Y&R: March 2026 Discussion Thread
Well, you've put it out there. I really haven't been tracking who from any of the soaps pays attention to this and other discussion boards. And I realize that some soaps that are complained about on the boards have high ratings and/or see increases in their ratings. Despite this, I think soap folks reading and considering comments on these boards is a win-win situation for them--I think the only investment needed is a little bit of time, and the shows and ultimately the viewers could benefit. Yes, I realize maybe very little attention is paid to these types of posts, but they don't seem to hurt anything either.

Liberty City, I totally agree with your post. In fact, you've been able to articulate most of why I can be so dissatisfied with Y&R but, at the same time, have absolutely no plans to stop watching. The concepts are there like you said, and for me, they're rooted in past years of the show that I've watched on and off (starting in the mid-1970s, when I was in college; but taking breaks when my jobs didn't permit me to watch). But like you also said, Josh needs to "sculpt" his ideas, which I'm taking as "flesh them out" and, most important, needs to add the "emotional stakes" that underlie them, as well as what I think is a natural outgrowth, i.e., those "emotional stakes" that become associated with those ideas. 7

The line from yesterday's show that made me laugh the most was Phyllis' "I'm the one sitting behind this desk in this office," implying that she's doing some sort of work. Then maybe "the secret" is now revealed to non-denizens of Genoa City--maybe, unlike companies in the rest of the world, the GC companies run themselves, allowing each company's CEO to take credit for leading the company and requisite financial compensation, all without lifting a finger. Maybe that's why all the Genoa City folks continually fight over those companies???

BTG: January 2026 Discussion Thread
I'm really hoping the show will suggest/explore the reason(s) for this turn of events from Dani's POV. It popped into my head that it could have some relation to her positive BRCA results. Although I'll concede my imagination might be overactive on the "BRCA results" point, if there's no exploration at all, I'd totally agree with what Taoboi said.

OK, the material in my post re an upcoming cast change is removed. Hopefully, minimal people, or even nobody, saw it. (And should you remove the character name from your post?) Sorry about that!😒

There was mention of Matt Clark's "death" at some point in Sharon's and Nick's conversation shortly after Sharon saw Clark. I don't happen to have the exact time it came up, but I can look for it later today... OK, I just looked at the November 3rd episode, and actually when Sharon runs into Clark, she says, "...How can it be?...This is impossible. Matt, you're dead." The time interval is 2:47 to 3:02. I didn't rewatch any more of the episode, so I can't say whether Sharon and Nick talked about Clark being dead. But my point is actually that the writers had someone mention the Matt Clark death. That said, Paul, I do agree with everything else you said--the writers are very much mishandling Matt, or Mitch, or Todd, or whoever he is.

Naomi wasn't the only one with pregnancy test results. A few minutes before Naomi's "reveal," Haley had a negative test. It made me almost feel like Haley tests herself every day. Although I liked the juxtaposition of Naomi's test "right after" Haley's, I hope Haley doesn't take any more tests for a while--those tests almost make me feel like I'm watching B&B. I think it's time for Haley and Bill to split for a while.
