I don't remember seeing the kitchen much if at all in the beginning stuff I've seen. That kitchen looks sooo 1960's. It needs a makeover. I heard the show got a 41% share last night, their highest since July 29th, but less people tuned into television as a whole last night, so they ended up winning the night with only 8.5 million viewers. The BBC3 repeat had over a million viewers though. I think less would tune in tonight, since it's Friday but who knows. The weather is still good and people have things to do. But it is Peggy's final episode, so who knows.

Ellie at Walford Web said Kat wasn't going to like Roxy. I called that months ago, I just couldn't see the two of them getting on. I also heard that the new Vic set is going to be a little bigger with a more detailed kitchen.

EastEnders always has the best trailers of the soaps. I thought it was hilarious and fun, if a little cheesy in some parts. I loved all the reactions too. Great trailer. And Kat's leopard bag and makeup compact - soooo Kat!

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I think so far, Kirkwood seems to have a greater appreciation for the older characters on the show than Santer did. Dot seems to have come alive again, Patick had some of his best scenes in years with the Lucas stuff, Peggy has been true to character, and Pat has been used a lot more and more incorporated in Janine's life and the community again. I'm sure if he could use Jim more and John Bardon's health was better, he would. Kat/Pat is interesting. From what we know of Pat's backstory, she seemed like she was also a tart with a heart in her younger years. Actually, I think Pat also sees a lot of her younger self in Janine, she may not be as heartless as Janine can be, but I think they've had some major parallels. I always thought an explosive story for Pat, the Butcher's, and Wick's would be if Janine and David had a torrid affair and fell in love. Maybe David could tame Janine, it would be a bit like Ross and Blake. We also know Janine has no problems being with older men. Could you imagine the reactions from Pat, Bianca, Carol, and Ricky?

I wonder what plans they have for Pat when Peggy's gone and the stuff with Janine settles down. What would you like see be done with her?

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Today's episode: I thought it was fantastically gripping from start to finish. Much better than that overrated sh!t of a Live episode. Lacey Turner and Steve McFadden were both fantastic. I don't think it even mattered that no one died, not even Peggy. The real loss was the Vic, which is a character in itself on the show, and the thing Peggy probably loves as much as her faaaamily. Realistic reaction from Zainab as well, given that she supposedly went through a bad fire years ago. Poor Stacey getting slapped by Pat and then being trapped with Lily upstairs. I kind of thought Phil would die when the roof collapsed on him... Glad to see Janine shouting, "Where's Pat!??!" I thought the scenes with Ryan rescuing Lily and Stacey were heartwarming, and then when they were all on the street, Stacey tells him "She's your's ....she's your daughter." and Ryan froze was well done. It was nice that you also got to see everyone's reactions, even people who didn't go to Janine and Ryan's reception. You had people like Ian, Patrick, Denise, and Carol running out of their houses to see what was going on and to witness the centerpiece of Albert Square - The Vic burn to the ground. I'm surprised Peggy didn't run back in to get her precious Queen Victoria bust. They also dropped hints about Ronnie's pregnancy in this episode. Like Roxy yelling to her to help, and Ronnie said rubbing her stomach, "I can't!" Oh, and drunk Dot was hilarious, especially when she was dancing around. Anyway, this episode just flew by, and was very entertaining and well-written from start to finish. I know it's a special/stunt episode, but I thought it was rather well executed, acted, directed, and written.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I've never liked the actress that plays Holly. She's wooden, her voice/accent annoys the piss out of me, and she often gets into a mode where she yells all her lines. I think I remember saying that a few months ago, to which Amello got mad and defended her. And I don't like Pauline Quirke on this show. It seems like they just hired her to play her character from Birds of a Feather. While that's fine since she is known for that role, I don't see anything that really separates the parts.

Apparently, some are saying that BBC One aired a trailer for the Vic fire that will be starting on Thursday, but I guess it hasn't been posted online yet. EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I thought today's episode was really well-done overall and set the tone for the more explosive (both literally and figuratively) episodes to come later in the week. Great acting from Lacey Turner, Charlie Brooks, and Steve McFadden in this episode. The stuff with Janine was great, especially when she broke down with Ryan telling him how she's afraid to be abandoned like what her father Frank did to her, and how she isn't sure if she can love Ryan they way he wants her to. Even sough they ultimately got married, I do think their marriage is doomed regardless. Poor Pat looked like a Muppet. But that is something she would wear, I guess. The stuff with Stacey and Max was also quite gripping. Even though she's off her meds, her guilt is killing her inside. I loved those scenes with Max where she was telling him about how sick she is with the lies and guilt. The scenes with Jean inside the Slater living room were also nice. The Phil stuff is really disturbing to look at, as it should be. In one scene we got to see the snot dripping from his nose onto his mouth, eww. I'm glad Shirley rejected Phil's ass though and didn't come rescue him. It was a good directing choice to have Stacey look at the Queen Victoria bust that she killed Archie with before she went upstairs and looked at the picture with Archie and Peggy. And that was a great cliffhanger to have Stacey confess to murdering Archie to Peggy at the end, it sets up things nicely for Peggy's exit. Aw, one or two more episodes with Barbara Windsor left. Peggy can be a pain in the ass, and she was a few times in today's episode, but the character iconic and Barbara has a great flamboyant presence to her that few have and can pull off.

Today's episode: I thought it was really well done and fun overall. Naked Ryan and the shot of his nice bare ass at the end. Janine's hen party was hilarious, and especially how no one wanted to be there, and all they did was crap on her. But she of course bit back, which I was happy to see. I loved her exchange with Peggy, and then when she went off on Denise, Heather, and Shirley. At least Kim likes Janine, even if she thinks her name is "Janice!" LOL! I loved when Ronnie called Bianca's million children her "litter." Sam/Daniella Westbrook looked very pretty in this episode. I enjoyed all the Pat and Janine scenes, even when Pat was angry with her behaviour at the end. It's nice that Pat admitted earlier in the episode that Janine is the closest she'll ever come to having a daughter. The scenes with Dot and Peggy towards the end were well-done too. Big Mo is back to the haircut she had when she first came on the show a decade ago. Stacey just blurting out to Dot that Bradley isn't Lily's father is surely an effects of her not taking her medication. Still, it was nice to see Stacey smile when she was watching Ryan and Ricky make fools of themselves. Dot's reaction to all that was hilarious too. I'm not surprised Janine went off with that older bloke towards the end, given the way she felt at her own party, and who really thinks her marriage to Ryan will last anyway? The stuff with Phil being locked in the room at the end was done with a lot of humour and drama at the same time. I loved Sam and Roxy with their bats.
