  3. Someone sent me this link-- looks like Roscoe Born (Joe #2) has some songs on iTunes. I don't do the iTunes thing but I guess this is a good way for him to get his music out there. He has had some videos of him singing on Youtube before-- https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/let-the-road-lead/id1200140704
  4. Thanks, Carl. I remember that seeing that one back then Not sure if this has been on YouTube before. Edit-- Yes, this promo has been on YT already
  5. John Gabriel (Seneca) and Mary Tyler Moore on The Mary Tyler Moore Show -- November 30, 1974 Peter Haskell (Hollis) and Mary Tyler Moore on The Mary Tyler Moore Show -- September 23, 1972
  6. Haven't watched the entire episodes yet -- just Nancy's scenes so far—great to see her again. Thanks! I don't know how accurate this is --a Los Angeles Time article (dated December 26, 1993) said Nancy's first appearance was December 13, 1993.
  7. It was interesting to hear Helen say she was known to ad-lib. Kate Mulgrew used to say that they didn't ad-lib on this show because the writers' dialogue was so good they wouldn't dare alter it Also wonder if the extremely emotional day that was taped the day before were the Mary dying scenes.
  8. AM New York on the set of Ryan's Hope in 1979 -- around the time they were taping Joe and Siobhan's wedding
  9. Harve Presnell (Matthew Crane on RH) and Debbie Reynold's in the 1964 film The Unsinkable Molly Brown Harve played Delia's (Robin Mattson) 4th husband in 1984
  10. Yes, she deserved one. SPOILER SPACE for Days22 And how she wasn't even nominated for a 1980 emmy for the drug addiction storyline (although some articles mistakenly claim her 1979 nomination was for that --but it wouldn't have fit the time line to qualify for that in 1979 because Jill didn't even take her first pill until March 6)
  11. It sounded like the only male name Merv said was James somebody -- he did look similar to Daniel Davis, though. Thanks for all the videos you've just shared.
  12. That would have been a good idea. They must have really felt no one would ever find out about Bernard Barrow's additional money. Faith Catlin last appeared in May (1976) however they did not change the opening until November (1976). Faith Catlin's picnic opening scenes were seen through all of Nancy Barrett's run and (approx) the first 7 weeks of Catherine Hicks' run. Since neither Nancy or Catherine received “the role of Faith Coleridge is now being played by...” voice-over introduction – and also Faith Catlin still in the opening -- I wonder if some of the viewers expected her to return to the role any day. It wasn't until the Michael Hawkins' (Frank #1) final episode (the following episode Andrew Robinson** took over) that the show returned to the original opening* with only Johnny, Maeve, and Little John twirling around in the park. *The opening with the picnic scenes began around episode #20. **Andrew Robinson received the first VO intro.
  13. The story posted at the old Soapnet forum was that Bernard Barrow (Johnny) had it put in one of his contract renewals that he got paid every time the opening with him aired -- so even if he wasn’t in an episode - - he still made some money. This was kept a secret from his fellow cast members-- then Helen Gallagher (Maeve) found out about it and demanded the same deal. That was why they went for the opening without any RH actors – to get out of having to pay them any extra money. Posters then speculated that by the time the contracts came up for renewal again the show had added a clause in the standard contracts that said appearances in the opening were part of an actors' regular salary and they would not receive any extra payment for it.
  14. January 1981 Here is a November 2016 photo of Senior Associate Rector Reverend Ann (on the far right --in red)
  15. Someone is selling an IK Delia dress for $60 on Ebay. Looks like the tag said it was from 7/88 and a size 6 http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-1988-Kathryn-Dianos-Black-Cocktail-Dress-Size-6-WORN-ON-RYANS-HOPE-DELIA-/252686384419?hash=item3ad5483d23:g:tg4AAOSw5cNYLh-Q
  16. Sarah Felder's (Siobahn #1) last appearance
  17. Yes, you are right --this newspaper clipping was from late spring or early summer of 1980. Sarah''s last appearance was in early July of 1980 but probably taped in early in mid-June of 1980. Thanks! Turns out the clipping was from May 1980.
  18. I thought 1981 was good ratings wise for RH -- that was why this newspaper column that said the show was having ratings trouble surprised me. I don't have the exact date of this but I think it would mean they were having rating problems in the spring of 1981. Of course they were wrong about a new Siobhan coming on right after Sarah left - - so maybe they were wrong about the ratings, too. ]
  19. Probably. Weren't all of ABC's soap opera's ratings on the rise at that point and the whole line-up benefited from General Hospital's increased popularity? Sarah was great!
  20. Carl, here is the episode -- Before Pat and Nancy left town, I thought they were going to move Faith into a Faith/Pat/Nancy triangle after she became a widow.
  21. Also another one was Tom Desmond -- a few months before Mary.
  22. That might explain why they decided to write another story where Faith was in danger for months --- and once again held captive -- and also having Tom and Teresa repeat Kenneth Castle's lines about Faith being “wicked “ and needed to be “punished”
  23. That was nice. Thanks! The part where Claire said she would lay down on the bathroom floor to wake herself up when she was so tired was what they had Pat do when he was so exhausted from being overworked and keeping up with Delia's demands for attention.
  24. That is what I thought, too.
