When Robin Strasser left AW the first time, AW asked Karen Lynn Gorney to replace her. Karen said she was happy at AMC. AW hired Margie Impert instead.

Sounds like a bad move on KLG's part. Maybe if she said yes, she'd still have a career, or at least would have had one until 1999.

A little off topic, but does anyone remember those soap chapter books they used to publish in the 80s? I remember they were all CBS and NBC soaps. I used to have so many of GL, ATWT and Y&R. I think they even made them for Capitol.

Of those, it would have been so interesting to see what India's story could have become had they had tied down Mary Kay Adams. Why was she always so hesitant to stay on long-term?

I never knew MKA wouldn't stay with the show long term. India was always one of my favorite characters. She was so complex and multidimensional. I would have loved for her daughter to come to Springfield and more of the von Halkein family explored. Does anyone know why she wouldn't stay on with a long term contract?
