JERRY DOUGLAS: NOT TOO 'YOUNG' FOR 'WORLD'

Former Y&R star Jerry Douglas has been keeping a secret for quite some time now. Before his time at 'Y&R' ever expired, he had been contacted by the powers that be at The World Of Oakdale to portray a brand new role created especially with him in mind.

And he accepted.

"I'm really looking forward to this. I've heard alot of great things about the direction the show is headed and I'm just glad to be a part of it," says Douglas. Executive Producer and Headwriter Dusty Alford also was thrilled when Douglas accepted. "Basically, if he couldn't do it, we weren't going to even bring the character on. Jerry is phenomenal in front of a camera and I wanted to get that same charisma and bring it to 'The World Of Oakdale'," says Alford. "And thank goodness he said 'yes' ".

Douglas will be portraying the newly created role of Grant Hamilton, a wealthy financier from New York who comes to town to help Emma Snyder get her farm back.

According to sources, Douglas's first day on set was at the beginning of the month so look for "Mr. Grant Hamitlon" to appear in Oakdale any day now. Maybe even this coming week.
