.
  18. He's fine. He was grazed with a .22 supposedly. I want to know who the shooter was. Why a .22 of all weapons? Why didn't you spend more time at the range? So many questions.
  19. How disappointing.
  20. That was an incredibly unfortunate slip, along with saying V.P. Trump instead of Harris. These are the kind of mistakes make for good (meaning horrible) soundbites. I have slips of the tongue quite often as well and I feel pretty confident I don't have dementia, although on days like today I feel about ready for the Good Lord to take me. I agree with you that Biden doesn't deserve this. He is every good thing that Trump isn't. Of course he has done things I don't agree with during his life long career, but he is a good man.
  21. @DRW50Has there ever been a more self defeating group of people than the Democrats? The ability to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory stun me. We had a number of progressive congress people gleefully rallying against Biden well before the debate. Every single one of them should be primaried and sent packing. It also doesn't help that the Republicans are united by religion, hate and the love of money. The Josh Hawley comments are awful. They claim to love America, while going against the very ideals of the country. Not that we've ever lived up to those ideals as a society, but to see politicians flout them so openly is worrying.
  22. I wish celebrities would just step back on this one. It's not helpful for people in positions of power to speak out against their own at this stage of things. If Joe Biden stepped and Harris ran I honestly don't know what would happen. There was a time people didn't think Obama could win, but he did. I would say 2024 America is a more hateful country towards non whites and women, but I believe we could still win if people would just vote. I have to laugh at people who say the Islamist are coming to put us all under Sharia. Meanwhile the White Christians Nationalists are trying to bring us all into a theocracy and they have a real chance of making it happen. Not say say disinformation and meddling from Iran isn't dangerous by any means.
  23. Me too. I believe he did it and I'm pretty sure it's not my bias talking. The testimony in the court transcripts sounded truthful to me. There was a lot of detail. Plus we know he has a thing for young girls and that he went to that hellhole of an island more than once. He's really a disgusting bastard who lacks a soul, but he was right when said he can do anything and his followers don't care. Sadly, I believe Bill Gates is guilty as well. I wonder how people justify this type of predatory behavior to themselves? Those girls were practically babies. I didn't even know about Project 2025 until recently.
  24. Yeah, of course Russia and China are at it again this election cycle. The internet has sadly become a great weapon for for influence in many political matters. I don't see how it can be stopped without a huge loss of privacy.
