first of all... *waves to TL and REMOS* now down to business: For whoever was asking (I don't remember, sorry) I found a site for converting videos for the ipod!! I know, I'm a hero and all that, I heard it from my sister already (actually it was a bit of an ego boost). I downloaded it and it 's free and works great. I've finished converting most of my files already, but I tested it on one of them and it definately plays on my ipod now. here's the site for ya: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

Hey guys, I know it's been a little while, but life's been busy. Not much to say on the show I guess since she wasn't on in the last few days, but I though tof a song when I was reading your posts. It's Love Will Come To You by the indigo girls. Great song and I was listening to it on my ipod the other day and thought it would be a good tracy song. Not so much a couple thing, but it could be her with all her men

*waves to REMOS* Welcome Remos. I've seen you in here for a while, thought I welcomed you already but probably not, so I'm doing it now after your official intro!! I loved the few scenes I saw today! They were fantastic, but I only got 1/2 through the second one before I lost the tape. Hope someone can post later, but I definately loved our girl today. She's great always, but never more perfect than when she is clearly hurt.

The wedding was great, thanks for asking! It was a lot more laid back than I thought it would have been. My 2 little cousins were the ring barrers. One ran up to his dad during his reading and sat in his mom's arms before that saying 'why do we have to be quiet? Why do we have to be quiet mommy?" over and over again. The other was laying in the pew lokking bored and threw the ring pillow up at the bride (in fun, not in brattiness, he's little) but it made it a lot of fun. My sister and I couldn't stop laughing through most of it, but oh well!! Anyway, aside from having to dance with my cousin over way too many times I had a great time and I met some new cousins that are pretty cool (they're about 158 but they are a hoot and a half). Then there's my cousin Lori. I haven't seen her in years, but she's a damned riot!! She's so Staten Island, but she's hysterical. I have to load all my pictures, but here is one for now. It's kind of crappy and fuzzy but I'm the one on the right in the wine colored dress. http://www.sendspace.com/file/gduvai I'll post s few good ones later but oh well. You guys are offically the first (with the exception of the people there) who have every seen me in a dressy dress. And it'll never happen again, let me say that! Oh well, looking forward to the show tomorrow. As for Friday, I'm with MinervaFan. I didn't think it was that great (though I did like the 'it's a wig, genius!" line). I don't know if I've seen the whoel show b/c we had an interruption, but the two scenes I saw were a little bit pitiful. Tomorrow looks like it'll be fabulous though! Anyway, goodnight all!!

No, thank God!!! My uncle had one like that a few years back. Well he was supposed to but they canceled it a week before the date. My aunt's getting married on Saturday in that a.m. so I have to be up early to get my hair done at 6 so we can all be ready to go and be at my granmother's house at 7 before we go to the wedding. I just have everyone staying at my house. We are the only house with kids besides my 2 little cousins in Cali so they stay with us. Same reason is why my 4 cousins from Jersey are staying with us too, though at least the two kids there are my age. My aunt in Cali is married to my mom's brother so her parents need a place to stay... here (as much as I love them they are a bit inconvenient)... it's a good thing my mother taught us what my grandfather taught her, it doesn't matter if you're sleeping on a rock or a crumpled up tee-shirt if it means your family has a bed. I just always end up the first one on the floor, my sisters just share. So no long week of events, just a sleepless/ noise filled one plus I still have to go to work early in the mornings. When I said I hate events, I meant events in general. I am not a big/ over the top kind of girl and my aunt incredibly is so it's not really my thing. I mean, I'm certainly happy for her and I love her but I hate having to stand in front of people for anything. I turn 10 shades of red and my heart races. The only thing that made me do it was that she told us she wasn't going to have a wedding if we weren't all going to be in it (nothing like that kind of pressure) and my only other option was to do a reading which would, sadly, put me smack dab in the middle of a crowd so that was out. It's all good. I use my little cousins as my plan B. Anytime I want to avoid things like dancing I go on babysitting duty which my aunt will always take advantage of so it works for me. Anyway- the west coast crowd is due to arrive any minute so I'll talk to you all when I can. night all!! HAPPY 4th OF JULY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

Welcome, Colette! Whoa, much love to the 'Newbies'!! Welcome also to Inyron and Kslater! sorry to anyone I left out I can't belive we have so many new people on here, it's becoming quite the party town. Online, still waiting to hear from my teach, obviously not going to be watching Tracy today, so oh well. I have 18 people in my house for at least a week for my aunt's wedding so I don't know how much I'll be on. Pray for me because I'll want to kill a whole lot of people before the week's end. Good lord, 2 cousins under 5, an aunt and uncle, 4 grown cousins, aunt's parents, the 6 of us in my house, and my aunt's new step-daughter. Oh man! Plus my shoes have had to be dyed twice because they came in different colors (from each other, not even from the dress) and then the second time they came in the wrong color all together. We have 3 days till the wedding and these people don't know how to dye a damned shoe. Good news is it'll be over and I won't have to wear this dress again. I hate events... this one is taking the cake. My aunt is such a bridezilla

So yeah. Tracy and GH as such....not so in the mood right now. But she still rocks. I'm sending everything their way, ILTQ. I have a great aunt that the same thing happened to years ago. She lost her husband and all 7 of her kids in a fire. I'll be praying for 'em

Well thank you for jumping to my defense on that one, but it isn't a teacher. The long project that I posted here was supposed to be posted on our class website. The students all have to post a response to it once it's done. I am still waiting to hear from the professor. (This teacher is really cool, though, so I'm hoping for no problems). The only propblem I've actually had with a teacher was the class from last summer, but I have a grade now and it's an A- so I could care less about that one. Thanks again!!!

I second that, I'm kind of curious too. Hooked, I haven't had a chance to comment on your story yet, but I read it last night and I think it's amazing! Let me tell ya, they're getting better and better! I really enjoyed the end when she talks about him atually doing what she wanted him to do. For all who don't have any idea what means, sorry, but I didn't want to spoil anything for those who haven't read it, so go do it! It's great, you should all go read it right now It's Wednesday... I hoping for great things!

Ok, thanks. I thought if I said that it would be sounding a bit too pissed about the insults and like I thought I was too good for critisism or whatever, but that's pretty much what I thoguht. I liked all the nice things he said, however he was trying to build himself up, but there was no need to call me lazy.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Since there is no JE on lately I have nothing to talk about at all, so I thought I'd give the update for my writing class. This is the last response I got. It is the last one until I get something from the professor which I am supposed to be getting tonight. It is easily the best and also the nastiest one of the bunch. Everything he complimented he was great about, but when he didn't like it he was nasty. He really probably wasn't, but since it's mine I am more sensative to it. It thinks it's because he called me lazy that I am annoyed with him, but I don't think he meant it in a areally mean way, more that it didn't live up to the rest of the story, but who knows This is a story about a romantic disconnect and about the background of an angst-riddled woman and the innerworkings of her mind. The story cleverly encompasses a meaningful arc within the main character's life through the use of flashback. During the present, the character sits on a dock and ponders about her inability to woo a man with whom she has become friends. In the past, through flashback and memory, we learn more not just about their relationship, but about the woman's life as well. Kristin is what I would call a lyrical writer. Her word seletion is often appropriate and deliberate. Morever, she wastes no time in creating an interesting scenario and drawing the reader into her world of fiction. This is done in the first sentence, where we see the story has already begun and a key event in the story's timeline has transpired two weeks ago. My feelings toward Kristin's decision to omit names for the two main characters are ambivalent. Generally, I think it's a clever technique. She clearly had to go out of her way to not use any names. Moreover, the lack of character naming introduces some nice themes - by omitting names, she's saying these characters could be anyone, allowing the reader to fill his or her own persona into the shoes of the characters. Yet, this technique works better in theory than in practice. At points during the story, I was terribly confused distinguishing descriptions of the main character from those of the other woman the unnamed male planned to take out on a date. Furthermore, this story is designed to invoke empathy for the main character - leaving her nameless creates something of a barrier between her and the reader that prevents the reader from making a true connection with her. Personally, more intimate details, like her name and more of her background, would have helped invoke sympathy from me. In regards to the story itself, I thought it was intelligent and well planned. This is what I would call a "sloppy" story - I use this description in the sense that there was no clean, neat beginning and end. In this way, Kristin mirrors real life, where clear cut chapters, introductions, and conclusions rarely exist. She really did a great job with creating a small piece in the life of her main character. She provided just enough to get us interested, and then left us wanting more. Also, I found the concluding sentences to be incredibly strong. As previously stated, Kristin is lyrical in her writing. I cite the following sentence to support this claim: "She'd had st age fright since her beauty pageant when she was four. It was all she could do to stop her heart from racing and her face from turning ten shades of red." Not only is this sentence vividly descriptive, but it's also a effective in building the main character's background. Another great example of her wonderful writing can be found on page 8: "Just as surely as if it had never faltered in the first place, her practically inaudible voice returned to its usual luster and tone." Truly, Kristin knows how to paint a picture with words. Yet, for all Kristin's beautiful writing, she often resorts to the use of idioms. Throughout her story exist such expressions as "on the money," "for all intents and purposes," and so on. I think this was lazy on Kristin's part - for someone who has a command over the English language like she does, using such commonly used expressions is just too easy of a way out. The mention of the main character's sons on page 5 came as a true shock. If this was the intended effect, Kristin did it masterfully. If not, I think she should give more attention to physical details to the main character earlier on in the story. Exactly how old is she? Is she weathered and world-weary? Young and exuberant? I believe these details would have helped. Some other minor issues: Pages 4 and 5 focus far too much on the main character's inner thoughts. Moving between the action taking place in the real world and the thoughts occuring in her mind is a good way to keep us rooted in the action of the story. Focusing for too long on the present or the past takes away a much needed balance for this kind of story. Another issue I had with the story is the oscillating objectivity of the narrative voice. For most of the story, the narrative is objected and removed from the action at hand. Yet, in rare instances, the narrator will present a viewpoint, as seen when Kristin writes "if you are going to take a person dancing, it would probably be a good idea to know how yourself," on page 2. All in all, this is a good story. It creates tension, is well written, introduces important themes, and delivers solid emotional impact. I believe Kristin has done exceedingly well with this effort. For those who asked I'll let you know what I hear from teach. Lady A, thanks so much for posting those ST clips. Just downloaded them and I can't wait to watch. Later guys!!

Oh man, what a great show that was! I'm so mad I missed watching it on TV, but I have it nwo so oh well! First of all, and clearly most importanly... she looked great. In my opinion anyway. I think her hair looked fantastic, by the way. I don't think it was oomphless at all. It wasn't as big as it has been in the past, but it wasn't flat, it was shiny and bouncy and beautiful! And it's getting a little longer, so it's great. I thought she looked great otherwise, too. The makeup was flawless, the clothes were great and she looked thin and energetic and fabulous. As for the scenes... I loved 'em. She had such great facial expressions and we got a lot out of her. Don'd fret guys, I don't think she's done with shadybrook yet. First of all, we didn't get the scene with Alan where she looked like she was going to cry, though we all know it was very likely cut. We also don't see anything about them letting her out. It may have been in scenes that were edited out of our clips, but last we saw, she looked upset and like she has been beaten (not possible) and we saw Edward talking to lainey about keeping her there and 'helping' her. She still needs Dillon to get her out somehow and since the spoiler say that Lulu is her only ally that's not likely. I don't think the story will last too long, but I think we will get a bit more out of it. It could always be one of those really long stories that took place off screen over a week and a half of tracyless episodes, but I'm holding out for good things! Who's with me?! Now raise your right hands, all together now... I am (insert name here) and I truly believe that Tracy/Jane will absolutely get a great storyline and a lot of screen time to play it. *waves to angel* and Minervafan I loved this last story about her first night in shadybrook. I only wish there was some way to be able to put that on screen. It's one of those scenes you know you want to see and would be fabulous as a part of something real, but with no dialogue it would be near impossible not to change, which truly sucks b/c it's great, even for a short piece. Not that it shouldn't be b/c it's short, I just usualy like the longer ones more

so guess who got kicked out again! Sorry guys. Didn't mean to be rude and just skip out on you, but nothing I can do. Had a good couple of minutes, though. Good night all!

so this class fro last summer, the one that completely screwed me over... yeah, the dean's office called today to tell me that my grade change form was "being walked down right now" (big damned deal right?) I just checked my transcripts... A- baby!! Damned skippy I got an A-! How much easier this woman's life would have been if she'd just done my grade last year instead of jerkin' me around for so long. Oh well. My mom has called the Governer's office in RI and she found out that this is a habitual thing with this teacher. So she annually screws kids out of their grades while the school takes our money, fantastic. She's been sentured and is quite possibly losing her job, though not likely since she's been doing it this long and they don't seem to care (send your kids running if they want to go to URI b/c they don't know their a$$ from their elbow in administration). As bad as I feel about that she is unfit to teach anyone so she belongs out of the school symstems... and I now have my grade, so lots of luck to her but I'm done!!!! Any clips by any chance? pretty please with sugar on top?

for Hooked and BSG and for whoever else read my story for me and has asked... this is the first response: Kristin, Your story is really great. It is creative and I enjoy how you have such a good sense of giving a character's viewpoint throughout the whole story and making it seem very coesive. The character is not very complex, you have such a good idea of who she is and who she wants to be at the same time. Sometimes when writers try to make characters complex, you lose out on learning who they really are. By the middle of the story, I really felt I knew who she was. I think your dialogue was flawless and drew in the reader because it had such good conversations between the two, it made it seem like I was reading a real life conversation between two people. I like how you described Italy and the also you had great settings in the story. This also gave me a great idea of who the character was because of her interests of travel. Also, at the beginning of the story when you described how she spent her days, that was a great insight into learning about her without blatantly describing her life and interests. At first, you think these two people are opposites with the dance scene. This scene was crucial to the story and you did a great job with it. I love that you made one of the two characters somewhat clumsy with the dancing because it added some comedy to the story, even though I would classify this story as a "slice of life," it has some comedic as well as dramatic, intriguing parts. I'm pretty happy with that! Happy belated ILTQ! I'm so sorry we missed it. sidenote: does anyone have the clips for today? I know they'll be up later, but I thgouth I'd ask just in case. My VCR is on the wrong time again. Once a month it just decides to change its time on its own, which sucks for me. But it happens for about a week (always a great TQ week too!!) and it sets itself back no matter how many times I change it. I guess I need to get it fixed cuz it's driving me crazy

Oh My GOd, Deb, I love that site. I hate that I am having this much fun with it b/c A) I'll eventually run out of pics to use, and I'm now hooked!!! I just went through all the pics in my portfolio with it. Too fun!! I just realized that I'm a very sad little person to have that much fun with it

I am trying it on my pic of JE that I drew. Just want to see what it looks like... thanks for posting the link! I'll try to get on as much as I can, which actually may be a lot b/c I am on the computer waiting for things in my class. I see no responses yet and the other girl that was supposed to post her story the same day as me hasn't doneit. I checked the calender so I know I have the right day, but I can't post anything about her's till she puts it up (tick tock tick tock, I only have until Thursday to write a response so I need her story). Slackers... no, really, I don't mean that. I know sometimes things get in the way, but now her stuff is effecting my work, so it's frustrating!!! Ok, vent over. Anyway, I'll probably be on plenty, so if anyone wants to talk tonight, more likely than not, I'll be here. edit: I know I'm normally positive, though I know it's been questionable lately, but I don't turst that the writers would bring Brooklyn back well. It would be fantastic, I'll give you that, but she's a teen and they would give her some rediculous teen storyline. She'd either be best friends with, or more likely, enemies with Lulu and yet we'd never see her on screen with a Quartermaine. Cuz why would anyone want to see her with her family (or even see her family at all, as in most times)??! As for those articles above: Very sweet, the the second one is TOO too cute!! She's just so damned adorable.

Hooked, I'm so sorry about your grandmother. My great grandmother was like that for me and, while it may not always be a tragic thing (like you said), it is always sad for the people who lose them. I'm thinking of you all and you're in my prayers. Ms Q, Thanks for remembering me!! I'm loving the class. I'm keeping myself ahead of the work, which is actually messing me up b/c I thnk they are due soon and it turns out I have another week, so I've driven myself crazy for nothing, but it's all fun work. Sorry you'r class is a pain in the arse, but everything else seems to be going well. Glad to here Acapulco was fun, aside from prices and humidity. Angel, sorry about your grandmother, but have a great time with her!!

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Very nice story!! I liked it a lot, though I was confused b/c I thought you said that it WAS a trash story. Much to my disappointment it wasn't. I', only disappointed b/c I thought it was, but i loved it in its own right. I just have to read the thread posts closer I guess. Sorry, I can't help you with uploading a clip from a dvd. I still haven't figured it out. I'd love to be able to do it too, but I can't help you. Minerva, I don't know if I posted anything about you story, but in case I didn't, I loved that one. It's nothing that I expected, though I don't know why b/c you usually can surprise me no matter what it is, which is a great thing. BSG, since you asked earlier, Sunday is offially over in 24 minutes (well, here anyway), so I should be getting responses soon. I'll let you know how I make out. As for GF and the emmy: I know I've been getting mean about her lately (I apologize, but I'm getting frustrated with her being there and not being there at the same time thing that the writers have going on), but my oppinion is that no one, I don't care who it is, should get a nom if they are only on for 1 month out of around 4 or 5 years. If it were the regular Emmy's wouldn't it be a guest starring nom and not a supporting? How fair is that to the people who do this for a living? She has a totally different life and job on the East coast and she goes back for an anniversary special and gets a nomination. And Hooked, the line I didn't like in that article was the one from Geary when he said that her return is long over due. In other things I've read he has said he'd like to leave the past in the past and that he likes where it is going now. Does he think that they can bring her back without having them together? Even if the writers woud break them up they would have to end lunacy when she comes back b/c right now she still believes that she is married to Luke. Then if he'd go along with whatever she wants, even though he's in love with Tracy, and then have to end their realtionship. Which, by the way, how would they do that? He would have to end it and he won't want to do anything that may hurt her b/c he has to protect his angel and she certainly wouldn't end it b/c if can forgive him for raping her she can let anything go. Ok, sorry guys. I'm just thinking things out in print I guess, but if anyone has an idea.... hey, could be a good bunny! hint hint to anyone with time. Ok, goodnight guys! Edit: *waves at Pinkpopcicle*

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
I don't know yet. I have to check in later to see if anyone read it and posted their responses. It turns out I didn't have to post it till today. I thought it was the 15th and I would have had to post early so it was up onTuesday or Wednesday night, so I've been waiting a while. This only means that no one will have checked the site until today, so I should find out soon what everyone thought. I won't hear from the prof until all the students post. Thanks so much for the feedback though. That was exactly what I needed to hear. I told you I took the story from part of the book I was writing so all the stuff you mentioned had already been developed and I knew al the background and banter and everything else about the relatinship, so I didn't even see that it wasn't there in the scene. I changed some things around and fixed everything I could. You don't have to read it if you don't want to but I'll send you the revised copy when I get on the house computer later. Thanks again to everyone who helped me with this!!

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Well it doesn't neccessarily mean that she is having an extramarital affair, right? Maybe it can be a story about her and Luke's affair. Or when he comes back they can somehow start again like they are a brand new couple and starting a torrid love affair. Ya never know... just my suggestion
-
The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
I definately noticed! He doesn't need to worry about anyone's approval anymore, hint hint *edward*. He doesn't have to impress anybody or worry about how what his opinion will effect his standing in anything, so he can say what he really feels. It's fantastic!! Next, I love the stories, Deb. I haven't had a chance to comment at all, but they're great! Picture-wise- that one was beauitful, but I'm partial to when she looked up at the cop out of the corner of her eyes. He looked like she was daring him but was stunning too. Did anyone notice that they didn't retape the beginning of the show yesterday? I guess you can't top perfection... or her look, so they kept it all
