  1. Agree. I feel desperately sorry for everyone who voted for Kamala, for everyone who fought to stop this happening, for the Ukrainians who are about to be subjugated. For the people who memory holed everything that he did the last time and voted for him and gave him unchecked power as the kicker? Nah. Your undocumented friend gets rounded up and sent to an ICE facility? Your DOCUMENTED cousin gets rounded up and sent to the same facility? Your sister dies in a hospital car park because nobody will treat her because of the abortion ban? Sucks to be you. Cry about it in your journal. You deserve what you get.
  2. I......just can't. I'm Australian so I'm less affected but I actually feel like I'm going to be sick. What is wrong with people? They've put an that thing back in power after Dobbs, Jan 6, rape trials, Project 2025 and it's plans because they were scared of a black woman?
  3. I read that and my heart stopped. That can't be true, can it?
  4. 14 hours ago, DramatistDreamer said: This will not go well. 💜 Callie 💜 CallieSpeakz X/Twitter scraps feature letting users report misleading information X, the company formerly known as Twitter, has removed the ability for people to report a tweet as containing misleading information just weeks out from a referendum on an Indigenous voice to parlia... 12:32 AM - Sep 27, 2023 8 19 16 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== It's not a surprise that Musk is trying to tip the scales to a "No" vote. Unfortunately the Murdoch empire has come out so hard and relentlessly for a "No" that Musk is just bandwagoning at this point. The Government has whiffed it and the Right are probably going to win the referendum. I'm avoiding social media until the 14th of October so I don't have a rage stroke but I'm pretty livid at how this has gone and how it' probably is going to turn out.
  5. And to think I was so hopeful when I woke up this morning. Dems had taken the Senate. McConnell was suffering. Only 2 weeks to go until that rancid yam was gone. I knew the MAGAt rally was happening but I assumed the police would shut it down rather than, you know, open the frigging doors and let them in. And after all of that it looks like nothing is going to happen to Trump save for a few angry speeches and the resignation of the party planning committee. He needs to go. Not just for him but so the next facist down the road doesn't look at this and realise nobody reacts and they can do whatever they want.
  6. I agree. I hope I didn't sound like I was calling you out or correcting you. I just wanted to make the point that Murdoch has destroyed the press on three continents. And the bastard STILL won't die.
  7. Yeah, but we also have SkyNews which is just as corrosive as Fox (and owned by Murdoch). They are doing as much damage to Australia as Fox has done to the US and I hold them 50% responsible for the Libs winning last year. Thank God we are half way through their term. I envy America being so close to a (hopeful) course correction.
  8. It's Rasmussen. They polled Ben Carson, Diamond and Silk and Candace Owens. They are the only poll that Trump consistently retweets because they are the only poll that consistently puts him ahead. I don't know what will happen in November. But I do know that I'll be using paper copies of Rasmussen polls to wipe my ass when the apocalypse comes.
  9. No, I think you said something like it's not necessarily over for Biden and there is a chance that losses could be caught up. Which I reworked in my mind to "wait til Super Tuesday". As is my right as a low energy, low information person!
  10. So you were right. I imposed a bit of a social media blackout for the last month as it was too stressful but when the Super Tuesday results came in I broke it. I was watching it with a huge sense of relief and I turned to my husband and said "see! Khan was right!". Understandably, his next question was "who the hell is Khan?" I had to explain "oh, just someone on a message board who said wait until Super Tuesday". "Khan was right" has become a saying in my house when one of us says something nonsensical. So you now have Z level famousness in Tasmania!
  11. I don't have a complete grasp on the US election system (sorry guys, but the electoral college is nuts) but am I right in thinking Bernie has more or less got this sewn up after Nevada? I am hoping somebody is going to assure me that there is still life in the race because I cannot see any other outcome than the lying yam locking down the White House, Senate and probably the house if he's the nominee. People are stupid. That gets proven every effing day and they are going to pummel him for being a filthy commie and people are going to buy it. I'm so frigging disheartened.
  12. It's easy to be courageous when there are no consequences. Romney specialises in that. Utah isn't turning Blue. People there don't particularly like Trump. It was obvious that the Senate wasn't going to convict so he could display this act of "courage" when there was nothing at stake. If conviction came down to one Republican voting for it he would have done jack sh#t. He'd continue down the Jeff Flake path, periodically breaking out the fainting couch when Trump does something disgusting but voting with/supporting him 95% of the time. The man's a weather vane. So I'm with Kahn. He gets no credit from me.
  13. I agree. If I could vote in your election it would be Candidate AnyoneButTrump on election day. But looking at Twitter there are an awful lot of Bernie Bros who are adamant that if he's not the candidate they'll do a write in vote for an Inanimate Carbon Rod. I just don't get it. You've seen the damage Trump has done. You know he'll do more. And yet you're going to stuff around with these stupid purity tests? Eff em.
  14. At the very least he will obsess over it and it will eat at him and drive him to distraction. I'm a "small victories" person these days, what with the entire planet going to hell.
  15. Right? He's such a frigging embarrassment. I'm ashamed to say I thought we were smarter than the US (sorry guys!) and wouldn't re elect such grossly incompetent people. But here we are. And we can't even argue "low turn out".
  16. Thanks. I lurk here a lot because you all come up with really interesting links but I don't feel informed enough to post much. I've been on a media and news blackout because I'm so disheartened with the state of things. But some recent right wing f#ckwittery in Australia has got my blood boiling and I'm engaging again.
  17. Exactly. I don't give a crap about Barron. And neither does Trump.
  18. At least you guys have a chance at course correction. I'm Australian and just had to suffer through a 2016 type election. The presiding government failed at everything, polls told us they were DOA and then a massive fleet of half-wits got distracted by cash promises and we are stuck with the Coalition for another 3 years. Your day to right the ship is closer. Although, given how effing stupid people are... Also- hi! I've lurked for a long time and felt it was time to start posting as the election season is starting up. I want Trump driven from the White House disgraced, fat and humiliated. And possible naked.
