Finally, here is a good photo of Gail Brown (Clarice) from the AW Reunion.  I think she looks great!  This was posted in an AW Facebook group by a member named Larry Mann.

She looks amazing!  Thanks for posting.

Victoria will only reply to one person I know of in email. And, she has said that she is through with soaps. I don't know how much you are up on things, but VW has said that she was literally lost for about 7 years. She left CT & her precious horses & moved to California. It was through art that she found herself again. A new teacher & a new medium, watercolor. But, since then she's moved on to very large canvases & acrylics. So, in truth she HAS vanished.

I know nothing about David Forsyth.

I am happy to see Susan Keith was there. Has the organizer posted a list of the cast & crew who were in attendance?

  3. I decided I would watch GH for May sweeps before finally giving up on it. It has not been looking promising but I did not hate today’s episode.  Here is hoping we see some big improvements fast.

I would be more onboard for Heather’s redemption arc if Robin Mattson was playing her. Alley Mills is talented but it is not having the same impact it would with Robin. I also think it is in character for Laura to be part of this story.  If done properly we will get scheming Heather back and hopefully bonkers Heather is gone for good.  If Heather is sticking around at least they can write her true to character.

Absolutely.  Had Lemay remained as head writer, this would most definitely have happened eventually. Cory was a legacy character.

But no need for Robert to die, because Nick Coster was still living until about a year ago.

I wanted Robert Delaney (Nicolas Costner) back for a romance with Donna. Anna Stuart and Nicolas Coster’s chemistry wound have been off the charts!

I felt both Clarice and Nancy should have continued to  appear.  Clarice being quirkier, but with a down - to - earth motherly vibe the show needed after Ada and Constance Ford had passed. We had Sharlene, but she was messy. Nancy could have been a serious rival to straight laced Marly (or the good girl as opposed to Victoria)  in a Rachel vs. Alice type of rivalry.

I agree that Margaret DePriest writing out Clarice and Nancy was a huge blow.  Gail Brown and Jane Cameron were also unique and talented actresses.

Did anyone get an individual photo of Gail Brown.  I loved Clarice and Gail, when she was on AW.  I saw her in the back row of the group photo, but would love to see a better pic of her from the reunion.

I also loved Gail / Clarice.  I always felt she was just as important (and as interesting) to Another World as Iris and Rachel.

Someone mentioned there was a list of actor names to go along with the group photo from the reunion.  I'm trying to get someone to post the list here.  I mean a list of names showing who is who in the group photo.  Maybe the list doesn't exist, but someone mentioned it.

There is a list of the actors who were scheduled to attend. I have not yet seen a list of those who did attend and matched to the photo.  I am sure one will surface soon.

To Anna Stewart's right is the actress who played Lee Randolph (her name escapes me right now).  I don't recognize the woman behind Anna.  To the far right of the photo appears to be Anita Gillette, and Chris Marcantal (misspelled, I'm sure) who played Anita's son on AW.

Barbara Rodell played Lee. Thank you.  I recognized Anita Gilllette (Loretta Shea) and Christopher Marcantel (Pete Shea).

There is an error. THIS is Marcia McCabe.

Yes that looks like her. I do not see her in the group photo. The woman who you previously identified as Marcia McCabe may be Nadine Stenovitch.

Yes, that is Gail.  Leonie is in front of her with the dark curly hair. The woman with blonde hair is Judith Barroft.   Is hope someone took individual photos of each returning actor. i'd love to see those.

Do you know who the lady behind Anna Stuart is as well as the lady to Anna Stuart’s right?

Larkin Douglass Watson III (February 24, 1921 — May 1, 1989) was an American actor. He was best known for his portrayal of Mac Cory on the daytime soap opera Another World.

On May 1st, 1989, Doug Watson got off a plane & went to a dude ranch for a week of R&R. The first thing he did was join an exercise class & then dropped dead of a massive heart attack.

AW was all set to celebrate Cory Publishing anniversary, all about his character, Mac Cory. There went 18 months of story.

I'm signed up for it, paid & gotten an email confirmation. A GH fan told me today she just signed up for it yesterday & got an email confirmation. Let me look.

She moved it! Below the drop down! See. (Weird.) Try that. Report back! If that's not it, I will email her. She responds to me almost instantly!

Thanks Donna. It still requires a drop down choice. If you could reach out to her I would appreciate it.

Hi Donna.  Do you know if the $45 option has been removed?  I do not see it in the drop down choices.

OK My 2 cent about mid 80's AW

-Commit to the Love and McKinnon families. Bring back Ben to mix it up with Marley/Vicky/Jake. No hooker story for MJ. No Cheryl.

    - Kathleen not killed off, simply breaks up with Cass offscreen. He returns alone and later a recast Kathleen or Julie Osburn returns,

    - A better telling of the Reg/Mary story, if at all.

    -Philece Sampler as Nicole,not Donna

    - Strengthen the Corys. Laurence Lau as Dennis. Try to get Bekins back as Jamie, a writer. Bring on Pam, Rachel's half sister. Nancy comes back.

    - Have  the Matthews have some presence. Liz ,her grandson Ricky, Mike Randolph, Russ w/a daughter.

-Keep Zane around for longer before the inevitable death.

    -No Mitch/Felicia. Maybe Mitch/Pam?

-Keep Maisie and have her marry Vince as a  new tentpole couple.

-Build a family around Quinn by having Thom return, divorced. Have quinnget involved with a divorced/widowed father of teen kids.

No need for Paulina, Cali Timmons and Judi Evans could be other characters.

    Great ideas Paul!

I think they thought Amanda was taking up that space and Nancy would be superfluous, especially after Paulina was introduced. But I think there could have been room for Nancy as well if Amanda had had a properly defined character.

I also wish that Sandy had showed up at some point. It would have made sense after Mac's death and people fighting for control of Cory -- and given his history with Carl.

Mary was successful in spite of the writing and in my Reginald-free version Denise Alexander could have been just as good as a different character. Brittany was not successful IMO and she dragged Catlin down with her. There were probably other options for Sharon Gabet that would have been infinitely better.

Reuben who was friends with Josie (introduced as Mary's social work client Pilara's possibly abusive boyfriend; they accidentally burned down Mary's Place IIRC). Ronnie a nurse and nightclub singer who dated Zack Edwards. And a younger brother whose name I forget who was a good student.

The younger brother was Jesse played by Dondre T Whitfield. Dondre went on to some success at All My Children.

Oh yes. Garin Wolf & Sally Altman (co-head) introduced TJ on January 17; bulk of story, however, definitely came under the "writer," though, when his regime began on February 21. The casting swap from Meyers to Richmond happened in July / August 2012.

Oh, Morgan is definitely Avery's father, without a shadow of a doubt. As for Michael... I'd love to see Robert Adamson come back (he was my main choice of recast pre-pinch-hitting).

He was introduced in November of 1989, yes. However, Tommy graduated from medical school in 2013 (per Elizabeth's own admission), which would have put him at age 26 at said-time, had he spent four years in medical school. And if we're re-matching introduction years, Tommy was introduced the same year as Lucas Jones, whose "birth" year was re-established as 1987 in 2005. The slight SORAS wouldn't be that much of a stretch, especially in casting.

The point of my original post was to use he actual age to reduce the age gap with Trina a bit. That is why I said 34.

Who can explain to me how he messed up so badly with GL's "3 Carries"?

It is pretty simple Donna. He wanted to end the story and get rid of Jane Eliott.  There could have been many reasons for his thinking.  That one decision does not negate how successful he was at GL.

Totally agree about them, but Executive Producer Allen Potter was there as well at this time.  Potter cleaned up the mess that Paul Rauch left rather quickly in 1983.

Yes they did come up with Carolyn the Gorilla in the summer of 1984, but it was this situation that first paired Felicia with Wallingford.  Wallingford was introduced as an informant for Cecile, Cass, and Felicia as they investigated David Thatcher’s murder.  I suspect TPTB thought it was cute to revisit Carolyn during the last week of the show as a salute to Cass and Felicia’s capers with Wallingford.  I didn’t mind it, but the time they wasted in the last episode could have gone to Rachel having some flashbacks of past characters in the final scene of the series.

Without a doubt Allen Potter was a significant part of the success of the period.
