End of 'World' for McCouch & Wilson
Dusty and Meg are set to exit Oakdale this week

In a shocking casting decision, The World Of Oakdale has let Grayson McCouch and Marie Wilson go from the show. Fans might be shocked, as well. "I expect they will be," says Executive Producer/Headwriter Dusty Alford. "I think the fans loved this couple and I know some of them will hate to see them leave, but really, there's just no room for them on the canvas at this time."

McCouch took the news gracefully, but Wilson had a harder time accepting it. When asking if fans can expect to see Dusty and Meg home for Thanksgiving, the most important holiday for the Snyders, as well as other special occasions, Alford remained tight-lipped. "Mr. McCouch and Mrs. Wilson were very gracious and I, along with the rest of the cast and crew, will miss them dearly," said Alford, obviously dodging the question at hand.

Throughout the past few months, the couple has been through the ringer. Meg told Dusty she was pregnant, only for him to believe that it was her jealous attempt at keeping him from Lucy. Dusty spent one night in bed with Lucy, who left a short time later. He kept it a secret, even after proposing to Meg. The tryst came to light when Lucy returned to town pregnant from her one night stand with Dusty, but Lucy soon miscarried and Meg, feeling betrayed, left Oakdale to clear her head. When she returned, she set a few ground rules for Dusty and soon, the couple found themselves at the wedding altar. However, Meg's ex-husband arrived in just enough time to stop the wedding for a brief moment and tell Meg the real reason their marraige went down the drain and to give Dusty and Meg his blessing. All the commontion sent Meg into premature labor, but the baby (and Meg) came out of the ordeal alright. And now, the couple and their infant daughter are headed to the swampy bayous of Louisiana for a fresh start.

McCouch and Wilson last air on Friday, November 17.

I know that it is hard to write characters out, especially long term ones.Sometimes you have to do it! I recently had Rosanna take a turn for the worse. Carly left for Switzerland and Jack followed her. That is the way I wrote CarJack off. I will probably bring them back after the first of the year, maybe. Right now I didn't really have anything for them to do.

I know you will keep thigs moving and there will be another couple to fill their spot.

You are doing good!!

Sometimes you just have to retire characters. I am sure I will get to that point with some of mine. Right now even with my large cast I have plenty for them to do.

At least the way you are writing them out, they can always be brought back.

Keep up the good work.
