The quirky romantic couple of Mason and Julia definitely deserved their spot...always loved them. Regarding Cruz and Eden, well anything out of the top 10 is a gross anomaly (Not being biased here, maybe a little bit ((-:). The kinda impact their pairing had and still does judging by the euphoria around their reunion recently is really unmatched. There seems to be a recency bias and also a case of out of sight out of mind syndrome, especially with Marcy being out of the limelight for so long...its easy to discredit there pairing.

Thanks...revisited this site after some time.. there is also a new interview with Stacy Edwards who portrayed the character of Hayley, nice insights about her time at SB especially working with Robin and Justin. Wonder if she was invited for the reunion, didn't think I saw her there.

So apparently, since the 40th year reunion was such a grand success the team have announced that they will have another "major" event in 2025 (31st July/ 2nd August tentatively) at a bigger venue. Guess they were pleasantly surprised by all the outpouring of love & how much SB is still admired by its loyal fans (Lane mentioned in his Facebook post), what with so many international fans travelling from France/ Belgium/ Germany even Norway for this event not to mention the many domestic fans from various states.

Yes ....thanks. The only person she was ever really going to come out for was A, glad she did.

Absolutely spot on.....glad she did not attend, it was a cosy reunion for the actors/ fans and would have been difficult anyways for her to attend (considering stars have their own entourage).. Love her as an actress though, really talented and beautiful. As mentioned here, there is a time and place for everything and this was not it. Also, loved how the reunion was about all the old timers on the show and of course (Ahem!) especially Marcy. She was obviously the toast of everyone's eyes (deservedly) since she has been out of the limelight for so long. Don't know what pushed her to come (I know she did not go for the AMC one), but sure am glad we got to see her there.

See there is no right or wrong in this...just a matter of perspective. Fans felt let down as for years she was rubbishing not just her role or the lack of acting skills during the time but Soap operas as a genre (Which was also kinda disrespectful towards her colleagues as they were brilliant in it). But all the reasons you mentioned above are true too and she has a right to be anguished about it. All I wanna say is, she could have been more diplomatic or understanding of fan emotions associated with the show/genre. she has softened up her stance recently, calling it her training ground (which should have been her line from the start IMO๐).

Personally seeing Marcy there just made me so emotional๐ฅฐ....she looked gorgeous and ageing gracefully out of the public eye. Her being healthy and smiling after all that she has gone through in the recent past was everything... Also yes...I know they are not that their characters, but the way the writers botched up their story line in the end to phase Marcy out, it was actually nice to see them chatting away to glory after all these years๐. Loved all the pictures and videos from the event , hope there is a feed somewhere of the entire meet up, would actually pay to watch it. Amen.. She really seemed so happy to see not just A but everyone...Finally after all those attempts A made to reconnect with her.

Absolutely spot on! 85-86 were absolute peak....the acting, writing was top notch and gold standard for TV...pretty much enjoyed 88 as well although not at par with the previous years...Acting of all the 3 protagonists during the Robert Barr story line was great too but not much else to write home about otherwise....after that it was just an unfortunate slide. Well Robin probably didn't want to add a single day to the already extended 4 year stay she had on the show ๐ That Joe recast was painful to watch, dunno how the cast members kept a straight face whilst acting with him....๐คฃ

In my repeat viewing of SB am struck by how much ahead of its times this soap was for the 80's especially on television, was too young to comprehend when it got aired initially, They have included the below (albeit not accurately at all times) social issues in their story lines, 1) LGBT acceptance bias (Channing/ Lindsay) 2) Interracial dynamics (Cruz/Eden) 3) Child abuse (Christie storyline) 4) Rape (Well...) 5) Date Rape (When No means No) As I mentioned some of the above story lines were not perfect but full marks for trying.

Wait What??? Just to see Marcy in public after ages is going to be such a charm....Hope all is well with her, she didn't attend the All My Children one did she?...Wouldn't have been as special without her, A has been wishing for this for so long in all his interviews...Hope there are videos for us fans ...

Agree wholeheartedly on the makers doing a complete 360 from this very ambitious, highly opinionated and feisty woman that Eden was to a damsel in distress. The show starts of with Eden trying to prove to CC that she is capable of handling Executive position in Capwell enterprises to her becoming a detective/ TV journalist/ Jewel thief (Split personality I am looking at you!).. It would have been nice if A & Marcy would have been given individual storylines more often rather than just clubbing them as a "Supercouple", which eventually was the undoing of the show.

Hahaha....no Tomatoes here ((-; Agree on the over reliance part and to think that SB had such great Actors at their disposal. It may also be a Chicken and Egg situation, the initial ratings for the show was not great, so the writers tried to stick to the few "success points" from the show to which the audience responded to and probably overdid it. I mean they did have Julia/ Mason/Mary, CC/Sophia, Lionel/ Augusta, Ted/Hayley not to forget the many love interests of Kelly over the years...but for some reason always kept coming back to C & E.

Absolutely....would have been a beautiful closure for all the C & E fans...Funny some of these professional writers and creators can be so out of touch with the fan emotions on the ground..
