TULSA, OK - "Whoever it is...they're going to have mighty big shoes to fill, that's for sure." Words spoken by series head writer Josh Miller of the role of Shayne Lewis, last played by Billy Kaye.

A fan-fiction in the making, 'The Light' begins telling original stories after February 2003 when viewers saw Tony Santos (Jordi Vilasuso) toss a bomb down the stairwell of the KSRP news studio during an attempt to draw out Reva's (Kim Zimmer) stalker.

"For the most part Shayne was not a heavy hitter during that storyline so it's easy to recast with a much older Shayne and begin telling new stories for the character." Continues Hawkins.

Kyle Lowder, best known for his role on the NBC soap, "Days Of Our Lives" assumes the role of Shayne Lewis, the son of Joshua and Reva Lewis beginning in Episode 1 of 'The Light.' Lowder is on contract status, despite the fact that during the first few episodes he will be seen only briefly.

In other casting news, Morgan Englund will appear in Episode 2 of the fan-fiction.

'The Light' is slated to premiere in mid-September 2006.
