They needed someone who could give a more complex portrayal of Sophia, including a wry sense of humor, in order for there to be much chemistry between Sophia and Lionel. And of course Richard Eden's portrayal of Brick - and even the name "Brick Wallace" - were quite bland, which staled the whole Lionel/Sophia story even more.

But I don't think she and Nicolas Coster had much chemistry. Her rather one-dimensional portrayal of Sophia didn't complement Coster's dry wit very well.

I think Forsyth left the show of her own choosing, but I kinda wish she'd stayed. As you can see in this early photo of her, she looked much more like Marcy Walker & Robin Wright than Judith McConnell did. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0287071/mediaviewer/rm1513995266/

Does anyone have any info about filming locations? Specifically, I'm trying to find out where they filmed the exterior shots of the apartment building Santana lived in from 1984-1986, and the Perkins house seen from 1985-1987.

Was it ever explained how the Capwells and the Lockridges first came to be established in Santa Barbara? On Dallas and Falcon Crest the geographical locations were suitable for the family industries, but I think the Capwells were in Santa Barbara before any off-shore drilling ventures and before the Capwell hotel was built.

Anyone else think it was odd how the Heather/Scott/Celeste storyline petered out with no real closure? I mean, I think it was pretty clear it was over between Scott and Celeste, but it still felt unresolved. As for Scott and Heather, it was more up in the air. In their last scene together Scott wanted to get back with Heather but she wasn't exactly ready to welcome him back with open arms. So it didn't look like they'd be getting back together any time soon. But last we knew, they both still lived in Santa Barbara, so who knows?

I don't think 'Channing' is a very common first name. Do you think it's likely that it was a family name? Perhaps CC's mother's or grandmother's maiden name.

A couple things confuse me about Amy's baby storyline: How was Jack Lee involved? Had he already been the Capwells' attorney before any of that happened? If so, was it just a coincidence that Amy (who was already remotely connected with the Capwells) was made pregnant by mistake?

I'm trying to write a Santa Barbara/Falcon Crest crossover and was hoping to get some ideas. I envision it taking place in the spring of 1985. So far I have: - It's revealed that CC is the cousin of Richard Channing, who owns the newspaper the San Francisco Globe. - I might tie it in with the Amanda Lockridge treasure storyline since around this time a crime group was searching for Nazi treasure buried under Falcon Crest and/or - Tie it in with Amy's baby storyline since her ex, Jeff, lived in San Francisco and Brick went up to investigate him. Plus, the actor who played Dr. Renfro on SB made an appearance earlier that season on Falcon Crest as a character tied in with the Nazi treasure storyline. Perhaps it could turn out to be the same character. - At some point Angela Channing and Augusta would square off. Any thoughts?
