They made me want to pretend it was my birthday so I could hear the restaurant hosts get animated with that song. I am not sure I want to watch debates because I really am tired of all of them. I listened to Barack Obama briefly. So there he is telling an audience he never said change was going to take one term. I don't remember the change slogan saying change you can believe in in two terms. It may sound logical but I am sure I never heard him say before that it would take eight years. Mitt Romney panders excessively but Barack Obama has this annoying need to try to comment on so much nonsense and things on which he does not have all the facts when he should say nothing. Mitt Romney's head should be spinning around trying to keep up with his multiple positions within hours of each and that laugh. But I think I find Paul Ryan the worst because he seems to be ultra phony. His speaking style is totally unappealing like a dishonest nerdy car salesman trying to unload a lemon by pointing out what's wrong with the other guy's car.

When it comes to race and the discussion of it, I live on a very special island which means my views are unlikely to be close to whatever passes as the norm on this topic. I generally understand from where others come on this topic because I pretty much had to travel down most of those same roads to get to my island but there was never a single day in my life that I ever considered race was more significant as a human trait than anything else. So the things that Scott Brown and his people are doing can be racist, offensive etc. and plain wrong but his claims that Elizabeth Warren does not "look Cherokee" are in line with how Americans are taught to identify people by race and that is by looking at them. The two most common methods for race identification is that people decide based on how a person looks and people decide based on what they know about a person's background. Black people can "pass for white" when they "look white" and no one knows their background. Movies such as Pinky and The Human Stain illustrate that quite nicely. If Barack Obama actualy "looked white" instead of "black" then imagine how differently people would have reacted to him. If he still won no one would claim that they can dream of being president now that they see someone who looks like them in the White House. One of the things I find baffling about that is exactly who did Barack Obama have to see in the White House to make it possible for him to dream that he could be president? When people pass this brilliant way of always thinking that they need to see someone who looks like them in order to believe they can accomplish whatever, do they ever consider how many more uneducated people there would have been in America if certain segments of the population needed to see someone who looked like them before they could read, write, etc.? Kids need to be taught how to be innovative not handicapped waiting for someone else to pave the way for them because what if that person never shows up?

I sincerely hope that I have given this enough thought. I cannot knock the U.N. if they are trying to look at the bigger picture. Like any other nation, Israel is going to look out for itself regardless how that might affect the entire world. The U.N. should be looking at the consequences for the entire world and not a specific nation. I don't think it's about anti-semitism for the world at large (it is definitely so for adversaries), but I don't suppose others give as much thought to just hating people due to their religion (even if there are Christians who see their religion as the truth). Whatever goes through the minds of the people who award the Nobel Prizes are far from whatever I might think. I'm not the awards type so this is like telling me that the people who vote for the Grammys consider Justin Beiber a really gifted musician. But I do believe I understand your point. If people are looking at Israel unfairly then they are wrong but I am not going to use one wrong to justify another by lumping Arabs and muslims into one extremist category. That's simply not my way.

Let him have one. Put him in one all by himself and allow him to roll down the windows and get sucked out and on his way down he'll understand why.

I was going to say with my rather limited knowledge on the topic that it seems awfully wrong to paint all Arabs with a singe extremist brush considering that they are not all muslims. Not all muslims are extremists so it would be equally unfair to make it all a religious deal as well. All the muslim extremists are not Arab either.

Here's an excerpt of life in the golden state: So I live in an unincorporated city in Los Angeles county and any time a measure is placed on the ballot to incorporate it I vote no because another layer of government means more waste, inefficiency and more taxes to pay for that waste and inefficiency. Anyway a ban on plastic bags was passed the year before last I think and went into effect last year or maybe I've lost track of time and it was this year. The bottom line is that I can go to certain grocery stores and be charged 10 cents for a paper bag if I don't have my own bag. I can go in the bag it yourself Superior market where they still supply plastic bags despite the ban. My local Vons charges for paper bags but if I drive about 14 miles to the /Vons in the incorporated city which is still in the same county, I get my groceries in free plastic bags. If I go to Walmart down the road, free plastic bags and the same at any Target in the county. I am sure you understand why I would never want to vote for another layer of government.

Sadly they do. On another note, how about that Congress? They seem to work way too hard.

On the whole topic of how the attacks in Libya would not have taken place if Barack Obama had a better relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu, what should Barack Obama do differently back the desire to go to war with Iran? Does NATO support this and does it matter whether they do? Which is preferable when attainable, war or a peaceful resolution? Are China and Russia blocking an embargo in their support of Iran? Is the U.S. indebted to China in such a way as to make their lack of cooperation regarding an embargo a problem?
