Kathleen has now confimed that she is leaving EastEnders as well.

I asked Kathleen yesterday if she was leaving and she did not respond, but apparently there is an article in the sun today that confirms she is leaving.

Several people with inside sources, are saying that Kathleen Beedles, is also out as story producer. There are rumors she has gone to Hollyoaks.

I am wary of promoting from within the show, the last time that happened we got Louise Berridge.

Well Lorraine was John Yorke's series producer, when he brought Sharon back in 2001, so I hope she is planning it.

Well there was that article in the mirror, reporting a backstgae power struggle between him and John Yorke, last month. I would like to know who will replace Lorraine as the new permanent exec producer.

The DS posters are starting to turn against Collinson's sensationalism, and there has been more paraise of EastEnders lately. I think Phil Collinson is being interviewed tommorrow.

Corrie also lost the RTS award.

You have more faith in the panel than I do. This year's panel awards were a joke.

The panel will give them every award going. They did it last year with Eastenders and this year with Corrie. A live episode guarantees them the panel awards.

They know that by doing a big stunt and live episode, they we will sweep the board at the British soap awards in 2013.

I read that Kat is going to have trouble bonding with the baby. Jessie Wallace said that viewer's will have to wait before they get a happy ending.

Lorraine Newman is to take on the role of EastEnders executive producer in a permanent capacity with immediate effect.
John Yorke, Controller, BBC Drama Production and New Talent, says: “Over the last few months Lorraine Newman has steered the show through a period of considerable change, and she’s done an amazing job positioning the show for one of the most exciting autumns I can remember.
"Lorraine has been part of EastEnders for nearly 20 years, and is the first Executive Producer to have occupied every editorial role on the show. Starting as a script secretary she has risen through the ranks, finding herself as Series Producer and second in command for the last seven years. With her depth of experience, her passion for the programme and her commitment to talent on-screen and off, she’s the perfect person to take EastEnders forward.”
Lorraine Newman says of her appointment: "It is an absolute honour to be taking on the role of Executive Producer at EastEnders on a permanent basis. My passion for EastEnders was ignited during my first stint on the show as Script Secretary at the age of 19 and this passion has continued to grow ever since.
"I am looking forward to leading a talented creative team, cast and crew into 2013."
