About yesterday’s ending....
I was a bit disappointed that it was Arya that destroyed the Night King. They’ve build up Jon vs TNK for so long, so I wanted to see Jon do it. Someone, convince me that it made sense for Arya to be the one. LOL
Night battles.....it can be hard to see at times. I prefer day battles.
I agree with you. It made no sense at all. I was really disappointed too. It just kills the re-watch value of the show for me knowing how lame it ended up.
SpoilerValyrian Steel was forged with Dragon Fire and that is what Arya used to kill the NK but when Dany used the Dragon fire on the NK it had no effect. Fail

For anybody that doesn't know, this site has a lot of old classic Days episodes. And other soaps as well.

I hope the show isn't a boring talkfest and the actors can sell their roles to me. Remember when the James Bond franchise tried to sell Denise Richards as a weapons expert.

Emilia and Sophie look really nice.

I'll be rooting for Jack Bender and Kit Harington to win the Emmy this Sunday.

I was hoping to see Jack Bender get another crack at directing next season. I have always liked him.

I've been watching a Mike and Robin playlist on Youtube lately and have really enjoyed revisiting their love story. It was really good! It's funny how they seem to get forgotten because of the other big couples of that time. Days was really awesome in the 80s with romance! Robin was different than Marlena, Hope, Kim and Kayla and so on. It was refreshing. And the storyline with Nancy (Sonia Curtis) was very poignant. I really hated when Robin left and they hooked Mike up with April. It just didn't click with me. Days should bring their son Jeremy back again. Last time wasn't so great but we've got new writers now and Jeremy is a Horton.
Anyways what I wanted to know is what happened to Derya Ruggles? I noticed that she didn't do much after Days - did she get married , raise a family or something? Michael Weiss of course went on to do "The Pretender" which I watched .

It's hard to believe that was 30 years ago! It can still bring a tear. KA was so innocent, nervous and adorable. That was the Hollywood Methodist Church on the corner of Highland Ave. and Franklin in Hollywood. I was totally fooled as a kid back then thinking it was in England. My favorite soap wedding.

That's a great pic of Bill and Susan! I think I'll dig out my record of Bill's and give it a spin.

That voice in that promo sounds like James Earl Jones but I know it isn't him.

Thanks for posting the Suzanne article! It was a nice read this afternoon.

I'll watch some of Crossroads next Sunday morning.

Was this a bad soap? I noticed on IMDB that it scored a 3.3 which is surprising. Of course only 164 voters voted but still that is a low score. It looks like a lot of these episodes are on Youtube so I'll have to check some out. I heard Susan Hanson was a good actor. This is one of the only UK soaps that I haven't watched anything from yet.

Jam6242 - Thanks for posting all of those articles! I enjoyed reading them. I was surprised that the Peters family was so abundant. I remember Greg and Amanda fondly. I remember a episode of Days where they had Peter Brown do his famous fast gun draw routine from when he was in that western tv show. It was pretty cool.

Didn't Victor has some role in Cates' criminal activity too?
Yes, but he had Larry Welch take the fall for him.

James Reynolds had some good scenes from that SL. This is spoilerish ---------- Marlena's new boyfriend was the new Police Commisioner Cates who was the one responsible for Theo'd death. Abe got to shoot Cates in his office in front of Marlena. If I remember correctly. It was a great scene because Marlena didn't know Cates was corrupt.

Thanks. I misread what you wrote. So he was Abe's father? Brother?
He was Abe's little brother. Bo knew Theo from his childhood. I thought he was a good character.

Rusty Cundieff was the actor that played Theo Carver. After Bo & Hope got married, Theo talked Bo into helping him find Danny Grant's murderer. I can't remember if Val was brought back for this or not. ?

Why didn't Deidre Hall become a hit on Y&R in '73-'75 ? She certainly had the look. That clip from 1982 is from my favorite DOOL era, the Margaret DePriest/Sheri Anderson era '82-'85. The show was so family oriented and flowed like magic. You could tell the minute Maggie left and Racina joined as Co-HW with Anderson. The Bo/Hope/Larry SL ended abruptly along with other SLs and the next thing we know Bope was in a plane crash and Andre and Stephano returned surrounded by women wearing pink outfits and carry machine guns, lol. I still loved DOOL up until Laiman took over solely as HW. With her swiped made for tv storylines and bringing in a lot of boring characters and families like the Ramirez bunch. I really hated that they killed Theo off though. Cundieff could be a little OTT sometimes but still I liked him a lot.

That's a rare color photo of Mike & Margo! I was a kid when this story aired but I remember it well. A little trivia about Suzanne Zenor is that she starred in a unaired pilot episode of "Three's Company". She played the Chrissy part but only under a different name - Samantha. I thought the pilot was funny but I guess the females co-leads didn't have enough vavoom for TPTB. The pilot is included in the Season Two dvd set for Three's Company as a bonus.
Would you happen to have a color photo of Chris & Mary (Taylor/Stanger) ? I have never seen one.

Here's a clip of the first Kayla Brady - Catherine Mary Stewart talking about being on DOOL . This is from a recent convention.

I loved Gwen Davies too! A scene with Gwen, Bo and Eugene is one of my all-time favorite DOOL scenes. It was when Roman (WN) was hiding out in Eugene's basement. And Stefano had arranged camera's to be placed in Eugene's attic to prject images of Trista to make Eugene think he was going insane. Anyways during a snowstorm, Bo, Eugene, Larry , Hope and Gwen were all stranded at Eugene's place. Eugene sees a image of Trista while upstairs and Gwen happens to see it as well. It's hoot all of it with Gwen, Bo and Eugene going outside in his car to discuss it several times. Gwen figures out that it's a projection. I loved this time at DOOL, crazy drunk Alex thinks he sees a shark in the Salem lake, Eugene has to marry Marlena, Tom makes them get married. It was a great time to watch DOOL! Ann-Marie was married to Michael Crichton and has a child with him. I loved her on the comedy show Sledgehammer too. She can do comedy.

Sort of off topic, but a friend of mine has a thread on Facebook about movies that you always watch when they show them on tv and someone mentioned "She's the One." They said that it starred Edward Burns, John Mahoney, and Cameron Diaz but didn't mention Jennifer Aniston. So I IMDB'd it to make sure that she was indeed in it and recalled another movie I usually end up watching when it's on TV, which is "Picture Perfect" with Jay Mohr, Kevin Bacon, and Jenn Aniston. I pulled up that page and was SHOCKED to learn that Arleen Sorkin was one of the screenwriters.
Did anyone else realize this? If so, do you know of any other movies that Ms. Sorkin was a screenwriter on? I enjoy that movie so much that it makes me curious what other films she's written. I know she did a TV show in the early 90s on HBO called "Dirty Laundry" that I've always wanted to check out, but that's about it.
I knew she wrote some animation and did a pilot for a tv show but didn't know about co-writing a movie. She is very well loved for voicing the Batman animation character Harley Quinn. She actually inspired the beloved cartoon character that writer, producer, and director Paul Dini created. Here's a clip of him talking about the DOOL scene that inspired him to create Harley:
Anne-Marie Martin (Gwen Davies) co-wrote the movie Twister with her then husband Michael Crichton.
The writer of Shrek 2 was inspiried by a Bo and Hope scene too. And pays homage to them in the film according to interview in SFX.

Peter Dinklage also had comments on Tyrion's stupidity, felt like Mark Hamill realizing how crappy Star Wars had become.
