  1. I'm all for Team Janine! She's misunderstood and wants to be loved. It meant a lot to take in Ryan and now he's off shaggin' Stacey. What is the appeal of Stacey? I liked her when she was with Bradley and after the Archie plot but now she's being put on a high arch (no pun intended).

  2. Where is this woman now? She is in her fifties and nowhere to be found. Not even doing, I don't know, primetime or theatre or something... Y&RWorlTurner told me that her stints on Santa Barbara and OLTL weren't well regarded, but that the fault really isn't hers.

It is difficult to assess her, she only had one successful stint (GL), but I think she is miles better than some hacks still around (Passanante, for example).

You know I was thinking the same thing the other day. I could only hope that GL would scoop her up again.

  3. BTW, Melissa Errico's antics were the basis of a plotline on Star's WB comedy "Grosse Point". When the show was writing of Marcy Stenfeld's character Kim, Marcy pulled the same stunt. Star said in an interview that an actress on Central Park West had done something similar when she was killed off, and Errico's Alex was the only female to bite the dust.

GP was pure genious! I think that I read somewhere that when the camera panned on Orrico's character's "dead" face, she kept moving her mouth and making faces.

Here's what I really enjoyed about Dianna. She had good lines and was a campy bitch when delivered:

  4. This show was supposed to be a huge break out hit in 1995. This was around the time that Melrose Place was already big and with that buzz, CPW was must see tv. So popular that Mariel Hemmingway hosted SNL and did a skit about CPW with Will Farrell.

Another fun fact was that Melissa Orrico was upset that her character was killed off so during her death scene she purposely made it over dramatic and tried milking every second to waste time.

::sigh:: Such fun camp that I hope to one day revive in TV.

  5. I never watched Sunset Beach when it was on the air but I ended up falling in love with it after it was cancelled. It's very strange. It's like, would I have watched it when it was on the air? All of the campy plots, the cat fights, and the creative arcs. This was my kind of show.

This show actually brought me to my connection to Aaron Spelling via SuBe's theme song composer Tim Truman.

A lot of the Sunset Beach actors have had a lot of acting roles. I see a few of them from time to time.

Sherri Saum is on FX's show Rescue Me.

Tim Adams was on Rescue Me also but pops up from time to time on shows like Law & Order.

Kam Heskin is on NBC's web show Coastal Dreams and starred in the TV sequel and now prequel to The King and Me.

If you check it out on imdb, you'll see that a few of them left the business (Shawn Batten), others went the America Telenovela root (Clive Robertson), and others became big (Eddie Cibrian).
