    Josh Hawkins "IN the LIGHT"

SONBC: So tell us a little about what is going on with you personally and about the winter hiatus?
JH: Sure! I just purchased my first home so that is taking up a majority of my time over the Christmas break. As such, "THE LIGHT" will be dark for a few days.

SONBC: We won't be seeing Christmas in Springfield then?
JH: Christmas we'll be seen, granted it maybe a little after the actual holiday, but I have some stuff happening for Christmas, so yes it will be seen for sure!

SONBC: Great! Now let's talk about what has SONBC viewers confused here...PHILLIP SPAULDING, Dead or Alive?
    JH: VERY MUCH ALIVE!!

SONBC: Then explain the last few episodes of "THE LIGHT" where Phillip's ex-wife, Beth and all of Springfield mourned his tragic death.
JH: That was all a stunt! Viewers should think "DALLAS: Pamela's Dream" and you have what we done on "THE LIGHT" for Beth's "IN the LIGHT" episodes.

SONBC: It was all Beth's dream?
JH: Yes episodes 25-29 were Beth's dream! What happened is that in Episode 24 Olivia put into Beth's mind that something horrible could happen to Phillip...something horrible that could ruin her relationship with Phillip if she didn't do something! From that Beth went to bed...and began her dream of "What if Phillip died? What would my life be like?" So that's the angle I was wanting to go for the story.

SONBC: It produced some good drama, that's for darn sure.
JH: Thank you. I wanted to be real with this from start to finish and I wanted the readers to have no clue, which I don't think they did. I made every adjustment that I could to make this seem real with a faux firing of Grant Aleksander (Phillip) and such!

SONBC: Well brava for your hard work! What can you tell us about 2007, previews and such.
JH: Right now we're going through some possible backstage changes. Some that I can't speak of at the moment because the final details have not been ironed out completely.

SONBC: When will we have more information on the shake up?
JH: Hopefully by the end of the week once we return to production!

Written By: Dan Gobble & Josh Hawkins

THE LIGHT Opening Alan conducts his own board meeting as the newly named CEO of Spaulding Enterprises. However when Alexandra’s signatures are required for some paperwork, as Chief Operating Officer, Alan begins to wonder where Alex is.

At Cedars Hospital, the Board of Directors convenes their annual monthly meeting. The chairman of the board calls the meeting to order as Ed and Lillian pass one another in the hallway outside. Lillian asks if anything important is happening and Ed reveals to her that there is a rumor circling around the staff that major renovations will occur over the next six months to a year!

Marah and Tammy meet at The Beacon, at Tammy’s request. Marah asks what is going on and Tammy reveals that she feels something is off with Shayne. Marah questions why she thinks that and Tammy says that he isn’t interested in the things he was last semester and that he’s quieter. Marah says that she’ll talk to him, but Tammy says talking to him won’t do any good, Tammy tells Marah the person she needs to talk to is Reva!

Alexandra arrives at the Spaulding cottage in Bar Harbor, Maine. She walks around the place that hasn’t been used in years. She notices pictures of the family on the mantle once at the end she pulls out the bracelet and studies it…she whispers to herself that Vera better keep her end of the bargain. The ringing of her cell phone jolts Alexandra back to reality, when she sees it is Alan, she turns it off and then throws it against the wall!

Marah says that she is not going to talk to Reva and she doesn’t really know how that is going to help Shayne. Marah gets her purse and jacket, Tammy tells her to stop and realize that this isn’t about what Marah wants, this is not about what Marah wants or what is best for her. Tammy tells her Danny, Cassie and even she has forgiven Reva’s actions, it’s time that Marah does the same, for the sake of her brother! Tammy leaves telling Marah that she doesn’t get to walk out this time!

At the Cedars board meeting, the chairman says that Cedars has been an institution in Springfield for over the last seventy years. Now as they enter into the year 2007 renovations must be made to survive and thrive for the next seventy years. The chairman moves that they request bids from Spaulding Enterprise and Lewis Construction to do the remodeling.

Setside sources close to "THE GUIDING LIGHT" are reporting that there is an uproar behind the scenes.

"It is not our policy to comment on rumors." Shared head writer/executive producer Josh Hawkins. "However there is some casting shuffles going on at "TGL" and we'll keep you up to date!"

    UPDATE

There are confirmed rumors that one ACTOR is OUT at "The Guiding Light." The actor in question assured executives he wanted them to make the right choice for the character and if he was not it then he would leave. Josh Hawkins (Executive Producer/Head Writer) & Dan Gobble (Head Writer) saw the writing on the wall late last night when this story first broke.

"Dan and I went behind closed doors to resolve the issue." Hawkins stated, "We'll announce later tonight/early Friday who is no longer with us."

    The Light: Episode 005
INSIDE THE LIGHT: The Lewis Family
Wednesday, October 11, 2006 Reva leaves the KSPR studio and another bomb explodes…she screams out in agonizing fear…that turns into a rainy day at the cemetery where she finds a lineup of coffins…Ed Bauer arrives and offers his condolences for Reva’s loss…she suddenly realizes that there are eight coffins containing: Cassie, Tammy, Shayne, Marah, Jonathan, Joshua, Dylan and Billy. Reva cries out and jolts herself awake from her nightmare.

Josh asks Reva what is wrong and she recounts her nightmare. Reva says she feels safe with Marah and Shayne, knowing that they will be with Dylan in Minnesota but not knowing if Jonathan is safe or not is bothering her. Josh tries to reassure her that Olivia said he was moving to a different boarding school. After a while Reva questions if the stalker could be someone they know, very well.

Josh leaves to go pick Shayne up from Cedars and Dylan comes downstairs. Reva tells him she is so glad to see him, but not under these circumstances. Dylan questions exactly what is going on and Reva reveals to him that after she got a pardon from prison she begun receiving threatening phone calls and messages. Reva says they’ve started coming towards Marah and Shayne and she wants them out of Springfield.

Tammy returns from having worked out at The Beacon gym and Cassie tells her she should hurry up and get dressed. Tammy questions why and Cassie explains that her cousin Dylan has arrived from Minnesota and he’s taking Marah and Shayne back home with him until Reva’s stalker is caught. Cassie then informs Tammy that she’ll be going with them, whether she likes it or not.

Josh returns home with Shayne to find Billy, Dylan, Cassie, Tammy and Reva awaiting their return. Shortly after Marah and Tony arrive. Reva announces that Edmund was not the person that they were looking for and that her stalker is still out there somewhere and while she appreciates Tony’s help in protecting Marah and Shayne they have decided it would be in the best interest of the children if they left Springfield with Dylan and Billy. Shayne inquires as to where they are going and Josh explains that they will go to Minnesota until the stalker is caught once and for all. Marah is very angry that her mother would just send her away and despite trying to calm her down, she runs out of the house and speeds away.

Josh and Olivia meet at Cedars. She informs him that Jonathan and Marissa are safe in San Cristobel and as per Reva’s request Olivia suggested Marissa send Jonathan to a boarding school in Europe to keep him safe from Edmund. Josh thanks her for helping out and putting their differences aside for the sake of their family.

Devastated that she is putting her family through this Reva goes off and breaks down. Shayne goes after her and assures her that everything will be fine and that Marah will come around and see that leaving Springfield right now is for the best.

Marah goes to the lighthouse and gets on the computer where she begins looking for plane tickets to Paris. She thinks that this is another ploy her father is using to keep Marah and Tony away from one another, distraught over everything that is going Marah begins to breakdown and realizes that if she wants to protect herself from not only the stalker but Josh and Reva and lead a normal life with Tony then she is going to have to do it her own way, with her own set of rules. She grabs a duffle bag from the closet and begins packing what clothes she has left at the lighthouse and that is when she comes across an envelope with Tony’s name on it. She opens the envelope and out falls pictures, newspaper clippings from the 80s through the present day, one that sticks out in her mind the most is the photograph of Reva and Josh at the country club fountain. The picture was clipped from the society page and the caption reads, “Tulsa bad girl Reva Shayne Lewis baptizes herself the slut of Springfield.” Marah begins to freak out and that is when Tony arrives, which sends her reeling. She asks where he got this information and he is without answers. Marah demands answers and he asks what has her so upset and that is when Marah shows him the note that was left for her at the nurse’s station at Cedars, “The water is warm. Make your mother, the slut proud before it’s too late.”

At The Beacon, Danny arrives and finds Cassie working. The two share a cup of coffee and Danny explains that he is waiting on Michelle to arrive. The Guiding Light: Episode 045

Written By: Dan Gobble & Josh Hawkins

    **********

A new day dawns in Springfield. Blades of sunlight slice their way through the blinds of the Spaulding mansion living room. Olivia Spencer Spaulding glides down the stairs in her robe and walks to the dining room, where the breakfast tray is set. Olivia pours herself a mug of coffee and sits down.

She glances over and notices the daily issue of the Springfield Journal lying on the table. She picks it up and reads the Cedars construction article on the front page. “I hope Spaulding doesn’t win this bid. Goodness knows that Alan barely pays enough attention to me these days already,” she thinks. As she assesses her present situation, her thoughts turn towards Phillip, who is now out of her reach. Olivia is so lost in thought that she does not notice Lizzie enter the room.

“Hey Granny! What’s up?” she asks.

Olivia smiles. “What did I tell you, Lizzie? Enough with the ‘granny’ stuff. Hell, I’m young enough to be your mother. So what are you doing here, I thought you were going to the Alsten Academy?”

“I was homesick, so I decided to come back. But speaking of mothers, have you seen mine? I’ve been looking for her everywhere.”

“I think she’s with your father. You must be so happy for them,” Olivia chagrined.

    “Why? What happened?”

“You mean you don’t know?” Olivia exclaimed.

    **********

At Hollybend, an alarm clock blares, waking Holly up. She looks around the room and realizes that she fell asleep again on her sofa. She realizes that her migraine is gone for now and gets up from the sofa. She lumbers to the kitchen like she is anchored to the sofa and starts the coffee maker. She grabs a coffee mug from the cabinet and sits at the table. Outside, the trees sport a thin layer of white coating and the ice cycles dangle from the gutter. Holly stares out of the window, leaving her empty home behind.

“This must be the winter of my discontent,” Holly wryly remarks. She gets up from the chair and goes to the phone and picks up the receiver.

“Rhonda, I won’t be able to come into the office today. I’m still not feeling very well. Just tell Adam to hold a column on the front page for the Cedars news and get Tom to get his butt moving on that Boston piece. Okay. Thanks Rhonda.”

Holly places the receiver back on the table and sits down on the sofa. She spots a picture of Ed Bauer and realizes that she missed their lunch date the day before. She decides almost unconsciously that she needs to go and talk to Ed. She grabs her coat from the closet and shuts the door.

    **********

The boardroom at Spaulding Enterprises is clogged with stockholders hoping to receive news regarding the company’s fate. Alan sits at the head of a long table with Phillip beside him.

“So as you can see everyone, our profits rose over the final quarter of the year. We hope to capitalize on new technologies in the pharmaceutical division to keep the company healthy. Does anyone have questions?”

“I do,” said one of the stockholders. “Alan, where is Alexandra?”

    **********

    And Now "The Guiding Light"

    Opening

    **********

“What do you mean Olivia? What happened to my parents?” Lizzie asks.

Olivia realizes that Lizzie doesn’t know that Phillip and Beth remarried and decides to get revenge on Beth for marrying Phillip.

“You mean you don’t know that your parents remarried a couple nights ago?” Olivia feigns a surprised tone.

    “WHAT?!” Lizzie yells.

“Yeah, they went to Law Vegas and came back married. I guess it isn’t true. Not everything stays in Las Vegas, huh?”

“No I didn’t know. Oh my God! My parents remarried?”

“Yeah, it’s hard to believe isn’t it? I mean, after everything they’ve been through over the past couple years.”

“I can’t believe this,” Lizzie exclaims.

“You mean you aren’t happy for them?” Olivia asks.

“Well…I don’t know. Where are they living, are they here at the mansion?”

“No, I think they are living at the Beacon for now, I think.”

Olivia looks at her watch and notices that Lizzie is going to be late for school.

“But enough about that, why don’t you get to school. You are going to be late.”

“Okay Granny Olivia!” Lizzie leaves with a grin on her face. She can only wonder why her own parents did not tell her that they were getting remarried.

Olivia stays seated at the table and eats her toast with satisfaction. She realizes that this plays into her plan perfectly.

    **********

Holly reaches the back yard of the Bauer house and looks into the kitchen window. She sees Mel going up the back stairs and Ed sitting at the table. Holly knocks on the door and walks in. Ed sees her and gets up to kiss her. He ushers her to a seat at the kitchen table.

“I realized that I missed our lunch date yesterday, so I had to come over here to apologize,” Holly said.

“That’s ok, I’m sure there was bigger news in Springfield than our lunch date.”

“Actually Ed, I didn’t go to work yesterday either. I had to go see Blake. She thought that because I had spent some time with Ross over the past several weeks that I was having an affair with him.”

    “Well were you?” Ed asks.

“No, of course not. Perhaps it would have been true a few years ago when we were on the outs, but we’ve grown so close over the past few years that I wouldn’t do anything to come between that.”

“Blake’s grown so much over the past few years hasn’t she?” Ed reflects. “I remember when she gobbled down hotdogs at the state fair.”

“Yeah, those were simpler…” Holly realizes what she is about to say and changes her mind. “I was going to say that those were simpler times, but I guess they really weren’t, were they?”

    “No they weren’t,” Ed smiles.

“But anyway, while I was over trying to clear the air, I fainted.”

    “You did?” Ed said curiously.

“I felt light-headed and then before I knew it I was on the ground. My migraines are back and I’m just not sure why.”

“Your migraines are back? When did they start?”

“Well a couple weeks ago, I was remembering Maureen. It was like some slippery slope. As soon as I was looking into the past, everything I thought was dead and buried came rushing back. Roger, the rape, everything. And then my migraines came back.”

“Did you have any sensitivity to light or sound during the migraines? The last time you had these migraines, you felt drained and wouldn’t leave the house. Have you been feeling depressed again?”

“Ed, listen, I know you want to go into doctor mode and try to diagnose me, but I’m feeling fine. There are no pieces left for you to pick up. You can unsaddle your white charger Galahad; he won’t be needed today,” Holly smiles.

“What is it with me?” Holly continues. “Every time I have a problem, I unconsciously come to you. But right now, I want to try to settle a problem myself for once.”

    **********

    “Alan, where is Alexandra?”

“We are still trying to locate my sister, but until we find her, we must all be patient. There has to be a good reason for her absence.”

“We can only wait a little bit longer, Alan. There are stacks of documents waiting for Alexandra’s signature. If we can’t get her back as soon as we can, this company is going to halt to a standstill.”

“We understand your frustration, but please be aware that we are trying our best to make up for my sister’s absence.”

The stockholders leave the boardroom, leaving an angry Alan and Phillip alone in the room.

“Where the hell is Alexandra?” Alan roared. “Does she not realize the mess she’s created? If she knew she was going to do this, then why did she take my company away in the first place? And damn those stockholders! Don’t they know that our hands are tied?”

“Dad, don’t get too upset. Remember, your heart. You may have faked the last one, but the next one may be real. Now we have to move fast. Aunt Alex’s disappearance doesn’t bode well with the Cedars construction proposal.”

“I know that Phillip! I’m going to find Alex if I have to look everywhere.”

    **********

Lizzie rushes to her locker at Springfield High School. Her mascara is smudged with tears. Tammy and Marina, approach her to try to help.

“Hey Lizzie, what’s wrong,” Tammy asked.

“Oh nothing… My parents got remarried awhile ago.”

“But what’s wrong with that?” a confused Marina questioned.

“They went to Las Vegas without telling anyone and got remarried. I didn’t find out until this morning and even then, it wasn’t my parents who told me. You know, I came back so that I could reunite with my family. But my family keeps drifting farther and farther apart and I’m not sure what I can do to stop it.

    **********

“If you need me, Holly, I can help you.”

“You’re such a glutton for drama Ed. I’ve tried so hard to put my damsel in distress days behind me. This is my turn to prove to myself that I can do it.”

“Holly, you think I need drama in my life? Hell, if I wanted it, I could ask my daughter how her day went.”

“How is Michelle doing?” Holly asks.

“She’s going through the motions, but she still doesn’t talk about anything. She’s caught between two men that she loves and she can’t see any way out of it. You know, when Maureen died, I vowed that I would protect her and keep her from feeling such pain again. Now, I look at her and I can’t help but feel like a big failure.”

“Ed, don’t. You have done all you can. You can’t lock her up in her room until she’s 50. You have to let her make her own decisions and make her own mistakes. It took me awhile to come to that conclusion with Blake.”

Holly walks to the kitchen counter.

“God, I could use a drink. Just one.”

“Holly, there is an AA meeting tonight at Cedars. I was thinking of going. Why don’t you come with me? At the very least, you can prop up my problems.”

    “For you, anything.”

Ed and Holly kiss, as Mel walk in.

    “Ed, you ready?” Mel says.

“Yeah Mel. Sorry Holly, I have to go to Cedars. Want me to pick you up at 8?” “Sure,” Holly answers.

    **********

“Well, I’m going home. See you dad.”

Phillip leaves the room. Alan takes a glass and throws it across the room.

“Damn you Alexandra. I just know you planned this. How dare you take my company away from me and then strip it bare in front of my eyes.”

    Alan-Michael dashes into the room.

“Dad, meet the new COO of Spaulding Enterprises.”

"Big things are happening in Springfield this fall as old storylines come to shocking conclusions and new ones heat up!! Take a look and see what is in store for your favorite citizens. Stories are geared toward the entire large canvas of characters."

    Phillip/Olivia/Beth/Alan

"What we have had so far is Olivia married Alan...even though she had feelings for Phillip...and later made love with him! The paternity of the baby is cleared up when Olivia decides to find out if Alan or Phillip is the father of her unborn child.

"Olivia struggles with whether or not she should do this or not, but ultimately decides it is the best thing for her child. Sam (Wes Ramsey) continues to pop up during the storyline. As for Alan he begins to push his attention towards an approaching board meeting of the Ex-Wives Club. Alexandra's year long run as CEO of the company is coming to an end and with her attentions elsewhere (See Gus/Harley story) he intends to make a run at Spaulding Enterprises."

"Having put Bill and her troubled past as Lorelei behind her she intends to focus her attention to where it should have been the entire time: Phillip. We'll work to resolve the baby situation for the couple with Olivia and integrate Lizzie back into their lives by Christmas and then a whole new exciting tale begins."

    Buzz/Alexandra

"Forget the fact that Alex is hiding a huge secret from his daughter's boyfriend and you have a match made in Heaven...or do you? This is going to be a fun pairing, one that will slowly build throughout autumn and because of her involvement in Gus' past the couple will have a huge falling out. But look for the returning Lucy Cooper Spaulding to play matchmaker...off screen throughout the cooling months."

    Gus/Harley

"The truth about Gus will come out sometime in OCTOBER but Gus will be convinced that it is in Harley's best interest he keep mum about the truth. Gus has very good reasons for keeping quite about this situation and readers may think they have it figured out...but you don't. Alexandra accidentally spills the beans one night with Buzz and he tells his daughter...which has drastic outcome for the lovebirds!"

    Tony/Marah/Lizzie

"In the aftermath of the bombing at the KSPR studios Marah begins to doubt Tony's involvement, despite there being an arrest and she begins a surprising friendship with Blake Marler. She begins to formulate her own theories as to what is going on with her boyfriend and makes her thoughts clear to Blake who advises Marah to confront Tony about her thoughts, which she finally does, sending him back to a dark place and straight into Lizzie's arms."

    Holly/Ross/Billy/Blake

"An interesting dynamic begins to slowly build during the fall months. Think back to Ross and Blake's problems with planning a wedding post-Tory and then couple Blake's new found friendship with Marah and you have a nice square."

    Michelle/Danny/Cassie

"Michelle decides some time away from Springfield is in order and she sets off to parts unknown. Leaving Danny questioning what went wrong yet again and hoping to correct his errors...with Cassie."

    HUGE AUTUMN STORY: Reva's Stalker

"Someone is out to get the slut of Springfield once and for all!!! This story is huge and so much fun to plan. The stalker is someone Reva knows and it is not Edmund or Holly. This story is rich with history and involves another character from a prominent Springfield family with no ties to the Lewis clan or Reva."
