  1. Hooked, I just hope that Tracy doesn't disappear after gf leaves. Who would have thought we'd need gf's presence to get story for Tracy...
  2. Hey, funny. If you want any more quotes, just thought of the one from Tony's acceptance speech at the Emmys in May... ...And I'm grateful to my partner in crime, Jane Elliot. She makes me better. He said more about her, but I just love that part.
  3. Ms. Q, the first quote was from an Entertainment Weekly interview. I'll see if I can find a date. I know it was earlier this year, though. I'm thinking they run into each other at the airport, too. EDIT: Couldn't find a date, but it was shortly after the Leeza Gibbons interview. In fact, TG mentions something about how doing the show is as close to the stage as you can get because it's three cameras. When I read that, I thought...Hmmm, I know where you learned that from...Jane! (Remember her saying that in the radio interview?) In the EW interview, most of the questions were about gf. So, he brought up Jane totally on his own.
  4. Funny, here you go. Have at it... Interview spring of 2008... Well, I've been very, very lucky in the last five years or so to be able to work with Jane Elliot, because I've been a huge fan of her for my entire career in soaps. She and I are both the same age, and I think she was on the show a year before I was. She also came and went and did other shows. But because I have this compadre, this colleague who shares my history and my history with the show, I haven't felt as isolated.... So I've been really fortunate to be able to grow and mature without resentment because it is difficult when you were the focus of the show and having great story all the time to be back-burnered and sort of moved over into the more supporting category, unless you have someone as spectacular as Jane to work with. And that has been really a saving grace for me in the last few years. From Cyndi Rinehart's soap segment in March or April of this year... My favorite co-star is Jane Elliot. We have waited to work together for thirty years and they finally put us together a couple of years ago. I've never had so much fun or been so challenged by anyone before. It's a very good dynamic that we have together and the characters are such an unlikely combination but, in truth, they're quite perfect together.
  5. Sounds like a good plan, halee. I don't enjoy the controvery either. If I had more time for it, that would be one thing, but I don't. On top of that, it almost seems that the more popular LuNacy becomes, the more the laura/lnl-er fans scream for them, and Tracy, to be torn down. And I hear you on Obama. If only SOC posts could be traded for votes... At least we know the latter counts. As far as LuNacy goes, I think the die is cast and it depends on Tony and his retirement. Given his friendship with Jane, and his acknowledgement of what she has done for his character, I hope he will use his clout to see that the integrity of *her* character is maintained.
  6. Very true, funny. Didn't see the other halees, but did notice an extreme case of multiple personality syndrome among the LnLers almost from the start of the poll. It's always good to be forewarned, but I'm dreading the demonization of Tracy and the glorification of the most banal, lackluster supposed "icon" that is gf/laura. It mystifies me that they continue to pacify a fanbase whose character gives them relatively little return on their investment. They promote her out the wazoo and, yet, there was more activity in threads about how great Tracy/Jane looks in teal than about how Laura woke up...again. Tracy, as a character, has evolved so much over the past few years. She's loved and treated Lulu as her own daughter and done so without expecting anything in return...which is exactly what she's gotten. She's gone way above what anyone would have expected of even the "angel" in standing by Luke. So, assuming this is true about the dynamics in wrapping up gf's stay, I am going to be one upset Jane/Tracy Fan First if all of that is stripped away. And all for a couple that the majority of the current audience could care less about??
  7. That's what I hate about triangles. In order to make them "work", one of the three is made to be the fall guy - or girl, in this case. So sick of the "angel" ( ) at Tracy's expense.
  8. Let's put it this way... I think Guza likes the couple from the 80's the way McCain likes Canada.
  9. The prospect of Tracy being second royally sucks. However, I'm convinced that, if that's the way they go, it will only be part of an exit storyline. And I'd rather the wig exit, regardless of whom she exits with, than have Tracy - and JE - exit. You never know, though. There might be a surprise twist. Like an adventure rerun wherein the adventurers realize that things are different now. If it's not an exit storyline, I can see that scenario playing out. Anyway... I'm just glad to see JE with such great stuff apparently coming up. If her heart is broken, even temporarily, JE will blow everyone away. And she hasn't had a chance to do that for *so* long. Saw the Heat Miser video. Crap. But even with the hairdo, JE looked great. (Maybe Ms. Q can redo all the screencaps this year with good hair if she finds herself with a few months with nothing to do. ) EDIT: If Tracy is involved in helping Lulu's mother, it will be for Lulu. Can't see her doing it to help Luke. That's just too long-suffering, and you know what Tracy said about that. So, if she does it for Lulu, even after the way Lulu has treated her, that will make her a more selfless mother than the bio mother has *ever*, *ever* been. Another thing... If the couple from the 80's are *all that*, they wouldn't need an entire ensemble to make the story work, would they? I think it's very interesting that Guza is involving "the whole family" including Scott.
  10. Well, since someone else mentioned it... Barack Obama and Joe Biden: Organizing Resource Center Early voting has started, so get out the vote! And get out and vote!
  11. Lainey, here was my initial reaction to the week off for luke/wig filming: Maybe she filmed all her stuff that week. And maybe she's already gone. Yeah, I like that version. I'm going with it. Enough to worry about with the election. They'll have laura hanging over everyone's head for all eternity. But they can get more mileage out of teasing (and threatening ) an actual redux than doing it. They'd also have to pay for both TG and the "very expensive" (her words) GF. Wigs are cheap and you never know when they might spring back to life. If I were them, I'd definitely go with that strategy.
  12. Thanks for the video services, halee! I think Jane got about a minute of airtime which was in keeping with this year ..until next week! The current online issue of Canada's TV Guide named... Top 3 Actresses to Watch: 1. Eden Riegel (Bianca, AMC) 2. Erika Slezak (Viki, OLTL) 3. Jane Elliot (Tracy, GH) Also, in honor of Canadian Thanksgiving, they presented 2008’s 55 BEST ACTORS IN SOAPS, and Jane made the list! (Think she would have made it even if the list had been much smaller.) EDIT: Here's the entire list in case anyone is interested: http://tvguide.sympatico.msn.ca/Soaps/Nels...tings_nelson_NB
  13. Wow...where to begin... First things first: Happy Birthday, Funny! Thanks, MinervaFan and Hooked for the photos and heads up on Jane and the GH/Food Network thing. That's a great photo of her. (Make sure to click the full size link; it's good of everyone.) Thanks for the scoops, hooked. I guess we'll find out what happens when TG decides if he's staying or not. I'm adopting a very zen-like perspective about the TG/will he or won't he. Maybe it's because I'm so crazed about the election. I'm using all my stress there, so there's not too much left over to worry about TG's possible retirement! If it happens, I'm sure it will be a different story. Anyway, non-TQ related, but JE-related, sort of... I wanted to share this excellent video I got from one of my Obama email groups: http://www.dipdive.com/dip-politics/wato/ Please pass it along!
  14. Way to go, hooked! Love those spoilers. And thanks for the chat video link. Off to watch now...
  15. Thanks for the spoilers, hooked! The one mentioning Edward not helping Tracy and Luke reminded me of something you posted a couple of weeks ago from SD. It was something about Tracy, Luke, and Eddie to the rescue. So, I'll bet the reprobate's father-in-law ends up in Mexico, too. And hey! I just got the email that ABC sends out for the soaps each week, and Tracy and Luke's photos is at the top. So, woohoo!! Hooked, I'll join you over at soapoperasource.com. We can keep both threads going, no problem...right?
  16. Well...um...I guess not. I mean, they don't seem to have a choice, being in jail and everything.
  17. Thanks for the pics, Ms. Q! As you said, Ms. Q, Tracy doesn't look too amused. However, she doesn't look that mad either. I assume this is after she and Luke are thrown into the same cell. And, by the way, I couldn't help but notice that there's only one small bed for the two of them.
  18. LOL! You know, after I posted that, I realized it sounded like I thought that JE was the sole reason that Obama is moving ahead in Nevada. But, hey, why not? Hey, we need to start a TQ Fans for Obama.
  19. I've died and gone to jail. Hooked, you *is* my Daddy!!!
  20. Yes, you can! And so do I! Jane mentioned she had been going to swing states...I'll bet that was Nevada, and it's paid off because Obama is moving ahead of mccain there!!!!
  21. Actually, SD being full of BS and baiters was my point of posting that sequence of messages. People were jumping on the bandwagon, each with a different version. That's why I thought the order of things gave a different perspective. No one is pushing a panic button.
  22. That's crossed my mind, too, and not just from the perspective of the fans. I have no idea what cast and/or crew thinks about or feels for GF, and I'll leave it there. But we do know that Jane is loved by many and, from more than one credible source, "universally admired and respected by all" was the quote from one, IIRC. So, it would make for some extremely dicey, and icy, backstage dynamics and understandably so. That's not an atmosphere for producing a show that is already struggling, to put it mildly. People aren't idiots. That goes for the audience, cast, and crew. Even if they waited and dropped Jane after some "grace period" following GF's arrival, it would still be obvious, certainly to cast and crew, if not to a large portion of the audience.
  23. Found this on SOC... Where on God's earth is Tracy? http://boards.soapcentral.com/showthread.php?t=401355
  24. We were talking about the SD message claiming that JE had been let go today, and for some odd reason, none of us could find it again. Found it... http://www.thedaytimedish.com/viewtopic.ph...&start=1335 Here was the sequence of the who's going messages, most of these being posted just a few minutes apart: (the last one was posted several hours later) GF will return and MW is out NLG &MW are out KMc, NLG and MW are out. ABC will be cleaning house 4 are out at GH MW&NLG SR JE are out JE was let go today And the only one who identified themselves posted... Sebastian Roche has been let go. Megan Ward's and Lisa Lo Cicero's contract status is up in the air. WantSomeDish EDIT: Ran across a post from yesterday that said something like, "And you wonder why no legit insiders have posted for a few days." Let's hope the streak continued today.
  25. I'm cautiously optimistic that Jane isn't among those leaving. The "cleaning house" directive seems to be legit which is prompting some fan fiction, guessing games, etc. I won't even list those I think it might be because, as long as it isn't Jane, I don't care, and don't want to divert the focus. Speaking of focus, Sean has the right idea. The status quo is enough reason to be concerned, coupled with the "cleaning house", so calling and/or writing really is crucial.
