Mathison is still the worst. He gave absolutely nothing to the story except awful. Teen Child Actors pulling their weight and conveying proper emotions he can't touch. Never can do anything but shirtless and sleazy to the detriment of the talented actresses trapped with him. PornHub Drew did his job to make Willow and Michael less boring so now it's time for him to go away.

Sigh. This thread is so tedious month after month. I stop in to read show discussion here and there to see the same thing every week. MB this. MB that. Constant slander of the man. Fake rumors pushed as solid facts. It's exhausting. It's overkill. Not to mention pot meet kettle. Few of you leading the charge on MB were complaining about Twitter doing the same to LW every hour of every day. Blaming her for everything wrong with GH like she runs ABC. How about this? Blame FV. If MB has all this power as some of you claim He would gotten to keep the salt and pepper look instead of black shoe polish. He would've gotten to keep the maturity of his character over going back to a monster. Sonny wouldn't have been manic for six months when they "know" it's a real life strain on MB's mind to play it that long. Sonny wouldn't have been written like a old weak gramps at the Nursing Home that Michael had to "tell" him what to do after he killed Jagger like it was his first murder. Sonny and Carly wouldn't be on the verge of Marriage #6. Sonny and Nina's marriage would've lasted longer than two months. MB and CW would've been allowed to play "one" beat of that divorce instead of waiting "five" months for a scene. They kept them apart on purpose until their fans (+SOD) kept pushing for them to interact to say goodbye. Sonny wouldn't be trapped with a Homophobe of all things when he accepted Kristina. Sonny wouldn't have been made to say "No big deal" at the hateful way she treated Kristina. Natalia has nuclear hate on the three social accounts and is (arguably) the worst creation of the FV regime. Peter was less hated than her. He served a purpose as a villain. She has none. She doesn't fit. She should go. FV wants ELR. He is forcing her on a GH legend (MB) to lock up airtime for her. He always does this with his "names" from AMC/OLTL. MB wasn't pushing for ELR to be his leading lady when he clearly wanted to stay with CW. SB can happily come take on a Jason and Natalia romance if he's not being catered to enough BTS after leaving twice in a decade. Fav Lexi Ainsworth wouldn't have been fired twice. Bestie Real Andrews wouldn't be ignored for over a year. It's laughable how much FV is going against MB but keep telling yourself he runs GH when they were gonna Temp Recast Sonny if he didn't cut short his mental health leave.

GH is back to being entertaining again with the first two weeks of EK and CVE. Finally saw a ratings spike cause stuff is actually happening. Cliffhangers have returned to push fans to watch the next day. Here's the boost of energy that was lacking from PM's boring conversations era. Not forcing a ton of jarring changes at the drop of a hat. They got right to delivering on drama over needless tinkering with every nook and cranny. It's soapy again. We got stakes. Dialogue hospital is over.

Good to be finished with Patrick Mulcahey's boring archaic writing. He never left the Mid 80's and the 300,000 viewers lost in his first 2 months proved he wasn't connecting with fans. Sally Sussman at Y&R all over again was this awful hire. Ron, Jelly, and Chris/Dan spiked the ratings in their early months. They didn't try to force change for the sake of change overnight to that many characters. Some folks are only meant to be staff writers. You can tell there is a return to drama in the last three weeks with Korte stepping it up to bring back stakes cause it feels like a soap again. Give me a reason to tune back in the next day with her bringing back entertaining cliffhangers over his dialogue conversation snoozers. I expect this board will no longer praise every facet of the show since the record low "genius" is no longer stuffing the hour with snail paced filler. Every story and character will be terrible or useless again from August 7th onward. Bad acting will be Bad acting again without the magic of his scripts. Best of luck to the Korte and Van Etten. I look forward to seeing important faces again like Lucky, Lulu, and Ric and less of the irrelevant ones like Drew and Blaze.

MB has said for years it takes too much out of him to play manic for too long when he deals with it in life. Guza and Carlivati showed respect for his mental health not having Sonny go through it except in short spurts for drama. Not for five months to toss stakes on stories as they try to find logic for Ava's dark turn and longevity for Valentin's exit style writing. Korte is moving this to the end from the casting news (IMO: Morgan coming to Sonny in a dream) and start the tossing of Mulcahey's stories into the lake. Sonny off his meds is to GH as Brooke's sex scandals are to B&B. MB and KKL don't want it. Lovers or Haters of Sonny and Brooke don't want it. Jean, Shelley, Chris, and Dan never touched it for eight years except for a few days Port Charles Time to start off 22. We had finally moved on from this for the better of the show recycling this plot, to the character growth he had for six years from Mike's dementia to the Nina divorce, and the actor no longer having to play bat ssshhiitt crazy into his 60's. Enter Mulcahey. Career changes. Shifts in personality. Retcons of history to about a half dozen who act like they didn't know what mobsters did for a living. Reverting the rest back to their worse. Ratings crash in two months in ways they never did from those he replaced in four years. Show is more boring than ever in the shift from drama to dialouge as the top priority. Sonny is off his meds in his second week on the job to take him back to a monster. Korte has been there for 30 years. I doubt she would let this go on for 5 months out of respect for one of the soaps icons psyche. Sonny is walking around out of his mind to raise hell for nothing. Most offensive thing he has done was making him sympathize with bigotry to the daughter he accepted when she came out to him. Out of character writing if there ever was to attach Natty to Sonny to secure ELR's place on a cast of 200.

But it wasn't him being a mobster or his business that lead to his son's death. Sonny could've been a 9 to 5 factory worker and Morgan would still be dead. They have a laundry list on Michael that is fact to use instead of always going to Morgan to jab at Carly that is fiction. He wasn't being targeted for who his father was and is dead cause he stole a car rigged to explode. He was the collateral damage of a mob sibling fued. If Ava had not sent Morgan on a breakdown from replacing his meds with fakes, he wouldn't have stolen the car. He was on foot and out of his mind. Ava wasn't going after Sonny. She was trying to show Kiki he was "nuts" so she would break up with him. Morgan was doing fine until Ava ruined him. ETA: It is terrible writing to have Kristina blame Ava for Morgan's death only a month ago (Scenes with Nina at Crimson) and have Sam throwing it in Carly's face a month later. Which is it? Ava's fault? Sonny's fault? They go back and forth too much with this topic. Olivia was targeting Julian for revenge over leaving her for dead 25 years ago (long lasting injuries) and for ordering the hit that killed her true love Duke. She wanted payback on him for those two things more than a battle for Sonny's mob territory. Julian wasn't doing much other than baiting Sonny in public to piss him off on her command. He didn't go after him in shipments or shootings. Neither did she. Anna was more of her target than Sonny. Her ultimate plan was to kidnap Griffin and use the GH underground lab to bring back Duke. All in all her return wasn't about a war on Sonny. It was a crazy lady out to torture her brother and went after Alexis, Sam, and Lucas.

The only rewrite is Joss last year and Sam this year bringing up Morgan to point the finger at Sonny and throwing that shot at Carly. Jax pushed this same lie in 21 when he blew up at Carly/Jason for Joey Novak harassing Joss at Kelly's. If Jax, Joss, and Sam want to make this point to Carly, it's best to go to the trauma Michael went through. Morgan was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Morgan's demise and death is 100% on Sam's bio father and two aunts. There was no rewrites to the original story. It was always open ended about who set the bomb. Sonny went to church to talk to Griffin after ordering the hit on Julian. He didn't have an enforcer at the time and took out a contract from former associates. Griffin convinced Sonny to call it off in time. Sonny did cancel the contract on Julian. He thought he killed Morgan. There were teases to someone named Oscar Jessup "before" the bombing (who turned out to be Olivia Jerome) and this person was threatening Julian by phone to mess with Sonny. It just took them time for BM's Jason and Curtis to investigate the bombing.

He is a 67 year old man. He's been retired for 5 years. He's been a script writer for his entire career. You have a show with no energy or momentum to hope to pull out of this rut of boredom. He wasn't fixing things. He was giving us filler nonstop. It is mark of a script writer. Ratings sunk like a rock on his watch week to week and year over year that is too alarming to ignore. Fans spoke in droves with their remotes about his vision.

Liz 100%. Herbst will be brought back again once the backlash forces the network to act. Nina, Ava, Anna and Laura have been onscreen more than enough since the change and have ongoing stories to rule them out. Liz has neither going on and nothing on that horizon. Trina will be kept around for the young set.

1.875,000 mil Down for the 5th straight week and 4th straight week under 2 million. Down in the year over year to the tune of 300,000 from May Sweeps 2023 for the second straight week. Is it time to see it takes more than sparkling dialogue to cut the mustard? They were staff writers for a reason that have little to no pedigree of head writers. You can tell from the lack of any soapy drama in 2 1/2 months and majority of time put into yawning filler conversations. Stories move ratings. So does action. Not dialogue. They are needlessly tinkering for the sake of it to mix and match like there is no urgency to entertain. All of their episodes end in the most forgettable uneventful way. And entirely too much of Cameron Mathison day to day which says it all about this huge misfire to reach lapsed viewers if you are banking this hard on "Drew".

Can we move on from 1994? I would've rather seen AH as a Jax recast to work up modern day beef with Sonny than Karen this or Stone that for the whole year. It's obvious Jagger's only claim to fame was saving Karen from Sonny so it's beaten into the ground cause it's his lone purpose for returning after 30 years. Scott has brought this up on and off for 20 years about Karen for those saying it is finally being revisited. Nah. It's been covered and covered by Scott a lot. Sonny isn't still pushing drugs or running a strip club. Give them something new to beef over if this hatred is moving to the forefront. Dex can turn out to be his son or something.

They have one scene a week that lasts five seconds since the reveal at the club. Nina tries to talk to him. Sonny says leave me alone. You can't get a read on him other than he was jealous to see Nina and Valentin sharing a drink at Charlie's. Ava brought up his reaction on the island. Sonny said the topic is off limits. Is he still wearing his ring? He backed off on divorce talk to Diane when she said "Let me get started on it" and asked Michael if he would turn on him again if he went back to her. I have no idea what the show is going for since 95% of his scenes are mob related in new year. Nina might get shot to force Sonny to her side (or vice versa) or this Michael and Dex secret will show him her lies weren't so bad.

Do Brenda fans really want her back in the FV era to be ruined at the altar of Carly? Soapy Carly is long gone. Saint Carly is propped to the heavens and will be written as superior to Brenda just like Nina and Ava. They never win an argument over her and are forced to beg her for help at times. VM is smart enough to not return to GH for LW to run roughshod over her like the rest of her female co-stars. Carly dominates the other women under FV as the queen bee alpha female presence. Writing is skewed beyond belief since 16-17 to make Carly as bulletproof as possible in every story. Everyone kisses her ass. Nobody calls her out. Brenda will be made subservient to Carly in this era just like Nina and Ava. You get along with her or get run over.

I like Nina and Sonny. MB's best couple since Brenda's last return in 10-11 and Kate in 07-08. I am not saying they have a potent chemistry, but it's better than his previous couples. Claire, Olivia, KS's Kate, and LW's Carly were no romantic chemistry zone. MB and CW work well together playing romance than what they had prior to this with LW and IR. There is a warmth and affection that makes me enjoy Sonny and Nina. That's it. They are okay. Decent chemistry. If it's Nina or Carly or Bust, I want Sonny with Nina. She made him likeable and rational to me instead of stuck in same old patterns. But the problem is as another poster said these writers REALLY wants us to hate Nina and love Carly like it's personal to them. You get the feeling there is a score to settle that MB gives more to CW than LW so they getting even with him. You want a new leading lady? Okay. But we are going to tank her. Enjoy.

Ava lost her value when they made her a victim. Ryan tormenting her on and off for five years. Griffin cheating on her with Kiki. Kiki's dead body shown to her on the slab. Nik making her think she was going crazy when she checked herself into Shadybrook. The stalker storyline when Esme and Spencer were harassing her so much she sent Avery to live with Carly for protection. Nik cheating on her by knocking up Esme. Heather nearly stabbing her to death. Ryan breaking out to abduct her one last time. Mason blackmailing her. Austin lying to her. It never stops. Ava has run her course. She could be written off tomorrow with no impact to the canvas. Avery is her only connection since Kiki and Julian were killed off. She will continue to be raised by Sonny and Carly (in separate homes) like it was for the majority of that child's life. There is nothing left other than putting her back with Nik and raising Ace as their son when Esme is in a coffin or prison. Not exactly going to fix the fact Ava has been FAR too watered down for six years straight.

Maxie needs a love life again. I would recommend Portia's brother, Zeke. He had a one nighter with Jordan in June that was just a backdrop to realize she had unresolved feelings for Curtis. He hasn't been on ever since. Sasha, Brooke Lynn, and Lucy getting her ready for a night on the town might be nice. KS can't turn down a romantic story. It will be coming at some point. They will have to come up with something in hair, makeup, and wardrobe to make her look better. Zeke and Maxie might be hot in the bedroom. Both are single. Close in age. There is nobody else for her. They can make it a modern day Brad Carlton and Tracy Abbott love story. It worked out well on Y&R.

If this soap wins anything in design or wardrobe it has to be from submitting pics of Watros. She looks like a million bucks in what she is wearing and fits her smoking body to perfection. It looks much more pricey and fancy than the rest.

Nina comes first to Sonny as Carly, Michael, and Joss have been saying for a year and half. He wanted to be there for her cause she is worried about her BFF Curtis. They came together at the hospital so it made sense for him to be there. There was a little small talk with Marshall about the shooter. Alexis sent him a text that she needs to see him about Kristina. Nina told him to go even though Sonny offered to stay until they got a update.

He didn't seem to care about Carly and Jason except when she kept bitching at him for having feelings for another woman. Sonny turned it back on her a few times that he isn't the only one trying to fall out of love with someone so stop coming at him like her heart isn't torn just like his. I saw a man that was no longer in love with his wife. He was going to stick it out in that marriage cause it was best for the family and business but he seemed to be completely tired of her foaming at the mouth. Carly wanted revenge on Nina. Sonny didn't. She needed him to hate Nina. He didn't. Just the opposite in fact then and now. They were finished cause of these two things. Everything else was the two of them delaying the divorce. Carly would've seen it every time Nina was around that Sonny isn't over her. If Nina got back together with Valentin or Jax, he wouldn't have left it alone. He would've reacted to it and confronted them about it. Carly would've done the same thing if Jason had been around and tried to restart something with Britt.

Caroline, As a Brenda fan, I am curious if you like Current Sonny. Majority still do on the socials and still long for a reunion.

If Brenda were to make a full-time return with Vanessa signing a two year contract, I am curious if you would want the reunion with Sonny or try something fresh like Finn or Austin.

BLQ is at her best in scenes with Sonny for some reason. I don't know what it is when they run into each other but I find them both adorable to watch together. You could say they light up like a Christmas Tree when they cross paths around town. BLQ is so charming and endearing with Sonny. Same for Mike Corbin in 2020. AS's best scenes were with MG's Mike when she was feeding him spaghetti in one of BLQ's many visits. She was so warm and loving to him.
