Really enjoyed the 30th anniversary special episode!

Thought they did a good job of balancing a good story with the need to have the cast glammed up in a big location worthy of the anniversary at the end! The ending felt a little bit rushed / confused though to me.  The video suddenly getting up on the big screen didn't seem likely, and what was the original plan if Yvonne hadn't managed to get the phone? 

Hope they've got some good stories lined up for the rest of the year!

they are doing a Facebook Live (Susan, Daniel ) and one of my compliments got through to Daniel. The host read it to him.

That's cool!   I've not seen it yet but looking forward to it, especially if you say its the best one yet. 

I'm a week or so behind on episodes - just up to the one where Nihat gets his bum out!

I really enjoyed the Tobias/Katrin storyline and the Laura/Nazan/Felix one, and thought they're the best storylines that GZSZ have done for a long while.  However, now both of them have finished,  they don't seem to have anything particularly lined up to take over and be the next big storyline.  The Felix storyline is awful (and makes me just worry about Lilly, who's had so many awful things happen I don't think I can cope!), and there's nothing else interesting going on at all. 

I agree, a Laura / Tuner pairing would be crazy, but a Moritz / Tuner pairing would be just awful! I really hope they don't go down that route.

Though glad they're giving him a storyline as he hasn't done much since arriving.

Really enjoying the show at the moment. 

I'm a couple of weeks behind, but catching up fast as there's so much to make me want to keep watching. 

I've enjoyed the Nihat storyline,  the Laura/Felix/Nazan storyline is going along nicely,  and now the Katrin/Tobias/Melanie storyline is getting really good too!  The Toni storyline is a little too complicated for me to completely understand what's going on, but seems to be interesting.  

The other storylines are providing good comedy relief / entertainment as well - enjoying Maren/Mickey and the Jon/Philip/Emily storyline being much lighter at the moment is really rewarding after everything their relationships have been through. 

Only Tuner really seems to be on the periphery of the show with not much to do. At least Moritz gets in some workplace or family scenes.

You've explained it pretty well there I think! Thanks for the catch up.  I loved Jo and Katrin when they were together and enjoy any scenes they have together now.  I'm still not convinced by Katrin's new love interest. I just hope when more gets revealed about his missing wife (if it ever does) that its not as predictable as it seems.

I didn't like Yvonne much when I restarted watching , but I've really changed my opinion.  The actress really is great you're right. and the fact she's in the middle of lots of good storylines helps.

I'm not clear on this either. I think it all happened to Sunny on the TVNow exclusive spin off show? I didn't watch that, and the flashback's they've used don't really help. It all seems to have been forgotten about now anyway!

I screamed in horror with this scene!   Additionally, Emily is easily one of the best characters on the show though.  Her facial expressions and reactions are priceless.  I do miss the little friendship group she had with Sophie and Jasmin though,  she doesn't fit as naturally with the current group I don't think. 

You sound like you're watching some good stuff Skylover.  I missed all these episodes so the storyline's all a bit of a mystery to me.  What is still really clear is that Laura is a right horrible cow still! 

Yes, the friendship between Moritz and Nihat is cool, thought they don't seem to be on-screen together at all at the moment. Nihat's back doing all his 'friend' scenes with Tuner and Paul. 

The pay off for the Phillip/Jon/Patrizia storyline reveal was well worth the wait! What a scene!

I've tried watching Unter Uns a few times but it's never grabbed me in. 

I'm all caught up on GZSZ now and up to date with episodes and really enjoying it.  I loved Emily's reaction to finding out about Philip and Patrizia. The actress is so good. Her face when she saw them coming out the elevator was priceless! 

I'm also loving the Nihat and Lily 'relationship' though I really like Lily and it always goes wrong for her (whatever she says this time about not looking for a full relationship) so I'm dreading that happening. 

Katrin's new guy seems interesting, though it seems very predictable that he either a) killed his old love  or b) she'll arrive back just as they're about to get married. Maybe GZSZ will suprise me and it will head in an interesting direction. 

I'm even actually enjoying the Erik storyline with the faked burglary and the money, and normally I don't care for him. 

The only storyline I don't understand what is going on with is the whole Yvonne/Laura/Moritz thing. My German is not good enough to pick up on what's going on and understand all the back story that I've missed.  Huntress would you mind explaining a bit about it if you've got the time, please?

Don't seem to have had any time for watching GZSZ at all over the past few months, hopefully will catch the latest episodes over Christmas and catch up with what's going on. 

I wish the GZSZ team were better at keeping the openings more up to date with the current characters!

Yeah , exactly, I was hoping for some tighter underwear at least ! 

I quite liked the lesbian girl, Anni, who left a few years ago. 

I wonder who they are planning to pair Moritz up with? Let's hope they don't waste the character.

Though, perhaps gay guys in Germany have different tastes

I really liked how it was written. They had all these plans to go travelling, it was so sad 

I'm all caught up on this too now - really thought it was well done.  The actor who played Maren was good, but I agree Lilly was really good. I love Lilly so much,  I was in bits.  The actress has such a streak of sorrow that runs through her protrayal of her, it gets me every time something happens to her!

I'm from the UK. I don't watch any of the UK soaps any more now. I used to watch them all years ago.  I don't really have the time, but they don't interest me so much anyway these days. If I had to watch one I'd watch Emmerdale as I've watched that on and off until about 2 years ago. 

I load GZSZ on the tvnow website tvnow.de on my laptop, then I cast it to my tv using a google chromecast.  It's free on that website. You only have to pay if you want to see the upcoming episodes that haven't been on tv yet.  The recent on TV eps are free too watch for a week after they've been on tv. It works pretty well.  You can even have subtitles now which you didn't used to be able to, which helps me with my german learning! 

I used to watch some of AWZ too, about 3 years ago when I understood a lot less,  but I don't really like it so much now. I preferred the old actress playing Marie, and it doesn't seem to have many interesting storylines at the moment. 

I don't remember her playing that part as I've not watched for long enough, but I do know 'Ooonagh' - I didn't realise she was originally known for being on GZSZ that's exciting that she'll be coming back!

What did people think of the 7000th episode?  I really enjoyed it, and managed to understand most of it! . I love the friendship between Katrin and Maren, and think Nina is great too. I'm not really very keen on Yvonne so enjoyed Katrin revealing secrets.  I thought the storyline was fun, but also thought the moment where Katrin was about to walk into the sea, but heard Maren scream as she fell down the cliff was really electric! 

I think this show does female friendships really well.  I really enjoyed the dynamic between Emily, Sophie and Jasmin as that was a big story when I started watching and hooked me in.

Long time lurker here, who is using my first post to say how much I enjoy this thread. 

A big thank you to Huntress and any other contributors - I have read your updates for a long time and enjoy them very much and really appreciate you posting them.  

I'm a german learner, who uses AWZ and GZSZ to practise my listening skills and I of course really enjoy them too, especially GZSZ.  Just wanted to post to say how good this thread is for information and to let you know people are reading!
