  1. Does anybody know if Vanessa Gold is a permanant character; beacuse Zoe Lucker gives the impression that she is only staying for a few months.
  2. ITV postpones Corrie for second day Coronation Street will once again be pulled from this evening's schedules in the wake of Cumbria's shooting tragedy. Late yesterday evening, the commercial broadcaster decided not to broadcast the Manchester soap's fourth episode of Siege Week out of respect for those who were killed during yesterday's incident. The 9pm slot - sandwiched between the Britain's Got Talent performance and results shows - will again be filled by Harry Hill's The Best of TV. An ITV spokesperson this afternoon confirmed: "Following the tragic events in Cumbria yesterday, both Wednesday's and Thursday's planned Coronation Street episodes have been postponed.” It has not yet been confirmed when the outstanding episodes of Coronation Street will be broadcast.
  3. Next weeks writers are now confimed as Matt Evans, Paul Mari, Kim Revill and Richard Zajdlic
  4. Apparently Emer Keeney who plays zsa zsa was not axed by Bryan Kirkwood, but asked to be written out. From inside soap and walford web Of Kenny’s departure, executive producer Bryan Kirkwood has confirmed that ‘it was Emer’s decision to leave in order to concentrate on her university studies.’ He went on to say that ‘she will continue as a writer on the second series of E20, and we’d love to see her in the main show again at some point in the future.’
  5. I would imagine they pick together. In fairness to Dominic that role has always been too big for one person.
  6. I think it means they are reducing his workload, beacuse Dominic used to create the story document.
  7. It look like the BBC are efectivly hiring a deputy storyliner for Dominic Treadwell Collins. http://jobs.bbc.co.uk/fe/tpl_bbc01.asp?newms=jj&id=33625&aid=15286
  8. The BBC have now officially confirmed that Melissa Suffield will be leaving as Lucy Beale.
  9. Monday June 7th credits Writer - Matt Evans Director - Peter Rose Executive Producer - Diederick Santer Executive Producer - Bryan Kirkwood Tuesday June 8th credits Writer - Paul Mari Director - Peter Rose Executive Producer - Diederick Santer Executive Producer - Bryan Kirkwood
  10. I wonder if Bryan has plans to blow the sets up, in order to revamp them.
  11. From digital spy EastEnders' to broadcast in HD BBC soap EastEnders will broadcast in high definition for the first time in the autumn, it has been announced. The Walford serial's switch to HD ties in with the BBC's plans to simulcast "the majority" of BBC One programming before the end of the year. Other programmes scheduled to make the transition include Holby City, Waterloo Road and Casualty. Last year, former executive producer Diederick Santer revealed that some parts of the Albert Square set didn't "pass muster" in the high quality filming format. He said: "Until we've either completely refurbed the exterior set or moved the programme somewhere else and built it from scratch, then we're not going to be going HD." Preparations are currently afoot at the soap's home at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Herts, ahead of its move to HD production within the next few months. In September, EastEnders revamped its title sequence, replacing the old blue, green and grey map with a three-dimensional version, for HD broadcast. Hollyoaks became the first of the Big Four UK soaps to air in HD in June 2008. On Monday, Coronation Street makes it debut on ITV HD with its stripped week of 9pm editions featuring Tony Gordon's prison break and factory siege. ITV recently unveiled new-look titles ahead of its first transmission. Similar plans for Emmerdale have yet to be announced by the commercial broadcaster.
  12. A pic of Bryan Kirkwood on the set, I found on walford web. http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/6279/215668.jpg
  13. Here are the new Corrie credits
  14. At least a double episode on the Monday means we will get through these episodes quicker. I hear that Monday is a bank holiday in the UK and the start of school half term, so nobody will watch them anyway.
  15. Monday 31st of May is a double episode. This means that Bryan's first episode is Friday 4th June
  16. I have just been watching the Brighton episodes from 2001 featuring the Slaters. I love the different music on the end credits. I do not remember these episodes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFOG63VYqSg
  17. BAFTA Nominations - Continuing Drama The Bill Production Team ITV1/Talkback Thames Casualty Production Team BBC One/BBC Productions Coronation Street Kieran Roberts, Kim Crowther, Joe Turner, Kay Patrick ITV1/ITV Studios EastEnders Production Team BBC One/BBC Productions
  18. I wonder if the cut scenes are to do with Bryan changing scripts. I still cannot believe he has been in charge ten weeks now.
  19. I loved that he acknowledges Shirley's character has been underused, and I am thrilled that Simon Ashdown is writing Barbara's exit. It also confirms that Bryan has kept the same story and production team as Diederick.
  20. Diederick's name is still on the credits next week. I think it will be weeks before we see Kirkwood's name on the credits. The script for last nights episode was issued on the 1st February and was not filmed until March 5th, Bryan's first week in charge. Which means that there must be at least another four weeks of Diederick's material to air.
  21. I thought the Lucas scene was a change made by Bryan, especially with the shift in storyline for Lucas, which Bryan has planned.
  22. The interview with Nitin was interesting, where he said that Bryan has been changing scripts and stories since he started.
  23. I enjoyed the EastEnders revealed programme on Syed and Christian. Both Bryan Kirkwood and Diederick Santer were listed as executive producers.
  24. From E4 Producer On 'Who Shot Calvin?' Hollyoaks series producer Paul Marquess got in touch with us before to talk EXCLUSIVELY about the episodes surrounding Calvin Valentine’s murder. He’s excited about them and, we tell you what, so are we! Read on to see what’s coming up on Hollyoaks… “Hello, I’m feeling excited and privileged. Why? Because I’ve just seen the week of episodes where we find out who shot Calvin. It’s bold and daring stuff – full of mystery and intrigue. The week expands on what we saw in the Flash Forward episode and fills in all the gaps. As key motivations are explained, the finger of suspicion hovers over first one character, then another. It’s intense and absorbing stuff. The aftermath of the murder is going to be every bit as dramatic. There’s a great big secret at the heart of Hollyoaks – how long before it starts to leak out? And, if poor old Carmel thinks that losing her husband is the worst of her troubles, she’s sorely mistaken. Instead, Calvin’s murder is the catalyst for the unravelling of a whole knot of secrets and lies. The wedding week will usher in a new era for Hollyoaks – and subsequent weeks will see us introduce fresh characters and stories to intrigue and entertain you. I’m really enjoying what I’m seeing. I hope that you will agree. Best, Paul Marquess”
