  1. I gotta say that 1995 Christmas had some awkward moments. Roger inviting Hart over with Dinah there and Hart coming over to give Peter a present. Actually both awkward moments had to do with Hart. But I loved the clips of Bert/Charita Bauer and Ed looking at them about to tear up and Michelle saying "I love you, Dad" afterwards.

I might be wrong for saying this but the part where Josh is saying "WALK DAMMIT" makes me laugh. I know you are suppose to feel his frustration but that came off as hammy more than anything. But after that with Bert talking to him was so touching.

  2. WOW! That was awesome! Even the bad last theme was good in their version. I always loved the theme from 2003-2005 (which I think is titled True Light.) It's a shame that the graphics sucked because that theme could have worked. I know it's not as amazing as Hold On To Love, the short-lived 2002 opening and the 2005-2008 (technically it lasted that long since it was still used during the hairy arms era.)

I want to watch the 1995 christmas special with the clips of past GL moments. I love it so much. I think it aired as a classic episode at least 2 times it was so good.

  3. LOL! I prefer AMC's Jonathan to GL's Jonathan personally. Mostly because Jeff Branson hugged me at an event (I didn't ask for it.)

I watch starting in 1996 and the Dolly storyline was conveniently placed during the time I was at school so I didn't watch. I know Reva and Annie were heavily featured at that point. I love Cynthia Watros and basically followed her career after leaving GL (sans Lost.) I love the music at that point and the sets were amazing. I even loved when they included the theme song as an underscore. I be happy if I hear the GL underscore from that time period again. I could just look on YouTube for an episode. Jenna's death made me cry like a baby but I didn't know her back story or anything other than her being Buzz's wife at the time. I do remember Rebecca Budig as Michelle (before she was a big deal) and loved her chemistry with the guy playing Jesse Blue. So much so that when Joie Lenz took over I didn't want to believe that Danny and Michelle were a couple until Lenz's Michelle and Jesse were together and was like....yeah I am Team Manny.

I actually was a loyal fan even through the horrible times (and there were many.) I loved when David K. first wrote for the show and got really upset when it started sucking (i think Wheeler's input was a factor.) I also HATED how much Cassie changed when Laura Wright left the role and also loved the fact that she left because of the fact that she couldn't see Cassie stealing Josh from Reva (even though she did once before almost but that was because of Annie and she didn't know they were related...I think.) Though I had to admit when Josh and Cassie kissed in the water, that was hot. But if I wrote the show, it would have stayed that way and not evolve into a relationship just a forbidden kiss that Reva finds out about. I would have had Reva still get breast cancer but have that be a way to get Josh and Reva back together. Cassie would have been out of town ousted by Reva when she finds out about the kiss. But that's just my thoughts.

  4. And not sure if anybody sees this persons channel but Spauldingfield's channel is a well done channel with character profiles every month. It includes characters like Bridget Reardon, Gus Aitoro, and Alexandra Spaulding (the Beverlee McKinsley Years). Thought giving the characters a label is kind of cheesy to me, its very well done for viewers who want to relive this show: http://www.youtube.com/user/Spauldingfield/videos

  5. I may be in the minority but I like Nancy St. Alban as Michelle. I also LOVE Bethany Joy Lenz as Michelle but for a replacement Michelle, she held her own...except when she acted like a teenager. I did like the initial first few weeks of the amnesia storyline because her reaction to people saying she was this pillar in the town and all was a more realistic approach than the "help me, I can't remember." She was very angry that she couldn't remember and people had this opinion of her that she wishes she could remember. St. Alban played that well. This is in contrast to the Jack amnesia storyline playing at ATWT at the same time. It was more of a traditional amnesia storyline where he is whisked away and recovering and being like "I remember this song (which turned out to be CarJack's song during their wedding) but I am a poor nameless man who can't remember anything. " But Michelle's amnesia storyline was horrible after the first few weeks. And I think it lasted for a while, which made it 10x's worst. It was forever of "I am a raging amnesiac who acts like a teenager and screws my husband's brother because I can." And let's not forget this in that opening: http://youtu.be/reTDzhFtuIc
  6. Yea no, I remember watching pretty much every day from about 1993 on and the theme IS a bit different in the second section. More strings etc. May have been the quality of the recording that caused some of that to be subdued, but you're absolutely right. There is a marked difference.

First: I love that picture of Bob Barker! I miss him even though I love Drew Carey as host.

Second: I actually remember now when CBS aired Beth and Phillip's wedding as a classic they used this end theme. I will find it on youtube since I am sure somebody posted it.

  7. This question has been bugging me for years about Beth and Lorelai. I tried asking it on SoapCity but the people on that board listened to the the Lord and Master and not continuity...I hated that board. Sorry for venting:

I swore that the time between Beth drowning and Lorelai writing the diary and arriving in Springfield was a big time confusion. Wasn't it only a few weeks between Beth's drowning and Lorelai's appearance in Springfield. If that were the case, how could Lorelai write a journal that was supposedly months between the drowning when it was only a few weeks? Am I missing something or was the diary Beth's inner Lorelai coming out because of the abuse (which if I remember correctly, the writers for the show at that time weren't smart enough to possibly pull off.) BTW: Who WAS writing the show at that time? Was it pre-Conboy/Weston era?

  8. This is my inner WoST coming out but is it just me or is the theme slightly different. I swear in later versions (not the remix) there is more instruments after the first section. I never heard this version.

Also its a nice touch that Roger is smiling. Though I love the picture of him looking towards the camera that I can still picture to this day.

  9. I remember, Jade Harlow had Pink Eye. According to IMDB Michelle filled in 2002.

That part I didn't know. I do remember trying to tune into Passions at that time but I seem to fear the ominous voice that replaces an actor so I turned to ABC (the NBC affiliate actually aired Passions an hour earlier at the time so I think I watched All My Children or part of Y&R.) Nothing against the actor replacing the other actor but that voice creeps me out even when Y&R does it with the actors (like Doug Davidson and Christian LeBlanc.) I think Days is the only soap that doesn't have "the recast voice."

  10. I should look for episodes of early Passions on youtube. I am pretty sure I found a channel that had most of early Passions. I always loved the music in the beginning and no matter how bad it was, it was entertaining. I give Passions that credit.

  11. It's strange. I remember this episode on WoST and remember the fact that Genie wasn't credited as Ciara (a crossover character from AMC.) I think this episode was taped from O&O WPVI/6ABC in Philadelphia. I remember WPVI getting rid of announcer cues and play on soaps the full version of the theme. As a kid watching Saturday Morning cartoons, they would play that annoyingly catchy "All The Kids Are Saying Watch A. B. C." I miss the days of closing credits.

  12. I had forgotten that there was a 1991 version. I have never seen that version of the show but saw the opening on WoST. I know that there was suppose to be a 2004 version with Alexis Thrope (ex-Cassie, DAYS) but it never aired. It would have been nice to see a DS series reboot.

I also heard there is suppose to be a comic version of DS: http://www.newsarama...ite-110822.html

Unlike Guiding Light, its more realistic for the soap to be in comic form.

  13. Wasnt there also an actress character named Skye Spring & her & Megan sang the opening to the award show Faternity Row was up for?

SoapNet's So You Wanna Be a Soap Star Turned Down ATWT's Van Hansis (Luke). Hansis told SOD once that he was lined up with the other guys and told to remove shirts and was sent home for not being Buff

Ha Ha best revenge is 3 Emmy Nods

    Best revenge ever!

  14. I showed the posted Bryan Crantson episode to my best friend who normally doesn't watch soap operas. She was pretty much hooked. When Agnes Nixon is good she is exceptionally good. I always wanted the show to come on SOAPnet. I am still intrigued about who was the heroine hooked on cough syrup. Was it Ava? Tricia? Stacey?

  15. I loved the early coupling of Shuis. I would never understood why he left her when their son just up and died (presumably) and the nice convince of Antonio coming back in the final episodes? WHUT?!?

  16. Ah sorry to post so much.

I just wanted to ask what did you all think of Simone's lesbian storyline?

Personally, I am on the fence about it. It would have been more of a logical move to make her bisexual (but this is JER were talking about, is there logic?) seeing as she was pining after Chad in the early episodes. I did like Cathy Doe's acting so it sort of saved it a bit for me.
