• All of Salem gathers for Midnight Mass.
• A light snowfall begins to fall on Salem starting at Midnight. Throughout the hour, it grows heavier and heavier.
• Celeste tosses and turns in her bed.
• The congregation sings “Silent Night.” Someone leaves the church in the middle of Midnight Mass. The person’s footsteps walk away from church, making footsteps in the snow, but the snowfall quickly fills the imprints.
• The babysitter of Claire, Zach, and JT reads the little ones a bedtime story.
• She begins:

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.”

• Meanwhile, the mystery person approaches a house. He or she peers through the windows and sees nothing. The snow continues to fall.
• The babysitter continues:

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.”

• A chimney rests upon a picturesque, Salem house. The rooftop is laden with snow. Suddenly, a ladder comes into view and is rested upon the house. The mystery person’s face now pops up slowly as he or she climbs the ladder. The person is now wearing a black ski mask.
• The story continues:

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.”

• Inside the house, it is quiet. The house is decorated for Christmas, and all seems well. The beds are all made, but everyone seems to be in attendance at Midnight Mass…except for one bed that has a sleeper cuddled into it.
• Meanwhile, outside the house, the assailant reaches into a bag and takes out a bottle that is half-filled. The person places a rag into the battle and leaves it so that half of the rag is hanging out of the bottle. He or she reaches into a pocket and pulls out a match. The match is struck against the chimney and ignites. The mystery person sets the rag on fire and drops the bottle down the chimney. The bottle hits the bottom of the fireplace and sets off an explosion that rips through the living room of the house. The Christmas decorations all whither away and burn to a crisp one by one. The fire quickly spreads roaring from room to room.
• From the outside of the house, the fire glows orange and red. The fresh snow that lines Salem reflects the color of the fire. The entire town glows red and orange.

• The mystery person scurries down the ladder. Seconds later, the ladder burns too. The fire lights up the black mask. Cold eyes lie behind the mask.
• "Silent Night" radiates throughout the town as the Salemites sing.
• Celeste wakes up and lets out a piercing shriek. The nurses come in and strap her down. They sedate her as Celeste continues to scream over and over and over again. Her eyes are filled with pain, fear, and agony.
• The attacker's eyes rage with hate and glow orange and red from the fire.
• Inside the house, the fire rages closer and closer to the bedroom inside which the one person in the house sleeps. Her face is revealed, and it is familiar face to all.
• The babysitter concludes with a whisper:

Episode #270 – Friday, December 22, 2006:

BRAND NEW OPENING!

• Greta is thrilled with the lavish present that Frankie has given her, but later, Eric surprises her when he gives her his gift - a Vom Amburg heirloom! Eric says that he managed to track it down. He tells her it had a lot of personal meaning to her mother and grandmother.
• Victor, Alice, and Maggie all run into each other at the hospital while visiting Caroline. Celeste, who has recently broken out of the mental ward, arrives. She tells them all that danger is near! She predicts that evil will strike Salem on Christmas!
• Laura recalls her plan to trick everyone into thinking Jennifer has died, even though she is really in a sanitarium in London. Laura is devastated, but she says that is what she thought was best for everyone. Laura flashes back to hearing from the doctors that Jennifer will remain in a catatonic state...possibly forever. Laura says she did not know what else to do.
• Austin and Carrie, Bo and Billie, Steve and Kayla, Shawn and Belle all have romantic lovemaking sessions on Christmas Eve.
• Greta shares a sexy kiss with Frankie under the mistletoe. Later, she gets caught under the same mistletoe with Eric, and she gives him a peck on the lips. She acts as if it is nothing, but she, Eric, Frankie, and Melissa all see it is more than that.
• Georgia, Bo, and Billie bond as a family. Shawn crashes the little party, however, and warns them all that Bo and Hope will re-unite once again and ruin their little family. Georgia and Shawn get into a huge fight, but Bo, Billie, and Georgia are able to return to their celebration.
• Later, Kayla, Bo, Roman, Carrie, Eric, Frankie, Greta, Steve, Stephanie, and Max celebrate Christmas together.
• Vivian prepares to spend the holiday alone, but Simone arrives. Vivian is shocked and touched to see Simone. Vivian is baffled by the baby Simone now has, but Simone says that she'll explain everything later. Vivian and Simone toast the holiday and knock back some champagne.
• Jan and Megan toast to their misery and wish their enemies in Salem a very un-Merry Christmas!
• Kristen and Stefano have a touching Christmas together.
• Kate, Lucas, Austin, and Will all show up to be with Billie and Georgia. Lucas asks Victor to join them, and he does. The
• John and Marlena put their grievances aside to celebrate Christmas with Belle and Claire as a family. John and Belle are shocked when Cassie arrives, crying and heartbroken. She explains that she feels more alone now than ever before and feels Max is going to leave her and their baby. Cassie asks her mother, Marlena, to let her celebrate with them. Marlena agrees. Belle is shocked, but she puts her previous issues with Cassie aside and celebrates Christmas!
• Jeremy, Mike, Maggie, Melissa, Alice, Doug, Julie, Laura, Abby, and Jack celebrate together and partake in the annual family tradition of the Horton Christmas Tree Hanging. Bo, Lucas, Shawn, JT, Zach, and Will arrive just in time for their ornaments.
• Kate and Victor get together to plot the downfall of Belle and Shawn, but they find themselves reminscing when a Christmas Carol comes on the radio. They begin slow-dancing to it. Secretly, each wonders if the other is just buttering the other up in order to drop the Alamain International vs. Titan vendetta. But they keep their suspicions private and have a nice moment together.
• Mike learns that he will be reading the Christmas Story to the kids at University Hospital. Later, he gives Carrie a present that he had bought for her last Christmas but never got the chance to give it to her since she left for California.
• Marlena, Eric, Carrie, Will, and Roman all pay Sami a visit in prison. They ask Sami if she really killed Alan. She swears that she did! She asks everyone to leave her alone! They regretfully leave Sami all alone on Christmas....
• Midnight Mass begins as all of Salem pours into the church.
• A light snowfall begins to hit Salem.
• Celeste tosses and turns in her bed in the asylum. She has a nightmare about the many faces of Salem. She hears screaming, pain, and agony. She shoots up in her head and lets out a blood curtling scream.

Episode #269 – Thursday, December 21, 2006:

BRAND NEW OPENING!

• The men of Salem have Christmas surprises for their lady loves.
• Jack and Billie get caught under the mistletoe, but they don't acknowledge it. Instead, she helps him grieve Jennifer.
• John gives Marlena a stunning charm bracelet with charms that recall very special memories for them both.
• Max surprises Abby with a gift he'd been planning to give to her for months....a car! Max explains that he put every piece of the car together himself, and he had it custom made for her. He explains that he started doing this months ago and was going to give it to her regardless of whether they were together or not.
• Steve dresses up like Patchie Claus and showers Kayla with tons of gifts that remind them both of their time together.
• Frankie stuns Greta by giving her a lavish necklace that takes her breath away.
• Victor has Caroline's hospital room showered with Chrismas poinsettias. She remains unconscious, but he feels as if he is impacting her recovery by doing this for her.
• Meanwhile, Maggie does the same for a comatose Mickey.
• Lucas brings Sami his Christmas present that he was planning to give her before she was arrested for Alan's murder. He gives her a scrapbook full of photos of all of their times together. He throws it at her and tells her to look at everything she's given up by killing Alan!
• Celeste escapes from the mental ward of the hospital.
• Marlena tells John that this changes nothing. When John leaves, Roman arrives, and Roman and Marlena discuss their favorite Christmas memories. Marlena tells Roman that she fears that she is losing her mind.
• Austin surprises Carrie by taking her to the rooftop and recreating all of their special memories up on the roof of the apartment complex. Carrie is only half there, however, as she thinks about Mike...not in a romantic way, but his prescense in Salem occupies her mind...and Austin knows it!
• Bo surprises Billie by taking her to the pier and revealing his gift to her....a boat! He explains to her that he doesn't want her to feel threatened by his relationship with Hope so he wants her to have this boat as a symbol of his love for her.
• Victor, Alice, and Maggie all run into each other at the hospital while visiting Caroline and
• Jack remains devastated by the death of Jennifer. Doug, Julie, and Jack recall how if Jennifer had not died maybe Mickey's stroke would not have been triggered. When Jack leaves, Doug and Julie tells Laura that Jack may never be the same again after Jennifer's death. Julie says that Mickey might never be either....when alone, Laura asks herself....."What have I done?"
• Meanwhile, in a cold, desolate hospital somewhere across the seas, a little Christmas tree stands in the window. It blinks on and off. A woman sits in a rocking chair, rocking back and forth. She stares out the window. Snow begins to fall. She continues to rock. Back and forth. Back and forth. It forms a rythym. The woman is coddled in a blanket. The phone rings. A nurse enters and answers the phone...."Jennifer Horton's room." Jennifer Horton rocks, back and forth, staring out the window with no expression on her face. Instead, are the cold catatonic eyes of a woman who has inherited her family's terrible mental illness. As the camera winds its way out of the room door, down the hallway lined with black and white checkered linoleum flooring, and out the front doors which reads "North Star Sanitarium."

BRAND NEW OPENING!

• Marlena tells Rae that she thinks she is losing her mind.
• A grief-stricken Maggie reaches for a bottle of booze. But she refuses it.
• Greta realizes how comfortable she is getting with Eric, and she pulls herself back. Greta tells Eric that she hasn’t felt this comfortable with him in years and that she needs to stop because she loves Frankie now.
• Melissa tells Frankie that his comforting her feels so natural and right. Melissa says she can still feel the deep love Frankie feels for her. She implores Frankie to make the right choice and choose her.
• Cassie realizes that Max is going to leave her regardless of whether he finds out that he is not the father of her baby.
• Bo asks Billie and Julie what the hell is going on. Billie tells him that Julie called her a home wrecking whore and a [!@#$%^&*]. Julie tells Bo that is what she is. Julie says she will be DAMNED if she lets Billie marry Bo! Bo tells Julie to back off. He tells her that he and Hope have talked extensively and that they are through – FOREVER! Billie apologizes to Julie. Julie rejects her apology and tells Billie to watch her back.
• Kate tortures Sami inside her jail cell. Kate calls Sami a trampy, little [!@#$%^&*] who is finally getting her just desserts! When alone, Sami recalls all of Will’s confessions. Sami asks to see her father, Roman Brady.
• A NEW DAY DAWNS, AND CHRISTMAS EVE ARRIVES IN SALEM!
• The front page of the Salem newspaper declares: SAMI BRADY CONFESSES TO THE MURDER OF ALAN HARRIS!
• The men of Salem have big Christmas surprises awaiting their lady lovers.
• Greta has a dream and realizes that she is torn between Frankie and Eric. She thought that was all behind her, but realizes that she isn’t.
• Frankie has daydreams about both Melissa and Greta and realizes that is more torn than ever.
• Jeremy and Jan each remember their steamy, sultry little kiss. But Jeremy writes it off saying Jan is a psycho. And Jan writes it off saying Jeremy is a jerk for exposing her. She vows to make him pay, but she can’t shake the passion of that kiss.
• Marlena has a nightmare that she is losing her mind.
• Maggie reaches out to Lucas and asks for his support in helping her not to drink during this difficult time. He tells his Aunt Maggie that he will help her get through this. Lucas is shocked when he sees the headline and sets off to find Sami and give her a piece of his mind!
• Jack and Billie get caught under the mistletoe!

• The Horton’s return home to the house. Maggie and Melissa are still in disbelief of what has happened.
• Kate and Victor decide to ruin Belle Black! They feel this is the best way not only to get revenge on her for breaking Philip’s heart, but also, to help him regain custody of Claire.
• Will visits Sami in prison. Will tearfully confesses that although he can’t remember, he fears he shot Alan. Will says he remembers fighting with Alan over finding out Alan raped Sami all of those years ago and how Alan seduced Will as a way for revenge against Sami. Will says he remembers arguing with Alan and then he remembers standing over Alan’s bloody body, and now the murder weapon was found in the apartment! Will tells Sami that he must have killed Alan! Will says he won’t let Sami take the fall for this.
• Maggie, Melissa, Alice, Bill, Julie, Mike, Doug, Jack, Laura, and Abby recall their favorite times of Mickey and Jennifer and try to find some solace in what has happened.
• Shawn and Belle make love and recall their childhood crushes on each other and their teenage romance.
• Greta opens up to Eric about Frankie.
• Frankie continues to support Melissa over her father, Mickey.
• Max tells Abby that he wants to be with her, as well, despite the baby he is having with Cassie. Cassie overhears and panics.
• Billie and Jack mourn Jennifer and grow closer than ever before.
• Sami tells Will to leave the jail and never mention any of this to anyone. Will says he overheard Lucas and Sami fighting and that he’ll never be able to forgive himself if he is the reason they break up for good. Sami tells Will to keep his mouth shut and let her take the fall for this. Will tearfully agrees.
• Bill tries to offer Lucas some advice on Sami, but although Lucas agrees he shouldn’t forgive Sami for killing Alan and ruining their future together, he doesn’t like hearing it from his deadbeat father. Lucas tells Bill to leave his life alone.
• Kate and Victor plot the downfall of Belle Black and Shawn Brady as a couple.
• Jeremy and Mike have a talk about Jeremy’s destructive behavior.
• Kristen recalls her night of hot sex with Eric while she spies him and Greta talking. Kristen says how it is all part of her big plan to ruin Marlena’s life!
• Marlena seeks guidance from Dr. Rae Choi.
• Shawn and Belle talk about their plans to regain custody of Shawn Brady III (Trey) and raise him and Claire as a family.
• A grief-stricken, Julie lashes out at Billie and calls her a whore. She says that she has stolen Bo from Hope and now she’s after Jennifer’s true love, as well. Julie tells Billie that she will NOT have it.
• Kate visits Sami in jail. She cackles and takes much pleasure in seeing Sami like this. Sami lashes out at Kate, who says that Sami has finally, finally lost! Kate tells Sami she has finally lost Will and Lucas and that she couldn’t be any happier about it if she tried.
• Alice begs Bill not to leave town so soon. But Bill says that he must.
• Billie tells Julie that she has misunderstood on many levels. Billie says that Bo and Hope’s marriage fell apart because he lied to her about Chelsea not being the true Georgia and how Hope lied to Bo about being married during her time as Princess Gina. Billie says their marriage disintegrated on its own, and she had NOTHING to do with it. She also says she is simply comforting Jack and how their relationship is NOT romantic. Julie tells Billie to wake up and see the way that Jack looks at her. Julie calls Billie a home wrecking whore. Billie slaps Julie! And Bo walks in the room in time to see it!

IT WON'T BE A KRIS KRINGLE FOR JOHN INGLE!

As readers now know, John Ingle who has played Mickey Horton since 2004 will no longer be with the blog. He was recently edited out of the blog's new opening and written off the show this week. "John Ingle is a great talent and really was the perfect re-cast for Mickey."...says the headwriter. "The show made a great choice in Ingle when re-casting the role which was still being filled by its original portrayer. That is no easy feat. Mickey, however, as a character, does not have a future with the blog as of right now."

"With the recent death of Jennifer, the impending exits of Mike and Bill, and the seemingly permanent exit of the character of Mickey, fans might be wondering what the future of the Horton's is. But never fear, the Horton's will be restored. There is a very big storyline coming up for all of the remaining Horton's. Remember that this is a blog where things are never quite as they seem."

Speaking of Horton's, Jaime Lynn Bauer has been bumped up to a series regular as Laura Horton. And Louise Sorel (Vivian Alamain) and Kelly McGarry (Simone Marais) have been given contracts, as well.

Episode #266 - Monday, December 18, 2006:

BRAND NEW OPENING!

• Mickey is rushed to the hospital. Maggie, Mike, Bill, Laura, Jack, Abby, Alice, Doug, Julie, and Melissa all come running in behind the stretcher. Kayla, Bill, and Mike go straight into the E.R. and help the attending physician to work on Mickey. The rest of the Horton’s try to comfort Maggie.
• Max leaves Cassie once again in order to be with Abby through this difficult time.
• Frankie comforts Melissa over her father’s hospitalization. Greta walks into the hospital and is taken aback by how close Melissa and Frankie are. Greta runs out of the hospital.
• Jeremy arrives at the hospital and finally receives word that his Aunt Jennifer has passed away and that Mickey is critically injured. Laura and Bill reprimand their grandson for being so selfish and careless and for going on a partying binge like this. Alice tells Jeremy that he has a lot of growing up to do. In rare form, when alone, Jeremy shows guilt and emotion over not being there for the Horton's.
• Kristen and Stefano have a pow-wow over her plans to destroy John and Marlena. Stefano tells her that he must continue to keep a low profile in Salem, but he urges her to destroy the lives of John and Marlena.
• Marlena stumbles across the Horton’s in the hotel waiting room and joins them in comforting Maggie and waiting for news on Mickey’s health.
• Abby tells Max that she has re-thought their situation, and she thinks they should be together despite the baby he is having with Cassie. Cassie overhears!
• Marlena and John remain estranged.
• Kayla, Bill, and Mike do everything they can to save Mickey while Maggie awaits word in the lobby with Alice and Julie.
• Megan confesses to Stefano that she has kidnapped Hope and is keeping her in a warehouse in London. Stefano is, at first, outraged at this turn of events, but he later is pleased and urges Megan to keep Bo and Hope apart no matter what the cost.
• Eric and Greta run into each other at Salem Place. She says she can’t vent to him about what is bothering her because it involves Frankie, and it isn’t fair to him, but Eric tells her it is OK. Greta opens up to Eric about Frankie and Melissa’s closeness.
• Mike, Bill, and Kayla emerge from the E.R. Maggie awaits. Kayla tells Maggie that she doesn’t have good news. Maggie and Melissa are both devastated. Kayla explains to the Horton’s that Mickey has suffered a major stroke, which is when the blood supply in the brain is interrupted, and not only that, but he apparently suffered a major blow to the head on a gravestone when he fell. Kayla tells Maggie and Melissa that Mickey is stabilized, but things do not look good for him. And the chance is very likely that Mickey will remain unconscious for a very, very long time. Bill comforts Alice who cries softly. Maggie and Melissa break down in each other's arms.

Episode #265 - Friday, December 15, 2006:

BRAND NEW OPENING!

• Frankie comforts Melissa over Jen’s death. Melissa returns the favor to Frankie who was also close with Jennifer.
• Max consoles Abby.
• Carrie and Austin are floored when Mike answers the door to the Horton House. Carrie instinctively gives Mike a hug. Austin understands, but it is unsettling to him.
• Doug, Julie, Maggie, Mickey, Laura, Bill, and Alice recall their fondest memories of Jennifer.
• Billie comforts Jack. Jack discusses the guilt he feels over all of this. Billie tells Jack that Jen loved him more than life itself and that she would not want him to tear himself up like this. Jack says she never would have been in Europe if not for him. Billie tells Jack that he and Jen were meant to be and would have reunited eventually.
• Bo cannot find Hope anywhere. He has his contacts search all over London for her, but nothing.
• Megan realizes Bo is about to uncover that she kidnapped Hope.
• Mike awkwardly gives Austin a handshake. Austin takes his hand and pulls him into a hug. They apologize to each other for each having lost Jennifer…but there is an underlying meaning to their words.
• Mickey leaves the living room. Bill follows him, asking Mickey if he is alright. Mickey insists that he is.
• Abby reaches out to Max in her pain and agony, and they share a tender kiss.
• Megan has her handwriting expert mock up a letter from Hope to the Horton's telling them how sorry she is to hear of her cousin's death and how she will cut her trip short to return not long after the New Year. It is enough to ease the minds of Doug, Julie, and Bo for now, but they feel something is not right!
• Billie and Jack grow closer than ever as he lets her see a rare side of him very few people have.
• Mike and Carrie catch up on what their lives have been like since they left each other in Israel. Austin gives them the time they need to reminisce. But it secretly bothers him.
• A new day dawns in Salem….the day of Jennifer’s funeral.
• Each Horton and loved one of Jennifer shares an emotional and touching story of their times with Jennifer. Bill, Mike, Maggie, Alice, Doug, Julie, Bo, Lucas, Laura, Austin, Billie, Mickey, Melissa, Abby, and Jack each take turns saying goodbye to Jennifer. There is not a dry eye in the house. The funeral ceremony comes to an end as sobs and Jack Jr.’s cries are heard radiating through St. Luke’s.
• At the gravesite, everyone gathers to say his or her final goodbyes to Jen. When it is Mickey’s turn, something goes terribly wrong. Alice calls out to Mickey. Mickey says that he is fine. Bill gets in close to his brother and tells him this is the second time Mickey is staggered in less than 24 hours and that he must get checked out. Mickey asks for a moment to finish saying goodbye to Jennifer. As Bill, Laura, and Alice turn their backs to give Mickey the chance to say goodbye, they hear a thud, and they turn around. Mickey lies on the ground. Maggie and Bill rush to his side. Alice is heartbroken. Maggie begins screaming and crying. Kayla also rushes to Mickey’s side, and Bill and Kayla deduce that Mickey is not breathing. Maggie screams a gut-wrenching scream. Bill and Kayla begin C.P.R. Maggie screams. Her face is of pure devastation. FREEZE FRAME.

CASTING UPDATES!

• As fans now know, Sarah Buxton (Annie Douglas) is no longer with the blog. “The character of Annie is great, and I think she will go down as one of the greatest daytime characters of all time. But there is no room for her on the blog at this time. We have a very exciting storyline coming up, and it will take the bare essentials of Salem and DAYS to make it great. Annie isn’t going to be a part of it, but she will be back! There is not a doubt in my mind. We have to reveal Alan’s real killer sometime!
• In a shocking turn of events, Joseph Mascolo has been bumped to recurring status. “There’s not much of a story for Stefano quite yet. But we need him on the cast because he has great influence over Kristen, Kate, and Megan. Mascolo is a great talent, and I don’t plan on wasting him. But I have to wait for the best time to bring Stefano on more permanently, and now is not that time. He’ll be used as often as he was when he was on contract, but the status change will be noted.”
• Greg Rikaart will first air as Andrew Donovan in January.
• Rupaul Charles Andre and Janice Dickinson will also appear that month.
• Bree Williamson has landed the role of Willow Espinoza, who will be different from the Willow on-screen on the real DAYS. She is slightly older, and she will help kick off an adventure story for the younger set. She will also first air in January.

• The Horton’s continue to grieve Jennifer and remember their fondest memories with her. Lucas, Bo, and Billie arrive. Lucas has a touching reunion with his father, Bill.
• Jan and Jeremy run into each other at Salem Place. She takes him off guard and finally gets her punch off. She slaps him across the face – HARD!
• Victor and Kate scheme to ruin Shawn and Belle. Victor is pleased as punch when it looks like her is growing closer to Kate, and he is sure this will mean Alamain International will release the grip they have on him.
• Laura and Mike fill Lucas, Bo, and Billie in on what happened. Bo, Doug, and Julie try vigorously to find Hope and tell her the news, but they can’t.
• Jeremy and Jan continue fighting. She tries to slap him again, and he pulls her into a surprisingly passionate kiss.
• Annie Douglas decides her time in Salem has come to an end.
• Austin and Carrie get wind of Jennifer’s death, and they decide to cut their trip short. Carrie tries to be there for Austin whom she knows is very close with Jennifer.
• Kate tells Victor that they must plot to make sure Shawn looks bad in the eyes of the court so Philip can sue for custody of Claire, he can win, but Victor says that Shawn is his grandson too, and he would like to target Belle…and not Shawn.
• Annie says goodbye to Eric. Eric apologizes to her for using her. He tells her that is not who he really is and that he hopes she knows that. She says that she does and that she loves him more than he will ever know. She wishes him luck in life.
• Max learns about Jennifer’s death during Cassie’s amniocentesis. He leaves Cassie alone at the hospital and takes off to be with her.
• Frankie plans a romantic treat for Greta, but he learns of Jennifer’s death in the middle of it! Frankie is crushed. Greta consoles him.
• At first, Abby pushes Max away, but she lets him in and comforts her.
• Frankie leaves Greta in order to be there for Melissa, who is grieving her cousin’s death.
• Austin and Carrie find closure on the fact that their baby is gone.
• Annie Douglas books a one-way ticket to Sunset Beach. She regrets everything that happened with Alan, but she says she had to frame Sami for the death because she turned her back on her.
• Annie boards the plane. As she is getting on it, a woman steps off another plane. The woman is Simone. She has returned with Austin and Carrie’s baby!
• Austin and Carrie are very happy to be reunited and happier than they’ve ever been. They arrive at the Horton House and ring the doorbell. Mike answers the door.

• Mike and Bill pick Jack up off the ground and carry him to the living room. Laura, Melissa, Alice, Abby, Maggie, and Mickey follow them into the living room. Mike and Bill demand Laura tell them what is going on while Jack continues his breakdown.
• Cassie is worried when Max wants to attend her amniocentesis appointment with Dr. Bader.
• Stephanie (special guest star Lauren Ambrose) plans a special romantic day for Steve and Kayla.
• Marlena informs John that she had a huge fistfight with Kristen and that they vowed to ruin each other.
• Frankie and Greta admit to each to each other that their feelings for each other run deeper than either realizes.
• Shawn and Belle spend a romantic day together…in bed!
• Laura tearfully tells The Horton’s that the casket that was delivered the house…is Jennifer! Abby and Jack hold each other and break down in each other’s arms.

• Dr. Rae offers guidance to Marlena. Both are relieved that Marlena was not loosing it when she imagined seeing Kristen everywhere.
• Steve realizes he needs to tell Kayla the truth!
• Annie tells Sami that she hopes she gets the death penalty….and actually dies this time!
• Bill comforts Laura. Jack and Abby are inconsolable. Jack blames himself. He says that if he wasn’t tricked by the Dimera’s into working for them, then Jennifer wouldn’t have been on the run from him. Abby and Jack are shattered. They refuse to believe this. Laura says that she wishes it weren’t true, but the Jennifer they love and know is gone forever. Mike and Bill have a touching father and son moment as they comfort each other. Alice is heartbroken, but she tells the Horton’s that they need to stick together to get through this troubled time. Maggie calls Lucas, Bo, and Billie and tells them to come to the Horton House right away. The Horton’s are shattered at the news of Jennifer’s death.

As Jack walks to the foyer to use the phone, the front door opens. In walks……Laura Horton. She is holding Jack Jr. Jack’s face lights up as he runs towards his son. Jack takes the boy in his arms. When he does so, he sees Laura’s face…………she has tears streaming down her face. Laura sees the coffin in the living room. She is not shocked. Laura and Jack lock eyes. Jack shakes his head “No.” Laura confirms it with a look. Maggie walks into the room. She sees how unstable Jack is becoming as he hands Jack to Maggie. Jack falls to his knees screaming and crying. He screams Jennifer’s name as it echoes throughout the entire house.

• Victor tells Kate that Philip might be more prone to return to Salem if Shawn and Belle are apart.

- Frankie and Greta meet up, and they tell each other about how they each got into fist fights with Melissa and Eric, respectively.

- Lucas and Sami scream and yell at each other. Lucas asks her if she really killed Alan. She recalls her plan to take the rap for Will whom she believes did kill Alan. She says yes. Just then, Will walks in ready confess everything to Lucas and Sami!

- Jeremy tells Jan to come over to the Horton House later, and they will scheme and plot there!

- Georgia is overwhelmed by the response from modeling agencies she is getting after her premiere in the Titan/Alamain Enterprises fashion show.

- Victor plots to get the goods on Vivian or Kate so he can keep 49% of Titan stock that Vivian is blackmailing her for.

- Meanwhile, Jeremy and Jan brainstorm a bunch of ideas to keep Shawn and Belle apart.

- Mike reveals that he is home for the holidays. He also explains that his mother has called him and asked him to meet her in Salem. The Horton’s are ecstatic about Laura’s return and that they will all be together this Christmas.

- While on his way to visit Claire, Victor sees Shawn and Belle kissing goodbye. He realizes Shawn and Belle have re-united. He comes up with a brilliant plan to keep Kate on his side.

- Jack and Abby wonder if Laura’s return means that Jennifer is coming home! Mike says that he doesn’t know much about that. Mike explains that the last time he talked to Jennifer, she was very hurt by his betrayal. Jack agrees, but he says that Mike knows better than anyone that the Dimera’s can trick almost anyone into working for them!

- Marlena imagines Kristen stalking her in the parking garage of the hospital. Marlena closes her eyes and does the Count To Ten exercise Rae has given her. Marlena stands with her eyes closed. She counts to ten. When she opens them, she sees KRISTEN not far from her face. She jumps and screams, but she regroups and grabs Kristen! She realizes Kristen is real, and the two begin to CATFIGHT!

- Jan and Jeremy scheme and plot to keep Shawn and Belle away from each other, but little does Jan know that Jeremy is really plotting AGAINST her to expose her ruin her even further in the eyes of Shawn and Belle.

- Megan is upset when she returns to Salem and learns that she has successfully kidnapped Hope…but now she must contend with Bo’s finacee, Billie!

- Doug and Julie interrupt Bo and Billie’s night of passion with news that they think Hope is missing. Billie is upset that their night is ruined.

- Shawn and Belle continue their passionate lovemaking.

- After her bitter catfight with Melissa, Greta finds John. She longs to tell her father the truth about her paternity so that he can help her through this time.

- Lucas learns that the murder weapon that shot Alan was found in Sami’s apartment. Lucas confronts Sami in her jail cell.

- Marlena hallucinates seeing Kristen once again!

- Carrie and Austin grieve their baby, Roman Robert Reed. Carrie is finally ready to put her theory that her baby is alive to rest.

Lucas explains that he was upset too…hated him…wanted to kill him, but he could never send himself to prison like that and hurt her and Will like that! Lucas reprimands her for being the same old “Shoot Now, Think Later” selfish Sami Brady!

- Bo is once again very upset when he catches Jack and Billie hugging. When alone, Billie explains that she and Jack are best friends, and that is it.

- Will is tortured over the night of Alan’s murder that he can’t remember! He recalls having an argument with Alan, a blank couple of hours, and then standing over the body with blood all over him. He also recalls how Sami took his clothing, burned it, and has taken the fall for him. Will hears Lucas and Sami arguing in his cell. He decides to come clean!

- At the Green Mountain Lodge, Austin and Carrie decide to move forward with their engagement. They realize that they are more in love now than ever. Meanwhile, a man steps off of a plane at the Salem Airport. He walks the long distance of the airport and exits the building and steps into a taxi. He tells the taxi driver his destination. The taxi driver asks him if he is familiar with Salem. The man replies…. “Oh, yes. All Too Familiar.”

- Marlena has another startling hallucination about Kristen. It is clear Marlena is LOSING it!

- Victor tells Vivian that he will not give into her demands. She tells him to prepare to lose his kids, his business, and the love of Caroline because she is going to expose him!

- Shawn and Belle decide it is best Shawn stays at his apartment so they don't confuse Claire.

- Greta and Melissa's argument grows even more heated! They begin to shove each other. It leads to a hair pulling war between them.

- Meanwhile, Eric and Frankie are also in a fist fight over Greta.

- Roman tells Sami about the gun he found in her apartment. She is shocked. She breaks down and tells Roman that someone must have planted it.

- Annie flashes back to Alan growing violent and about how he learned Annie stole Carrie's baby.

- Austin and Carrie have a romantic getaway at the Green Mountain Lodge. They make lover over and over again.

- Belle walks Shawn to the door so that he can go back to his apartment. At the doorway, they kiss each other on the cheeck goodbye...that leads to a peck on the lips....which leads to a passionate kiss....which leads to them ripping and tearing their clothes off once again. They go back inside the apartment and slam the door shut behind them.

- Cassie vows that Max can never learn he is not this baby's father!

- Jan is shocked at Jeremy's news. Her ears perk up. Jan wonders how this will help her get Shawn back.

- Melissa and Greta are broken up by Jack! While Steve manages to tear Frankie and Eric off of each other. Steve tells the uncle and nephew to cool off. At the other end of Salem Place, Jack tells Melissa to take a hike. Greta and Jack begin talking about the predicament she is in and how she's inadvertantly broken up Frankie and Melissa. While Steve and his nephew, Eric, talk about his deep feelings for Greta.

- In an emotional scene, Carrie finally comes to terms with her baby's death and gives up on the notion that someone took her baby.

- Roman tells Sami that this is not looking good for her. When alone with Will, she asks Will if he brought a gun into the apartment. He says he cannot remember that night! Sami tells Will to keep quiet about everything about that night! Sami plots and schemes to make sure Will is not sent to prison!

- Jeremy wonders to himself what is up with the people in this town. He decides that he is going to set out and destroy all of the evil people in Salem. He tells them he is going to show them a thing or two about scheming and manipulating.

- Marlena has a disturbing dream about Kristen and wakes up in fright! Marlena is becoming unhinged.

- Roman learns the gun he found in Sami's apartment is the gun that killed Alan! Lucas overhears the reading of test results. Lucas is devastated....and furious! He sets off to find Sami.

- Jeremy tells Jan that he will help her get Shawn back....for a price! Little does she know, it's all a big trick!

- Victor tells Vivian that he will sell her the stock back as long as she keeps his secret. When alone, however, he says that he needs to figure out Kate's big secret so he has some leverage with her. Evil Victor is back!

- Melissa has choice words for Greta! She tells her that she feels as though Greta stole Frankie from her! Greta fires back that is not the case! Melissa says that at first this was just a plan to help Frankie get some extra money so Melissa can get her children back, but now, Melissa says Frankie has fallen for Greta! Greta tells Melissa that is ridiculous.

- Carrie and Austin retreat to the Green Mountain Lodge.

- Abby and Max remain torn apart by his impregnating Cassie.

- Shawn and Belle remain in post-coital bliss.

- Vivian recalls getting the goods on Victor and hearing him confess that he started the fire that hurt Caroline.

- Eric and Frankie run into each other at Salem Place. Things get heated quickly.

- Sami asks Will if he remembers anything more from that night, but he swears he does not. Sami asks Will if he thinks he killed Alan.

- Roman runs tests on the gun he found in Sami's apartment.

- Jeremy is shocked that Jan just slapped him for calling her desperate.

- Rae listens to Marlena express her fears and concerns about her and her baby's safety....Rae fears Marlena could be hallucinating about Kristen, which cannot be good.

- Melissa tells Greta that Frankie told her himself that he has developed feelings for Greta. Greta flashes back to her and Frankie's Thanksgiving Day kiss.

- Frankie and Eric fight over Greta. Eric tells Frankie that he should go back to Melissa since he's broken her heart. Eric makes a snide remark and refers to Frankie as Uncle Frank. The fight escalates, and they come to blows.

- Roman learns the gun found in Sami's apartment is the one that killed Alan!

- Sami vows to protect Will at any cost even if it means going to jail for a murder she did not commit.

- Vivian tells Victor that she has a proposition for him. When Victor probes further, Vivian tells him that she won't turn him into the police for arson and ruin him in the eyes of Caroline.....for a price!

- Melissa lashes out at Greta telling her that she is not the Miss Innocent she lets everyone think she is! Greta tells Melissa that she is sick of playing victim and that she is going to be happy for a change!

- Vivian tells Victor that he is going to *GIVE* her back the 49% of Titan Stock back or she will turn him into the police for what he has done to Caroline and their fashion show.

- Cassie casues a huge rift between Abby and Max when she tells Max that he can't be with another woman AND raise their baby! When Cassie threatens to take their child away from him, Abby reiterates to Max that they need to stay apart! When alone, Cassie rubs her very pregnant belly. She takes pleasure in the fact that her plan seems to be working....she reveals.....that Max isn't the father of her baby!

2007 Previews:

??????????: There's definitely going to be a big, umbrella storyline. It's a mystery. A WhoDunIt. It's going to encapsulate ALL of Salem. Ideally, it will rival 1995's Desecrator and 2003's Salem Serial Killer storyline. It's going to be set up the same way with a huge, huge ripple storyline for *ALL* of Salem. It's going to have multiple chapters. It will be a huge portion of 2007. Suspect everyone.

Horton's: The events of December are going to continue to shatter and tear the Horton's apart. This is top secret until December is over.

Melissa/Frankie/Greta/Eric/Kristen/John/Marlena: These storylines are going to come together and EXPLODE! Eric is going to realize that Kristen is the woman he slept with the night he got drunk. Marlena is going to find out not much after. Readers will find out the identity of who Greta's lover was on New Year's Eve. And then there is the secret that John is Greta’s father……this storyline is going to be NON-STOP DRAMA! It's the focus of early 2007.

Will/Lucas/Sami/Austin/Carrie/Mike: There is going to be a murder trial in January, and a TON of secrets are going to come POURING out. Sami has done terrible, horrible, AWFUL things. And she’s going to pay for them. Simone, Ivan's neice, the woman who has Austin and Carrie’s baby, will be back in Salem.

Jack/Billie/Bo/Hope/Megan: Hope is going to be kept captive by Megan for quite a while. Billie and Bo will prepare for their wedding. Jack has to confront his feelings for Billie before the wedding! And Hope has to make home to Salem in time...but will she? B&B are set to marry on Valentine’s Day!

Steve/Kayla: Kayla is going to learn the truth about Steve, and it won't be pretty! This is very classic Steve/Kayla. He did this to protect her, but it also goes back to the fact that he feels like he has never been good enough for her. There will be no third party here.

Willow, Shawn, Belle, Cassie, Max, Abby, Jan, Jeremy: Cassie’s secret will be revealed to the audience THIS WEEK! Willow Espinoza will join the cast. It will be a whole new take on the character. She will not be a love interest for Shawn, and she’s going to be slightly older than this set…and older than the current Willow on the show. There is an adventure-type storyline planned for these seven. Abby won’t wait for Max forever! Shawn and Belle…better watch their backs. Victor and Kate will team up to ruin them.

TITAN VS. ALAMAIN: The end of this storyline is near. It’s going to end in a shocking way. Kate and Victor are going to team up to break up SHELLE. Vivian and Kate have been very, very good about not falling for Victor and keeping the corporate vendetta emotion-less. But one woman will be falling for him. The investigation into the fashion show fire will continue. Victor will be found out! Kate's secret of her twin daughters will come back into play. Caroline will awaken!

Georgia: Janice Dickinson and Rupaul Andre Charles will be appearing to help Georgia transition into the modeling world. But Georgia is going to find out this isn’t exactly what it’s cracked up to be. There is danger ahead for Miss Brady!

EXITS: Christie Clark and Austin Peck will be leaving the show. Some readers will want to hunt me down and kill me when some of the exits of 2007 come. But they will be a part of the previously mentioned mystery. Hopefully, they’ll be written well, and readers will be able to enjoy it!

RETURNS: Tony and Nicole *ARE* indeed returning to Salem sometime in 2007. They’ll be debuting in February. Tony will be restored and good again. Nicole won’t be pining after Eric. New things are ahead for both characters.

- Annie is revealed to be Alan's killer!

- Roman and the Salem P.D. search Sami's apartment.

- Lucas tries to calm Will who has visions of his hands being bloody and standing over Alan's dead body.

- Sami sits in her jail cell and breaks down as she realizes she is all alone once again.

- Austin and Carrie plan for their weekend away at the Green Mountain Lodge.

- John packs his things up and moves out of the loft, but before he does, he and Marlena have flashbacks of their greatest memories together.

- Shawn and Belle's romantic night continues as he woos her into a passionate make-session.

- Jack and Steve continue to talk about their problems involving Kayla and Billie. Steve tells Jack that he needs to tell Billie how he feels about her, but Jack says Billie only sees him as a best friend.

- Bo and Billie's romantic evening is interupted by a call from Doug and Julie who tell Bo they think Hope is missing because she stood them up and is no where to be found.

- Annie recalls how she tried to get Sami to listen to her about a big problem the day Alan died. She remembers how Sami blew her off. She flashes back now and remembers how that day Alan found out that she and Sami were the ones who stole Austin and Carrie's baby!

- Bo tells Doug and Julie about Hope's letting saying that she was going to spend time by herself in Europe before coming home.

- Steve convinces Jack to tell Billie how he feels.

- Shawn props Belle up on the kitchen counter and kisses her furiously. They take each other's clothes off. He picks her up and carries her up the stairs of the loft.

- Carrie expresses guilt over leaving Sami alone at a time like this, but Austin convinces her that she's manipulated and hurt them too many times for them to keep feeling sorry for her.

- Annie remembers how she tried to get Sami's help. She tried to tell Sami that Alan knew their secret! She remembers on the peir that night how they got into a fight that became heated and Alan became very physical with her.

- Shawn and Belle make love to each other for the first, REAL time to a montage of their greatest moments.

- Roman recalls finding semi-burned clothing in Sami's fireplace that had Alan's blood on it. Seconds later, he finds a gun in Sami's room!

- John and Marlena share a heartbreaking goodbye. When John leaves, Marlena swears she sees Kristen in her apartment! She screams.

- Will visits Sami in her jail cell. They remember the night Alan died and how Sami caught Will with blood all over him and explained how . She flashes back to how Will immediately changed and how she tried to burn his clothes to remove the evidence.

- Annie recalls pointing a gun at Alan and telling him that he has to keep his mouth shut about her and Sami stealing Carrie's baby or she'll kill him. She remembers not having any intention of actually killing him...just scaring him, but when he struck her face, and they began fighting over the gun, it went off! Annie then recalls how when Sami turned on her that is when Annie knew she had to frame Sami for the murder!
