The Moon's too and the reintroduction of the Watts family if you count them. Damn, no wonder her tenure was such a mess and so inconsistent. I don't think any producer has brought in that many families on the show.

Every producer seems to bring in a new family, so I think we'll be getting one sooner or later. John Yorke brought in the Slater's. Louise Berrdige brought in the Ferreira's. Kate Harwood brought in the new Branning's. Diederick Santer brought in the Masood's. The question is, what kind of family will Kirkwood bring in?

Apparently, Billie and Whitney are breaking up soon. Hopefully, it's for good, and maybe they can reintroduce Todd again? Can't Billie just die in war?

It looks like Carol will be heavily invoked this month, she's mentioned a lot in August spoilers. I think Lindsey Coulson would re-new her contract if they offered her more to do, which seems likely now. I think Kirkwood said he was a Carol fan, so I guess he may have some plans for her. A male equivalent to the Slater family? I would like that actually. The Masood's are pretty much a big success, but I don't know any new family has been successfully introduced on any soap since the Slater's. I would hope if they try that formula with brothers, they'd look at what made the Slater's so successful a decade ago.

Sharon said in 2004 after her relationship with Dennis came out that she thought it was what she wanted, living in the Vic again, but she was wrong. She realized that it was filled with nothing but bad memories for her, from Den and Angie's marriage, to her tumultuous marriage with Grant and relationship with the Mitchells, and to the then return of Den. It was also part of the reason why she sold her shares of The Vic in 2002 back to the Mitchell's. I think Sharon really came alive as a character during her second return, which was brilliant overall regardless, when she moved away from the Vic and the Mitchell orbit. She was really good at Angie's Den (which is now R&R). Maybe Roxy and Ronnie can put it for sale and Sharon can anonymously buy it again like she did with the Vic in 2001. Nigel Harman wanted them to kill off Dennis, so I don't think he ever wanted to return. He recently said he thought it was a "great story decision." This is what he said in an interview: http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/stage/theatre/article3977519.ece

But I would assume they'd need more of an explanation if she takes a 6 month maternity leave like Jo Joyner.

Patsy Palmer is pregnant... http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/showbiz/895205/EastEnders-star-Patsy-Palmer-is-pregnant-with-her-fourth-child.html I really hope they don't write this into the show. The last thing Bianca needs is another kid. Though, I wonder how they'll write Bianca out while Patsy is on maternity leave...

Who phased out the DeMarco's, Matthew Robinson or John Yorke? By 2000, all of them were gone, except Beppe who lingered on until 2002.

Joe Absolom was a great actor too, much better than Martin Kemp's hammy ass. and whose heart didn't break when Steve got off for murder and manslaughter, while Matthew was sent away for manslaughter? http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/scoop/a253027/janine-kisses-stacey-fiz-fumes-quirke-in-edale.html And Janine will be kissing Stacey to piss her off later this month after they argue in the street about the Ryan/Stacey kissing fiasco... I think they're setting up Stacey or someone revealing that Lily is Ryan's daughter, which is sure to implode Janine and Ryan's relationship, and it has to be done before Stacey leaves... Some other spoilers have hinted that Janine will go back to her darker ways, and Charlie Brooks has the trashy bleached-blond hair again, which Janine had in her golden years as a character on the show.

They really did look like they always wanted to tongue each other. I remember thinking Joe Absolom was the cutest thing back then... And I'll never forget that when Steve died, Matthew sent flowers with a note that read, "I hope your burn in hell" or something to that effect.

Unless they show a trial, he'll never return, which is for the best. There's no more mileage they could get out of that character, IMO.

Yeah, I just watched Revealed special about Lucas. I love how all the crew clapped after Don finished his last scene and after Bryan said a few words about him. It was rather well-done overall, especially how they highlighted all the murders and villains who have murdered on the show. I didn't know Janine pushing Barry off the cliff was the most watched murder episode in the show's history. It was hilarious that Charlie Brooks couldn't recall Janine's slip-on shoes comment.

Today's episode: I thought today was very enjoyable, and the aftermath of the Lucas stuff was handled well. It was nice to see Zainab involved with the Foxes, and not fussing over Syed for once. I thought the hospital scenes with Denise and her family were very good. The scene where Max eased Stacey into taking Lily out for the first time were nice too. If Stacey weren't leaving, I would think they're setting up Stax to become a legitimate couple this time around. Dot and Fatboy are strangely highly entertaining together. I don;t know what it is, but I've come to enjoy Fatboy, and teaming him with Dot has been brilliant for both characters. Jodie, Darren, and Zsa Zsa were filler, but it was funny in some instances. Again, it's hilarious to see just how secondary Zsa Zsa is these days. Phil: When he [ben] comes out of there, we won't recognize him! I took that as a wink to the audience about Ben being recast. Poor Ben being slaughtered in prison, though. I also enjoyed Pat and Roxy interacting, and at east they explained Roxy's disgust over Archie being the reason why she wants to sell the Vic.

That repeat number is very impressive given that the original airing got about a 41% share. Tonight is Charlie Jones's last episode as Ben.

The funny thing is, I think she may be the best actor out of all of the Costello's thus far...

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Today's episode: The Lucas stuff was low key and wasn't a huge sensational event, which I kind of liked actually. I think a lot of people probably expected Lucas to commit suicide or kill Chelsea or Libby (since both are leaving soon), but I'm glad it wasn't any of that and it would've been much more predictable. The kid playing Jordan is a bad actor, but I thought everyone else in those scenes were good, and the final scenes between Lucas and Jordan were where we really got inside Lucas's head a bit. Though, I don't know if this episode translated as well on-screen as they would have liked, it did kind of feel disjointed. They could have also spent a little more time on the Foxes and less on the rounders and such. Santer would have probably made the Lucas stuff a big event and 90% of the episode, but I don't know if it really needed it, especially after the way he dragged most of the story out. I'm kind of glad it's all out in the open now and didn't involve some final shock tactic like suicide or another murder done by Lucas. In a way, I can see how many would be disappointed since they probably expected some huge event, but the show went in a much more low-key and community based direction. I really enjoyed the game of rounders, it involved a lot of people you wouldn't normally expect to see together. I think stuff like that added to the community feel of the show, and it was nice that they tied the Lucas stuff in with it at the end.

The Loretta stuff just seemed rush, I didn't understand the point of her taking Nancy hostage. It seemed like they were just dying to get rid of her and couldn't do it fast enough. The Nancy and Jake conversation at the hospital was the best part of it all I thought. The Costello's seem very one-note and forced so far, but I think the actress playing Mitzeee is actually quite good and better than most, if not all of the actors in that family so far. The Costello's just seemed forced and pushed onto the show at the moment, they should have gradually faded them in and have them interact better with the established characters on the show. As of right now, we have no reason to care for them. Michaela seems like a non-entity these days, she doesn't seem to have any purpose or interact much with her family anymore. She's there, but it doesn't really feel like she's there most times.

Kirkwood didn't like the way Santer introduced the original E20 group, so I think he's either hesitant or doesn't want to introduce the new group to the main show. I guess if one or two of them prove to be popular, they'll make it onto the main show at some point.
