You know I've always found it amusing that Maggie had to be hypnotized into forgetting she was a victim of Barnabas, but once Carolyn was released from his thrall--after the Adam experiment--she just forgot the whole thing. lol It was never mentioned again. David seemed to forget all about Barnabas' "secret" as well. The Dave Woodard/terrorizing of Julia plots weren't mentioned again either after B & J became friends during the Adam storyline. And Barn went from wanting to kill David to tripping through time countless times to save him.

Jonathan Frid always gets kicked around as the worst line flubber on DS, but after re-watching the early episodes, Mitch Ryan was just as bad, if not worse, than Frid ever was. lol. But what would DS be without it's bloopers.

I love Grayson Hall and Julia. She and Barnabas were the reasons I watched the show both then and now. I can never get enough of their scenes. Victoria, I think, was a much more interesting character in the early pre-Barnabas episodes. She was dumbed down a lot later on. The same can be said for Maggie, as well. It was a shame they dropped the whole story arc about Vicki's search for her birth parents. The hints were very broad in the beginning that she would be Elizabeth's daughter, but then they veered off into other stories and never picked it back up.

When I was a kid, I waffled back and forth, but re-watching the show as an adult I would definitely have to say Team Barnabas. That rich baritone voice and dark sad eyes win out over blue eyes and sideburns.

I didn't mind Betsy Durkin all that much. My main problem with her was purely superficial and was that she came across to me as even younger than Alexandra Moltke (though I believe they were roughly the same age). In that one scene where Barnabas proposes to Vicki after Jeff Clark disappears, I am so glad he doesn't touch her or even stand close because I get this very strong Chester the Molester vibe. "Let me take care of you." lol I think when a character is strongly identified with one actor, it's always a shock when somebody else is suddenly there. I've always wondered--if Alexandra Moltke left because of her pregnancy--why didn't they have time to write Vicki out with AM in the role? It must have been a sudden decision on Moltke's part.

I was hoping that myself when I first saw Barbara Steele's name listed in the cast for the audio drama. I wasn't a big fan of the 1991 revival overall, but I would like to see the character of Julia continued. She was my favorite of the original DS ladies.
