MAJOR 'DAYS' STAR OUT!

The blog can now reveal the name of the big name who has recently been let go! The star is Bryan Dattilo who has played Lucas Roberts since 1993 with the exception of a brief period from 2001-2002. There's one question on everyone's mind - Why Dattilo? The headwriter dishes on why. "Well, it actually has nothing to do with Dattillo, and everything to do with Sami and Lucas. They are a big couple, but when it comes down to it, as Lucas said in his goodbye speech to Sami, he'll never be able to love the real Sami, and she might mature, but she's never going to be a saint. At the core of who each is, they're just not right for each other. Lucas and Sami will always have a connection, but Sami will be getting a new love interest. It is definitely a person who can love her for who she is WITHOUT changing her. And that is something no man in Sami's life has ever been able to do."

Josh Taylor (Roman Brady) has also last aired. Although no exit has been penned for him, his exit will be explained this week. "Josh was recurring and brought back Roman to tie up some loose ends. The run was always supposed to be limited. When Roman came back to Salem, he came from Europe where he was trying to start a life with Anna, Carrie's mother. He needs to get back to that."

Both actors have last aired on Friday, January 26th.
